A continuation of so many threads spent waiting to ttc that I've completely forgotten what number thread we're on.

If you're waiting to ttc, stop by and say hello! Smile

Not saying you did Capreece just a weird way of dealing with it, but if it works then that's good!

JustShaggingForNow · 21/02/2011 10:33

morning all!!

Had a lovely start to my week:

  • forgot railcard so had to pay for ticket
  • forgot work mobile - doh!
  • had to cut short gym session when I had to get off the treadmill to throw up
  • CAUC of a director in the team just had a go at me for a piece of marketing material that he is supposed ot be responsible for. Doesn't like the text (his #2 signed it off) doesn't like the layout (brand standard) doesn't like the images (chosen by his team) etc etc etc. Came very close to looking my rag with him but instead opted for pointing out that I'm not a marketing person, do not have any qualifications and have only been here for 2 months. I'm doing this as a favour to the team. Bring on the meeting to discuss marketing recruitment next week as I've had enough!!!

It's only 10:30 and already I need a glass of wine!

Sorry to bring downthe train with that but just needed to vent this morning! :)

In other news, I got a ver ver pretty dress for India at the weekend and had lots of lovely quality time with DH. Off to Newcastle for a weeding on Friday which should be fun and then we're into Mad March (busy every weekend!!) and down to only 2 AF to go before TTC - YAY!

How was everyone elses weekends?

BiscuitBob · 21/02/2011 11:41

Hello everyone! Can I join?

We were ttc #2, but have stopped now because I'm getting a bit jittery about our financial situation (its recently come to light that we might need to get some repairs done to our house), so we've decided to wait to ttc again until June, so we can get a bit more money together.

I keep thinking we should just go for it, but then the sensible part tells me to be a responsible parent Smile

Anyway, off work today feeling awful and have lost my voice, so having a rubbish week so far - woo hoo!

bebejones · 21/02/2011 11:44

I have read through, but can't remember who said what! Blush Brain is a bit mushy, been potty training DD & I'm shattered! It is hard work!!!

I am going to be 'working' on DH to TTC from May. Hmm Not sure it'll work, but I can but try! Although PT DD has put him off even more!

will try & keep up a bit better now the internet seems to have bucked its ideas up!! Hmm

AstroZola · 21/02/2011 13:13

Hey all,
Hope everyone is ok. I had a fab wkend in London with my family and my best mate. I'm so tired now though as we walked so, so much. Glad I've got today off but i still haven't actually done anything because i'm so tired.

Also, just had a small fire in the toaster!! oops! no toaster anymore. Smile

gotta go and do something productive!

JustShaggingForNow · 21/02/2011 13:26

Afternoon all!
Despite a rubbish start to my day, I have managed to get close to my fundraising target again and so have increased it to £750 - fingers crossed I get a few more donations from my co-workers to get me there! That's put a smile on my face after the phone/railcard/sick/marketing cock ups of this morning!!! :)

JustShaggingForNow · 21/02/2011 13:27

Oops on the toaster Astro...... what a disaster!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 21/02/2011 18:31

Evening all.

JS Not a good morning at all by looks of it. Would like to know what your boss said when you told him you were not marketing and it had been signed off by X,Y,Z :)

Well can't I tell i've stopped my Adalat i'm bloody freezing all the time :( and keep turning blue.

Took DD to see Tangled at the cinema this morning, she was so well behaved and loved it. Shes currently playing in her bedroom but will nip up the chippy with her in a mo as DP is off out on his monday night club up the new indian in town.

RosyRosie · 21/02/2011 20:34

Hi all,

New to the forum - I'm 24 and having to wait before we start trying for a baby. Annoying.

I got pregnant last year accidentally (did everything right though!) and was terrified, hated the idea, hated kids etc and then lost the baby anyway after finally thinking I'd give it a go. Since then a switch has been flicked somewhere and I want children now? Luckily, DP (see, I'm picking up the lingo!) is on-side and wants them too, but we wanted to get our wedding out of the way and work it in with my career a bit better so we can't try til May at the earliest! humph

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 21/02/2011 20:39

Welcome Rosy

Beware MN is very addictive lol.

Good that you have your DP on board. Sorry to hear about your miscarriage, like myself and a few others we've all been there.

What is the date of your wedding?

RosyRosie · 21/02/2011 20:41

21st of may - luckily it doesn't clash with the wedding!

I recovered pretty well from the miscarriage, but it did affect me. I work with a pregnant lady and every time I look at her I get a stab of jealousy :( NEVER thought I would feel this way?

RosyRosie · 21/02/2011 20:43

d'oh - that should have read 'royal wedding'!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 21/02/2011 20:48

My DP is going to Vegas on 28th April so won't be in the country for the 'Royal Wedding' but at least means an extra day off for me lol.

