I think I ovulated on CD19. Due to DH work commitments we only managed SWI once but that was on CD19. I know a BFP is still possible but we did only do it once.

It's too early to test but I have all my hopes of a BFP running through my head and symptom spotting. My body has been cruel in the past though and got my hopes up only for AF to appear.

However, this evening I am feeling quite nauseous and have had feelings like ligament pulling in my abdomen. Also slightly tender boobs.

I'm 8dpo and just want the next week to be over so I know!!!

Feel better for getting that out!

The only thing I've heard about pineapple juice in this kind of area is that it makes, ahem, sperm more, ah, flavoursome. Apparently Xmas Blush

Thanks nanny!

essenceofSES · 20/12/2010 21:30

Hello nannyl

ovumahead - I'm really sorry I didn't acknowledge your sad news about your grandmother in my earlier post. I am thinking of you xx

saus - love your story about the day before you found out you were pg :) I used to smoke a bit but actually don't remember my last one. Quite unusually I just kind of gradually reduced and then didn't have any more!

exercise - I always think I should exercise and lose a bit of weight but it never quite happens....

I'd heard of grapefruit juice but not pineapple juice (for either use!)

OP posts:
ovumahead · 21/12/2010 07:51

I thought pineapple juice was supposed to soften the cervix in preparation for labour i.e. getting the baby out! Didn't realise it could help with getting them in too! Wow. Pineapples, eh? I wonder if people in tropical regions who eat pineapples as a part of their regular diet are actually more fertile?!

Thanks all for your kind words about my grandma. Unfortunately I'm having to contemplate travelling the length of the entire country in order to attend her funeral this Thursday (I live in the South, funeral is in the North). The prospect of such a journey with all these weather problems fills me with dread, and so close to xmas too! Eeek.

Ilovekittyelise · 21/12/2010 07:57

really sorry to hear about your grandma ovumaheada; what a horrible time to lose someone just before christmas. drive safely xxx

TheFantasticFixit · 21/12/2010 11:10

Yes, so sorry to hear about your G'ma Ovumheada, such sad news, and especially at this time of year. Hope that you and your family are okay.

Another day, and no sign of AF yet but I have a creeping feeling that it is on it's way. Still victory dancing on the loo though whenever it hasn't come! Am going to resist the HPT until Friday though now as that will take me right outside my 35 day cycle (the longest cycle I have ever had)and then possibly (so scared of jinxing this by thinking too far ahead and getting excited)it could be good news.

Has anyone else had rather irratic periods though since TTC? I usually have AF arrive around the 22md - 25th of the month and last month it came on the 19th; the earliest all year, and now is still delayed. It's quite bizarre and bloody typical that it all goes a bit haywire just as I am desperate (twigs that that might be the reason actually) to be pregnant and symptom spotting every five seconds!

Is it also a bit wrong that I am literally on AF watch at the moment and have even taken to reporting back to my DP every 2 hours or so that it still hasn't arrived?!

Oh god, I think I have lost my mind. And I think I just felt the first twinge of a period cramp as well

Grin
larus · 21/12/2010 11:51

Hi fixit. My cycle is all over the place at the moment as well - 3 weeks to 7 weeks between the red witch. It completely play havoc with testing/symptom spotting for me as well. I have no idea if its just that my cycle is erratic now or if I keep having v early MCs/chemical pregnancies and to be honest, at the moment am not sure if I do want to know.

We have about a foot of snow here at the moment - very beautiful, but am facing the prospect of a rather empty christmas dinner table. I want turkey and all the trimmings!

TheFantasticFixit · 21/12/2010 12:20

Ah larus; red witch indeed. Isn't it funny how you go praying for your AF whenever late and you didn't want to be pregnant to absolutely hating any symptom in your body whatsoever that may indicate it's arrival? I swear I am a step away from shaking a fist at the heavens when it next arrives and yelling 'BUT i will be a GREAT mother! Please just give me a bloody chance!' (no pun intended BTW)

My sister is doing my head in as well. She is practically as obsessed with me being pregnant as I am and unfortunately in my excitement of us deciding to try and few months ago I told her Too Much Information.. and now she phones practically every other hour asking if I am up the duff, and giving me advice on how to be or asking what symptoms I can feel Right Now for her to google.

I have to admit that this morning I turned over from This Morning (day off - I know it is crap but I love Holly and Phil for some insane reason) just because Holly is pregnant and I am fed up of not being, and I found out some time ago that Holly and I share the exact same birthday and so even more it feels Just Totally Unfair Right Now.

Good god I am a loony nutter aren't I?

SEE? AF MUST be close to be this mad...!

TheFantasticFixit · 21/12/2010 15:27

AF has just arrived. FFS.

Ilovekittyelise · 21/12/2010 15:50

really sorry to hear that the red dragon lady got you; on the plus side at least you can drink as much vodka as you like and dont have to be subjected to the spousal abuse of being nagged for drinking until your period arrives approximately several days after everyone else has finished having fun without you....

TheFantasticFixit · 21/12/2010 16:48

Ouch Kitty - I hope he doesn't! Thanks for your nice words though, they do help. Bloody hell! I swear I have NEVER in my life seen as many pregnant women in town as much as I did today. It's like they all came out to taunt me in some awful Handmaid's Tale nightmare.

I'm barren! BARREN!

You are right. I can drink as much as I like over Christmas now at least. Lots of nice wine. Tell your DP to piss off. Now is the time when you in that 2ww when you desperately need that vodka to steady your nerves! For gods sake, my sister got pregnant the night she downed shots and drank about 3 bottles of wine! (TYPICAL)

Ilovekittyelise · 21/12/2010 17:27

fixit i agree. i think i am having some kind of epihany; i need to actually stop obsessing about bloody pregnancy and remember the things i used to do for fun before i became possessed. gosh, if i remember right even sex was fun!....

