A continuation of so many threads spent waiting to ttc that I've completely forgotten what number thread we're on.

If you're waiting to ttc, stop by and say hello! Smile

JustShaggingForNow. I also went to a wedding in October, and now the bride is pregnant due in September. I'm very happy for them, but rather envious.

Due to DH we are having to wait till January till we start TTC. I think my envy was from the fact that she's younger than me is in a similar financial predicament and has been with her DH for much less time.

Broody Rhi, I will be three months short of my 29 birthday when DH and I start TTC. DH likes to plan and make sure we're in the best financial position. If it was left up to me, we'd have been TTC 2 years ago.

I am very broody, but find that dreaming of baby names, what pram I will buy, and buying and reading Taking Charge of Your Fertility helps. Also planning a holiday which you would not be able to take with a baby helps enormously. We're off to Sri Lanka this year, for a final holiday of a lifetime before TTC.

shouldnotbehere · 04/03/2011 16:26

oooh, I might add. Sounds crazy but I find trying to keep fit/healthy helps. I tell myself that I need to be in peak fitness for Jan 2012 when we start TTC.

Also trying to earn as much money as possible, for baby helps with broodiness.

gardensnail · 04/03/2011 20:37

MakesCakes the broodiness does go away when you have a baby. Alas it comes back. And is just as distracting and all-consuming as the first time around.

I'm assuming it does stop at some point, otherwise we'd all have eleventy-seven kids Confused

AstroZola · 04/03/2011 20:40

I'm 28 now and will be 28 and a half come the time when we TTC - IF we TTC as i still don't have an answer Angry. I do keep making small comments every day which force him to think about it though (in a jokey, non-threatening way) and having the MN book lying around and my friends scan as a phone screen-saver I'm hoping to send subconscious messages that babies are in our life! Smile. I can't wait until my friend has hers...i'm so excited. i want to buy her things already but want to wait and find out the sex first!

I'm hoping to be fitter by September, have finished and passed my finals and these finals are the thing that's making ME wait anyway! But I do surf the net looking at baby stuff, thinking of baby names, ogling other people's small babies in the street...I must look like a desperate loon.

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 05/03/2011 12:14

Hey Ladies.

Sorry I've been MIA been really busy working, school runs, afterschool activities etc.

Welcome to the newbies Grin

With regards to the newborn stuff everyone buys I found that was true lol so always buy the next size up.

Hope everyone is feeling better now.

Astro I love the MN books so funny they are lol.

Well the ovarian pain has come back and I think its ovulation pain. However, DP won't TTC this month I don't think. So feel lousy today.

DD has been really good and is going wedding shopping with my sister today for bits and bobs which she is really looking forward to.

FancyALittle · 06/03/2011 07:00

Just wanted to say good luck for the half JS!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 06/03/2011 07:49

Seconded! Hope you're feeling better :)

bebejones · 06/03/2011 11:12

Good Luck JS!! Hope you are feeling better! Let us know how you get on :)

God clearly has a very warped sense of humour....4, yes 4, newborns at the family church service this morning! Feeling miserable & broody & desperate! :( Plus DD was a complete handful so feel like a crap mummy!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 06/03/2011 16:33

Bebe - warper sense of humour? Think you're right. As of today we're down one car, no money to replace it and we both work more than 10 miles away.

bad bad very very bad.

bebejones · 06/03/2011 17:17

Cakes - thats really crappy! :( Anyone who can give you lifts? Would you get anything for the car on part exchange? Is your local public transport as dire as ours?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 07/03/2011 10:06

We;re in the middle of nowhere - literally. Nothing within walking distance, including bus stops.

My boss lives nearby, just got to screw up the courage to ask her if she can give me the odd lift.

It's just another stress factor and does not fill me with confidence that this is the right time to start a family

JustShaggingForNow · 07/03/2011 13:24

Morning All

Was sure I had posted on here this morning but evidently not!!

Thanks for all the wishes for the Bath Half! I was incredibly nervous yesterday morning but managed a pretty respectable time of 02:03:36 so quite proud of myself! Am in a world of pain today though :)

cakes - what a pain on the car front.....
bebe - Grrrrrr, it really sucks to be surrounded by LOs when you want one yourself.

faithfulandtruthful · 07/03/2011 14:16

Hello all, waves

I am 27 and waiting to ttc for many reasons!! It is soo hard, two of my close friends are preggers, one is due very soon and to add to the constant reminders i work with children too.

