Velvetcu · 27/10/2010 19:21

I didnt count my post-ERPC one either, although maybe I should write all of mine off since they have all been WTF!

Can't believe its Thursday already tomorrow! Where is my half-term going?? Going to London to see War Horse for the MILs birthday tomorrow so that should be a good day out.

Yes to whoever it was who said (Jam I think??) about DH wanting to move on from bad events - he says its done, nothing can be changed get on with it. He keeps saying it doesnt matter that the whole world are announcing pgs, it has nothing to do with us. Im just feeling stressy about dates - close friend who is a week behind us went on maternity leave today :(

I feel like all I've done is moan on here last few posts so I will be better tomorrow I promise!! Someone needs a BFP to cheer me up and give me hope.

HeadlessLadyBoo · 27/10/2010 19:47

Hello Getdownyouwillfall - I feel like I know you, but I think it's just because everytime I've seen your name on MN I imagine a small child perilously perched on the back of my sofa Grin

But I'm very sorry you've suffered the miscarriage. Do expect your emotions to be up & down - most of us join the thread desperate to be pregnant again straight away. Some wait, some don't, some get pregnant quickly others have to settle in and manage a long haul and others find there are bigger issues to deal with. Recovering from this isn't a straight line, unfortunately, more like twists and turns and hills and valleys.

Izzy I think you could have a LH surge but no ovulation, or you could get the surge and delayed ovulation, or you could get the surge, but it take a while before the progesterone levels kick in and you get a temp shift (which is what seems to happen with me).

I have the gin open and the boy in bed. Thanks for the potty training ideas - so far, every day I have thought to myself, ok, that's it, he's clearly not getting it, we'll leave it for a bit. But I think I need to talk about it with the childminder as she's had two children of her own and nannied several whereas I'm clueless about this, and have no idea about whether this time-frame and his progress (if there is progress?) is normal/usual/reasonable or not. DS is 2.6 btw, and he's got great communication, can pull his pants up & down, he can tell me what he needs to do, so understands it, and has gone without peeing for several hours, as well as woken up dry from his nap, but so far doesn't seem to recognise himself when he need to go. Sorry sorry, don't mean to offload all this on this thread.

thanks HeadlessLadyBoo I have a 2 year old who is always precariously perched on something or other, so it seemed an appropriate name for me,

thanks for your gracious welcome and wise advice. Have spent most of the day crying so as you can imagine my face is red, puffy blotchy mess. Im starting to reach acceptance though.

It totally sucks though. I naively and stupidly told a few people, thinking all would be fine. Had to un-tell them today, so got all the usual pats on the head and "nevermind, it was very early" "nevermind it will happen again".

Have cracked open the wine.

PinkFondantFancy · 27/10/2010 20:04

velvet (()) for you, having a close friend a week behind must be v hard for you :( I keep having to try and stop thoughts going round and round in my head. Like the guy at work who's wife is about to have 20 week scan must have just got their BFP when I was in the middle of a mc world of doom, so why are they going to have a happy ending when I didn't???? I know there is no answer to that but still can't stop it going round and round. I think that's what gets to me even though I'm trying to focus on the fact that them having a baby doesn't take away me having mine. Just feel resentful that ttc and being pregnant is going to be nothing but stressful and upsetting for me yet it's all fluffy and happy for them :( dooooooommmmmmmmm!!!!!

Also plan detox is leading to nothing but misery, even colleagues have noticed!! Having said that I feel thinner already and I started reading some scary research about the effect sugar had on b vits, your blood and oestrogen eeeek!! I got distracted by having to do some work though, will try and find and will post here if interesting. So if it actually has an effect on actually getting up fudged I'll stop whinging and embrace the lentil curry and minestrone soup I'm currently living off.....

Thanks for looking at my chart girls, am v grateful for your reassurance. I bought a proper bbt thermo from boots today so am going to use both thermos for rest of cycle to see how they differ!

owlinnerds how can you be so sure of AFs imminent arrival??? I bow down in awe of your lack of hpt stash!! Bring able to booze with inlaws coming will devo take edge off AFs arrival tho if she does (I hope she doesn't tho!!)

Hi getdown sorry you find yourself here :( I hope you find it a reassuring place to hang out for a bit. I'd do another preg test as once it goes neg you'll know you've prob got another few weeks until AF starts. I hope DH is spoiling you.

Sorry if I've not namechecked anyone, on phone on train trying to stop all my belongings rolling away! Have a lovely evening all apprentice tonight yay! Xx

nickstermum · 27/10/2010 20:27

getdown sorry you are on here :( it sucks doesnt it? ((((HUGS))) re hte cycle, i think it depends how far in you went, plus how it was "removed" ie naturally or eprc which ultimately determines how long it takes to get back to normal - so i keep being told. Whether that is true i dont know [hgrin] My WTF cycle was 3 weeks after bleed stopped, no apparent ov, My first cycle just complete post MC has been 4 days shorter than normal so thats good. My stress levels i think delayed ov tho. It does get easier, we were all blubbering wrecks on here in the beginning, cry as it helps! xxxxxxxx One thingi will say is that no matter how early it was, it is still YOUR loss, your baby, your dreams shattered in an instant...just try to ignore the do-gooders comments and take the time you need to grieve. Its not stupid telling everyone. I did! First pg i told select friends and fam at 5 wks (took to term) last pg i think just about everyone knew....... its hideous untelling! But you arent alone :(

Izz how many times is 'plenty' in a night, and how do you have the time? (or the energy!) [hgrin] [henvy]

gizzards still not managed to change my name!! DONT KNOW HOW BUT WANT TO - buggeration!

fondant stop whinging and get on with it [hgrin]can you tell my mother is cruel a matron?

