A continuation of so many threads spent waiting to ttc that I've completely forgotten what number thread we're on.

If you're waiting to ttc, stop by and say hello! Smile

Hi ladies

Can't bloody sleep for some reason. Did my weekly OBEM tears and am now feeling a bit low. Probably a combination of not seeing DH for over a week, being fed up at work, feeling a bit lonely and AF being due.

I'm getting so fed up of all this waiting and just want it to be my turn. Everywhere I turn people are pregnant or giving birth and whilst I'm very happy for them, it really upsets me. It's the only thing I want and I can't have it!!

I am really excited about everything we have planned in the next few months but am also wishing they were over so we can get on with TTC.

Hope I feel better in the morning. Still haven't packed for my overnight trip up to town........

DizzyKipper · 15/02/2011 08:45

Wow AZ that's a fantastic achievement, what work are you hoping to get into after all the training/education?

Quodlibet · 15/02/2011 10:08

Blimey well done AstroZola! What are you studying?

JS sorry you're feeling low - being on your own on V day is never fun either is it? Last year my DP was away and I did a fair bit of wallowing as I remember! Are you feeling any better today?
BTW I don't think it's at all morally dubious of you not to 'talk timings' if it's going to lead to him having a freak-out. Some people are better at coping with things if it's happening now, not for them to worry about in the future iyswim?

I'm feeling a bit ropey today as slept really really badly - I was supposed to be working in a school today which means getting up at 6am, and kept waking up worrying about it, and then at 5.30am the other guy I work with texted to say it'd been rescheduled, he thought I knew... Angry Er, no I didn't because no one told me!

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 15/02/2011 17:02

Hey Ladies.

Astro Congrats on your award.

JS Sorry your feeling low - hope you feel perkier soon.

Bebe How are things with you?

Well I generally feel awful, so exhausted and as well as this ovarian pain back i've got abdominal pain almost like a contraction where it comes and goes. Its possibly trapped wind but I just want to sleep. 1 more day at work, then I can have the day to myself before half term begins for DD. Although shes got conjunctivitus and had her at work with me today - although she was really well behaved its hard to concentrate on work and keep your DD in check and not annoy anyone lol.
Roll on for when DP gets home.

My DP was so lovely yesterday looking after me cos i'm still not 100% and sent me flowers and balloons to work and made me a special dinner (not that I could eat it but the thought was lovely). Was kinda hoping there was an engagement ring in there somewhere but hey ho!

TTC is def on for april, going to try before DP goes to vegas and def when he comes home if need be [grin}

Quodlibet · 15/02/2011 17:54

Darciesmum your little one must be well-behaved if you can have her at work, bless. Your DP sounds like he made a big effort, how sweet.

We might be TTC at the same time - it's a possibility we're on for April too...

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 15/02/2011 19:00

Quod yeah she is good generally - I work for a doctors practice and she spent most of the day watching cinderella, doing crafty things, and sat in with the docs at lunch eating and drinking coffee!

You can be my April TTC buddy Grin

BabyMaking2011 · 15/02/2011 19:15

i think my oh would do it now if i said lets go big boy but i have tojust pay off my credit crad first so can afford to do maternity leave. its really wierd coz before i got mrried was sooooo broody but it went away for a few months after wedding, even stopped folic acid. so maybe you'll hve that too...

Biccies · 16/02/2011 10:38

Morning! Can I join?

We've been waiting to TTC for about a year for various money-related reasons.
Problem is, we're going to Australia for a month in September, and I don't know whether it would be sensible to wait till we get back. We were gonna start in March/April so if all went to plan(!) I'd be 6 months pregnant while away.

I don't want to put it off any more, but I also want to be sensible. Any advice?

JustShaggingForNow · 16/02/2011 11:38

Hi Biccies

I may now also be going to Oz in September (DH's Granny is over there and he is really worried that something will happen to her and he won't have seen her for years. I've also never met her).

We're planning on TTC from April/May and so at most I'd be in my 2nd trimester when we go. I think that as long as you are careful on the flight you should be ok. It's not like you're going to a 3rd world country!!

I caould be a bit lacking in caution though so see what others think!

Quodlibet · 16/02/2011 11:49

Hi Biccies

I was in Australia for a month in December and was playing the same thought through my head before we went (we ended up waiting longer, though not just for that reason). But then I thought while I was in Oz 'there's no reason I couldn't have been pregnant on this trip'. Aside from the long flight which is never going to be fun...it's pretty much the same as being at home but with nicer weather and better scenery. Basically I wouldn't put it off in your position. Hope that helps.

Biccies · 16/02/2011 12:11

Thanks for responses, you've both set my mind at rest. I know it's likely to be fine, like you say, its not like it's a 3rd world country!! I suppose I'm just worrying because I've never been pregnant before and so I don't know how i'm going to feel ? i don't want to plan things and then not be able to do them, especially a big trip like this. Just been thinking about TTC for so long, and now it's almost time I'm having a bit of a freakout!!

DizzyKipper · 16/02/2011 12:28

Did and search and turned up this Biccies www.babycentre.co.uk/pregnancy/isitsafeto/flyexpert/ I think you should be fine.

FlirtyThirty · 16/02/2011 14:31

Hello everyone! My story in summary is...I have a 21 month old son and m ready to have another. In principle my OH is in favour of him having a brother/ sister, but we have nt yet discussed it. Recently though, i'v been getting very broody and mentally planning another, while OH seems to be more focussed on travel and stuff that the 3 of us can do now DS is growing up.
So...I need to have to big chat with him and tell him I want another child and find out how he feels. ridiculous as it sounds given we're married, happy and ave. Child, I'm SO nervous about raising it. I have no idea how to start the conversation....
Am thinking I may try this weekend...

