By hook or by crook we will shag our way to victory - thread for the JSing viroids

Miffles · 19/11/2010 17:18

The (updated) (again) 'rules' from our Just Shagging Originator for the Viroids:

Maintain a relaxed attitude at all times - drink if you want too, especially on your birthday (or when you?ve had bad news). Thread precedent dictates if you drink to excess you will get a BFP (but not recommended).

Covet thy husband and enjoy every minute. Shag at every opportunity - shag-capes and awesome superpowers optional.

Keep acronym-age to a minimum! EWCM is now to be referred to as 'pant snot'. Try not to get sucked in by Fertility Friend (at least for a while), but knowing where you are in your cycle and furkling for pant snot is most definitely allowed.

Bunting is to be put out for any small victory, thread-parties are held regularly and hugs are always welcome! Grin

Once you have your BFP, feel free to hang around and share your wisdom and virtual cocktails with the JSers.

Keep us up to date with gossip!

*

Most of these rules are well and truly broken!! But we try to chill - honest

Grin bb we just cross-posted. Glad you got your 3+ weeks! That's a nice moment!

Wait til you're at the sick and constipated stage Grin

I have given up on the constipation. I go once a week, before my teaching on a Monday when I'm literally crapping myself about the crappy preparation I have done over the weekend

Truffkin · 22/11/2010 13:28

Hi there viroids, hope your Mondays are going swimmingly.

Caz really keeping everything crossed for you and pleased you are sounding so generally together.

Nelly massive gold star for your true JSing weekend! I'm impressed (and did LOL at the falling out of bed part!)

DarkStar your list sounds promising but sorry your back is playing up. I was whingey enough with mine and I didn't have a mini-me to look after Grin

Mog Also looking good for you. I might add forgetfulness to my list, as I managed to leave my watch and train / work passes at my friend's on Saturday, which really got my week off to a great start Hmm DH got the new COD on launch day and is already talking about trading it as it's not as good as the last one, seriously he's so spoiled!

Happy Moniversaries to you both too Grin

Vallinna I find it hilarious that your husband voted for Wagner. As I'm not a huge X-Factor fan, I can laugh at him still being in without the annoyance at anyone else getting voted out! That said, if Anne Widdecombe stays in Strictly Come Dancing this weekend, I shall not be amused!

So, in Truffkin land I am now 12 DPO of a usual 13 day luteal phase and FF wants me to test on Thursday. I'm not keen on testing before we go away on Friday for a family party in Ireland as if it's BFN I'll be a miserable cow and if it's BFP I'll be massicely outed for not drinking. Have no proper symptoms but every slight moment of nausea, slight boob twinge post-pokage, my heartburn on Saturday (clearly explained away by the spicy food and 2 bottles of wine I shared) and obviously the forgetfulness Wink have made me think a bit harder than usual Grin

vallinnapod · 22/11/2010 14:03

Love the mad symptom spotting!

Can you imagine the nightmare you guys are going to contend with before Christmas (fingers, crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed, fingers crossed, and toes too) with my 2WW?! At least it will be more like a 10 day wait (the embryos spend up to 5 days in their dish - although I bet I can get symptoms even then Wink)

BB no scans yet. 2 blood tests last week to make sure I was on the right dose. Scan and bloods on Wednesday

BrassicaBabe · 22/11/2010 14:06

How soon until you are at the egg gathering stage vallinna? Trust me, we are very much looking forward to your 2WW. We'll be here....

vallinnapod · 22/11/2010 16:18

Dunno BB depends how long it takes for me to react to the stimulants. I assume they know what my ovaries should be looking like on Weds (9 days of stimming) and if they don't look, errr, bubbly (?!) enough then I guess I will be tried on a higher dose and see what happens then! From what I can gather the process can take from 1 week to 2 or 3 depending on how you react.

takethatlady · 22/11/2010 17:01

Oooh vallinna how exciting.

Bubbly ovaries Grin

SingingMog · 22/11/2010 19:57

Vallinna, sorry for getting your DH mixed up! Am excited for your Christmas 2ww too. Hope you get bubbly-enough ovaries Smile

Truffkin I feel your pain when trying to explain even the smallest symptoms! I felt like crap this morning and went a bit light-headed again, but now I (unhappily) feel fine. I would be much happier if I felt awful! Also, gah about leaving your stuff on the train. Have you got any of it back?

