By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

Miffles · 19/11/2010 17:18

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Wow, busy Viroids. I can't keep up.

Congrats Darkstar we're getting a good run of BFP's. Who's next? Grin

escapeartist welcome back. Are there no instructions on the packets for your OPKs? First you need something to pee in. Gu ramekin pots are generally the recepticle of choice on here, though I believe someone once confessed to using a toothbrush holder. You pee into your pot then dip the white end in (mine has a line that says "max" on it and hold it there for a few seconds. You read the results within 10 mins. Don't be fooled though, the lines are not like a pg test. You need the test line to be darker than the control line.

On an OPK themed note, they're really beginning to feck me off. Has anyone ever tried to do a poo but not wee at the same time? Cos when you're OPK-ing you need to try to hold your pee for about 4 hours and not drink much either so you get really concentrated wee (TMI I know but stay with me). I'm sure I'm about to ovulate (there was going to be a whole other thread this morning about Who Stole My Pant Snot? but my computer wouldn't connect to t'internet so that one will remain unwritten - it's reappeared).
Aaanyway. I went to the gym after work tonight, needed to hold wee in so I could get back home and do OPK, but needed a poo. Could I stop it all coming out? Could I heck. Now I don't know if my -ve OPK is because I weed too early or if I'm not ovulating yet. And this is why we stay away from OPK's Viroids.

Miffles · 24/11/2010 19:02

PMSL Eskarina at your poo/wee challenge! I have never been able to poo without the wee. My sister once said she needed a poo so bad when she was driving, she stopped at a service station, did it. But forgot to wee and had to stop at the next service station to pee. Never ever understood that!!

Welcome back escape - in the nicest possible way, hope we don't hear much from you over the w/e, cos it means you're getting busy!

Darkstar - wow!! Amazing! Grin Grin Great news, well done. Heres to a sticky bean.

Vallinna - hope you get told what to do about your dose and things. Are they not too worried that your ovaries weren't more fizzy? Is it just a waiting game to see how quickly you respond? Sounds like you've settled into this clinic better than your last.

to Josie. So sorry to hear things are still crap in your world. I say go to the doc with stress and get signed off for a week. That will make them realise how much you do!!

In other news...ERTD has ARRIVED!!!!!! Oh yes. Grin (2wd - it means Evil Red Tide of Doom) I know we're not meant to rejoice at its appearance, but since I knew I wasn't pg, I just want to get going. So...I'm kind of waiting to see if this is full on start or just a spot. Need to decide if today is CD1 or tomorrow. But it looks like game on for clomid Grin

And....Vallinna - that means you and I will be on the 2ww together...buckle your seatbelts other viroids!

Eskarina thank you so much. I threw away the box (and with it the instructions) for the flight over. Hmmm... Sounds about right - now... to find a ramekin. I wish we had GU here in Greece too, but need to find another suitable container. Maybe some Total Greek yoghurt pots?

The poo without wee challenge is pretty hard. Not sure if it is even possible...

Miffles congrats on ERTD (though it can be a hard time) it brings a whole new months of JSing! Are you on Clomid already or are you starting?

Just found out a good friend is pg with twins! I am usually Envy but she has tried for 4 years and 3 IVF cycles and I have surpised myself at how genuinely happy I feel for her. Now... my turn please!

Eskarina · 24/11/2010 19:20

Escapeartist does this website help?

Miffles · 24/11/2010 19:21

I pee in a Jelly Pot, Escape...not as flash as these Gu ramekin girls. Total Greek - maybe a little on the large size?!

Waiting to start my first month of clomid. Trying since Jan, but only just got prescription, then had the longest cycle since coming off the pill! DH got poor swimmers, so we're trying clomid first, otherwise IVF.

Excellent news on your friend. YOu can't help but be pleased when you hear a story like that :)

SingingMog · 24/11/2010 19:27

Welcome back escapeartist, I can't help really as have never used them (relying on pant snot) but seems like you have enough advice anyway!

Miffles HUZZAH for your AF. Glad you are happy to see her Grin

Eskarina, I don't think it is possible, but I have wondered about it before in the time before TTC (to be now known as BTTC). I am obviously strange to be thinking about this BTTC!

2wd & Truffkin - gah at AF. If only we could punch the biatch in the face.... Wink and hugs.

Vallinna hope you find out if good/bad/indifferent soon. Must be awful not really knowing. Let us know what they say.

