TTC a 2011 baby

Hi all
I didn't want to hop on a bus because i'm not really aiming for a specific month to have a baby in so i thought i'd start a general "trying to conceive a 2011 baby" and see if anyone wants to join me :D

Wave to Iwish - this is first month of trying properly, the month before I didn't have a clue about my cycle and when the best time was etc.

Interesting to hear about other people DTD lots, I certainly have wanted to a lot more since I came off the pill...or maybe it's because subconciously I know it could result in a baby

Can I join too? Any tips on how the hell you keep any kind of perspective and don't become obsessed v. welcome too.

Month 3 of TTC, after a MMC back in September. We have a little girl who is 2 and I am already terrified that she'll be an only child and in short have become obsessed which really can't be helping matters.

Hiya, some,ok most, days i also find babies on my mind just a bit more than they should perhaps b. Saw a few baby bumps at work 2day (which i couldnt stop myself staring at). Have never noticed it b4 bt think i may have ovulated 2day. Got up this am (4am 4 work-stupid time!) and felt a tugging feeling in that area. Then a few hours l8a had period like pains 4 a bit. Bk 2 normal now. Ready 2 pick up dd from school,hoping ds stops screaming. Y do i want another?!

just read some of the info on the conception section on here, judging by cm think i may be about to ovulate? still not quite sure so will be wooing dh 2nite!!-or will that b 2 late? (not that itl stop me!!)

Hi mslk hopefully the little eggy will turn up for you soon, keep up the SWI do you know roughly when you should OV?

Hi mrsr welcome! I'm sorry to hear about your recent mmc. Unfortunately I have 0 tips for not becoming too obsessed as I'm on cycle 5 and am more obsessed than ever! This time I'm using opks, charting bbt, checking cm and cervix!! The last few months we just kind of winged it and did lots of SWI. When are you due to OV?

Hi broody. I know exactly what you mean about thinking about babies more than you should, my mind often wanders to babies even when I'm at work! and getting up at 4am, you pour thing. I think you should keep SWI just in case, maybe even for a few more days?

Well today I'm cd12. Stil -ve opk but was so excited (sad I know) When I got home from work and I have some v watery but stretchy cm!! Woohoo. Have SWI for the past 2 days, will give DP a rest tonight but hopefully will OV in a couple of days so will get some more SWI done on thursday.

haha iwish i was reading that very seriously, then realised how funny it would sound 2 anyone not ttc-isnt it funny how excited we're all getting about cm, when usually its NOT what u want 2 c in ur knickers!!

fingerscrossed , when i had coil it was rare that i ever really wanted sex, without it i could go almost everyday!! perhaps its the ttc but could it b something 2 do with the hormones? i also feel calmer and somehow more myself now my body isnt being pumped full of them. or does that just sound crazy?

have just done some research, takes about 4-5 days 4 egg 2 reach the womb once u'v ovulated, but it gets fertalised the within 24hours of being released...... 'its nature that' 50% of fertalised eggs are lost before period even starts as they dont implant properly.....40weeks pregnancy is calculated from the 1st day of your last period....it doesnt matter how often you dtd-millions of sperm are released.....within minutes of the man ejaculating sperm have reached the fallopian tubes... research shows that dtd everyday makes no difference than dtd every couple of days when it comes 2 getting pregnant!

Haha I know! Anyone not ttc would say it's a gross conversation and wouldn't like to take part in it! I wouldn't have even thought of telling anyone I've been sticking my fingers up there checking my cervix and closely looking at and getting excited about cm before ttc!!

Iwish I've still not had a +ve OPK, first month of using them, but FF thinks I'll be OV today so maybe I missed the surge or FF is wrong. Or there's something up with me

Will use the OPK's for a few more days and keep up the SWI and then I guess just wait and see.