TTL, at least you are saving time and money by only going once a week! My lessons went OK given the amount of planning.

DarkStar hope you are feeling a bit better with your back and that symptoms are positive.

Dynababy · 22/11/2010 20:52

Hello viroids!

I'm lovely the proper 2ww madness that has decended!! Mog and darkstar fingers firmly crosed for you!!

Sleepycaz its positive that you got positive preg results. Are you going back to doc soon?

Vallinna wishing you bubby ovaries for wed!! Can't wait for your 2ww!

Truff if you don't test you'll spend all weekend thinking about it anyway and make a mad dash to chemsit when your there!! Maybe your more patient than I am though!

Baby dust y'all!

Miffles · 22/11/2010 22:06

Another BFN. I swear, I do not know why I bothered. Why did I imagine I would be pg? In what parallel universe would that be possible? So so fed up. Feel a fool to have even got my hopes up. Just got to wait til AF gets here, then can start on the drugs and scans and bloods and timed shagging and those delights.

Sorry to you lovely ladies who are having a crappier time and need even more drugs and scans (Vallinna). And sorry to ignore all the other viroids.

Not sure I see the point in this anymore.

OP posts:
Truffkin · 22/11/2010 23:22

Oh Miffles I know there is really nothing I can say to make you feel better but and a humungous glass of wine here for you. Buggering ERTD pratting you about, am sending 'hurry up' vibes your way.

Just back from seeing 'Deathly Hallows part 1' and I loved it! Anyone else a Harry Potter fan? I've not been overly impressed with previous films but this one was dark. I did make a bit of an idiot of myself as I jumped out of my seat a few times!

BrassicaBabe · 23/11/2010 08:43

Sorry you are feeling so down miffles. Red-fecker is indeed a witch for messing you around!

takethatlady · 23/11/2010 10:43

Really sorry you're having such a crp time miffles. Hope red fecker comes along soon so you can get on with it - I'm sure it's just the waiting that is making it so hard. I HATE waiting ...

I saw Harry P too and thought it was good. I also thought it was quite scary. It's only a 12a which I think means that under 12s can go but need to be accompanied. I'm sure it would freak out most kids under 10!

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 23/11/2010 11:37

Miffles that is so crap :( It's cruel being mucked around by your body like that. Sorry, I can't remember how far along in your cycle you are but if you are actually late and still waiting, might it be worth going to the GP to ask for a blood test? I know they usually put people off with 'wait another two weeks and see' Hmm but you need to know what's going on so you can start moving things forward.

Sending you a hug manly punch on the shoulder, and make-your-mind-up vibes to your womb :)

DH is wfh today which is lovely, so I have another day of resting my back and hopefully getting it better. I had a dream about taking a pregnancy test this morning Blush and it was positive; told DH about the dream and he made this face Hmm and said 'don't think we're quite ready for that news yet' Grin

Symptom watch, day 3: sense of smell seems to be working more than usual. Came downstairs to the most almighty smell of poo from DS, yet DH said he couldn't smell anything. That could have just been his attempt to dodge a bullet though, honestly, it stank.

nickeldonkeyonadustyroad · 23/11/2010 11:46

Mornin' all!

sorry miffles , sounds like you need a big hug and a cup of hot chocolate. :(

I've decided once and for all that we can't afford to be pregnant right now, so I'm kind of glad that I'm quite obviously not.
(not that ERTD is due till end of next week (i think... Hmm )

I've lost track - obviously not taking this seriously enough Grin

how's everyone this morning?
I'm fecking freezing. [brrrrr]

Miffles · 23/11/2010 11:52

Hey. Feeling a bit more together, thanks for kind words. Sorry to have dumped quite so much - DH was out and was balling my eyes out! He figured what was up as soon as he walked in. Not really cried about it before, so was probably healthy (although my face doesn't look healthy this morning!)

