Hi ive been posting on the miscarrage forum but now feel ready to start all over again!
My story, Had my first MMC in nov 2007, followed by an erpc (worst moment of my life) this was my first pregnancy and i felt robbed. Waited for two periods and got pg with my little DD in feb 2008, i had a great pg and birth but was on constant knicker alert. We decided when she was two we would like another baby to add to the familiy, we decided to try in sept this year and got pg first time! (very shocked) I was so hoping this would be my time to have a stress free pg and actually enjoy the experience! How wrong i was, i started to spot at six weeks had a scan which showed a sac but no baby, i then enjoured the worst two week of my life by having scan and blood tests. I was told on the 8th on nov the pregnany was not going to continue and i had a blighted ovum, and on the 9th i had a erpc. I have recovered well and stopped bleeding the day after the procedure. I went to see my doc last week who told me i could start ttc asap as long as i feel up to it?? anyone else ttc straight away, last time i was told to wait and i did but this time i have read that there is no lit to say wait apart from to date the pg?? Im hoping there are some people who can share there experiences and someone who wants to join me!

(((((((( wombat ))))))) thank god you are safe! what a terrible thing for you to have gone through..... did you see that yellow nearly sent the search party out for you?

as for my symptoms they are all gone this morning, AF is due on fri/sat and I foolishly optimisticly havn't packed any sanitary wear so going to have to hunt some out today.
pecka that wedding sounds like a roller coaster ride, damn RL....
yellow still no news on that job, good lord!
sparkly your posts always make me laugh with your dramatisations, you are really funny.

As for me I am ready for home now, we have been to all the parks we have tickets for, so its just revisiting the ones we want to, I just want to get back and get on with baby making.......our hotel room has 2 double beds next to each other so no bedroom activity for us with 2 kids next to us........we had to have a quicky in the shower the other morrning as DH was about to explode!!
If I manage to get a BFP this month I will be amazed, if a bean can hang on whilst having been on the hulk it sure would be a sticky one!!

Hi everyone else xxxx

wombatinwaiting · 01/03/2011 12:30

worm! Good to hear from you and thanks for your hugs. No need to give up hope yet - I'm keeping fingers and all sorts crossed for you. Have the kids had a good time?

wellie - here's hoping you have a calmer few weeks and things settle into a routine for you - it's no wonder you're all over the place at the moment. Hope you're managing to enjoy Sydney as a resident - I loved the place as a tourist.

harassed - sorry you're not so healthy right now so am impressed with your SWI action.

yellow - thanks for the update. For some reason I thought there were more tests to come.... glad to hear you are getting some positivity from your accupuncturist and as you are such an amazingly positive person anyway, all that positivity has to result in a positive ending, n'est ce pas? Cannot get over your interview process - I think sparkly may have been right about you applying for Ban ki moon's position!

Now, here's another topic for you ladies - testing your cervix opening to see if it's open which is a good ov sign.... I have read on some other threads what you are meant to feel (if it's open, it's soft like your lips and if it's closed, it's harder like the tip of your nose) but I'm at a complete loss as to know how to feel it - I either have short fingers or a long fanjo (or possibly both), but I reckon there is no way on earth I could cop a feel of it unless I got my whole hand up there (and that's a whole other porn site story....!) Answers on a postcard please to Wombatinwaiting, Dubai, UAE and the winner gets a month's supply of ovulation sticks and pre-seed Grin

Wormshuffler · 01/03/2011 14:04

wombat yes the kids are having an amazing time and are being so good, we decided against getting a car as both scared about driving here, so are having to use the buses to get around, and the kids havn't moaned once! even when we had to wait an hour for a connecting bus bless 'em.
We managed to briefly see the space shuttle launch from the top of universal car park until it went into the heavy clouds, yestgerday space mountain had a power cut with us on it and because of where we were they had to get the fire department to rescue us![huge over dramatic emocion] it was hilarious! and we got given 2 fast passes!
Lets not mention the food though........I am never going to get back into my work clothes.....