Hi mslk im sure everything ok, you may just be oving late this month. Or like you said could have missed the surge. what cd are you? And what time do you test? And what is your cm like? (sorry for the 20 questions!)
I thought I would have ov'd 11-14 as my cycles have been 25-27 and a random 32 in there. I'm cd14 and I have just got the faintest ever line on an opk today at 5pm. I do 1 at 7am and 1 at 5pm. So this weekend I'm hoping to get a positive but still SWI.

iwish i dont examine my cervix, those pics were rather enlightening 4 me, seeing how it changes over the month!!
had ewcm thurs and fri, but didnt do any swi (works party thurs night, was a little 2 drunk with head spinning a tad 2 much for it, just didnt fancy it yesterday) so hoping we'v done enough recently for it not 2 matter :-)

Fingers crossed you have done enough SWI but keep it up for a little while just to make sure.

I've had ewcm for a couple of days now and got a pale line on opk today so hopefully will OV in a couple of days so ill keep SWI. Woohoo!

Hi Iwish How are you? I'm cd17. Started testing early evening but the last few days it's been late morning as i've not been consistently around this week and didn't like the thought of doing it at work. Still not had a +ve but have had some promising cm and have timed that with SWI so fingers crossed i've just missed the surge or haven't been doing the test accurately enough. I've had a couple of very faint lines too so maybe the +ve is still to come - who knows!

This is my first month of trying. I have not figured out when I am ovulating, have used the calculator and sticks, but tho theoretically on day 19 nothing has happened yet. Have to say that did notice a little blood after sex the other night and have got sore nipples so maybe I ovulate later than expected. I have run out of sticks so will try again next month!

Nearly Down 2 1ww and almost want 2 start testing nw bt know it wont do any good so i'l hold out!

Hi mslk. Im ok Thanx, little fristrated Tho. I'm cd16 and today I have no line at all on the opks!! Had a v faint one on Friday and a darker one yesterday but apparently if it's not as dark as the control line its not positive. I was hoping for a dark line today as I've had loads of ewcm the last few days.

Been doing lots of SWI but since I have no idea when I should be OVing u don't know when we can stop SWI as much.
Maybe you missed your surge then if you tested at different times of the day. Aparently the best times to test is morning to early afternoon and I was testing at 7am and 5pm. Did you get a line today?

Hi weimy welcome to the thread! What is your usual cycle length? Maybe you do OV late. My last few cycles I have OVd cd13 cd11 cd12 cd18 and still waiting this month!

It is 29 days usually, I think I might just try doing the baby tango every two to three days as I think the stick thing is going to make me a bit obsessive! lol

You may have just missed the surge weimy. It can be very short. What time do you test? We have been SWI every other day apart from when we were nearing OV and we will do it every day. If I knew when the sodding egg would make an appearance lol. The whole thing makes you obsessive haha. I'm using opks and temping!

cycles range from 33 to 43(last one). Cycle before that was 66 days! Had a scan and blood test for PCOS - both came back negative - so all systems go for January!!!!

I was testing am then read you should be testing pm (confused) I am on day 20 now first day of cycle was the 29th.

weimy they confused me so got some cheapies off eBay and I do 2 a day in hope I don't miss the surge. If you have really long cycles you may ov after cd20. I had a 32 day cycle last time and ovd on cd18. Have you been SWI still just in case?

Welcome wally! flipping eck 66 day cycle, thats a long one! Are you just going with the flow or using opks and temping?

Hang in there Iwish you may have missed the surge or it may still be to come. Keep up the SWI and the opks for a few more days. Can't hurt to keep on with the SWI. How's the temping going?

Mine say not to test first thing and I've read a few times that early afternoon is a good time to test. But you look like you've got it covered.

I got a darker line today!! So that's my +ve, I hope. Wasn't expecting it so fingers crossed you get yours too.

Yeh will keep testing and SWIing and hopefully I will get +ve. Just thought it v strange that I got a v faint line on Friday. Dark lines all day yesterday but not as dark as control line and nothing today. Only done 1 today tho as have been out at MILs all day. Wonder what would explain the lines if It wasn't a dark enough line. I'm doing ok on the temping but can't say I 100% understand my chart haha. im on another thread and keep posting my chart for them to look at lol.

Have been SWIing if that means what I think it does! But don't feel up for it now as boobs and tummy uncomfy ( too much cheese!). Will check out ebay for next month! :)
