I think I ovulated on CD19. Due to DH work commitments we only managed SWI once but that was on CD19. I know a BFP is still possible but we did only do it once.

It's too early to test but I have all my hopes of a BFP running through my head and symptom spotting. My body has been cruel in the past though and got my hopes up only for AF to appear.

However, this evening I am feeling quite nauseous and have had feelings like ligament pulling in my abdomen. Also slightly tender boobs.

I'm 8dpo and just want the next week to be over so I know!!!

Feel better for getting that out!

same here SES, still falling - so glad i doubled up on wine supplies yesterday!

all this mums-netting and i havent even worked out the due date yet - im slipping in my crazy obsessive ways, better get onto that one now.

SES did you say you just got your period or are you in the wait at the mo. christmas not a good time for the wait, its either drink and be guilty or dont drink and regret bothering not to.

essenceofSES · 18/12/2010 12:39

I'm on CD10 so gearing up for SWI Grin

I think my due date if SWI successful this month is around 5th Sept...

I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....I am not obsessed....

Hi Kitty always good to meet fellow obsessives keen POASers. The acronyms are a bit odd when in full (would never refer to my kids as 'dear son', not that they aren't but still). I guess they can make it a bit easier/quicker to type though. Am completely with you on the baby dusting bit though - that one is really not for me. Not come across GOFing before - what does that one stand for?

We have about 3 inches of snow today, absolutely beautiful and a clear blue sky. Just waiting for it to freeze overnight - don't think we are going anywhere for the next few days. Really should have changed my tesco delivery from Monday to last night. So its a good job I stocked up on wee sticks last week, have my priorities Xmas Grin. Have about 6 tests waiting for next weekend - I reckon I can test on Christmas day.

essenceofSES · 18/12/2010 13:03

Hello larus :) Great to be able to test and hopefully get that BFP on Christmas Day!
GOF= Good Ol' *uck!

Still snowing here. Nearly a foot deep now!

Right my MN working from home time is over and I need to get DH and DS organised with some lunch!

OP posts:
Ilovekittyelise · 18/12/2010 16:10

what is GOFing? i've never referred to my hubby as DH before - on occasion FW but i, trying to be polite before i know you ladies better!

i put in an amazon order yesterday - twinset of clearblue digital and a box of sticks for the monitor. the experience was quite alarming - the bit with the suggested products came up with a 'menstrual cup' - has anyone else seen this before, it is about the most gross thing i have ever seen or heard of, and the best thing it can say about itself is that is saves 97% on average 'monthly' costs...oh dear.

SES where are you based? im in buckinghamshire, we have quite a bit of snow too.

ovumahead · 18/12/2010 18:20

Hi all. I've been CRAP at waiting out the 2ww - only 4 DPO and two tests done already, both negative! Bah! Someone tell me stop!

Ilovekittyelise · 18/12/2010 19:30

stop!...seriously even an ultra early implanter with an ultra early test would be lucky to get a positive at 10dpo...i only ever managed 15 dpo with a very sensitive test!

CrazyAlien · 18/12/2010 22:01

hey everyone,

well my AF is due anytime from yday to erm.. no idea lol. I have sore boobs but same as usual PMT signs, just wish I could have 28 day cycle!
Been to London today leaving behind no snow... to come back to 4-5" lol, very pretty btu a shame to have missed the snowfall.
London was manic, missed an appointment I had and then gave up on seeing anything else!

x

DontEatOrangeSnow · 19/12/2010 09:26

Hi everyone, I'm 19dpo and BFN, but looked back and last pg got my BFP when I was 12 days late, so am trying to holding off until Weds, and praying the red witch stays away

Fx for the Xmas day testing, now that would be an awesome present! Xmas Grin

essenceofSES · 19/12/2010 14:34

Hello all! DS just having a nap so thought I'd check in!

ovumahead - Kitty is right, 10dpo is the very earliest I think a test would pick up a BFP but the majority would be 14dpo or more. Don't waste your money!!
Sending you some patience vibes :)

Dont - sending you some patience vibes too! I would expect that a BFP would probably take a similar length of time to how it was before for you.