Sleepy - how are things looking this morning? Been thinking of you.

mog - how was your class yesterday, with no prep? Lots of noise from percussion instruments?! I was wondering if your pains were from the position of your cervix....I remember people judging how fertile they were on whether it was low or high...no idea really, but it may tie in... Hmm

DarkStar - how's your back? Are you feeling any better? I enjoyed reading your 2ww list - made me feel less foolish with my symptoms and hopes! :)

2wd - any sign of your ERTD yet? So annoying when you're sure it's just round the corner, but keeps you guessing!

Dyna - great that you've registered your bean. Why would they be surprised? When would they expect you to go?! I'd be down there like a shot!!

Nelly - loved the sound of your w/e. You're really doing it for the team! An inspiration to us all.

Milano - thanks for being sweet about the grads list. Any more symptoms?

Santababy2b - LOVE the name! Makes me sing...not long til Christmas!!

Vallinna - Wagner? Really?! Your DH needs the biggest slap! Can't believe he would do that!! Hope the scan goes well tomorrow.

BB - glad to hear you're no longer so bunged up. Keep up the good fibre work.

Truffkin - I'd vote not to test before your w/e away. If BFN you'll only be disappointed, but it'd prob be too early to trust it. If it's BFP, it'll worry you and actually be too early for anything to affect it. I'm all for sanity!

TTL - hope you had a good w/e away - anywhere nice? I've been married 5 years and the monthly anniversary shags have passed us by too...in fact, sometimes even the year anniversaries!! Wink

aDarkStarWithStrangeWays · 23/11/2010 11:56

Glad to 'see' you feeling a bit perkier Miffles :) Hopefully the winter sun is shining on you as it is where I am - makes such a change from moody grey skies.

My back is getting better, thanks. I can now stand up straight again and move around relatively easily, but coccyx still very sore so no sitting down or lifting heavy/awkward objects. Which means no sitting on the floor playing with DS :( and no vacuuming :)

Going to take the day off work tomorrow so I can lie flat all day while DS is at nursery. Hey, they're making me redundant anyway, f them!

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 23/11/2010 11:58

Oh Dark I feel your pain on the almighty poo front. Although it was me who dodged that bullet today by still being 'asleep' in bed when DH got up and went to check out DS. Aren't boys delightful? Grin

Miffles · 23/11/2010 11:59

x-post. DarkStar - I've got PCOS so dodgy cycles are par-for-the-course. But always been short cycles before! Due to see fertility consultant in 2 weeks....was meant to be to report back after starting clomid, but depends whether I'll have started it by then or not! Glad you've got a another day to rest.

Love the reverse psycology Nickel!

OP posts:
vallinnapod · 23/11/2010 12:36

Awh Miffles - your pit of dispair looks very familiar (I may have left a few empty wine bottles down there Smile) I am sorry you are feeling down. I am the worst person to give advice as I tend to focus on the negatives but think positive. You have the docs on side, you have the Clomid, you have a great DH, it's all just taking a little longer than we all want. Glad you are perkier today xx

I very much enjoyed HP too! I missed Hogwarts though!!

30andMerkin · 23/11/2010 12:42

I can't keep up with you lot! You chat so fast, but I've just ducked my head into your shiny new wine bar thread and noticed that Brassica and Milano are up the duff! Huge congrats to you both, any other old timers I've missed, and all the rest of you with shiny new BFPs!

I'm still here, and still not pregnant. But hey ho, I haven't been really trying Wink.

30andMerkin · 23/11/2010 12:49

Oh crap, sorry Milano, didn't read whole thread. Hope you're doing ok.

NoMoreChocBiscuits · 23/11/2010 13:05

Miffles sorry not ignoring your disppear, just not getting to close as have a horrid cold. One day stupidly soon you'll be moaning about how bad your morning sickness is making you feel and this bit now will be a distant memory. Vallinna too.

In other news, I've had a poo.

takethatlady · 23/11/2010 13:24

Maybe that's what darkstar could smell nmcb Blush Grin

takethatlady · 23/11/2010 13:26

Hey 30! long time no see!

miffles glad you have a lovely and sensitive DH. Just what you need at times like these. Knew they were useful for something other than sperm Grin

Hope the puffiness goes down soon! Days like that are so weird, when you're peering out from under your own eyes! Like nmcb says, you'll be moaning about morning sickness in no time.

vallinnapod · 23/11/2010 14:43

PMSL NMCB! Glad you are, errr, relieved!

30 - nice to see you!
