TTC a 2011 baby

Hi all
I didn't want to hop on a bus because i'm not really aiming for a specific month to have a baby in so i thought i'd start a general "trying to conceive a 2011 baby" and see if anyone wants to join me :D

Hi everyone. Just a quick note to wish you all luck TTC a 2011 baby and to apologise if I haven't replied to any comments you've made to me - have been trying to stay off the talk as really we're out the running TTC what with DH now working away. I have in fact just dropped him off at the airport, no idea when he's home :( I'll pop back onto the thread hopefully when he's back - hope it's not when AF is here!!

My AF arrived too

been properly trying only for 3 cycles (but feels like forever as ds was conceived on one careless night!). totally missed this month of trying in fertile time due to illness. But at least no 2ww and can drink at crimbo!

My first pregnancy was horrendous, so i'm trying to focus on enjoying the perks of not being pregnant and trusting that it will happen at some point.

My gp is randomly sending me for a test to check prolactin levels, which i'm hoping is just being cautious, but of course is making me fret!

Afternoon ladies. Trying the grapefruit juice thing. Any ideas how much/often to drink it?

hiya i've read something about grapefruit before, think on the august bus. i cant stand grapefruit after getting cravings for it with #1 and it soon coming back up just as it went in!
what is it supposed to do?

Hi Broody it's supposed to help with cm. Can't hurt to give it a try. I can understand your experience putting you off it.

OPKs have arrived so will read the info and be giving them a go. Poor DH isn't going to know what's hit him!!

strumpet i hear what you're saying- it's No.1 for us too so feel like we would wait until it's definately hanging on in there but tbh i'm thinking the same as catmad we weren't planning to tell anyone we were TTC and then it popped out a few times! Luckily the one's that know haven't said anything or asked questions, so that's good-no added pressure!

Iwish it would be so exciting, like a special xmas present! Finger crossed for BFP.

It seems like we're all focussing on our own baby-making bits, are any of your guys doing their bit?! Mine has just bought some loose boxers to keep his boys cooler! He also cycles nearly everyday to work, so i have asked him to cut down a bit and use the bus more!

Haha don't worry not TMI mslk. I'm sure we will see and hear worse over the coming months! I can't believe how hard it is tho to keep up the SWI! Poor guy needs a rest when I've finished with him .

TBH zippy he hasn't changed anything apart from more SWI! He bears loose boxers and is a pretty lady git so won't be doing any cycling lol. Says he does enough exercise at work.

Come on girls next week is going to be a mass SWI-athon and let's see if we can get bfps for christmas/new year!

ye, accprding 2 ovulation calender on mumsnet my most fetrile days are yesterday til next sat-so im sure u can all guess wot we were up 2 yesterday and will be every couple of nights til the 2ww!!

have worked out that with af due on 28th, could take an early test on boxing day (wouldnt want a bfn 2 ruin xmas day, and the ecitement may make it even more fun)!!

zippyette and Iwish I have been taking superdrug multivitamins with iron and folic acid in.

Waiting 4 DH 2 stop smoking (hes not allowed in the house as i cant stand the smell and we have 2 kids), i said i have to give up loads when pregnant and breast feeding - feta cheese being one love, and my body wont b my own etc etc so the least he can do is give up smoking while we ttc and for 9 months after!
we'll see.....

Hi broody hope you had a lovely weekend and did lots of SWIing . I was thinking the same about testing on Xmas day, I'd be about 9 or 10dpo so could be too early anyway. I should be OVing wed/thurs ish unless I have another weird long cycle. glad to hear you are taking vitamins and getting dh to quit smoking.
We will starting SWI tonight and see how we get on. I think maybe everyday if we can manage it lol.

I haven't been on line for a while as I've been busy with work but I realsied I had got something very wrong regarding TTC- I thought you couldn't do a test until 2 weeks after your first missed period- then I read up and found I could test- I was due on my period over a week ago and now I have a BFP! OMG- my hands are shaking now with it!

I am in actual shock

Iwish I know BFPs dont always show up on early tests, -another reason not 2 do 1 on xmas day me thinks.-and of course boxing day is 1 whole extra day closer 2 af due date so moer chance of that bfp showing (perhaps 2 much positive thinking going on right this moment, haha)

am sure im going 2 sound crazy now but i have NO idea- the grapefruit juice thing- ycould u want 2 help cm? and by help do u mean increase? expect i sound silly saying it but i would have thought more cm slows sperm down?

Hi broody I've got the ultra early 10mlu tests but may still be too early at 9 or 10dpo like you said. Boxing day sounds like a good idea, the only reason I was thinking Christmas day (apart from the fact it would be an amazing prezzie) was so I know for definite if I can or can't drink but It wouldn't be 100% if it didn't show a line anyway - just talked myself out of it lol.
I think the grapefruit it to help produce more of the fertile cm as the sperm need it to swim through to get to the little eggy and it provides nurishment for then while they are up there.

another question on that subject (as had lots of cm all the time until coil was removed a few weeks back, then had none at all since..) noticed cm this morning (so woke hubby up b4 he had 2 go 2 work and enjoyed some morning swi!!- on noticing cm does that mean i'm ovulating/am about 2 or its 2 late?

Hi broody. What was the cm like? Was it stretchy like egg whites or watery?or creamy? I usually get creamy cm, then very watery and feel v wet down there (sorry if tmi) then I get a little bit of egg White cm which is the most fertile. Watery cm is quite fertile too. I think after OV it then dries up or goes creamy again or sticky.
I never really noticed cm when I was on the pill but I do now.

Morning SWI is the best. and easiest to get DP in the mood haha!

Hi strumpet. People drink grapefruit juice to help them produce more cm for the little swimmers to swim through.

Do any of you get any other OV signs? I never had anything while on the pill as it must stop OV but since I come off it I'm getting sore boobs every month and weird little cramps

Wow,its a few years since we've had this much! Usually we can go up 2 a few weeks without-wot have i been missing out on!! Wot a terrible wife i am!

Hi magic 5 times is good going!! We have been SWI every other day. I think this time will try every other day until I get +ve on opk and do every day for a few days and see where that gets us. And like broody says you seem perfectly normal . When are you expecting af?

Hi broody yeh fingers crossed you may be about to OV - keep SWI! Have you tried opks? I'm using them and still -ve up to now, come on body send out an eggy!!
It's good that your DH wants more SWI, sometimes I feel I have to persuade my DP a little more than I should have to! We can also go 2 weeks without DTD! Oh well we are usually both happy with that lol.
