A continuation of so many threads spent waiting to ttc that I've completely forgotten what number thread we're on.

If you're waiting to ttc, stop by and say hello! Smile

Don't really think cancelling would be an option for the 'rents...they're going on a round-the-world trip Envy with loads of different segments all booked so it'd be a nightmare to replan! And they'd have only been away about 5 days if I was due in Jan so it'd be stupid to go and fly back....hmmm. Oh the ridiculousness of the situations we envisage when we're not even TTC yet! (is there a lost-the-plot emoticon? Shall we get one invented?)

JS: get the Berocca out! I quite often feel really depleted for a few days if I've had a boozy weekend, hopefully you'll recover if you look after yourself?

Capreece · 28/02/2011 13:02

I know Quod - perhaps it's absurd how we assume we'll get upduffed as soon as we start trying. Personally I blame all the Sex Ed lessons where they debunk the 'you can't get pregnant your first time' myth, so now we all have the 'you will get pregnant the first time' myth to replace it!

minipie · 28/02/2011 15:05

So, AC, sounds like we will be jumping at the same time - nervous DHs permitting. June is also our second wedding anniversary as it happens... !

Quod that actually sounds like quite a good reason to delay TTCing (if you are looking for one!) - I know I'll really want my mum around soon after the birth. Mind you, of course, it could take you a few months to get updiffed anyway... If only we could plan these things a bit more precisely!

JS living dangerously! Grin good to hear your DH didn't freak at the idea anyway.

Hi all,
Welcome to the new kids!! Hi!!

TMI coming up...apologies in advance...as I have a Mirena coil in for my endometriosis i haven't had a period since it was put in in 2009. I had another op for my condition Sept. 2010 and still no periods. However, OH & I had sex last Monday and i had some of the old, brown discharge that happens at the beginning or end of a period! Confused.

It lasted a couple of days and stopped. Then we had sex again Saturday night and today i've had some wierd yellow coloured discharge. All the while having random pelvic pain and a really itchy left nipple.

I had my coil checked before xmas as i was getting pains so i was paranoid it had dislodged or fallen out. However, i have such small strings on it i can't feel it to check, and the doctor took 2 seperate attemps over a week to find them. It was fine after all that. But i don't feel like i can run to the doctor everytime something wierd happens. Does anybody have experiences with this?

Thanks...xxx

Capreece · 01/03/2011 10:45

I would say unusual discharge and pelvic pain warrants a trip to the nurse practitioner at the very least.

x

bebejones · 01/03/2011 11:59

Astro - RING. THE. DOCTORS! If you have other medical conditions they should be made aware of things like this. Please call them! x

Capreece · 01/03/2011 12:59

Hey ladies - you're the only ones on here who I've really got to know, so just wanted to inform you that I'm about to namechange. All being well I'll become MadCatLady - am happy to explain why if anyone PMs me, but otherwise I will see you around as before and I wanted you all to recognise me :-)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 01/03/2011 13:06

MadCatLady was taken so I went for this

And have you called the doctors yet Astro

bebejones · 01/03/2011 13:12

LOVE it!! That could so be me! I make cakes when stressed/bored!

Astro - hope you are ok?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 01/03/2011 13:36

Yeah, the problem is when I eat them too

FancyALittle · 01/03/2011 16:58

Haven't been on for a while, but we found out today that my DH got the job he wanted! Now that's in the bag we can plan a month to start TTC, eep!

LetThereBeCupcakes · 03/03/2011 07:33

Morning all!

I've been MIA for a few days - off work sick with the dreaded lurgy. Still very tired and sniffly but otherwise not to bad.

I have to buy a gift for OH's friends who are expecting a baby. Unfortunately, OH can't remember when it's due or whether it's a boy or a girl. White baby-grows it is then! You know how everybody says "don't buy newborn size. EVERYBODY buys newborn". Do you think that's true, or does everybody think somebody else will buy newborn so the parents end up with drawers full of too-big clothes? I ended up buying newborn but slipping the receipt in an envelope to give to her just in case.

I suspect I overthink things...

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 03/03/2011 10:09

Ugh - is this thread contagious? I think I'm coming down with a lurgy too, now. Bleugh.

On the plus side think my mum is coming round to the idea that she might be a Granny in the next year or two. She's been v resistant and that would have made things uncomfortable.

JustShaggingForNow · 03/03/2011 14:16

Afternoon all

I think I might have started the thread lurgy as I've been in bed with flu since Monday lunch time. Sorry everybody!! AM hoping it goes soon as otherwise running 13.2 miles on Sunday is going to be hellish!!

Astro - how are you feeling? Did you go to the Drs?

