I think I ovulated on CD19. Due to DH work commitments we only managed SWI once but that was on CD19. I know a BFP is still possible but we did only do it once.

It's too early to test but I have all my hopes of a BFP running through my head and symptom spotting. My body has been cruel in the past though and got my hopes up only for AF to appear.

However, this evening I am feeling quite nauseous and have had feelings like ligament pulling in my abdomen. Also slightly tender boobs.

I'm 8dpo and just want the next week to be over so I know!!!

Feel better for getting that out!

Thanks rugbywidow Xmas Grin I'm sure one break in the rules won't spoil anything. When are you due, and when will you test?

I took another this morning and there was a really faint line after the time, so still not a positive but no red witch either. I think I'm trying my best to assume the worst this month then I'm not disappointed

Another work lunch today, so that should hopefully take my mind off things

Still fx for everyone x

ovumahead · 15/12/2010 08:51

Hi all - can I join your gang? I'm only 1DPO but already frantically wondering whether I might be pregnant - slightly ridiculous, I know!

neverlookback · 15/12/2010 13:08

Dont, i think you are, i had a really faint line with my ds and thought i was just making it up as dp couldnt see it but 5 days later is was a full on bfp, so theres still chance!! fingers crossed to you.
Im due tomorrow, thought the tests i ordered would of arrived this morn while i was out shopping so i didnt but any but they aren't so i have to wait till tomorrow, had a lovely daydream while i was driving home about how to tell dp etc, silly i know!!! from one hour to the next ive convinced myself i am then im not!! but im doing better than last month id done 4 test by now!!

RugbyWidow7 · 15/12/2010 16:21

Hi ladies Don't, do a different type of test and see if it's stronger....

I was due af today so waited to do test until approx 5 mins ago. I got 2 faint lines - which means positive! I then downed a pint of water and did another test and got the two lines again. One paler than the other but nevertheless, a fairly obvious line. Wowzer!

DH is in London miles from me (until Fri night) and I had planned not to tell him over the phone but he knows today's af day so will ask on the phone tonight. I just can't believe I have to tell him over the phone! As it's inevitable I may send him a pic of the tests, to make it a bit more special... Xmas Grin

Good luck everyone and welcome Ovumahead

ovumahead · 15/12/2010 20:38

Rugby that's very exciting!!! Congratulations! Have you been TTC a long time?

I don't feel remotely pregnant at the moment, but I do feel ill (sore throat etc) and have been ill whilst TTC - does that have any impact on whether you conceive or not, does anyone know?

My DS is coming up to 3 years old, and I'm sure when I was pregnant with him, although I did have early pregnancy symptoms before my AF was due, I don't remember exactly when they started... hmmm... Not very patient, me.

RugbyWidow7 · 15/12/2010 20:53

Thanks Ovumahead. Actually no. This was our first month so just keeping everything crossed. I have made a GP app tomorrow morning. I'm avidly reading to fill my head with as much info as possible. When are you due af?

ovumahead · 15/12/2010 21:23

I'm due on 27th Dec, so will try to hold off testing for as long as possible - but will test before xmas as I keep thinking a positive test result would be a great xmas present for DH!

essenceofSES · 15/12/2010 21:36

Rugby - congrats! Sounding good :) Did DH ask over the phone?

ovumahead - hello! Good luck on your 2ww!

Dont - FX that you get a stronger line!

never - well done on your restraint!

larus - any further symptom spotting?!
As for your comment about "falling into Boots", I work there (pharmacist/area manager type) so "fall in there" nearly every day! It is very tempting to buy every ov and pg test but at the same time don't want staff to start gossiping!

I feel a bit of an imposter on here now as you're all headed towards testing and my 2ww has been and gone. However, I'm excited for you all :)
Also, I'm now on CD7 and headed towards SWI for a September baby so hope you don't mind if I stick around!

Wow rugbywidow that's awesome news!

My faint line is just a blank this morning maybe was a smudge Confused so am still playing the waiting game now and trying to stay sane

neverlookback fx for you testing today, and I don't think daydreaming is silly, well, I do it all the time!

ovumahead that would be the best Xmas present :)

DontEatOrangeSnow · 16/12/2010 06:31

Actually I think I may have imagined the line yesterday :(

larus · 16/12/2010 09:28

Rugby brilliant news - really pleased for you. Heres to sticky beans!

Essence you work in boots!! Does that mean you get a staff discount and can pee on even more sticks? Xmas Grin. Can appreciate the trickiness of buying in your place of work though - do boots do internet orders/deliveries?

Am still symptom spotting - feel sick (have eaten chilli crisps this morning, which is pretty revolting before 9:30 but I was hungry) and am very tearful (probably because I worked yesterday and childminder took our youngest on santas sledge, so gutted I missed out). So not sure that any of the symptoms are genuine. Probably not a bad thing as have a job interview this afternoon...talk about terrible timing. Have just been checking up on maternity pay/rights etc and think it is a bad idea.

dont sorry the line has disappeared - they can be elusive buggers. FIngers crossed for testing tomorrow?

neverlookback · 16/12/2010 10:22

congratulations Rugby you must be made up for it to happen so quickly.

ive been to the supermarket this morn but didnt buy any tests as i was sure the ones i ordered on monday would be here but the post has been and they are not, so i really am torturing myself now, i paid higher postage aswell to get them here quick!! think im gonna have to nip out again if i cant hold off, am supposed to be helping out at school tomorrow but ill just not be able to concentrate so need to pluck up the courage to say i cant do it!!!!

neverlookback · 16/12/2010 19:04

i couldnt wait any longer so i called at the chemist and did a test after school and guess what it was a BFP, only faint but its deffiantly there!!!! im gonna do another one in the morn too, i wrapped it up in xmas paper and when dp got home gave it to him and said father xmas had been early, he had no idea then when it started to sink in he was shaking opening it, haha. Hooray i couldnt of gone on much longer with the 2WW.

