Hi all
I didn't want to hop on a bus because i'm not really aiming for a specific month to have a baby in so i thought i'd start a general "trying to conceive a 2011 baby" and see if anyone wants to join me :D

Congrats nannyl !

Hi all Not much happening here I think by the calculator I am due to ovulate soon, we shall see!

SWI every other day at the mo so OH is a happy bunny.

Iwish · 10/01/2011 17:44

Congrats nannyl you must be over the moon :)

Hey weimy what cd are you on? Is it 10? I'm on cd11 and am just waiting to OV too. Last month it was cd16 bit could be anything from 13-21 I reckon. . And we will SWI until FF confirms OV.
Started opks yesterday. It's such a killer as I can't drink from 12:00 just do I can do the test at 5pm.

nannyl · 10/01/2011 18:51

thanks

yes we are very happy... and i really LOVE not having to take my temp and chart etc at 7am every morning!

Iwish · 10/01/2011 19:43

Haha bet its fab being able to sleep right through, well that Is until the little one arrives and it will sleepless nights all round. :)

Hope this month Is my month. This ttc malarkey is taking way to long for my liking.

weimy · 10/01/2011 20:43

Hey Iwish I am on CD10, so not far behind you! This is only my 2nd cycle so I am not really sure when I Ov but last cycle I didn't get a +ve on the opk but didn't have many and started on day 11, I might well be a late ov'er. :)

Iwish · 10/01/2011 21:57

Hi weimy yeh you might OV late. I did mine from cd10 to cd16 last cycle and got 2 lines on cd15 but they weren't as dark as the control line so technically negative but FF said I ov'd cd16 and had an 11day lp. Keep SWI as long as you can just so you don't miss the little eggy. Hopefully we will be in the 2ww together and can do some chart stalking lol :)

panpipe · 11/01/2011 16:15

Hello all!

I've checked in on the First Timers thread but am living in hope that I can join this too as with any luck I'm planning on baby #1 arriving this year!

We got married in June and decided to start ttc towards the end of last year (or a couple of week ago, depending how you look at it!). Am crossing my fingers at the moment as AF is currently 2 days late, but I'm going to sit tight and wait until the weekend before doing a test; it's my first month off the pill so I have to give my poor body the chance to settle itself into a 'normal' cycle!

I'm not charting or anything at the moment, just seeing how things go for a few months and lots of SWI lol! :o

Iwish · 11/01/2011 20:24

Hi panpipe. Welcome to the thread. Oooh 2 weeks late. Did you have your withdrawal bleed after you stopped the pill? I had mine as normal then had next one 27 days later.

gillythekid · 11/01/2011 20:26

Congratulations to all newly expectant mums. First showing of AF in a looong time has gone and today I bought some ovulation sticks. When should I start checking as I got my period last Tuesday so now is day 8, have I got that right? I have no clue what I'm doing and DH is working away anyhow but I'd like to get to know my cycle and if it's regular after all those years on the pill!

Iwish · 11/01/2011 20:36

Hi gilly if af first arrived on Tuesday then yeh today will be cd8. What are your usual cycle lengths? I start testing cd10 as my cycles have been from 25 days to 32 days so I didn't want to miss it. I was on the pill for 10 years.

Summerbird73 · 11/01/2011 21:30

Hi ladies

I think i jumped on here a couple of weeks ago but DH and i started TTCing - er last night Blush so i would love to join your thread Smile

I was only on CD4 yesterday but we are going for it this time! every other night this week, every night next week and every other night the week after - phew! DH reckons he is prepared to suffer for the cause - yeah right!

We have a 19mo DS so are hoping for a DC2 this year. Congrats nanny hope to be joining you soon! Grin

panpipe · 11/01/2011 23:51

Hi Iwish I've had one AF (is that the same as a withdrawal bleed?!) at the usual time after coming off the pill and today is day 30 after that started. I've read about a few ladies who have 30+ day cycles so realistically I'm probably one of those.

