I think I ovulated on CD19. Due to DH work commitments we only managed SWI once but that was on CD19. I know a BFP is still possible but we did only do it once.

It's too early to test but I have all my hopes of a BFP running through my head and symptom spotting. My body has been cruel in the past though and got my hopes up only for AF to appear.

However, this evening I am feeling quite nauseous and have had feelings like ligament pulling in my abdomen. Also slightly tender boobs.

I'm 8dpo and just want the next week to be over so I know!!!

Feel better for getting that out!

Hi Loup i havent tried the charting temps yet it all sounds very complicated is it just a case of waking up and taking your temperature? My af is due anytime now as my cycle can be anything from 28 to 31 days. Last month I passed a clot (sorry tmi) about a week befor it was due which was strange. I may have to go for the CB one its just a shame its so expensive. The next couple of days should give am an answer altough I dont feel any different

Loup23 · 03/03/2011 17:22

hi fedup i hope this month is your month but if not, just knowing when AF is coming is a good start! Temping is ok once you get in to the habit, just wake up and take temp, record it - once you look at two months together it can be a lot easier to see when you might have Ov'd - alternatively try fertilityfriend.com (or co.uk) you put your info in there and that calculates O for you... Good luck

HopeCalvary · 03/03/2011 17:40

In answer to the how long does sperm survive question. I have read that some die off in a number of hours and some can live up to a week. The majority are expelled with the fluids soon after.

The reason that sperm may sometimes live more than a few days depends on how your mucus is. If it is watery, it can assist the sperm. It is more like this around ovulation. It is more hostile to sperm when you are not ovulating.

The female egg normally lives between 12 and 48 hours. Which in all leaves a fertile window of about one week. However, some women ovulate more than once, and some not at all even with and lh surge ( the hormone that releases the egg)

HopeCalvary · 03/03/2011 17:43

There is a really good ovulation calendar on Momswhothink. Btw, I am on one week into my two week wait and also really impatient! Did any of you get pregnant?

LittleSquirt · 04/03/2011 09:04

Morning everyone, may I join too please? I posted on this thread the month before last (first month of TTC after the pill) but only been lurking since. So this is now cycle#3 and I am 6DPO and desperately trying to forget that if I am PG, implantation (and therefore start of potential symptoms) could happen any time from tomorrow! At least it's nearly the weekend so I am hoping that having DH around will help take my mind off it. It's also our wedding anniversary next week and we are going out tomorrow night to celebrate so that should help! I have already decided that I will be drinking (I reckon that if I don't drink just in case, I will definitely NOT be pregnant!).

Is anyone 6DPO today too? I am planning on testing at 10DPO on Tuesday. I know it's still really early but I got a BFP with my DD at 10DPO so I know it's possible!

Sorry for a very me,me,me post and good luck to everyone. Thank God for MN and the handholding we can count on during our 2WW!!

Hugs all round! x

jamama · 04/03/2011 09:39

Not sure if I've posted on here before but have done fair share of lurking, so hello to all. Am almost at the end of 2ww, but had ib last weekend at what I thought was 8dpo, based on CM and cervix position, and have tested +ve on FR - however am still petrified that this was too early to test, I don't feel like I have any other symptoms (other than feeling nauseous, but that is probably because I'm so nervous), and worried I may only have detected chemical pregnancy, so am waiting until Sun, when AF FINALLY due to test again and then book in at Drs. Good luck to everyone, fingers crossed.

LittleSquirt · 04/03/2011 11:08

Hi jamama. Sounds like great news to me!! I had ib with my DS and tested positive on a FR at 10 DPO with my DD and both were fine.

Congratulations!!! Grin

LittleSquirt · 04/03/2011 11:10

How many DPO were you when you tested positive on the FR by the way?

Daiso · 04/03/2011 11:10

Have already posted a seperate threat for this but advised it may be a good place to post on here too.