Sparklywine · 01/03/2011 17:12

Grin at 'long fanjo', we'd been trying to raise the tone here, Wombat!
I think I might have a low-lying cervix then, very easy to feel but it is a little creepy rummaging about; tried it once (anyone got pissed and forgotten whether they'd still got a tampon in? No? Just me? Grin) and thought I could feel an opening Felt like a nose though, rather than lips. Which makes sense during af so the theory may be born out.
Wombat, I will apply myself as to how you might successfully negotiate your unfeasibly large passage, them sticks are mine!

yellowtomato · 01/03/2011 17:44

Afternoon all

Well events have taken a smutty turn wombat yes I'm talking to you. Well let's see.....i've been using a mooncup lately and have had to do a bit of rummaging to get the positioning right....anyway on the instructions it says that if you stand up your fanjo is longer.....but if you squat (like hovering above the toilet) it shortens. Go on.......give it a go, go to the toilet and squat and stand and come back and report...if that's not right I'll get the instructions out and double check what they say.

sparkly you do make me laugh. I have to confess to have done that too....I haven't been drunk in charge of the mooncup yet but imagine that could get messy.

worm glad you've been having such a good time, I'm always quite keen to come back at the end of a holiday.....I think I like the change but miss the comfort of home after a while...what CD are you on? and when are you back?

Me and ff now agree when I ov'd so that's good. I'm on 5DPO.....no symptoms yet!

pecka33 · 01/03/2011 17:51

im lurking today nowt special to add im afraid, your updates today have made me giggle somewhat, there was a link on here sometime last week where this girl and her partner used a fanjo cam and it showed the cervix during its various stages!! Facinating, but i still havent plucked up the courage to dig in there yetm especially as i have false nails on at the moment!!! Eeeeeeekkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk, ive just creeped myself out!!!
Sparkly, mooncup???? What the hells that??

pecka33 · 01/03/2011 17:53

sorry yellow

pecka33 · 01/03/2011 18:29

two lines on the ov sticks!!! Slightly more exciting especially as my temps has risen this morning!!! Charting seems to be working....

yellowtomato · 01/03/2011 20:51

Whoo hoo does that mean you need to do another SWI or has the ship sailed?

Mooncup is a silicon type egg cup you can use instead of tampax. Will link tomorrow when I am not on my phone!

pecka33 · 01/03/2011 22:00

not sure yellow my first month of charting, did another ov stick and it was just one line, so maybe my eyes are deceiving me..... also did ov sticks for the last two days and nothing, so maybe i haven't ov'd yet?? so yes swi continues tonight, even though im not feeling too well, diarea, my poor hubby, he really has to put up with alot from me!!! bless....

im googling moon cups as we speak, thanks yellow. x

manamana · 01/03/2011 22:02

hello all and WELCOME BACK WOMBAT
Sorry, have lost track of things on here, been hiding from MNet recently to avoid panicking myself again. Really nice to catch-up with everyone.
Glad you NZ adventureres were all OK in the end despite going through the mill. Glad to hear that the wedding still went ahead - so right about valuing family and friends in times like that. Must all seem v surreal for you both to have been there and now feel far away.
Very excited re talk of symptoms and 2wws, am keeping my fingers crossed and sending all my pg hormones your way. Not heard from any of my fellow nervously pg posters recently, hope you're ok if you're lurking.
mmmmmmm worm, American food.. love it. Good to hear you've all had fun despite the sleeping arrangements ;-) Hope you get plenty of SWI action in to make up for your abstinence.
Liking the drunken wedding tale and the determination of dh making the most of the opportunity - he's obviously been reading the boards ;-)
Great job news - fingers v firmly crossed.
V interesting cervix talk, thanks...erm... i think ;-)

Well update from me is that today I had no spotting at all - only the 4th or 5th day clear in last month. Thanks for all supportive messages, am not cross with mw or consultant. Mw was worried, consultant wasn't, just glad i got to see them both and have the scan all within a few days. am having my proper booking appt on Friday which i am quite excited about and she says i can still have a dating scan in the next couple of weeks. Was worried i wouldn't get one. Not having nuchal as haven't done so with last 3 pgs and really have had enough of worrying over unknown risks. Just want to make sure the heart is still beating. Then we can tell more people although someone at work today guessed cos i do look pretty pregnant! Am experimenting with a variety of baggy clothes but it isn't working that well.

Anyway, sorry for rambling and weary post. Should be in bed as I have no energy after approx 3pm.

