By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

Miffles · 19/11/2010 17:18

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Not up for big squeezy hugs.

Grin NoMore for full of baby! I hope so but only managed to JS once this cycle so not looking good yet again. Plus with how stressed I'm feeling the poor thing would come out bloody neurotic! I tend to go into 'depressive' states ocassionally but can usually get through them until I feel better and can pull myself round but this time I can't see the light at the end of the tunnel, not if this snow keeps up, I'm terrified of driving in it but have to get to the yard that I hate and should have got out of sooner and DH can't drive on his own so there's no chance of him doing any yard chores for me so there's no possibility of a rest at all. Just don't see things getting any easier anytime soon.

Really sorry for being so miserable, promise I will try and be happier in future!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 25/11/2010 20:10

Aw Josie it's so shit that everything is piling on your plate all at once :( I wish there was something useful I could say or do that would make life easier.

FWIW (and not to be all cheery-anecdote happy because I know how annoying it is), my DS was conceived at the end of the worst year of my entire life - horrible family bereavement and ensuing fall out - DH and I weren't exactly setting the bedroom on fire and I thought it would just never happen. We had been trying for a year and I was at the end of my tether with it all, so much stress on top of everything else. But here he is now, asleep in my bed Hmm :) Just remember: where there's sex, there's hope Grin

Miffles · 25/11/2010 20:40

Can I just say, I'm loving having the graduates staying around with us....it makes it seem like a proper family. Always struck me as a bit unnatural for us to share everything to get "there" and then one by one our friends bugger off to the other side! Used to make me a bit sad. But it's fun hearing how things are. So thank you for sticking with us!

Definitely CD1 for me. So rang up today and booked: day 12 ultrasound follicle tracking (internal Hmm ), day 21 progesterone and then had to rearrange the consultant appt, cos he would've seen me before any of that happened! Will be going to 2 different hospitals and am hoping work will be kind. Vallinna - what have your work said about all your appts?

Got major stuck on the motorway coming home today....my DH was 15 minutes ahead of me, as we come the same way. It was great - we rang and chatted and compared where we were, etc. Told him exactly when we were having sex in the next month!!!

So so cold today isn't it?

This has turned into a general chat!!

Going to DH's ball tomorrow - in that tiny cocktail dress I am going to FREEZE!! But concerned, actually. Have a wax, nails and hair appt booked for the afternooon (day off - yay!) and am going to attempt false eyelashes too. Maybe a bit OTT, but should be fun.

Great story DarkStar - and it obviously worked again, the old sex thing! Don't worry about being miserable or down, Josie we all go through feeling like that. We're big enough to take a few tears if you need our shoulders.

TTL grin So pleased for you!!! how lovely! Now do you believe it? do you?

Josie hope things pick up up for you soon

miffles Have a great time at the party Envy What does that test actually mean? Is it seeing how/when you ovulate? Glad things are moving along though!

Still waiting for the red fecker. Gah.

NervousNelly · 25/11/2010 22:13

Just checking in as have been AWOL since falling out of bed my weekend away. Not sure I can remember half of what's gone on but welcome back to a few of our MIA viroids :)

Congrats to darkstar - yeah for the BFP Grin.

Josie sorry to hear you are having such a shit time. I believe this is a MN favourite, but remember "this too shall pass". Hope things look up soon :(

Hurrah for CD1 Miffles. About bloody time (pun not really intended, but sort of works Hmm). I agree with you that it's lovely to have the up-duffed viroids staying with us.

Better go, it's bedtime Wink (1 day pre OV!)

Miffles · 25/11/2010 22:25

oooo yes, meant to say congrats to TTL for actually seeing her little wriggler. How amazingly exciting. Grin

SingingMog · 25/11/2010 23:02

Escapeartist I am a bit like you as only my 2nd cycle since stopping the pill. But so far 29 days seems to be the norm.

Cremegg show will be fun. Tonight was not that fun, had to sit through entire presentation evening just to sing one song at end with choir. They were good tho Smile I'm proud! LOL at your 34E, what were you before? I'm a 34DD anyway....

TTL, scan sounds amazing and exciting!