I'll be in Ibiza the day of your wedding so hope you have good weather here - although i'm hoping for some good weather over there too.

I think once you miscarry you realise the precious thing you have lost.

I had mine in 2008 and I wanted to start TTC again last yr, certain things needed to be dealt with before we decided to start TTC so i'm on the count down till Aprils AF then TTC begins yay! Grin

RosyRosie · 22/02/2011 08:50

You may have better chance of good weather in ibiza than here...I NEED it to be good weather, don't want a rainy wedding!!

RosyRosie · 22/02/2011 09:27

How is everybody else preparing? (or maybe you're all organised and ready to go?) I have so much to do, and it used to feel like a long time but now it's only 3mo!

A lot of my fears about being pregnant centred on living on a building site and not having any money, so I've been trying so so hard to put that right - I need to move us from the small bedroom into the bigger bedroom, which involves decorating the big bedroom. That includes carpets and everything. Then the small bedroom will need doing for the child, although that can potentially wait. The living room needs complete redecoration and new carpet aswell. The kitchen is done already!

I've taken on as much work as I can and am getting myself sorted - I think by the end of this month I can start saving again, after years of being too poor to put anything away, and I felt like I had no safety net.

RosyRosie · 22/02/2011 09:28

Oh, I'm also losing weight - I figure I'll put a bit on once pregnant but won't be able to do 'weight loss' for ages, so the less I start with the better! Lost a stone since november - ideally 2 to go, but I'd be happy with one more.

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 22/02/2011 10:39

Getting prepared, Just continue on the path your on now eat well, no alcohol, take folic acid.

can you start any of the decorating now?

The only rooms in our house now is the kitchen with needs ripping out and complete redesign that can wait I can live with what we have and the 3rd bedroom currently the office will be the babys room but that can wait until a couple of months before I pop Grin

I still have my moses basket, crib etc from last time, still have some baby grows, vests, socks, cardis from DD so will need to check what I have. Have started to get a few things from ebay that I can put away, got a new avent steriliser IQ for £12 inc p&p in the shops its almost £60. so bargain there.

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 22/02/2011 10:43

I put on almost 3 stone with DD so don't count your chickens lol

LetThereBeCupcakes · 22/02/2011 10:59

Hello all!
May I join you? I?m waiting to TTC ? H2B and I are getting married early next year and hope to start trying after that. Trouble is, I suspect H2B will try to delay again after the Big Day. He wants kids in theory, but he?s such a procrastinator! Everything is ?Later? with him. He knows how keen I am though ? he has just clocked that I?ve been decluttering a lot lately and has asked if I?m doing it ?to make room for a baby?. Busted.
I can see his point about waiting ? it makes sense, it?s just that I don?t want to!
Very nearly bought an adorable babygro the other weekend, but managed to resist? Not sure how long I?ll be able to keep that up!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 22/02/2011 11:04

Welcome LTBC

DP was delaying having no2, but it was kinda an ultimatum deal lol. He kept saying later and its not the right time, but theres never a right time you just crack on with it. DD wasn't planned but we dealt with it :) just like we will do with no2.

If you feel the urge to buy babygros maybe get yourself a storage box and start picking up the odd thing and then won't be so bad when you do conceive you'll only have a few bits to get then iykwim.

LetThereBeCupcakes · 22/02/2011 11:09

It does seem logical to start hoarding now. It would be a shame if my non-existant baby had to go without because I hadn't saved up in advance!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 22/02/2011 11:31

I've still got lots from having DD (I kept all the unisex stuff) and all significant things to me. However, I've started topping up ie new vests, socks, bottles etc. so when the time comes all I have to do Is decorate the nursery as want to find out the sex this time before baby is born so i'm alot more prepared :)

JustShaggingForNow · 22/02/2011 11:37

Wow!! I am amazed by how many people buy baby stuff before even TTC. I have been contemplating this and then thinking that I must be insane so it's good to know that it's perfectly normal! Will have to try and resist until we actually start trying though as I think DH would have a complete freak out if he found a box of baby grows in the house!!

Will have to stick to doing research on travel systems and designing my fantasy nursery in my head for now!!!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 22/02/2011 12:06

JS If you've got space in the attic put it in there, i'm just adding it to the box we already have off DD stuff and DP is none the wiser lol!

The only thing will have to buy nearer the time of popping is a buggy - liking the loola still but need to research more.

Quodlibet · 22/02/2011 12:19

Haha JS yes me too! I think my DP would flip out if he found the folic acid tablets! Although he's managed to cope with me stashing baby bjorn sling in our wardrobe (I didn't buy it, it was left in the cupboard downstairs by old tenants).

Mind you I think I'm still at the stage where I would freak myself out by buying things, even buying the folic acid had me going all wibbly in the middle of Sainsbury's.