Take care all xxx

pecka33 · 01/03/2011 22:11

Lovely to hear from you mana and the spotting has stopped, here's to an un-eventfull rest of your pregnancy...nyt all, swi again tonight x

wombatinwaiting · 02/03/2011 04:01

Well, I thought we were all getting a bit too sensible on here in worm's absence so thought it only right to bring us down to base level again! Grin

Anyhoo, thanks for all the tips. At work now so will try and see if I can get a chance to do the squat-feel later if there's no-one else around - we have an unfortunately shiny floor with a gap at the bottom separating the cubicles so you can end up seeing more than you bargained for .....! Makes sense re: the shorter / longer squatting / standing thing. Grin at sparkly description of "unfeasibly large" fanjo - I prefer to think of it as "lean and slender"....! Ha - who am I kidding?! I guess length is prefarable to width? Re: the drunk tampon thing - tick from me - have you ever accidentally forgotten you have one there and end up with two? Tick from me again! Hmm.... just realised that doesn't help quash the unfeasibly large wombat fanjo rumour does it?! Blush

Mana - fab to hear from you and soooo glad the spotting has abated. Will you get your dating scan this friday at your appt? Can you remind me of your dates - brain like a sieve? Thanks and also for sending your pg hormones - keep 'em coming Smile

pecka - v glad to hear that charting is working well so far and your DH sounds like a real trooper. Shock re: the fanjo cam - do you have the link? I'm weirdly fascinated by it Blush

worm - glad you found the power cut and fireman rescue so funny (were the firemen dead sexy?) - were there any over-dramatic Americans there too threatening to sue and all sorts? When are you back in the UK? Fingers crossed you won't be needing that sanitary ware!

I seem to be all over the place right now - haven't had any more EWCM since the unexpected lot on Sunday and 3 POAS and no smiley face.... have no idea if I have ov'd or not. We are still at it daily though in vain hope.....

wombatinwaiting · 02/03/2011 04:04

Ah - have just re-read about the shiny floor and cubicles - I mean in the toilets rather than our desk cubicles!

yellow - forgot to say that glad you and ff are in agreement. Fingers crossed for the herbs!

yellowtomato · 02/03/2011 08:56

Morning all

pecka in case you didn't find it the mooncup is here mooncup I found it a bit tricksy to begin with but think I've got the hang of it now......I do much prefer it. But you have not to be squeamish about your flow and not adverse to getting familiar with the fanjo

Re charting, it usually only tells you when you have ov'd it's not good at predicting it. So you essentially have a slight temp drop and then your temp goes up and stays up. When the temp has been raised for 3 days then ff will confirm ovulation. But it does get a bit confused sometimes. But my EWCM, cycle dates and temps all said the same thing this month. If it helps here is my chart you can see cos of a dip on day 11 ff initially thought I'd ov'd on that day then after 3 temps over 98 it changed it's mind an agreed with what I'd thought of day 13. What day are you on? What is normal cycle length? Have you have EWCM.

And another thing regarding ov sticks it happened to me that i'd get a +ve in the am and a -ve in the afternoon or the other way round. Was most confusing.

I am v impressed with the SWI efforts ladies, gold stars and custard creams all round. (except for me, day 2 on the diet!)

mana so glad things are progressing well, hopefully you'll be able to start relaxing a little bit soon.

wombat i didn't for one moment think you've be checking your fanjo at your desk! Shock whatever next! have you had another try? Do keep us updated...

sparkly what CD are you on? I think you're slightly ahead of me?

wombatinwaiting · 02/03/2011 13:09

Interesting reading about the mooncup yellow - I have to confess to being a bit squeamish about them before but I think they could be very valuable. Loving the expression "familiar with the fanjo" Grin - talking of which, i tried the squatting thing, but it just made entry all that more difficult as everything seemed to squash together, IYKWIM - sorry if TMI. Perhaps me and my cervix opening are never meant to meet....! Will perhaps try again in the comfort of my own bathroom rather than work toilets!

pecka33 · 02/03/2011 22:45

hi all, hope your all well?? God what an intersting conversation uve all been having, i think the web sites called my beautiful cervix, one word!! Amazing!!!
yellow cant get my head round that ff web site going to look on the weeknd when i have more time, my temps have risen the last three days 97,97.5 and today 98, still no ov lines on the pos yet??? And no cm??? Confused.com xxx

wombatinwaiting · 03/03/2011 04:42

Morning all - trust you all had good beauty sleeps! Mine was a bit interrupted by weird but rather arousing dreams about Gandalf (from Lord of the Rings....!) - bit Blush to give any more details!

