Had an mc and need some wine, chocolate and somewhere to moan and cry? This is the place to be! We chat a LOT so it can be hard to keep up, but everyone on here is great and will hold your hand until you get your BFP.

Tis with a heavy heart that I remove sunchild as requested - please re-add in at any time if you want to rejoin x

Also sorry there were too many newbies for me to keep scrolling back to find all the details without messing up - if you want to go on the stats then please copy and paste and add yourselves in. WTTC = waiting to TTC, UCL = usual cycle length, CD= current cycle day. WTF refers to the first mad cycle after mc before you get your first AF, and we usually refer to the cycle after the first AF as cycle 1. Please shout if that doesn't make sense!

Ive added Bfps but haven't graduated anyone - anyone ready to take the plunge?

I know the days are wrong for dachs and choccy but again can't scroll back without losing, so please could you amend so it's right.

Anyone heard from freezing or tamashii ??

Goodness I feel like I've missed pages of posts! Am not even going to try to namecheck everyone, but do want to say hello to all the new joiners, although I'm desperately sorry that some of you were suffering over Christmas. For those wondering about whether to wait for an AF before starting to TTC or just get going in the WTF cycle, it's of course entirely personal, but I think it's worth trying to imagine both scenarios - not working, the period can be quite a difficult reminder of what you've lost. If you're timing sex, going back to that can feel like a huge drag and emotionally not easy to cope with and equally, although a positive is what we all hope for, as the PG ladies on this thread can prove, PG after MC is nothing other than terrifying - a bit of emotional strength to deal with that can go a long way.

Speaking of emotional rollercoaster - Nix that's fantastic news!!!! Go little bean, heartbeat and good size for dates is the best outcome you could have hoped for. Hooray! And a lovely due date...here's hoping you get to celebrate your birthday and then get the ultimate present (ok, with a bit of work...but the best things usually do take a bit of struggle) Grin

And wombat!!!!!!!!! amazing!!!! Right come on my chart...go wonky! Grin How many DPO are you? That seems really early, but brilliant. If it all goes through, do they just assume that because it lasts the chromosomes are ok?

Pink well, it sounds like it was a good investment. Better to know than not? Is the next test a hysterosalpingogram? I wouldn't be too worried about the Xray involved. If it's a specialist gynae test, then they will have calculated the the doses very carefully.
There are several ladies on the 'testing' thread that have had it - maybe worth asking on there? Good re ovaries and lining though. No more Doooooomgle.

Good luck with this cycle dachs. This may be a really insensitive question but if your egg quality isn't good in this round, would you start thinking about trying with donor eggs? I was pondering this question myself (because I read a blog where the woman is also wondering whether to try with donor eggs or adopt...her egg quality being not great and also she has a history of pre-eclampsia, high clotting risk and premature delivery on her 1 successful IVF pregnancy). My friend has to use donor sperm and reckons that if she had to use donor eggs then so be it. But I know it's not an easy question for lots of reasons. So feel free to ignore completely Blush It's just that you said you were going into this round with a more pessimistic outlook so I wondered if you were developing a Plan B. or is Plan C.

dropdeadfred I'm so sorry to hear about your 10 miscarriages, and terrified that you still lost your latest with all that treatment. I'm lined up for aspirin and clexane if when I get a BFP, and am trying to remind myself that it's not a magic bullet. But really wish it did come with a big guarantee of positive outcome. Should you just give up? Well, that's a big decision, and not one to make while you're grieving. Give this one time, for you and DH. I guess you know that with your age, the chances of just poor egg is increased, but you are obviously still popping them out so I don't think you need to rush anything.

Sorry to see you go sunchild, I hope that the decision is ok for you at this stage but don't forget that it's ok to change your mind. There is 7 yrs between my DH and his brother, and then another 7 yrs between that brother and his step-brother. They like the gap.

Owl when's your scan next week?
Pretty did you get to talk to consultant or did someone call you back?
Hiding you're not the only one wavering. Apart from my rubbish symptoms I've had some promising waves of nausea and sore boobs. But..there's no way I'd have nausea caused by HCG yet, so it must just be progesterone-related and AF is just as likely to rock up than a BFP Sad
I think DH is getting hopes up this cycle too - he's aware of the charts and asked me what they were doing. It's going to be depressing if it doesn't work out, even more so than normal. At least I don't feel like it's just me being disappointed though IYSWIM.

We went to see the Peppa Pig stage show today - not as good as the Charlie & Lola one but DS enjoyed it and just about held it together to have lunch in some sort of peace as well. Small tantrums about leaving the theatre (didn't want it to end) and sitting in a highchair (he's a big boy y'know). But still, not too bad for a tired and over-excited nearly threenager.

Oh and I managed to get up to the hospital to get my slightly late day21 bloods taken. Then came home to a letter from consultant with my chromosomes result - normal - but they now can't find DH's aaaarrrrgh.

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 30/12/2010 21:50

sunchild so sad to see you go. All the very best lovely xx

Thanks for all your support. lady yep it's one of those things, think they shorten it to HSG? Whoever said about X-ray dose same as long haul-that is amazing! If someone offered me a trip to Australia I'd take it so prob shouldnt worry about that. Am also a bit worried about infection risk etc of doing something invasive but will do some non-doom related research. nix yep it might mean a blocked tube and also if it's a hydrosalpinx it might cause more miscarriage. BUT it might just be a blood vessel so trying to stay chilled. Radiologist reckoned get HSG but want to talk to normal consultant because feel like I can trust him. It's a bit hard because you've got to trust them but worry because it's private and it's in their interests to push for more tests.....

lady what an arse about losing DH's bloods!! Are they still looking or does he have to go in again? Good news about your chromosomes being fine

wombo sorry I dont know your story, have you had chromosomal problems?

aandr are you doing ok? Kat also thinking of you matey hope you're ok. Big waves to everyone else!!

spend most of the night crying even though I already had bfn before the witch arrived. Feel a bit better for it today though. Watching trash tv and drinking coffee. Got some good mates coming round tonight too.