I had SWI on Sun and Tues. I POOT'ed and on Mon afternoon got a big smiley face. ( i could have got a smiley one on Sun afternoon but POOT'd in the morning and got a blank one but i read on Mon that you shouldn't POOT in the morning as doesn't really pick up LH surge)

Anyhow, yesterday i got some cramps and niggly stomach pains and this morning when i've wiped it's a light brownish colour ( sorry if TMI)

I didn't think IF it had worked that it would have implanted yet anyway so really really puzzled as to why i am getting the brown discharge.

Any ideas anyone?

Thanks in advance ( am new to all this and will probably bug you all with my silly questions) x

fedupwelshmum · 04/03/2011 11:19

Just a couple of silly questions....what does AF and IB stand for? Daiso are you using the CB ovulation kit? I have been using the cheap ones of the internet and keep getting negative readings. Im new to all this testing as with my two DD i never had any problem...didnt realise it could be so stressful its so hard not putting pressure on yourself and then not to be disappointed. I get the brown discharge generally about 3 days before my period, i have read somewhere that its old blood but it could be implantation bleed also.

jamama · 04/03/2011 11:20

squirt based on [TMI alert] CM and being able to feel an open and low cervix (I know, blee), I was 7dpo when I started spotting, 8 for a VFP on FR; repeated on Sun to get a slightly less-faint +ve; this was 6 days before expecting AF to start. Holding breath all week really... suddenly have an insight into what the next 8 months could be like. Dull pain roughly where I imagine uterus to be today, hopefully not the start of early AF pain. crosses fingers and toes.
daiso not TMI at all - and hope you get the answer you're after attempts to cross more fingers realises can't type anymore

jamama · 04/03/2011 11:22

Welshmum
AF = Aunt Flo or period. Silly but quicker to type.
IB is implantation bleeding, which is there to scare you into thinking insides falling out, along with chance of getting pg for the month.

fedupwelshmum · 04/03/2011 11:38

thanks "jamama" fingers crossed for everyone...i dont feel any different at the moment AF is due between today and Sun it seems to be difference every month which is why its hard to pinpoint good days. We dtd twice during the goods days but i think I would feel different by now

LittleSquirt · 04/03/2011 11:47

Hi Daiso and WelshMum!

jamama - you got ib at exactly the right time (implantation can be any time between 7 and 12 DPO) and you got a BFP (well, 2 by now actually!) so you should try to relax. You are definitely pregnant! I don't blame you for wanting to test again on the day AF is due though, I would do exactly the same! Grin

Daiso does sound too early to be ib so it could be OV related bleeding. One of my friends got this last month, it was red/brownish and definitely at the time of OV so she's pretty sure that's what it was. It only lasted a day.

WelshMum - it's not over till ERTD (Evil Red Tide of Doom - prefer it to AF Grin) turns up so fingers crossed for you. Reading messages on here and going on my own experience, you sometimes get a BFN when you think you've had loads of symtoms but could well get a BFP when you don't seem to have any at all!! When are you doing to test? Good luck! Smile

fedupwelshmum · 04/03/2011 11:57

Littlesquirt im going to leave it until at least Sunday...i normally get a fair amount of brownish discharge a couple of days before so im sure I will know over the weekend. I know I shouldnt compare pregnancies but on my DDs i had very sore nipples and nausea from the beginning. I have lower abdomen type cramping which could be either! I have never been this obsessed with anything....i should chill out

fedupwelshmum · 04/03/2011 11:58

Out of interest should I be classing the first day of brownish discharge or first day of red blood as first day of period

Daiso · 04/03/2011 12:22

That's just what I thought littlesquirt re being too early for IB. Never had it around OV before but it is prob that. Saying that, if it is due to OV then I think we've def missed it this month!
Oh well, good luck tbo all. And congrats sound like they are due for Jamama!
Thanks ladies xx

hartey · 05/03/2011 23:17

Evening ladies - currently enjoying Wine with hubby and getting all excited about SWI intent yet again this month!
Only thing is after epic cycle last month (44 days!) I will be investing heavily in OPK's - or maybe I should just go for the clearblue monitor - is it any use and will I actually save money in the meantime? But already way past day 1 in current cycle so still need OPK's!