I have been with my OH for 6 months and right at the beginning of our relationship we have discussed having children, we have decided to wait a year to give ourselves sometime together before we start trying. However I have long term health problems which mean that I may well have trouble ttc and as I am heading towards the big 30 I don't wish to wait too long to begin trying. I have so many questions and I am not sure all of them can be answered!

I recently had a happy accident (am on the pill but was poorly/taking meds) which ended (very early on) in MC, Myself and OH were very excited at the idea shame it was over so quickly! But this has made me even more broody and I find it harder by the day to wait as it has given me hope that I will fall pregnant once i am trying. bloomin need to procreate!

Anyways that's enough from me.

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 07/03/2011 15:00

Hey Faith,

Welcome to the WTTC thread :-)

Why not go ask your doc for a 'pre-pregnancy' check up type thing? It helped me a lot, because it felt like I was actually doing something towards it :-)

Sorry about the MC and, well, welcome to the madhouse.

Have to say, girls, I'm glad none of my friends are procreating. Mind you, most of the ones my age or older are gay and the rest are younger than me, but I don't care, it must be horrid to be in the situation and you have my sympathy.

x

faithfulandtruthful · 07/03/2011 15:34

Thanks, I have to admit to being a lurker for some time but have finally cracked!

My Dr is off at the moment as she is having an op but when she is back I will go and see her for sure. I know I have got to have a rubella jab as I never completed my jabs due to my LTI (long term illness) so before i even start trying I must do that and i do need to see my Dr as she knows my history of my LTI. She knows I am going to start trying soon as I told her when I spoke to her last time i got my pill.

As for the MC I'm a great believer in what is meant to be so the actual sadness of the MC hasn't been too bad, just the questions which I have been having since pester me. Plus it has most defiantly made me more broody!!

As for my friends in one way it is not nice watching my friends fall preggers when I want to be, espcially when one of my pregnant friends condescendingly told me 'it will be my turn one day' (bloody hope so, but that doesn't make it any easier!) but on another, I know I will have friends who have gone first so there will always be someone to chat to about pregnancy when I do fall pregnant. Swings and roundabouts!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 07/03/2011 17:06

Not to mention second-hand baby stuff ;-)

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 07/03/2011 18:45

Cakes Thats pants about your car, hopefully your boss will be kind enough to offer you a lift.

Welcome Faith I agree on the MC thing (being one of them myself) that if its meant to be then its meant to be.

How is everyone else doing?

Well I feel lousy :( All my joints look huge and I feel nauseous.

JustShaggingForNow · 09/03/2011 11:20

ummmmm - Did somone spot a shark in the water and evacuate the beach?!?!? Where is everybody?

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/03/2011 12:09

I'm here, but I feel self-conscious when I look back at the thread and see about 50% of the posts are by me Blush

Working at home today (thank God for flexible work) and trying not to think about the half-a-bunny one of the surrogate babies brought in during the night. ugh.

JustShaggingForNow · 09/03/2011 12:15

hahahaha! I kept looking back on here and thinking "where IS everybody?"

Am very bored at work and should be getting on with stuff but am really not in the mood and just want to go home and go to bed. Think Sunday's exertions have take it out of me more than I expected!!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/03/2011 12:18

Did they find a marketing exec person?

JustShaggingForNow · 09/03/2011 12:30

Nope but we made it very clear to our manager that we won't be doing it and she has passed it on to the Director who is actaully supposed to be looking after it in the first place. Joy!!

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/03/2011 12:39

Hurrah! Well that's something, though a bit crappy if you're bored instead :-D

I've been tasked with researching HTML5 microdata for SEO purposes and it's making my eyes spin. Almost literally ;-)

Cocopops are the answer.

(They're also the answer to why I will never have a flat stomach)

JustShaggingForNow · 09/03/2011 13:29

well that went straight oiver my head!!! Sounds both complex and impressive.

I'm eating coronation chicken wrapped in lettuce leaves..... not sure if I like it but as I can't eat sandwiches and didn't make anything to bring in today (because I was too lazy to get out of bed until 7am in a bit of a rush this morning) I am having to improvise after a trip to Sainsburys!! Big bad of Haribo on my desk staring at me though which I will soon be tucking into :)

MakesCakesWhenStressed · 09/03/2011 15:07

Why can't you eat sandwiches? Gluten intolerance?

Yeah, the microdata proved a bit too complex for me, too, so I did my other job and am waiting until DH comes home so I can talk it out with him :-)