RudolfThePinkNosedReindeer · 31/12/2010 07:59

Sorry kat that sucks :( at least today rather than tomorrow if she was coming tho-worry free new years eve drinking is the only silver lining I can summon up in afraid.... Xx

orestyemerrywombat · 31/12/2010 09:19

Crap. I'm sure it isn't going to stick. Boobs are deflating. Test still positive but fainter than the two I did yesterday. Crap.

The chromosomes thing is that I've been told that it.s highly likely that 1 in 2 of my pregnancies will be affected by a chromosomal abnormality. It shouldn't have any bearing on mc - that would be a seperate issue. There's no tests they can do so they'd be trying to tell from the 20 wk scan and if affected we'd have to decide whether to terminate Sad Impossile to say ahead of time how severe the issues would be.

Sorry for me me me post. I'm feeling a bit blue today Sad

WhenStNixgotstuckuptheChimney · 31/12/2010 09:28

Oh wombat :( ((hugs)))

OrangeGloss · 31/12/2010 09:49

Morning everyone? I have un-festived my name, and since my toe nails are now pink I have changed my name to something similar Grin

Can I be WTG at least until my scan at 8 weeks? 12 days and counting - and seriously bricking it in the meantime. An early scan would have picked up my last mc :(

Welcome to all the new people, and sorry you need this thread, but am confident you will be very welcome as these are all lovely ladies. Wellieboots Fred and Zam. Ochaye i got a pack of ovulation and pg tests from Amazon. The OPKs never gave a strong positive, and the pg tests didnt pick up pg. Hadrian you should have as much time off as you need. Jiggle my mum was so counter-productive during pg and mc I haven't told her this time :(

Owl thought it was you that replied to my post :) fx for scan, I appreciate how nervous you must be
Thanks Mama and glad to hear you got spoiled
Hiding offal craving must be a symptom :)
Nix congrats on the scan and your bean nice and snug, and good timing too
Pink I feel the same it's the same baby I'm waiting for, just delayed. Sorry for mixed news but there are positives to take from it, which is hard to remember I know
Wombat oh I am sorry, I really do hope it all works out ok (((hugs)))
Sunchild sorry to see you go and hope you're doing ok xx
Kat sorry she got you, the only benefit being you can drink tonight. Not much consolation I know

Sorry for long post, I missed so much!

OrangeGloss · 31/12/2010 09:51

DachshundsWantPuppies · 31/12/2010 10:56

bee about the eggs - I know lots of people feel differently about this, but DH and I both feel very strongly that we don't just want a baby, we want our baby, so using donor sperm or donor eggs is something that we wouldn't consider. We are beginning to feel like we're never going to be able to have a baby, and we've obviously talked about it and considered all the options, but the powerful driver behind wanting a child isn't just to have a child, it's that we'd want to see what we had managed to create between us. Selfish as this may sound when there are lots of children out there that need good homes, we wouldn't want to adopt either - I'd never feel like it was really my child, and I know I wouldn't love it in the same way as if it was my own. Please don't hate me for that attitude ladies...

Plan C would be give up the idea of a baby, move back to central london to somewhere really central so we have a much better commute and then live a decadent existence because we won't need to save money for the baby. Going on at least one really nice holiday every year. It would have to be somewhere with a small garden or roof terrace though, because if I can't ever have a baby I need to have my dachshunds around...

OrangeGloss · 31/12/2010 11:11

Dachs it doesn't seem selfish to me, I really hope this time you get some good sticky ones. Do you know how many eggs they got this cycle if you don't mind me asking? Sorry if you have already said and I missed it

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 31/12/2010 11:13

dachs you've obviously put a lot of thought into all your options and I dont think anyone is going to judge you for being honest and realistic about what you are able to do with those options. I think adoption for exampie is a fabulous thing to be able to do for a child but I don't think it's easy and strongly believe that you would have to be very committed to the idea to make it work, and in fact it would be very unfair on a child to embark upon something like that without being absolutely sure you wanted it or could cope with it. I'm waffling now but what I mean is that of course you're perfectly entitled to feel as you do and it's sensible to have properly considered it like you have.

Fx that you will get your very own baby soon and that this cycle works for you x

DachshundsWantPuppies · 31/12/2010 11:22

orange have only just started the cycle so am still on ovarian stimulation - they will probably be retrieving in a couple of weeks. You haven't missed any data Xmas Wink

Thanks for the good wishes. What are you all up to for New Year? DH and I aren't doing anything this year. I just hope that the neighbours a couple of doors down don't have the same kind of party they had a couple of years ago where they had a DJ in the garden with REALLY loud speakers until 4a.m. We got NO sleep and the dogs were really unsettled. The whole house was shaking. It was bad enough when we had lots of champagne in the house, but entirely alcohol free and crazed on hormone drugs I think i might end up getting arrested for GBH if it happens again!

kat2504 · 31/12/2010 11:23

Dachs I think you are much better to be honest about how you feel about the options available. Adoption certainly isn't for everyone. It isn't selfish to want your own baby, ultimately that's what we all really want on here, just some people have a different plan B if they can't achieve that. It's human nature to want your own baby. And I sincerely hope you can make that dream come true for you.