Anyway bottoms up and best of luck to everyone still TTC!

hartey · 05/03/2011 23:18

er - didn't mean for the last post to be pervy in anyway shape or form!

Just excited as hubby's sister had her third baby today so we've got the "aw bless" feelings going on!

fedupwelshmum · 07/03/2011 09:32

Well im have signs of AF arriving :( but am thinking of investing in the CB ovulation kit this month...my cycle is all over the place anything between 28 and 34 days so its so hard to work out when im fertile. Is the clearblue one good? I have been using the cheap ones off the internet and havent had one positive reading so think its maybe worth spending the extra money. I have two DDs so hopefully nothing has changed with me my DPis diabetic and am not sure if that can affect his sperm count in anyway...im determined this month!

LittleSquirt · 07/03/2011 10:07

Morning everyone! Sorry I went AWOL for a few days, we had a busy weekend!

Welshmum - sorry you have signs that AF is arriving. I feel totally sure that I am not pregnant either this month although AF not due till sometime Thu-Sat. Because I'm a loon, I tested this morning but obv it was a BFN. I'm only 9DPO today anyway so doesn't mean that much but as I said already, I am totally convinced that I am not PG this month.

I use the CBFM and I think it is really good. It generally gives me around 3 days of "high" fertility before the 2 "peak" days. Personally I really like knowing that I we doing the SWI on the right days. Having said that, we are now on cycle#3 and still nothing so far! I conceived DS on cycle#4 (although we weren't trying properly the first 2 cycles) and DD on cycle#1 of proper trying so I know I have been very lucky so far and should just be patient but it's so hard!!! :-(

Daiso - how you are doing? Any more brown spotting?

BTW, "welshmum", my gynea always told me that CD1 should be the first day of "red" blood. According to him, brown blood is same as just spotting.

Daiso · 07/03/2011 10:18

Hello all

Little squirt
Had some thick brownish discharge yesterday but only a small amount. This morning I didn't have anything but when i just went to the toilet before, i had when i wiped some bright red blood ( i would call it fresh blood) only when i wipe and not massive amounts. I am also having some funny goings on in my tummy ( well kinda lower left) felt like a period cramp earlier but to be honest, i could just be imagining all this!!
I have had laser treatement for a corroded cervix so i have suffered from a red bleed in the past when i wiped so it could possibly be this. Oh i dunno - it could be all manner of things!!

Anyway, am now on an 8 day wait....

How is everyone else getting on.

emmaloupolman · 07/03/2011 22:13

My af came this morning so back on clomid as of 2morrow

phooey · 08/03/2011 07:55

Hi all Smile

I'm 10dpo in my first ever 2ww and beyond excited!

I'm probably imagining it but I have a tender, crampy stomach and had nausea the last couple of days. Sooo hoping it's first time lucky for us.

AF due Mon, but I'm not allowed to test until Thurs when DH gets back from being away with work, hold my hand and give me strength please!

Daiso · 08/03/2011 12:19

Hey all

This is only my 1st TTC cycle and already I'm driving myself mad!

Yesterday and today I've had a funny taste in my mouth and convinced

myself that it was metallic (probably just need to brush my teeth!)

Today I woke up feeling sick and then realized it was hunger

pains..... Oh and last night me and hubby were watch OBEM when I

pulled up my top, whipped out my boob and virtually shoved it in his

face asking him if he thought my nipple area was darker I'd bumpy??

Poor bloke looked scared half to death!! MUST STOP OBSESSING. (am only

6po and even that is guestimated!)

If I can't hold out until AF due (16th) then I am wondering which test

to take - I'm going to try and hold out as long as poss but would 13th

Sun be too early if I did a FR test? I'm just soooo impatient and with

it being first time, just getting over excited even tho I know not to

be.

How is everyone else doing on the 2ww?
X