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 16/02/2011 17:57

Hey Ladies

Biccies I don't think it would be a problem. they have good hospitals should anything happen. Just remember to walk around on the flight!

Right I have some sort of indigestion and pain what ever it is, it needs to bugger off now it really hurts, so back to docs on friday. PPl have been hinting sign of pregnancy, def not tho.

My sisters best friend and her DH had their first baby last night a gorgeous little boy so Envyous tho, 2.5hrs labour why could that of not happened to me first time around lol

AstroZola · 16/02/2011 21:40

Hey lovelies,
Thanks for all the congrats. It's nice to see that people acknowledge that you word hard isn't? It's never happened to me before!

JS - i'm definitely with the impatience and enviousness of wanting a child. A friend of mine has just posted a ultrasound scan of their second baby on facebook and i'm so jealous. The only person i'm not jealous of and i'm fully supportive of is my bestest friend who's currently pregnant. The one who's had all the miscarriages!! I love her dearly and to cheer her up i'm taking her to London this weekend to celebrate my birthday! Also I do hope you're feeling better!!

Dizzy/Quod - I'm training to become a qualififed and registered veterinary nurse.

Welcome Biccies and Good Luck Flirty. Let us know how the conversation goes!

I'm always thinking that i want to have one and be pregnant now but i know i should wait just in case i do fail my finals. Could you imagine the stress of having to revise and even do resits being pregnant and even having a child. I also have to work a year at my current practice once i've qualified however they don't stipulate that i can't be pregnant during this year so i'll simply go on maternity when necessary! Smile

Capreece · 17/02/2011 08:31

Hello again all - sorry I disappeared - partly starting new job, partly MN vanishing my 'I'm On' lists so I couldn't find you all.

Am enjoying the work, but also still half thinking I'm pregnant. My period lasted one day and despite some cramps I didn't need painkillers (so way milder than usual) and I've been feeling odd in the evenings - headachey and a bit queasy. Suspect it may be hysterical though. Feel like such a big silly

We've decided we're def not going on the skiing trip, because that's 2k we'd rather put in our house savings, so that's not a consideration any more - now just want to avoid Xmas ;-) May/June is a good time to start. We are, however, going to do a short city break, maybe to Florence, for our wedding anniversary :-)

So, how's everyone else doing?
x

AstroZola · 18/02/2011 12:52

Aww...Capreece...sounds lovely. At least you'll still be able to go somewhere lovely.

I'm off to London today for belated b'day fun with my best mate. We'll be staying in my parents pub with my sister too....it'll be loads of fun! 4 days off work!! whoop!!!! Hope you all have a fab weekend. xxx

Capreece · 18/02/2011 14:37

That does sound fun :-) Enjoy it!

Very few things are as good as a really nice girlie time with your friends.

JustShagging - are you OK? You sounded a little glum recently...

x

JustShaggingForNow · 18/02/2011 14:42

Hi Ladies!

HAPPY FRIDAY!
Sorry if I have been a bit glum of late. All the work stuff is getting me down and it's stopping me from sleeping propperly etc. Had a good meeting in London this week adn hopefully that means we will get a dedicated Marketing person so that there will be less pressure and stress for me.

So looking forward to the weekend as it's been a long week. Might do a bit of holiday shopping tomorrow and see if I can find a few bits for India :)

Capreece · 18/02/2011 16:18

Hope you have fun with the holiday shopping. That's the plus-side of all the shops getting their summer gear in stoopidly early :-)

I'm feeling a bit glum atm too, truth be told. Love the new gaff, new area and new job, but kind of hoped I'd have met a couple of people to get friendly with by now. Lucky I love my husband so much, cos he's pretty much the only person I see regularly except for work people, who are all nice, but mostly older than me (or 10 years younger). I've tried joining social groups in the area, but so far no dice. I'm kind of at a loose end. I have one more cunning plan and then I'll just have to wait till DH knocks me up so I can join that NCT group and meet some women my age who live round here!

Bah. A touch of the Friday glums methinks.

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 19/02/2011 11:48

Hey Ladies

JS hope your holiday shopping was fun?

Capreece sure it's only a matter of time before you meet some friends.

Well not only have I got this ovarian pain back I've also got an epigastric problem :-( it's either acid reflux, stomach inflammation or gallstones, feels like I've got a ball of fire with extreme and sudden pain. So have to go for another ultrasound and a camera down my throat ( not looking forward to that)

On the upside we're going to Ibiza for a week in may DD can't wait to see Thomson the dog again Grin

Capreece · 19/02/2011 14:25

Eek - that sounds horrid Darcies - hope they find some answers for you.

My FIL swears by hot cider vinegar and honey for his acid reflux... personally I would have thought it would make it worse - but go figure!

Just in case anyone cares - I'm really loving the new job. It's as if the roles involved were picked especially for my experience and tastes and it's sub-contracted, so I have flexible hours (completely flexible) and can choose to work from home as and when I want. Fab. Perfect set-up for being a WAHM, no? ;-)

My broadband isn't working but just wanted to say I am still 'here'! I can't catch up properly til broadband is fixed which hopefully will be Tuesday! Will be back then! Love to all! x

DarciesmumandTTC2 · 19/02/2011 20:26

Capreeece thanks don't think cider vinegar is the answer for me. Somethings not right ESP considering I'm on 60mgs of Lansoprazole a day which is a gastro resistant drug and it's not stopped the pain :(

Capreece · 20/02/2011 07:23

Oh, I wasn't suggesting it would make a good replacement for medical treatment Dacries! Just commenting on such an odd treatment for acid reflux... though i suppose vinegar is alkaline...

Jeez. Why did I wake up at 6am on a Sunday morning when I so obviously need the sleep to make my brain function adequately.

Hope you get some answers (and a cure) soon!