Welcome Summerbird - hope DH doesn't find the task too onerous Wink

Summerbird73 · 12/01/2011 09:31

well panpipe my cycles have never been more than 29 days, but then thats just me as i know some who have gone longer. i think testing at the weekend is sensible, dont do it any later though - as i am already excited for you! Grin

yep DH actually set the timetable for the month! in fact he wanted to go every night and i had to rein him in! he thinks all his xmases and birthdays have come at once!!

gilly i know nada about OV sticks - when i came off the pill my AF pretty much returned to normal straight away - good luck!

hiddenme · 12/01/2011 09:44

Hi all - thought I'd pop in :)

We have taken the plunge after months and months of deliberation and have decided to ttc#4. We are giving ourselves a time frame though as would prefer it to be this year so fingers crossed.

This is my first cycle off the pill so I'm hoping it doesn't take too long. DC1 took 11 months, DC2 took 1 month and DC 3 was 3 months.

Summerbird73 · 12/01/2011 10:27

No4? i am soooo jealous! how lovely, and good luck!

this will be our last as i am 38 this month, i can cope with being a 40something new mum but cant be arsed with being a 50something mother of teenagers!

Hi panpipe yeh if it was the bleed after you stopped taking the pill like before your usual 7 day break. Yeh you might have a long cycle, ive had a 32 day a couple of months ago! I think you should test Saturday am if no af , how exciting!!

Lol summerbird all his Christmas's and birthdays have come at once!! I have to try and persuade my DP to SWI sometimes!

Welcome hidden! number 4 flippin eck. Good luck :) I just want #1 lol

Well im on cd13 here and FF thinks I ov'd cd10 but I'm pretty convinced I havnt. Only just started getting ewcm today!

Summerbird73 · 12/01/2011 19:33

hi iwish yep he is just loving the sudden attention Wink

does anyone else get a sharp pain in either their left or right side when they ov? i always have done and my mum said she got the same, us summerbirds always know exactly the point when we ov which is bizarre. i rushed home from tesco when we were TTCing DS and announced to DH 'i;m ovulating' honestly it is a hoot!

trouble is you need to go for it a day or two beforehand so it wasnt foolproof! Grin

Iwish · 12/01/2011 20:10

My DP just says I'm a sex pest and Is pretty much ready for a rest after OV lol! Charming!

No I don't notice anything when I OV. I wish I did though! Bet it's strange knowing when exactly you OV?!

VintageNancy · 12/01/2011 20:27

Hello I'm new and hoping for a 2011 baby :)

Been TTC for 3 months now - am in the mad symptom spotting tww stage at the moment!

I don't use OPKs or anything but like summerbird I get ov pain so I'm pretty certain I ovulated 6 days ago.

weimy · 12/01/2011 20:38

Hey all!

Hi to all the new guys!!!

This is a TMI question so look away if you are squeamish!

You know ewcm is that just the white stuff? To check for it I don't have to ferret about do I?

And seeing it in your pants is that a sign of ov? Cos TMI I have spotted that and the peestick shows what I think is a positive. Am I now basicaly just waiting for a temp rise now?

Lol at 'sex pest' Iwish!

mslk · 12/01/2011 20:45

Congrats nannyl

Hello everyone, nice to see some new faces, as it were!

Have been quiet on here for a while as trying not to get too obsessed with TTC but it is annoyingly in the back of my mind all the time!!

I'm on CD15 and doing my OPK's and temping, no sign of OV yet but maybe in the next day or two....or 4!!

I don't seem to have much enthusiasm this month. I think post wedding and Christmas blues topped off with loads on at work are draining me. Sad

Must stop feeling sorry for myself Blush

mslk · 12/01/2011 20:51

Hi Weimy

EWCM is supposed to most resemble real egg whites and be very stretchy between finger and thumb. Some people go ferreting for it while others notice when they wipe or in their pants. From what I've read.

By the sounds of it you're about to OV!! Get some SWI in. Good luck

Iwish · 12/01/2011 21:15

Hi weimy just as mslk says. It's usually clear cm that stretches when you pull your fingers apart. I got ewcm for 3/4 days before and Inc OV last cycle. The little swimmers use it to help swim towards the eggy. Sometimes I get it in my pants and sometimes I have to ferret around. I started getting it today but only a tiny bit.

Hi mslk. I know what you mean about it always being at the back of your mind, I find myself at work with my mind wandering to baby grows and prams! Hope you OV soon but in the meantime keep SWI and hope you feel a little better

weimy · 12/01/2011 21:21

Hey mslk Iwish thanks! Totally know what you mean, TTC is always on my mind too. xxx
