Hi all
I didn't want to hop on a bus because i'm not really aiming for a specific month to have a baby in so i thought i'd start a general "trying to conceive a 2011 baby" and see if anyone wants to join me :D

Hi MrsB, welcome.

In terms of work notice periods, when do you have to notify your work that you're pregnant by law?

broodycoilsout · 06/12/2010 13:16

hello! can i join pls?
amon the september bus, but if i miss it will try to skip a month as ds2 was born in ocotber and i dont feel its fair to have 2 with possible the same birthday that arent twins! so 2011 sounds good 2 me!!

strumpt cant remember when ur supposed 2 tell ur boss (tho myn knew early on so theyd b more understanding with me needing time off 4 scans etc poss. after shcedule has been completed, i work somewhere else now and plan 2 do the same again)
towards teh end you fill in a ?MATB1? for maternity leave-do u have 2 tell them b4 then? tho im sure theyd notice b4 that anyway! :-)

our dd is 4 1/2 and ds 3yrs old, will b ttc #3 when af stops

daisy18 · 06/12/2010 14:48

Strumpt - its bascially when you complete MATb1 form - so 25 weeks i think, by that time you are more than likely to be showing though so they may know already - don't need to leagally inform them until then though.

Can I join too - am trying for a baby... have been for 10 months now, have a DS (2 years). Really hoping I can have a baby in 2011. good luck everyone!

Zippyette · 06/12/2010 22:10

Hey Iwish af due on the 12th, but tbh already getting af signs (sore boobs) so prob won't be this month, but we'll see. It'll be our 4th month of TTC and most of my friends said it took 3-4 months so a bit dissapointed, but keep trying to remind myself could take a year! I'm pretty regular, so hoping it's just a matter of time. Will be a relief in one way, as won't have to tell everyone I'm on 'antibiotics' over xmas and NY Wink.

Has anyone thought about who'd they tell before the unwritten 3 month rule apart from DP? Just interested Smile

strumpet82 · 07/12/2010 09:13

We've talked about it, and we've said as ttc#1 then we won't tell anyone til after 3 months. I think we just need to know everything would be ok before we tell.

catmad2010 · 07/12/2010 09:31

Morning everyone and welcome to the thread new people! I've been off the thread for a few days, in an AF hump and found out last night that DH is definitely going away to work on Friday for at least 6 weeks, if not more, after I booked 2 weeks off over Christmas and New Year too :( But have got some advice about what to do with him working away so we can still TTC when he is home so fingers crossed this doesn't spell the end of child dreams!

Regarding telling people before the 3 months - I know there is no way I'll keep it to myself and I'll tell my close friends. They're the ones I'd tell if I'd got pg and then MC'd anyway - I wasn't meant to tell people we were TTC but haven't kept my gob shut haha!

My AF finished the day before yesterday - what do you reckon about the chances of me and DH making a baby by Friday!?! Probably slim to nothing as guess this isn't a good time in cycle to concieve?

Hope you're all well, am having a cup of coffee while going back through the thread to see what's been going on for you all! :) (one good thing about not being pg....the vital morning coffee is still allowed! Grin)

strumpet82 · 07/12/2010 09:34

Glad you're back catmad2010. Bugger about the DH going away to work, still, if you've found a way to still keep ttc'ing then that's great. As far as making a baby by Friday, I say give it your best shot, it's fun trying Wink.

Iwish · 07/12/2010 10:01

Hi zippy. We are now on month 5 ttc so I know how you feel :( at the moment I can't see it ever happening and am getting quite upset but like you said keep telling ourselves it can take a while. Fingers crossed its your month. We will be able to find out around Xmas day if im pg providing my cycle is my usual 25,26 or 27 days. How exciting.
I think we will tell our parents and maybe a close friend. :)

Iwish · 07/12/2010 10:17

Hi catmad sorry to hear your DH working away. Maybe do some swi before he goes anyway :)
I drink caffeine free coffee, does the job :)

Hi strumpet hope you are ok. Are you in the 2ww or still swi lol?

strumpet82 · 07/12/2010 10:36

Hi iwish, i'm good ta.

I am STILL waiting for Friday to come around. Although my back is starting to twinge so i've got a little doubt creeping into my mind. I should banish it- positive thinking!!!

How are you?

Iwish · 07/12/2010 11:04

Back pain is also a sign so fingers crossed for you :). Do you think you will give in and do a test or wait till af is due? You could test now with an early test :)

Yeh I'm ok thanx, currently on cd4 of cycle #5 and waiting of af to bugger off. Hoping and praying that this month will be our month, would be a lovely christmas prezzie.

Are you getting more broody now Christmas is round the corner? I find myself day dreaming about Christmas morning with DP and our baby :)

strumpet82 · 07/12/2010 12:04

I am getting broody, but i'm trying not to think too much as I don't want to jinx myself.

I'm not going to test til af is due, if it arrives, I have my answer. If not, then i'll probably get a test shortly and do it on Saturday morning.

Good luck iwish for this month, Christmas does make family somehow seem more important.

mslk · 07/12/2010 16:23

Hi ladies Please may I join?

TTC #1. Fell off the August bus and am now on CD6 of cycle 2. AF about to b*gger off and ready to start SWI. Have ordered OPKs to help plan things.

Congrats to those with BFP, fingers crossed for those on 2WW and sorry to those who AF has got.

x

Iwish · 07/12/2010 18:25

Thanx strumpet :). And can't I also say that you have some will power!!

Hi mslk welcome to the thread and good luck to you.
I'm on cd4 so not long behind you :). Do you know roughly when you will ov? I'm hoping I will ov cd13 which would be an average of my recent cycles. Are you tempting too? X

Iwish · 07/12/2010 18:34

Thanx strumpet Xmas Smile. And can I also say that you have some will power!! I'd be making myself not buy a test by now!!

You did the deed lol? Xmas Smile

mslk · 07/12/2010 22:02

Hi IWish Good luck to you too.

Think I will ov cd16!! Just getting to grips with all this baby making lark! I'm not temping, was trying to keep it all very natural and not get obsessed but i'm failing miserably!! Xmas Grin Hence the OPKs recently ordered online Xmas Blush

Iwish · 08/12/2010 10:57

Thanks mslk. I know - who thought making babies was so difficult! Before we actually started trying I had no idea about OV and just thought it would happen really soon! Clearly I was wrong.
If you can do it without getting totally obsessed that's fab. My first 4 months we just SWI as much as we could/wanted to around OV but this time I have got OV tests, thermometer and have got some ultra early PG tests too - this time we mean business lol! Xmas Smile

eggybrokenoff · 08/12/2010 15:22

hey all - been avoiding internet for a while trying not to get obsessed or think about ttc unless in fertile time or 2ww. Supposed to be in prime fertile time now - all the signs back it up but I am sick! - looks like i'm going to miss this month opportunity completely- grr.

At least i can drink and be merry at crimbo. Am going to eat lots of soft cheese, shellfish and drink wine. buckets of it.

Hi eggy. Welcome back. And sorry you are ill :(. Hopefully you can muster up a bit of energy to SWI but if not you can get merrily drunk at crimbo lol Xmas Smile. How long have you been ttc now? Sorry my memory is crap. It's so hard not to obsess, I tried to talk myself out of symptom spotting the last few months but that didn't happen!!

Hi magic. Hope you are ok. I know what you mean about 'sex to order', so unsexy'!! My dp and I have been together 10 years and our sex life isn't what it used to be but we are only 25/26! How long have you been ttc?