Gah gotta go, DS is not wanting to sleep this eve........got my lurgy bug [hsad]

nickstermum · 27/10/2010 20:31

BOO 2.6 is early still for a boy! MY DS just 3 and still poos his pants! and has lots of accidents! All different, and yet my friends DD was trained at 17months (so advanced dont'ya know? [hangry])

I on the other hand have had a better day! [hwink]

Urbanlolly · 27/10/2010 21:00

And here it is again, thought i should up date my status, bout time me thinks...wouldnt dare on phone, dh sound asleep so nipped onto his precious!!!

MummyAbroad · 27/10/2010 22:11

Hello everyone

Getdown, I am really sorry for your loss. I told everyone I knew that I was pregnant too, and then winced about it for ages, you are not alone. Also having an mc does tend to magnify any feelings of guilt, anger and sorrow that you have, so do try and recognise that its a natural response and dont beat yourself up too much. I found This site was a great help to me, I think I have read nearly every page. Helped me a lot trying to work out if my recovery was normal (wasnt unfortunatley, I still havent got a period 7 months later eeek!) I agree with the others, now is the time for treats and indulgance, here is your welcome pack

Izzy I'm struggling to find a way to say this without sounding like a nag or wierd or something, but I think you should do some more shagging! I would trust a temp rise any day of the week over CBFM peak. I believe this because peak (LH surge) means ovulation imminent/likely but not that its definitely happened, I would start shagging at the peak and keep going until the temp rise if I were you. Bear in mind that when you put your SWI dates in FF it will haunt you all through the two week wait as it draws a pretty chart called "Intercourse timing" and labels your efforts "Score = GOOD/FAIR/PATHETIC" (OK so that might not be the exact terminology, but it can feel like it!) Sorry if you are knackered and its not what you want to hear...Tell me to mind my own business if you like though!

MummyAbroad · 27/10/2010 22:26

LadyBoo Hang in there with the potty training - its great when its done! Watching Potty Time with Elmo one zillion times helped DS sort out all his issues pretty quick, although having only ONE topic of conversation for so long didnt do much for my social skillsHmm

He also enjoyed "teaching" the dolly I bought him how to use its own plastic potty - especially when dolly got sweets when she got it right, that made him sprint to his own potty! Unfortunatley DH has big issues with his son playing with a pink dolly, (latino man thing) so that was a bit short lived. I knicked the idea from Dr Phils Potty Train in One Day (pffff yeah right!!) It took us a few weeks but I am so glad its done. Keep at it!!!

Urbanlolly · 27/10/2010 23:08

sorry got days wrong just been consulting FF, NIGHT NIGHT ALL hope tomorrow is a good one XX

mummya noooooooo....!!!! > actually, we can't at the minute because I'm at my parents' and dh isn't joining us until the weekend, so we're having a break. But in any event, I'm on day 22 and have never had a cycle longer than 29 days, so if I do ov now it'll be pretty pointless anyway.

And just to reassure you nicks we never manage more than twice a day (nothing compared to knitter I know!). This month it's been once a day but the problem is the length of time it's been ongoing (got my first CBFM high at day 10). So it's really not that impressive, and for the record next month I am definitely just doing every other day until peak, then daily for a few days, because it has really been a bit much this time round [no stamina emoticon]. Dh was saying last night that he needed a break but (at my look of horror- bearing in mind 2nd day of peak - and with an utter lack of enthusiasm) "don't worry we can keep relentlessly banging away at it tonight" Blush. Then we just ended up laughing until we cried, so at least if romance is truly dead chez izz we are managing to keep a smile on our faces Smile

I am so not looking forward to seeing my intercourse timing chart on ff - I just know it's going to be 12 days of " great effort but complete waste of time" followed by a week of "why weren't you shagging now?!" and then straight into AF.

Now then, back to the important stuff - who is testing?!!

MummyAbroad · 28/10/2010 01:11

Day 10 till day 21 Blimey, you must be knackered! Thats way more than DH and I ever managed, no wonder you want a break. I'm a glad you and your DH are keeping a sense of humour about it all.

strange that you havent had your temp rise though hope it shows up soon. xxxx

MummyAbroad · 28/10/2010 01:48

News flash: I have got blood in my knickers. Had a bit of spotting after the gynelogical torture procedure yesterday, but didnt think much of it, but its 24 hours later and just had a noticeable splodge. (still on the pill by the way) Not sure what to make of it.

Forgive me if I relay details of every drop over the next few hours, after 7 months of waiting for normal periods to resume, this feels really momentous.

BrownB · 28/10/2010 06:08