Josie

Miffes I'm glad things are moving on for you now. Hope stuff starts happening! Have fun at the ball Grin I agree with you and Nervous about having the family stick around Smile

I'm going now, so knackered as didn't get in from that achievement evening until 9.45pm. I got to work at 8am..... bleurgh. Will probably be on lots over the next few days as DH's birthday tomorrow so finally going to give him the new COD. Plus ERTD might arrive...

Ooo and bought a "slanket" for DH to try out, they are ace!! I have got it on now. Might get another one in a more girly colour for me Grin

takethatlady · 26/11/2010 08:01

singingmog don't tell me about slankets. I can't get any more slobby than I already am. I have been working from home 2/3 days a week and usually shower and just put PJs on all day. DH rarely sees my hair brushed, and when I'm retching over the loo he (Mr Squeamish) has to leave the house or put his headphones in so he can't hear me, otherwise he'll be sick too. I am SOO tempted by the slanket but it might be a sexless step too far Grin

darkstar loving 'where there's sex, there's hope'. Contender for the next thread title I reckon Grin

Big hugs to josie. Don't worry about only coming on here when you're happy - that's the best thing about virtual friends. You can't intrude on them at an inconvenient time - they've logged in so it's their fault! And you're a viroid happy or sad Smile (and upduffed or not - thanks ladies Smile)

milano yes, I believe it. Wish I had the photo though, to keep re-persuading myself. Can't WAIT until the next scan. Maybe then I'll really really really believe it Grin

Can't believe you're still waiting for the fecker. Why do our bodies just suddenly screw up when ttc? Sounds like you must have ovulated much later than you thought though, so perhaps there's hope?

BrassicaBabe · 26/11/2010 09:23

Morning lovely viroids! Not had a chance to post much this week. Pesky boss hanging around too much at work. Well, working from home today, huzzah! (Fire blazing now too!)

Congrats darkstar! Fab news!! Loving the "sex is the answer" anecdote. Grin

Much PMSL at eskarina and the poo/wee dilemma. But PMSL more at your sister fogetting to wee! GrinHmm

Sorry you are feeling shit josie. You don't need to stay away. We're here for the crap times as much as the good ones. Smile

The scan sounds wonderful takethat

Yeah for CD1 and tomorrow's clomid miffles!!

at everyone else. (There's been a lot of chat I've missed out onGrin!)

Well, I believe I'm 5+6. Off to see the doc at 4 today. Let's home they've raised their game Hmm I want early scans done because I want the option of certain tests etc which need to be done earlier than 12 weeks. (Cos I is an old git at 37 Hmm) We'll see... And I have low level grumbling nausea. Nothing I can't ignore at the moment. But a sign of things to come?! Wink

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 26/11/2010 09:50

I must say Brassica I'm finding your post very artistic looking, the way the bold names step down the page.

Good to see lots of goodness going on. Bunting time for Miff's RTC (red tide of clomid).
Lots of positive thoughts for Josie and Milano.

Guess I ought to go drag my bum through the shower and get dressed.

BrassicaBabe · 26/11/2010 09:55

Have to confess nomore that when I work from home I simply chuck my clothes on and move to the sofa with laptop Blush

Well, I'm off to a great start. Angry GP appointment for today cancelled as he's off sick. I booked it a fortnight ago. I know he can't help being off sick. But Angry anyway. Even then I couldn't get in to see any of the docs I had seen before. But now I'm booked in on Wednesday with some fecking locum who won't have any idea what the local services and procedures are! Arse!

Miffles · 26/11/2010 09:56

BB - what time of day did you take your clomid? First one today and worried about side effects but don't want to take too late cos then it'll be tomorrow and CD3!! Ta

OP posts:
BrassicaBabe · 26/11/2010 10:06

Me again, nothing to do with diffed or not, but doesn't anyone else get really painful nips when a room gets cold? I mean really. I'm sat in the living room, which isn't too cold literally rubbing my nips to keep the pain away. Just me....?

BrassicaBabe · 26/11/2010 10:11

x-post miffles First cycle I took them in the morning. I didn't get any side effects. Although I'm blaming the extra 3 lbs I can't shift on the clomid. The second cycle I took them in the evening because I was reading that lots of women where starting taking them on CD3. So I thought I'd split the difference Grin

Miffles · 26/11/2010 10:20

Tee hee - I think I'll go and take mine now then. Heard quite a few people didn't get side effects.