CrazyAlien - hope you had a good time in London! So frustrating that early pg symptoms are so similar to PMT symptoms. Our bodies can be so cruel sometimes!

Hello everyone else - larus, sausage, kitty, rugby, never and anyone else lurking!

Snowing here again - I've had enough!!! Hoping I'll be able to get DS to nursery tomorrow and go to work. Should be the busiest week of the year for us retail types

Ses - hello! Kitty - I'm in Buckinghamshire too!

Am getting grumpy. I don't know if its because:
a) - I am due on in about 10 days Xmas Sad
b) - My 19 month old DD is driving me potty
c) - I am snowed in
d) - My mum is annoying me
e) - My amazon orders haven't turned up
f) - DH didn't do all the jobs he was meant to do at the weekend....

Siiiighh.....

Ilovekittyelise · 20/12/2010 11:19

hey sausage i was almost wondering if you were my neighbour who is TTC number two but her number one is a boy! dare i ask where in buckinghamshire? im in princes risborough (well, on an ice rink just outside it LOL!)....i somehow managed to drive in to work in marlow today...

i am so glad my fertile period is drawing to a close. i was so stressed with the whole thing this month that i didnt enjoy the weekend of being trapped in the house having unfulfilling sex opportunity to spend some romantic quality time together that was timed precisely around happened to coincide with my fertile time.

now for the crappy two weeks.

Ilovekittyelise · 20/12/2010 11:19

looks like my crossing our didnt work. you all know what i meant?!

TheFantasticFixit · 20/12/2010 12:43

Oh hello everyone! Smile

I'm technically 2 days over due (I'm sorry in advance about the non use of the acronyms.. I am learning) for my period in 2nd month of TTC. Tested yesterday; BFN. (groan).. am anxiously nipping to the loo every five seconds praying that AF hasn't arrived and then having a little victory dance when it hasn't, but for goodness sake I am sending myself doodalally! No 'real' symptoms either; except for that I don't feel like I am going to 'come on' just yet. Heavier boobs, but not as sore as normal, slightly bloated feeling with some lower gripey pain in my lower abdominal area (but not cramps so much). Haven't been my usual argumentative (Blush) self in the run up to AF time either which is very unusual. But then still a BFN yesterday.. ARGH! Need to pee quite a lot and had a very odd few burpy/windy days about a week ago but to be honest I think that I am starting to imagine everything now in the desperation to be pregnant! Have spent a small country's national debt on HPT as well Wink.

So.. hello again and any advice, or warnings to step away from the bleeding HPTs before I go completely insane would be useful! Grin

sausagewrappedinbacon · 20/12/2010 14:20

HPTs? Home pregnancy tests, oui? GOD how bloody expensive??!!!

Still don't know what GOFing is...

Kitty - wow! I'm down the road! Near Great Missenden Xmas Smile And wtf what on earth is a menstrual cup? Is it one of those mooncup jobs? A friend of mine swears by it. I can't think of anything more bleeurgh. What do you do when you're out??

essenceofSES · 20/12/2010 17:27

Hello!

Welcome TheFantasticFixit :)

GOF = Good Old F*ck!!

DH working late tonight so not much chance of one of those here though! Hopefully tomorrow Grin

Snow and ice still bad here. Took me an hour to drive DS 6 miles to nursery this morning! Then still had to get to work after that!

I'm sure that must be a mooncup. I like the idea of being environmentally friendly but really??!

saus - you're grumpy list sounds all too familiar!

Right, sorry to post and run, DS needing my attention!

OP posts:
Ilovekittyelise · 20/12/2010 17:38

Ha ha ha im laughing at the GOF; oh and also quite pleased we can have a few days off.

sausage what a small world! the roads around you must be bad the snow's normally rubbish in your parts - I used to work in Uxbridge and take that route and would avoid like the plague.

menstrual cup looks wrong doesn't it...hadn't allowed myself to think too much about the technicalities of being out and about with it - what do you do, pop up to the communal sink and give it a rinse?!

what are people's thoughts on the 2ww and drinking? my husband is showing a new side to his personality on which i am not keen; hes keeps commenting on how I shouldnt drink blah blah blah. it is becoming something of a bore.

ovumahead · 20/12/2010 17:57

Ilove I've been having the odd glass of wine and I'm 6DPO but I'm surprised by this - normally I wouldn't touch booze if I thought I was pregnant, but I've been quite stressed recently (and more stress today - just found out my grandma died last night Sad) I think it's probably ok so long as your measures aren't 'home' measures that are massive! And a glass of wine isn't actually half a bottle. I guess you just have to do what feels right.