Josie you are having such a tough time, but yay for JSing Smile I really hope your work and yard situation improves soon. Big hugs and expensive virtual chocolates.

Miffles, we are doing a Christmas version of "Don't stop believin'" with my pop and show choir! It is a Christmas version because I have slightly altered the words to fit in with the idea of Mary & Joseph not being able to find a place at an inn and us offering them our support! I am quite cheesy sometimes Grin

DarkStar WHOOP WHOOP!!!

I have got AF-kind of pains but no AF. And they are not as strong as they would usually be. I am too scared to test because AF due 30th so think it is a bit early and I am scared of getting a BFN. Also scared of going to the loo and seeing AF. I know I keep saying we're not supposed to be trying until Feb but as there's a chance this month I will be upset if I see the EvilRedTide.... Confused

escapeartist · 24/11/2010 19:33

Eskarina thanks, will study this (and try not to obsess)

I will go on a hunt for the right receptacle, though at the moment finding it hard to remember to pee in the pot in order to do the opk. Asking myself if I can even be bothered with opk's. But bought them and have a few, so it might be useful, especially as last two cycles were strangely long (35 and 36 compared to my regular 31)

Miffles I have heard and read so many success stories with Clomid, hope this is your month.

Dynababy · 24/11/2010 21:03

DarkStar yaaaayyy!!!! Another BFP we are indeed on a roll!! Congratulations!!

Miffles congrats on ERTD! Bring oon the drugs and shag capes!

Josie sorry your feeling down, finger crossed you'll have some good news soon to celebrate. Have a

Vallina a but confusing but Friday not too far away so see what news it brings..hopefully v bubbly ovaries.

Eskarina pmsl at thought of trying to poo and hold in wee!! On the OPK's I don't think concentrated wee is mandatory, I've certainly never saved it up especially. Maybe you'll peak tomorrow? Keep checking you'll hunt it down. JS anyway can't hurt!

Mog your xmas show sounds ace! Hang in there and just see what happens..very hard to keep a meh attitude I know.

SingingMog · 24/11/2010 21:07

I know Dyna... I am desperate to POAS and is only 11DPO CD22 or 23 I think.... should I... shouldn't I.... ARGH! I know I want to. I might go and see how sensitive the tests I got from Sainsbury's are.....

santababy2b · 24/11/2010 21:39

Super busy, so just lurking.

Congrats on your bfp Darkstar! Grin

PMSL at trying to poo without weeing. This thread has the best discussions!

SingingMog · 24/11/2010 22:22

Did it. Should have waited! BFN... Raaarrr!

Truffkin · 24/11/2010 23:19

Hi viroids, have a raging headache so just popping in before bed to sing Cliff Richard's 'Congratulations' to DarkStar nice work lady!

No ERTD and temp back up this morning so not sure what's going on! Just got to get through tomorrow at work before our long weekend of fun and party time Grin

escapeartist · 25/11/2010 08:04

Mog surely it is very early... How long are your cycles normally. I would say there is still hope!
Congrats on BFP DarkStar - one of many on here I hope.

OPK was positive last night and with the present of pantsnot that morning I think I was indeed ov'ing... Bad news as DH not back until Friday :(
the good news is that I am getting a bit of pattern now, I seem to be ov'ing around CD20, which would have made my calculations for the first few months of TTC out by about 3 or 4 days. So maybe we don't have a problem!! (I am a hypochondriac who assumes we have a fertility problem after 2 months of unsuccessful trying...)Bring on Xmas (next ov) when I will be on holiday and hopefully relaxed enough to JS all the time!

cremegg · 25/11/2010 10:09

hey all, been a bit MIA this week, getting to end of school year so all a bit crazy!
yay to darkstar
hugs to josie how fabulous 'having' to a have a champers tho! hope work gets better soon and you find a new pad for horsey xx
vallinna all sounds pretty complex, fingers crossed for fri
eskarina lol to poo without wee, impossible i would say (maybe not so for a man??) but made me laugh!
yay to xmas jsing esca. me thinks pant snot should be renamed egg-nog for the festive 'period' so to speak.
mog argh to show, sounds stressful! i have almost forgotten what SOW are, current school just hands out a list of assessments to do? talk about killing education...anyway!
other news... boobs still damn soresensitive and concerned with size increase! in 34 E already?!?! no sickness yet but only 6wks so plenty of time for that.

