wombat my chrimbo prezzie to myself this year is a monitoring cycle at a private clinic and as today is cd10, apparently that means dildo cam.... Not sure if they do more bloods today as well, I know I've got to have bloods taken after I ovulate (which means I'm going to have to chill out a lot more this cycle!!!)

Also...someone further up asked what dildocam was (Hadrian?) Dildocam is exactly what it says on the tin :) Ultrasound from the inside used if they're having trouble seeing what's going on with the external one, not nearly as dreadful as it sounds, honest.

great news nix and wombat wow how exciting, a line is a line hey!

Arse crackers-dildo cam sees fluid by one of my tubes. He says it might be nothing eg. Maybe a blood vessel or could be a thing called hydrosalpinx which is where there is fluid from a previous infection. He particularly thinks this could be the case because i had emergency surgery to remove my appendix a couple of years ago :( A quick look at dr google shows that not only would this cag a tube, it has been speculated that it could cause lower conception success rates due to fluid messing with the embryo. They say next step is to inject my womb with contrast dye and X-ray it to see exactly what's going on. I'm a bit worried about that tho because it's not a good part of your body to be x-rayed and also need to talk through what they might find and what the next steps would be. If it's just something that halves my chances of sperm meeting egg, I'm not bothered and would only contemplate surgery etc if it could cause ectopic or recurrent miscarriage. So no point in being zapped if I'd never follow up on results anyway. So have decided to phone consultant in new year and talk it through. In good news, ovaries look ok and womb thickness is good.

(((hugs))) for pink. Sorry you didn't get complete reassurance However it could still turn out to be nothing, so try not to panic too much until you know more. Wise idea to speak to consultant again in new year, which will give you a few days to calm down and think of all the questions you need answering. In the meantime, try not to google too much...you know that only leads to hysteria and doooooom... xx

Pink hugs lovely. Remember that google will always give you the absolute worst case scenario. What did the real doc say? Good idea to decide what you'd do with the results before going ahead with the next stage. I did exactly the same when I had my genetics tests. I didn't have the abdominal x-ray in the end because they said they wouldn't be able to offer antenatal testing whatever the results. They did however say that you get no more radiation from an x-ray than a long-haul flight, if that puts your fears about it into perspective at all?

Also, even the worst case scenario (one tube and halved conception rate) isn't necessarily a bar to a baby - plenty of one-tubed women conceive, it just might take a little while and that.s not unusual.

So pink.... what is cag a tube? or was that a typo? Does it mean that potentially you have a blocked tube? If it is as a result of infection, could they treat it? Is the dye XR the same as having tubes flooded with dye to look for blockages? If so several of my friends have had that done, and gone on to have children...!

Hi, just to say Im out again and away..was so convinced this month too, Made it all they way to CD28 and 2 BFNs before the witch arrived. We have decided to think again about #3, as the gap between DS and potential youngest will be too much (in our opinion) He will be 4 before a new baby thats not even conceived yet would arrive.

I also can't be doing with all this mentalling anymore, its not healthy and its making me depressed. So have decided to take a break after 8 cycles here with no luck.

Aah wonderful news wombat, that's so exciting...scary too but I guess that's what it's all about. Sounds like you'll get all the handholding you need here :)

Sorry the dildo cam wasn't totally straightforward pink. But could well be nothing to worry about...and maybe it's better to have all the information and be able to make choices than be in the dark about what's going on...? Although you probably don't need too much information Google-style!

Thanks for the dictionary assistance. Turns out I've had two dildo cams in the last week without realising...finding out my poor little bean is no more :( :(
