I think I ovulated on CD19. Due to DH work commitments we only managed SWI once but that was on CD19. I know a BFP is still possible but we did only do it once.

It's too early to test but I have all my hopes of a BFP running through my head and symptom spotting. My body has been cruel in the past though and got my hopes up only for AF to appear.

However, this evening I am feeling quite nauseous and have had feelings like ligament pulling in my abdomen. Also slightly tender boobs.

I'm 8dpo and just want the next week to be over so I know!!!

Feel better for getting that out!

Good luck with DP larus

RugbyWidow7 · 10/12/2010 10:20

Morning,

Hi Crazyalien and sorry your af has arrived Strumpet! I only have 5 more days to wait, then I may well be in the same boat.

JRs, I'm off to see DH today for the weekend and have a lot of apologising to do for being such a bad long distance wife!

Good luck to everyone still hopeful for this month!

larus · 10/12/2010 10:38

Sorry AF caught you as well strumpet. And thanks for the luck...

Much as I love Christmas, all the parties etc it does put an extra obstacle in the way of the SWI time. Was a bit Blush yesterday as convinced DH to stay in last night to make time for SWI - and have been asked by a mutual friend why he he had cancelled. Really didn't know what to say as not sure the truth would have been a good idea.

neverlookback · 10/12/2010 14:06

so glad i saw this thread!! im on the 2ww i have 7 days left to wait, im ttc no 3 and im on cycle 2 got pregnant 1st month last time so hoping it wont take long as i am the most impaitent person in the world!!
does anyone think those tests that say you can do 4 days before due are any good or do i just have to sit it out till after my due date!! good luck everyone x

essenceofSES · 10/12/2010 20:50

NeverLookBack - welcome to the thread of obsessiveness and impatience!
I think the early tests sometimes give false negatives but never a false positive. In my experience they can prolong the agony!

Strumpet - sorry AF got you too

Larus - good luck! Sounds like you could have done ok with your timing! Tough with the DH's evening out though. You're right, probably best not to explain! I'm impressed that your DH gave up an evening out for SWI. My DH has kind of got to the "you just want me for my sperm" stage Blush

JRs - it's those pesky hormones to blame for a lot!

RugbyWidow - enjoy your weekend!

My DH is out at a Christmas do tonight so I'm MNing and catching up on the soaps! I've lit a fire and got my bottle of Magners :)

Two week wait over for me this month AF is here, surprisingly spot on time after a 28 day cycle which is good, they seem to vary a fair bit but I'm not sure why. Feeling a bit crap about it but it means that I now have a chance of conceiving a baby on Christmas day!! How epic would that be. Good luck everyone else!! xx

larus · 11/12/2010 11:33

Hi never. The tests don't give a false positive but they can pick up the so called chemical pregnancies and early MCs, which is why they sometimes show a positive and then a few days later a negative Sad. I think also that some do say they work before AF due, but the sensitivity can be quite low and so its possible to get a false negative - they do get more sensitive with time.

Having said that, its not unusual for me to test early - hard to resist particularly with the cheap tests available!

raspberry sorry AF got you as well, but a Christmas baby would be epic - particularly managing to fit in the SWI time - presume you won't have a house full of relatives Grin.

raspberrytipple · 11/12/2010 11:36

we will be in a house full of relatives but its a big house and my room is at the back away from everyone else so as long as I'm quiet it should be fine!!! My mum knows we are trying for a baby so she would probably march us off up the stairs if she knew I was ovulating, she's very excited! Grin

larus · 11/12/2010 11:47

Good luck with that raspbrery. Just don't let on to your mum - she may take on direct action! Xmas Shock Xmas Wink

essenceofSES · 11/12/2010 21:05

raspberry - Christmas Day is looking like our best opportunity next month too as we fly to Ireland on Boxing Day to stay with DH's family. Not a lot of space to ourselves so I'll have to hope I don't ovulate next month!

ROFL at larus suggestion of your mum maybe taking direct action though! Grin

I've been feeling really down the last couple of days. Kind of angry at the world and I hate feeling like it. Not sure if it's just arrival of AF and the hormones playing up together with the disappointment but I feel I just need to step off the rollercoaster of life for a couple of days. So much to do and so little time.
Tomorrow we're having an NCT Christmas get together and I really don't feel like going but I'm sure DS will have a great time and I'll enjoy it once I'm there. Maybe an early night will help!

Anyway, I'm fine really and just rambling now! Hope you all have a great weekend!

Hi, could I join? I'm 12dpo and wondering when to test. My last pg didn't show positive until well over a week late, and didnt have any symptoms either not that it's stopping me imagining having all sorts of twinges

Fx for everyone waiting!

larus · 12/12/2010 13:45

Hi dont. The 2ww drives me mad too. Even when I know that it is too early to have symptoms, its amazing how many I can find. Not helped by my mum retelling me that she was sick every day when she was pregnant with me, starting from the day they started trying .

Takes me a while to get a BFP too - dh always wants to know why I test the week before day AF due as his logic is that any BFP won't show until I am 2 weeks late, so why waste the sticks testing until then. Not sure he quite gets the whole obsessive thing. Must hide them better next time...

essence completely understand the disappointed bit. Really surprised myself last time by being a bit overly emotional at its appearance 1 weeks early, which didn't help. Are your NCT friends understanding of problems TTC?

essenceofSES · 12/12/2010 21:28

Hello and welcome Dont :)
That's a tough one with knowing when to test. I'd wait until AF due date is passed and then go for it but bear in mind your past experience! When is AF due?

Larus - thanks for understanding. We're at the stage in our NCT group where other than the one pg lady, the rest of us are all being a bit cagey about ttc#2. One of the others did ask me if we I wanted DC#2 and I just replied saying that I'd love to but it didn't happen quickly or easily for us last time so we'll wait and see.