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 25/11/2010 11:39

another good morning - it takes me longer and longer to read through the updates! Grin

and i was going to say something, but i can't remember what now....

never mind, you know i'm still here Grin

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 12:22

Grin at eskarina's toilet challenge. I'm with you though - impossible to hold it in mid-defecation Grin

escape I go for a small Nutella jar. They have pop-on/pop-off plastic lids which makes them pretty handy, and then can contain just the right amount of wee, I find Grin Have you thought about just doing temps instead of OPKs? I didn't use OPKs and I know they're tricky - but your temp should rise by half a degree or so and stay there after ovulation, and you should be able to see that this correlates with pant-snottage (sorry, egg nog Grin). Worked for me. Just had my scan and despite doctors and midwives telling me I couldn't be right about my dates because no-one has a 9-week cycle I WAS - thought I was 9+4 and was 9+3 Grin

Little arms and legs all wriggly, heartbeat beating, DH sweet and gooey Grin and Smile. Very happy Grin Grin Grin

Is the news sinking in darkstar?

cremegg my boobs were 32B before and I haven't had them measured but they're at least a C now - but all of this happened before 5 weeks. They've stayed the same since then. So maybe yours have had a spurt and now they'll level off?!

Hope everybody else is keeping warm!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 25/11/2010 12:26

ttl aww how wonderful, I love those first scan moments when you see your little one for the first time :) It makes the achingly full bladder so worthwhile Grin

The news is slowly sinking in (POAS again this morning, still +). I feel rankly sick already, did not have this last time! Slightly concerned it might be twins. DH would divorce me Grin

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 12:44

darkstar I didn't really fill up my bladder. I had a drink of sparkly water with my breakfast but that was it, and then the sonographer said 'next time you don't need to come with a full bladder'. But I don't think I did! Lucky!

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 12:44

PS - twins Grin

Can afford to be smug about this now I know it's only one for me Grin

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 25/11/2010 12:51

God, with DS I got it totally wrong re. bladder. I mean, how full is full? And we were kept waiting ages so I kept having to nip off and let a bit out, then worry that there wouldn't be enough so would drink a bit more, then let a bit out, then drink a bit more...

It made it hard to enjoy the wonder of the moment as all I could think was 'great, baby's alive, now let me up so I can pee!'

takethatlady · 25/11/2010 12:55

Grin darkstar. We got there 20 mins early and were seen straight away so I didn't even have time to get desperate!

vallinnapod · 25/11/2010 13:22

God lord Miffles - not sure this thread can take the 2 of us 2WWing!! Wink

I may be a bit behind you though, who knows. No scan for me tomorrow, just a blood test so guess I am pretty dormant. still, better softly, softly than OHSS...WAKE UP OVARIES!!

Cuteness TTL - I've just had baby cuddles with a friend popping in from mat leave. Wasn't remotely tempted to steal the baby so perhaps I am not as bad as I thought Wink

escapeartist · 25/11/2010 16:26

takethat I have thought about doing temps, but it sounds like such a faff and I never get up at the same time (and i think at 5am i would not be too happy to be taking temps) and I can imagine I would forget half the time etc etc etc. I prefer to just use the opk's (theoretically, only first month and not even a chance of JSing...) I got a positive last night, and a negative today which correlates with pant snottage/egg nog, so by the time DH is back tomorrow I guess it will be JSing purely for entertainment. Not that I am complaining Wink

What great news about scan. Very very exciting. Have you been telling people?

I have been feeling sick all week and the staff room has been full of speculation, which has p'sed me off no end. Coupled with a discussion about a couple who got married a few months after my DH and I and why they are not pregnant yet. Argh!

JosieSmith1 · 25/11/2010 16:56

Evening everyone

Thanks for all the good wishes and hugs everyone

Still having a shit time, burst into tears when I saw the snow this morning as it means horse is gonna be not only stuck at current yard but also stuck in her stable which she doesn't really mind but she has arthritis so could spell the end of her ridden career Sad. Plus I hate driving in the snow and DH had his driving test secretly booked this morning but it was cancelled so it looks like he might not be able to do it until the end of winter which is a major blow.

Nothing seems to be going right att he moment so I'm sorry I'll not be around much over the next couple of weeks but once I'm feeling better I will come back full of [happy]

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 25/11/2010 17:09

Even better if you come back full of baby Josie WinkGrin. We're here to cheer you up anytime xx

Bear hugs and xx for all