DP is lovely but i think hes just concerned for me on so many levels and deep down probably thinks i lost the last one because i had a massive bender the night before i found out (truth of the matter, who knows, but any bean of mine needs to be a bit tougher than that...)

Ilovekittyelise · 21/12/2010 17:28

ps im glad there are some ladies here who share my outlook on life xxx

larus · 21/12/2010 19:42

Its not just the booze. Ever looked to see how many cheeses are unpasteurised? Not meant to have those. Or cold meat. Or a dippy egg. Or.. sure there are more, but can't think of them. And there is a lot of that sort of stuff around over Christmas.

Sex for fun? Is that a GOF then rather than SWI? If I have my acronyms right. Not had one of those in ages - always seems to be the 'with intent' bit round here. Bit sad when I think about it. Must have a GOF over Christmas.

Ilovekittyelise · 21/12/2010 20:09

to be honest im never going to be one of those that obsesses over cheese and meat and so on and so forth. having had a T21 baby it kind of put all that into perspective; the tiny things within our control are a drop in the ocean compared to what mother nature can do.

louby86 · 21/12/2010 20:48

Hey! Can I join your thread? I think I need help! We're in our first month of ttc and i'm already obsessed and symptom spotting!

essenceofSES · 21/12/2010 21:42

Welcome louby - you've come to the right place for obsessing Grin

FixIt - sorry the red witch got you :(
If I were you, I'd be enjoying a nice glass of wine (or 4!) this evening!

ovumahead - let's hope the snow (and the roads!) clears for your journey. Would be good not to have that added worry for you.

Kitty - I agree about keeping a bit of perspective but it is so hard. As for your massive bender the night before you found out you were pg, I'm sure it really wouldn't have made any difference so please don't let that dwell on your mind.

Larus - no true GOF here for months either - much more of me telling DH that we need SWI Blush

As for me, I decided tonight was the perfect night for SWI but DH has come down with manflu! I'm hoping for a quick recovery in time for tomorrow....

OP posts:
louby86 · 21/12/2010 21:59

I'm glad I've found the right place then! I came off the mini pill at the end of Nov, I got a bit of cramping around the 10th which I thought might be ovulation and from this week (warning....tmi) I've had brown cm but no sign of AF. I googled it and I'm trying to wait a couple of weeks before I test but the suspense is driving me insane! I know I'm most likely not pg but the tiny possibility of me being pg is taking up every moment of the day!!!

sausagewrappedinbacon · 22/12/2010 18:42

Kitty - I've just re-read your initial post on here. What an awful thing for you to go through, but brave you. Big un-mumsnetty -kinda hug for you.

Fixit - bugger and arse. So sorry to hear your AF came. (btw never heard it referred to as that before I came onto mn!)

As for cheese and meat obsessiveness. I must admit I was a little obsessive when I was pg with my dd. By the time I was a heffalump around 35 weeks that totally went out the window! Did sneak an odd bit of sushi or pate here or there throughout though!

Am due on in one week. Time for the obsessing to start....

essenceofSES · 22/12/2010 20:26

saus - one week of obsessing starts here then Grin Fingers crossed!

louby - I completely understand what you say about ttc being all-consuming. I try really hard to keep perspective but it's hard!

FixIt - how are you doing?

ovumahead - hope all goes ok tomorrow

Hello kitty, larus and anyone else around :)

My ovaries are screaming out today for a GOF but DH's manflu seems to have developed into a throat infection and he came home and went straight to bed. No one's fault but I'm just so fed up. Every month something seems to get in the way of a few well timed GOFs - either DH working away / late or DH being ill. I just hope ovulation is delayed and DH feels better quickly and that all of that happens before Sunday as there'll be no chance of any SWI whilst we're away in Ireland!

OP posts:
essenceofSES · 22/12/2010 20:38

OMG - DH is so pathetic (and I'm so unsympathetic!) He just sent me a text from his sick bed that just said "help". I went up there and he said he was in so much pain "this is worse than manflu". I repeated my offer of painkillers that I'd made 2hrs ago and he finally took them! Reckons he'll get up at 9pm!

What's the use of him being married to a pharmacist if he won't take the drugs?!

Sorry - I'll calm down now!

OP posts:
larus · 22/12/2010 21:40

Sounds like you've had a difficult year kitty. Hope this one is easier.

I think man flu is doing the rounds and has made it to our house as well. No GOFs for me then. I understand the irritation frustation SES. Although as manflu has made it onto Wikipedia, it must exist Xmas Winkwiki man flu

Am gearing up for testing this weekend. And Christmas obv.

essenceofSES · 26/12/2010 07:02

Morning all! Hope you all had a great day yesterday - we did :)

Anyone with any success on Christmas Day testing?!

DH ended up at the doctor's on Christmas Eve, getting ABs for a throat infection. He's turned a corner though. Here's to next month for us I guess!

Today we're off to Ireland to see DH's family. Very excited about DS seeing all his cousins (8 of them!)

Hope you all have a good Boxing Day Xmas Smile

louby86 · 26/12/2010 20:42

Hey!

Hope you all had a lovely Christmas! BFN for me I'm afraid although I think I may have been a bit early to test! Weird cm has stopped and I keep feeling like AF is going to start but no sign yet! Fingers crossed!

DontEatOrangeSnow · 26/12/2010 21:39

Hi everyone, sorry I haven't been around for a while, I got a BFP Christmas Eve on cycle day 38 Xmas Grin