Hope everyone else is doing ok? Anyone due to POAS?!

OP posts:
DontEatOrangeSnow · 13/12/2010 06:42

Thanks larus and essence it's due tomorrow, so am thinking Wednesday then it's the first official missed period day, and maybe every few days from there - hoping I get that far and the red witch doesn't visit by then

I would hope that NCT would be understanding if some have been in the same position, we're trying for our 1st so get asked every so often when we'll start trying, I just say in a while

raspberry good luck stealth-SWI in a house full of relatives!

RugbyWidow7 · 13/12/2010 10:21

Good morning everyone. Really hoping to hear some bfps from the group soon...good luck.

I have to wait until weds - finally it's nearly hear. I'm still away and have left all my tests at home so can't test until thurs morning earliest! It's a good way to stop yourself testing early... in theory (unless I happen to wonder into a Boots today ;-).

Great weekend. V tired though. Only one more party to get through this week!

neverlookback · 13/12/2010 10:29

hiya im going to try and hold off until friday which is my due date, were going out all day sat to manchester xmas markets so ill need to know if i can drink or not!! Last month i had comvinced myself i was pg had so many symptoms!!! this month im really trying to calm myself i dont really have anything to suggest i am, feeling pretty emotional and quite sad, but im usually like that when im due on anyway but found out yesterday my ex husband is getting married again in June at a really expensive gorgeous hotel, im quite jelous id love dp to propose and make an honest woman of me but he is in no rush but says we will in a few years because he knows its important to me, (but not him)
anyway back to the subject in hand what does everyone think of the fertility kits? i did try this month but got a really strong positive for 3 days in a row??? we did swi 5 days out of 7 around then so hopefully will be enough, weve hardly done it since it quite puts you off doesnt it!!
Donteatorangesnow: fingers crossed for you, you sound like you have a lot more paitence that me!!

larus · 13/12/2010 14:30

Rugby I would accidentally fall into a Boots. Or any chemist or supermarket. Then you are all ready to test on Wednesday Xmas Grin. Glad you had a good weekend - from memory you were catching up with Mr Rugby?

We got the tree up yesterday - looks fab, although 1 smashed bauble already. Still not sure if it was due to the cat or a small child, as the room was empty when I found it! Have my suspicions though.

RugbyWidow7 · 13/12/2010 17:09

Hi Larus - yes we had a lovely weekend thanks - albeit hectic catching up with friends for Xmas celebrations. So nice to be reunited with DH for a few days though.

Feeling a bit fed up today and wondering if I have af symptoms. Can I ask those ladies who have children...do you remember if you had sharp stabbing pains like a kneedle around the uterus area when you conceived? I have a feeling they may be af symtoms, but don't remember having them before.

Thanks

neverlookback · 13/12/2010 20:18

i had quite strong period pains that yes only lasted a couple of seconds as far as i can remember, with my first i kept saying no im going to come on ive got period pains but never did! ive just bought 10 high sensitivity pg tests of ebay for 99p so if they come before fri theres no way ill be able to hold off!! silly me

DontEatOrangeSnow · 14/12/2010 05:28

neverlookback you are stronger than me if you do, AF due today and already POAS - negative :( I'm just waiting for the red witch now and trying not to remind myself that last pg was negative for over a week past due date

rugby I can't help with that sorry, but I did get pains which I thought must be OV as had OPK+ the day before

DontEatOrangeSnow · 14/12/2010 05:36

Sorry meant to ask, larus did you only get BFPs at 2 weeks late? Mine ended in MC so wondered if that was the reason, or if successful pg's could test late too Hmm

larus · 14/12/2010 11:36

Hi dont. I have a terrible memory, but dh did remind me that for both previous pregnancies it took until AF was about 2 weeks late before I got the BFP. Must have been very frustrating. Although think I prefer the term red witch to AF - AF is convenient to type but a bit odd when I think what the abbreviation stands for.

Not sure on the MC thing I'm afraid - am lucky in not having had one and have 2 lovely boys. Think I must have low hormone levels or something so the tests took a while to register. Hasn't stopped me from testing daily regularly this time around though.

I don't remember having any of the symptoms of implantation either - although bit Xmas Blush as do recall being certain that I was pg despite the BFNs. Have started my avid symptom spotting now as am in the dreaded 2ww and trying to ignore the fact that I don't feel pg and therefore am probably not.

neverlookback · 14/12/2010 13:00

yeah sometimes it takes longer for there to be enough hormone in your wee to make a bfp, it took my friend to be around 2 weeks late before it showed bfp so hang on in there.

hi larus,im not feeling pregnant at all so im prob not either, i do keep having mild period pains and i dont normally get until a actually start bleeding so you never know it could me implantation pains as i did have these both before, i keep seeing 2 magpies all the time and im getting all superstitious thinking its good news!! wouldnt you think they would of invented something that would just tell you straight away!!! so your ttc no 3 too, we must be mad!! deffo no more after this for me i cant stand all this!!

DontEatOrangeSnow · 14/12/2010 17:04

Thanks and fx for both of you, how long do you have? I had a massive mild teary strop this morning and decided that's it I'm not pg and now waiting for the red witch (better than AF) so I can try again. I have weird pains but am assuming it's 1st proper one after mc so bound to be different

RugbyWidow7 · 14/12/2010 17:41

Cheer up Don't, it's not over yet, try to stay positive - I have been feeling v emotional and on the verge of tears all the time too. Also v irratable and stroppy with DH and generally not great to be around; though he's been lovely.

I've just broken my 2 caffinated drinks a day rule - I'm sooo tired and can't believe I have to go out again tonight!!! Last one for the season though I hope. huh.