On a similar note, are people avoiding caffeine whilst TTC? What's the deal with that these days?

Thanks all for the advice about not testing so bloody early! Bah. I'm mad with myself for being so... mad. What is wrong with me? I'm really desperately searching for early pregnancy symptoms too - felt a bit queasy last night, and it made me feel happy. Felt knackered yesterday - happy. etc etc - what a weird world TTC is!!!

Hi Fantastic! - welcome to the gang!

essenceofSES · 20/12/2010 18:06

alcohol - I'm still BF DS (although only morning and evening max) so have no more than 1-2 units 2-4 times a week. I really don't think it is a huge issue during the 2ww though - only once implantation is established, by which time all us obsessives would be fully aware anyway!

caffeine - I don't drink tea or coffee but my weakness is diet coke. Ever since DS we have switched to the caffeine free version when at home. Some people would say why bother if there's no sugar and no caffeine! For me, I think I need to try and drink more water.

I'm hoping DS goes to sleep easily tonight. With DH late, I could do with a bit of time to write the last of the Christmas cards and do a bit more wrapping up!

nannyl · 20/12/2010 18:51

Hello
Can i join please

According to OPKs / CBFM i ovulated today (day 14) ( chart as well and normally get my +ve OPK on day 15)
Have been SWI the last few days and will be for the next few days as well Wink

Have been alcohol and caffein free since 1st Nov (in prep for TTC in Dec) and also avoided all aspartane since Augast!

Wont be drinking a drop at Xmas!

Have drunk loads of grapefruit juice these few weeks and will be switiching to pineapple juice tomorrow!

Ilovekittyelise · 20/12/2010 19:03

Hey Nannyl, congrats on the positive...i had my CBFM peak Sat/Sun - looking forward to time off sex LOL!

is there a special secret about grapefruit and pineapple juice and the timing of each? I could always do with a few more strings to my bow of obsessions....!

sausagewrappedinbacon · 20/12/2010 19:17

What's CBFM? And an OPK? I need to look all this up really, don't I Xmas Blush

Ovum - so sorry about your Grandma Sad

I'm business as usual re the drinking - I mean, I'm not at the vodka at 8am, but the odd glass or 2 every now and then. The day before I found out I was pregnant with my DD I was out for an extremely boozy dinner with a friend, ending up me waltzing around Leicester Square buying a 10 pack of fags to smoke whilst waiting for the night bus home (when I lived in London). Pleased to say that I haven't smoked since, but quite glad I went out in style! Xmas Wink

Kitty - quite agree, its bloody awful round here. Did you hear about the results on the HS2 today? Pah.

Are you all using ovulation kits etc? I always know when I ovulate because of that TMI alert, well, you know, gunge.

Am being summoned. Ta ra!

ovumahead · 20/12/2010 19:18

Grapefruit and pineapple juice, nanny??? Do tell!

Caffeine and alcohol free, eh? Gosh not me. I'm obsessive, but I couldn't cope without my 2 cups of tea a day!!

Desperately need to do more exercise though... Anyone else struggling with this at the moment?

larus · 20/12/2010 19:33

Hi all and am really sorry to hear about your Gran ovumahead. Hope everything else OK.

I do drink a bit when TTC, not really sure on the official advice bit, but to be honest, if I didn't drink at all in the 2ww or when TTC would have been a very dry year. I figure that a bit won't hurt and if when I get a BFP will give it up then.

nannyl · 20/12/2010 19:56

CBFM = clear blue fertility monitor

OPK = ovulation predictor kit.

Im sure i have read that grapefruit makes CM (cervical mucus) more sperm friendly (ie drink lots in week 1 and 2) and pineapple juice helps implantation (ie drink weeks 3 and 4!)