DH flicked me on an email this morning from a guy he knows through work. We went to his wedding in October and guess what......? His wife is pregnant and due in Septemer EnvySadEnvy

I made a flip comment about everybody seeming to be pregnant at the moment and he replied with "don't be jealous (joke!!)" I pointed out that I was really happy for them and not jealous but a bit envious as it seems everybody is announcing that they are pregnant and that I am so far from that :(

Bring on 22nd April when we can actually start TTC so that I feel as though I am getting somewhere!!!

BroodyRhi · 03/03/2011 18:27

I have not been on here in ages, thought it might help my head to step back from mums things.

But

AF arrived this morning after a month of not on the pill and I wept. I know we have been using condoms and DP is still no in the right place but I wept. I had lost track of my cycle and had no idea if I was late but felt different some how. And then this morning the sight of that just broke me.

DP mentioned that it would be 2 yrs before I would get maternity leave, I cant wait that long. I would be 28 before we even started trying. I cant cope with this broodiness for 2 more years.

Sorry for sucky self indulgent post but have no where else to vent.

Hope all you lovely ladies are doing better than me.

AstroZola · 03/03/2011 21:04

Hi All,
Sorry to have not been on here. I still haven't been to the drs as been sooo snowed under with work, exams, essays, house inspections...however, the pains aren't so bad now...they're more occassional...and i'm actually starting to think i have thrush so that may explain the prior discharge....sorry for the graphic info everyone!

On the better side of things i've just bought the MN guide to pregnancy and the OH wasn't so scared by it as i said it would help me support my best friend etc...although i'm sure he knows i'm dying for a child by now...i mention something at least once a day. And last night the book made me have a proper giggle fit!! He thought i was mad so had to read him some...ha ha ha ha!!! Grin.

My friends baby is doing fab! Smile. She let the whole world know today as her scan went great and she's 13wks and 3 days. The scan is so clear and amazing. You can even see the femur!! I can't wait to have my own. But all being well, i'll be able to practice with hers in September. Yay...how is everyone else? There have been a lot of bugs going around! xxxx

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/03/2011 11:06

scratchy throat, but otherwise surviving - if any of you want a giggle go over to the thread about learning from experience - it's seriously chortle-worthy.

Astro - if it is thrush apply live yoghurt. Way more soothing and effective than frickin canesten (imho) and heaps cheaper, too.

Hi Rhi - no advice to you, as I'm looking 28 in the eye now (3 weeks away) and we're having to wait on hubby's job until April, but welcome back.

JustShaggingForNow · 04/03/2011 11:17

And I'm already 28!!!

Quodlibet · 04/03/2011 11:30

I wish I was 28.

(although actually I think I'm in better physical shape now than I was at 28, ovaries possibly excepting)

gardensnail · 04/03/2011 11:59

Oooh, an appropriate thread for me :)

DD is 19mo, and we're starting to think about having another.

Every other bugger seems to be pregnant or with a gorgeous squishy and I want one Envy

However, we could rather do with more money and a bigger house before having another baby Hmm. That said, DH is due a promotion and therefore a payrise within the next 6-9 months. And we could borrow money from MIL to move house, and quite feasibly do that within 9 months.

Then there's just the small matter of coping with a pregnancy and then newborn as well as DD.

The whole thing is making my head hurt.

I was firmly in the YesButNotYet camp. But then we didn't bother forgot to use anything last night Blush, and I've found myself looking hopefully at my diary to see if I might be ovulating right about now!!

bebejones · 04/03/2011 12:07

I am 28 and heading at a rate of knots towards 29! (At least that's how it feels)

Welcome Gardensnail! :)

Just had a friend and her two DDs round. Her eldest is the same age as my DD so they argued played for an hour! Her LO is nearly 6months & huge & sooooooooooooooo laid back! Even when DD through a plastic orange at her Blush (not nasty DD wanted to play 'catch'!) So mega broody now having sat & looked at a baby all morning! :(

Does everyone have lovely plans for the weekend? I have to clean my oven...how glamourous! And also it's DHs nephews 2nd birthday party tomorrow. Fun times! Hmm

JustShaggingForNow · 04/03/2011 12:07

welcome gardensnail!!
I'm ovulating today and am wondering if it would be very bad form to UPS tonight as DH is already thinking we might have had an accident last weekend......

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/03/2011 15:50

UPS?

The delivery service? Wouldn't delivery be 9 months away?

Lovely and sunny, but PMT combined with the onset of a cold does not a motivated me make. Sofa time

Plans for weekend is seeing one of my friends I left behind when I moved and who kept me sane throughout the really really horrible year that was 2010. So looking forward to seeing her and showing her how happy I am, despite a cold.

bebejones · 04/03/2011 15:58

Wink :o

It is so beautiful here today, but still freezing!

DHs cousin has posted a pic on fb of her 20 week scan I want another one NOW! Not fair!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 04/03/2011 16:11

Serious question here, but if you keep on feeling broody even when you have one, how do you ever stop?
Seriously? Will having a baby not make the broody go away?