The good news is that I got a smiley face on the ov stick this morning post early morning SWI so we will SWI again tomorrow morning to up our chances. Very odd as no EWCM around at all since the unexpected lot on Sunday.

pecka - sounds as if your body is confused too. Could you have ov'd a couple of days ago? Don't want to raise any false hopes, but rising temps can be a v good sign post ov....

wombatinwaiting · 03/03/2011 04:54

yellow - just took a look at your chart - a very clear rise in temps - rather interesting.

pecka - v v sorry, I have just done a bit more reading and it's not rising temps but temps that remain high for 18 days or more post ov that are a good sign - I've copied and pasted this from an ovulation website:

"Post-ovulatory temps will remain high for a period usually 12 to 16 days until they drop again when your cycle ends and menstrual period begins. If pregnancy takes place temperatures will remain elevated throughout the entire pregnancy."

I am slapping myself now for being so stupid as to think I knew what I was talking about re: temps - sorry again pecka.

pecka33 · 03/03/2011 08:45

ahhhh thanks wombat, im not sure whats going on, but feel like ive covered all bases, swi from day 8 right up until i think i ovulate, then every other day till af arrives if it doesnt show!!talk about commited!!! Good luck with ur swi.... X

yellowtomato · 03/03/2011 08:58

Morning all

wombat Gandalf??? wtf? How odd......have you watched the film recently? I really cannot imagine how that can be arousing but I think it's probably best left that way! Grin

re temping as I understand it......the cycle is in two halves, pre and post ov. Pre ov temps are lower, on the day you ov you may have a dip but straight after ov they rise. If temps rise and stay risen for 3 consecutive days this is a sign that ov occurred. Temps go down again from up to 5 days before your period........or not if you a pg.

so in terms of ov, temps are not that good for predicting but can tell when/if it happened. And then over the months that should be a pattern so it can help to pin point the exact time.

well, that's my understanding anyway.

and here is the cervix photo thing cervix

What CD you on pecka? what is normal cycle length...let's have a look at your chart?

good work on the SWI wombat

I had a headache all day yesterday and it seems to be the same today so far. Acupuncturist said it is to do with neck tension/stiffness so I'm going to Pilates in a bit to see if that helps.

wombatinwaiting · 03/03/2011 10:10

Thanks pecka and good going on the SWI front - here's to perseverance paying off.

I know, I know yellow - wtf indeed! All I will say is that what he was doing with his hands was pretty magic. I have had erotic dreams about all sorts of random people before, but this one is a first for me too..... Confused - I saw a pic of him yesterday on a news article which must be what triggered it. Might keep the dreams to myself in future Blush

Thanks for that v helpful summary on temps yellow - hope that's not what has lead to the headache. Most impressed with your fitness trail at the moment.

Blimey! Just taken a look at the fanjo-cam pics and text. It really is fascinating - trying to sneak a look while I'm at work is a bit tricky though - hand hovering by the minimise button all the time!

manamana · 03/03/2011 11:35

excellent - loving the fanjo exploration in work loos and fanjo cam on work desktop! I am in the safety of work at home mode but off to catch a train soon so my cervix eductation will have to wait ;-)

erotic dream about gandalf.... surely the weirdness of that qualifies as a pg symptom!

wombat, am 11 weeks now so should hopefully get a scan in next couple of weeks that should be reassuring if good news.

wombatinwaiting · 03/03/2011 12:03

11 weeks mana ! Wow, that seems to have gone quick (although I'm sure super slow for you). Let us know when you get your scan date so we can do virtual hand-holding for you.

sparkly - all ok with you? It's been a bit quiet from down your way of late and I would have thought you'd have a thing or two to say about fanjo-cam!

worm - are you back yet? I think AF is due for you fri / sat and with your super on-time-to-the-hour cycle, we will all be sitting here with bated breath....

1 hour til the weekend for me - it can't come quick enough....

Wormshuffler · 03/03/2011 12:30

Hi Ladies
You all seem to be getting to know your bodies very well Hmm Blush the temping stuff is facinating!
Well I am now on knicker alert. AF due on fri/sat, and we travel back on sat.
My boobs have definately been bigger and firmer every night when I go to bed, not sore though, but by morning they are back to golf balls in socks, so I dunno!!! If I had been at home I would have caved in an POAS but can't go and buy one and kids not see while I am here. DH thinks I am though and even let me sit out some of the rides yesterday "just in case".
Also I felt sick on some rides on week 3 of cycle, but fine now ??? weird. I am pretty sure we fertalized an egg but whether it sticks I am doubting......
But you never know ey?
Hope you are all ok