I agree with the sore nips. I think that is what was confusing me with sore boobs and pregnancy symptoms! Was actually just the cold!

Currently sat on the sofa with the laptop in my PJs. Need to go shower and start making myself beautiful, but kind of watching homes under hammer now!

OP posts:
Miffles · 26/11/2010 10:24

Done it. Taken it. Grin

You were much more subtle about yours, BB. Blush

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 26/11/2010 11:38

Hugs Josie

Miffles - I told work about a week ago but when I was doing Clomid and the like I just did my appointments at lunch time. I had no side-effects what so ever with Clomid and took it first thing. I actually lost weight... (PS don't think Clomid has ANY bearings on weight +ve or -ve!!)

I had a bizarre blood test this AM - couldn't get a vein (again) so had to syringe it out (again) but she hadn't attached the needle properly so it looked like blood milkshake. It then explode over my file! She got about 1cm in the end Grin

BrassicaBabe · 26/11/2010 12:20

Rats! Then where has this 3lbs come from vallinna?! Grin Yuck for blood test.

Miffles · 26/11/2010 12:38

Crazy blood test vallinna - I'd find that yucky. You sound v calm tho. I'm trying to keep appts away from work, but NHS give me little choice!

You're allowed to have extra weight BB - you're carrying a baby!!!

OP posts:
NervousNelly · 26/11/2010 12:43

Yesterday I had to go to hospital for an x-ray (related to my new hollywood smile Grin). I was very impressed with the service, just pitched up with my slip and was out in about 15 minutes, x-ray in hand. Anyway, as I was walking out I was thinking "oooh I bet I'm one of the few people here who actually wants to come back asap". I meant, of course, the maternity ward; but now hope that my "wish" isn't granted in some other way Hmm. Might wear extra padding when I go and ride my horse later......

Josie , not sure if it worked but I think I sent you a PM (or whatever they are called on here!) For everyone else, it was about horses hence why I didn't post in the thread!

I've been off all week and had a very frustrating time (let's just say Cars are not my friend, and neither is the Audi customer service Angry). Anyway as it's my last afternoon off I am trying to decide what to do. OH at work so JS not an option Wink. (Though we did manage last night so am inspecting my gusset for egg-nog on a regular basis. Think I'm due to OV today; have probably had light pant snot over the last few days but so far no real mitter-whatsit pain. Maybe I'll go pee on one my un-wrapped OPK. Is it too late for that?)

Anyway:
Option a) Sit in conservatory (it's the only warm room) drinking homemade Gingerbread lattes and buying Christmas presents online.

Option b) go to actual shops and do same

Option c) As option a but reading MN instead.

Option d) as A but read a book.

Option e) Take advantage of the fact it's a glorious winter's day (crisp, freezing, and sunny) and go outside and do some essential garden chores.

Or Other suggestions?

Vote now!!

BrassicaBabe · 26/11/2010 12:48

Ha! Well, (e) is def out!! I suggest (c) until the desire for (e) passes! Grin

I refuse to put on 3lbs by 6 weeks. My arse won't get through the front door if it carries on at that rate Grin

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 26/11/2010 13:25

Brassica Just wait til the vomiting and food aversions kick in. I've found it a great way to lose weight.

Oh damn I suddenly REALLY want a cup of tea! Normally can't stand the stuff, but the child with in is half ruddy English. Well it can just wait til it's old enough to steal Daddy's (like it's big brother)!

vallinnapod · 26/11/2010 13:50

Ohhh NMCB now where do you orginate from (tell me to pee off for being nosey!)

BB actually think the weight loss is due to the Metformin, it just kicked in around Clomid/Letrozole time! Only half a stone but secretly very pleased with it! 3lbs could just be due to water rentension! Or possibly cake!

Nelly go outside for an hour (it's boooootiful and I am envious, sitting in an office quite far away from any windows! Plus vitamin d from the sunlight is great for all things baby!) then snuggle up in the conservatory, guilt free, and Christmas shop!

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 26/11/2010 13:59

Nelly go to the shops to do your christmas shopping!

I'm a bit fed up, because yesterday and today, it's bneen like a sodding ghost town round here - It's only cold , people!

internet sopping is killing the High Street, and I'm the High Street, so get your scarf and gloves on and get outside!!