So good luck to everyone and i hope to speak to you soon on the other topics x

RugbyWidow7 · 16/12/2010 19:24

Congrats Neverlookback - great news!

essenceofSES · 16/12/2010 21:46

Never - that's great news Grin What a lovely way to tell your DP!
Don't be a stranger, would be good to hear from you if we're all still chatting on here!

Larus - oh yes, staff discount and advantage card points make it very tempting! And yes, there is delivery through internet shopping too. In fact I often do a bulk order of nappies and wipes when they are on offer. Maybe next time, I'll sneak some sticks to pee on in there too!

Dont - you're well and truly on that 2ww rollercoaster. Hope the smudge was misleading and you get your BFP!

I'm having a quiet evening here as DH is stranded in Aberdeen because of the snow! The airport has been closed and so he's travelling to Edinburgh to get a flight back down tomorrow.

Hope everyone else is doing ok this evening!

Omg, I'm here too (would you believe it!) Just popped on here for a nosey as yes, we are TTC. I'm not sure I know all the acronyms, but its ovulation 'week' and theres's been 2 bonks SWIs! Haha! Tried last month, to no avail, so here we go again.

Anyway. Can I join in? Xmas Smile

essenceofSES · 16/12/2010 23:20

Saus, me ol'mate! Great to have you join us and yay for ttc Grin
Well done on 2 bonks /SWI / GOFs We're really finding it not that easy to time it well due to work, DS and DH trips away with work.

How's your DD and life generally?

I've been getting a bit down and disheartened as we've been trying for 4 cycles now. I know it's not long but it feels like forever! Gearing up for some SWI next week!

Look forward to catching up with everyone again tomorrow!

DontEatOrangeSnow · 17/12/2010 05:43

never that's great news!! what a good Christmas present!

Hope everyone else is doing ok? essence I hope you're feeling a bit better today?

I still have BFN at 17dpo. Am trying not to get my hopes up but I can't help thinking of last time when it took 12 days to get a BFP

neverlookback · 17/12/2010 09:48

thanks everyone, i did another test this morn and its deffo bfp, a bit stronger yeah!!! now im gonna try and keep it a secret till xmas day to tell my family but i dont know how ill do it as i usually go round after school on a fri and have 1 drink!! got a doc app too at 3.50 so they will proberly ask why so will end up telling them no doubt!

RugbyWidow7 · 17/12/2010 13:40

Congrats Never - fab news!!

essenceofSES · 18/12/2010 10:49

Morning everyone!

Hope you're all ok and not too snowed in!

Dont - have you tested again?

How are all the pg ladies? Any symptoms?!

I've got my first high on my ClearBlue Fertility Monitor this morning so set for a week of GOFing. In reality this will probably be DH complaining that he's not had any for 10 days and suddenly it's all systems go again! Apparently, he's "not a machine" and I only want him for one thing! Could be a good answer to what to do when we're snowed in though Grin

Talking of which, I'm in Surrey and it's like a blizzard out there at the moment. What's it like with anyone else? I was meant to be at work this morning so I'm working from home instead and DH and DS are amusing eachother!

Ilovekittyelise · 18/12/2010 10:56

Hi ladies this looks like a lovely thread...i almost feel normal in your company. its good to at least know there are other mentalists out there too who cant barely remember the last time they peed directly into the loo (so are you stream testers or do you have a designated loo-side receptacle?)

im an obsessive POAS-er too. had what would probably be termed a chemical pregnancy last month. i knew i was pregnant but didnt get a positive until i was a couple of days late, even with the 'early' tests; maybe that was something to do with it being unviable, who knows!

im using the clearblue monitor which is fantastic - used to be really regular but had a late termination earlier this year (T21) and my cycle is now anybody's guess...just had my egg in window this morning so lots of sex and waiting now. what does 'SWI' stand for - im not a massive fan of the acronyms to be honest, i have sex and periods and no funny little aunties and i definitely dont baby-dance or baby-dust or whatever it is Grin.

nice to meet you all xxx

i am determined not to test until i am a week overdue (if that happens) this time!

essenceofSES · 18/12/2010 11:03

Hello kitty :)

SWI - is sex with intent Grin
I'm not a hige fan of acronyms tbh, unless they make me Grin

Fingers crossed for you (and all of us!)

OP posts:
Ilovekittyelise · 18/12/2010 12:09

i like SWI hahaha...

good day to be snowed in. so here's how mental i am - i'm thinking about in 15 years time when i tell my lovely child (in fact, probably twins, gorgeous, boy and a girl) that i conceived them in a beautiful snowstorm the week before christmas. do i need proper psychological help?!

essenceofSES · 18/12/2010 12:23

If you need psychological help, then so do I! I love day dreaming about the future :)

We've got about 6" of snow here now and it's still falling!
