just sneaking in to wish a very happy birthday to lanky, and a happy birthday for yesterday tomboy too. Extra birthday cake and waves to everyone else.
ps flick ace news about MrF's super sperm and your fab follicles!!!

MissFlick · 09/11/2010 09:44

Only me again, thanks for all your excitement about my follicles, it's only on here that follicles could cause such excitement isn't it?! Grin just on my way home from doctors now and I have a dominant follicle-yippee! It's on my right ovary and it is 14mm. I have to go back on Thursday and if it's 18mm she will give me the trigger shot so keep sending those growing vibes my way :)

truff he was so proud! I had to bring him down a peg or two and tell him that if they were that good I would already be pregnant! I've been meaning to ask you for ages, how is your gorgeous new mattress going?!

Thanks garden I was relieved to see only one dominant follicle! Are you booked in for a progesterone test again this month? How are you feeling today with all the hormones? I loved raspberry's description of the injection being like a big dose of PMT in a needle. Sounds like it's exactly right. I meant to tell you that I have downloaded the couch to 5k application onto my phone and went for my first run on Sunday! I'm planning on going tonight when I get in too, I'm so not a runner!

Josie glad you're feeling a bit brighter today sweet. My mum works in a home for deaf adults who can't lie on their own. She loves it! She has learnt sign language as part of her job and is always getting to go on trips and holidays with her residents. I think you would be great as a carer :)

Great news on the dominant follicle Flick - Best of luck with your next scan and the trigger. Also best of luck with the running -I am so not a runner too - totally hear you on that wierd thing some people call running.

LankyLegs · 09/11/2010 10:01

Hello All!

Garden I hope you are ok - sorry you are feeling a bit down and it does sound like it was the Hcg shot - chin up chica. I know this journey can be quite challenging xx

Womanly also hope you are ok too. You are a very strong woman and don't you forget that. Remember we are all here if you need to vent. I hope this vweek is positive for you as well.

Flick you have a very good memory - thanks for the birthday wishes. I am off work today and we are just going to potter around and enjoy not being in work. Sounds like those follicles are progressing - its good you are going back for another scan to see how they will be developing. And great news on MrF's swimmers too. Big tick there! Well done for not trying to obsess to much either - it is hard isn't it though?

Thanks you to lovely cherry and josie for birthday wishes. Josie lovely to have you back my dear but sorry to hear work is so shit. I know the feeling.

Waves to everyone else!

I have actually forgotten what CD I am but I think ERTD is due at some point over the weekend. The thing that is making me not stress so much about TTC is that we have a completion date! We are moving out of our crammed crappy flat into a lovely big house on the 26th Novemeber and then its christmas and all that so I am rather looking forward to the next couple of months!

Also - the surprise birthday dinner was at L'Atelier Du Robuchon which was amazing - I still can not stop thinking about the food.

I just wanted to send some positive vibes into the Follicles (esp since I have been rubbish the last few months) but as Flick said I am trying to be grateful for all the other great things in life that I intend on thoroughly enjoying (at least for the next couple of months!)

Right - off to figure out what to do with the day - Tuesday off work rules!

xxx

LankyLegs · 09/11/2010 10:01

Tomboy happy birthday for yesterday too - I hope you had a lovely day!! xxx

gardenpixie · 09/11/2010 10:12

Hi Lanky that's great news about your completion date! And a big happy birthday to you Grin

Truff bridesmaiding is v exciting! Good excuse to buy lovely clothes, shoes and jewellery and spend time planning a piss up hen party

Josie that's lovely of you to have compiled a pressie for your friend. I bet she really appreciates it. I don't work as a carer but one of the many jobs I do is working as a hypnotherapist and I have to say I love it. It's so rewarding knowing that you've helped someone feel better; I know it sounds corny but it's true! Definitely worth looking into caring if you feel drawn to it

MissFlick that's great news about your dominant follicle - hurrah! My consultant reckons they grow at 2mm per day so I'm sure yours will be ready to ov on Thurs - hurrah! Thanks for asking re the progesterone test, yes I am having one on Friday (CD21) although I need to find out if I can do it on Thurs instead as Mr G and I are off for a long weekend and I don't want to make us late by schelpping into the hospital.

Hope everyone's Tuesdays are going well xx

JosieSmith1 · 09/11/2010 11:23

Ha ha MissFlick, I thought that?s what you meant Grin. I want to do something more worthwhile with my time, would quite like to visit elderly people in their homes, do a bit of cleaning, maybe take them out, I?m not sure exactly what it entails, and I?d need enough of a salary to cover my ever increasing cost of living Blush but am definitely going to look into it. DH?s friend became a carer and she?s told me a little about what she does and she loves it, might see if I can follow her around for the day sometime

Thanks Lanky, it?s good to be back, work isn?t too bad today as we?re having a bit of a quiet day with it being colleague?s last day, after that it?s going to get much much worse but hey, I?m Wonder Woman GrinGrin

Garden that?s exactly the feeling I want, to know that I?ve made a difference to someone. I work in probation at the minute and it?s all negative press and no-one appreciates us, so I definitely don?t want to work with offenders.

Truffkin · 09/11/2010 14:46

I know Josie I am really excited about it. I have been a bridesmaid several times but only since getting married myself do I feel I have actually been useful to the bride and done a good job! For my sister I pretty much organised the wedding as she is really not a planner and got a bit overwhelmed plus she got married only 4 months after me so I was very much still in wedding mode! For my best friend I was extraordinarily proud of the fabulous hen weekend I arranged for her, we had a great time. The friend who has asked me this time was actually TTCing with her partner but he decided he wanted to be married first when it came down to it (bless him, such a traditionalist!) and proposed a couple of weeks ago. I have loads of ideas for little things we can do for her and really can't wait for the planning to begin. The only bugger is that we live in different cities, but that just makes for more girlie weekends visiting eachother for wedding talk Grin

The present you made for your friend sounds lovely by the way, very thoughtful of you. Regarding caring, my sister does exactly the job you have described, caring for elderly or housebound people. She does a variety of things including shopping, cooking, personal care and most importantly companionship. One of the great things is that most of the time she can work around childcare so her shifts fit in with when her husband is at home or my Mom can pick up my nephew from nursery. She has done various caring jobs (residential respite care, childcare, elder care) and is really good at it. I think it?s definitely a ?calling? that she has, she loves getting to know her clients and they all have their own little ways.

Flick that?s great news, am sending growth vibes your way and really hope this is your cycle. Would be so exciting to get another BFP on this thread and I am in awe of your chilledness. Thanks for asking about the mattress (LOL) we are absolutely loving it! It came the Friday before last and we were back at home for the weekend so didn?t get to try it until the following Monday night. I went out and bought stupidly expensive lovely new bedding and it?s just one of the nicest feelings ever Smile In fact DH emailed me at work on Monday to say ?I love our bed, I had the best nights? sleep ever last night? so he is equally excited. I think it really is conducive to successful TTCing!

Happy birthday to Lanky too, sounds like you are having a lovely relaxing day. Is that Joel Roubuchon?s place in Covent Garden? I have never been but people absolutely rave about it. Must add it to my (ever growing!) list of ?to do? places. Actually while I think about it, can you recommend anywhere near Marylebone I could take my grandparents to for dinner tomorrow night? They are visiting for the day and we'd like to take them for a meal before they get the train home but I don't really know that part of town. We want something relatively low key as they aren't really posh diners! I was thinking of the Windsor near Regents' Park (Primrose Hill) but have been there several times so thought a new place would be nice. All recommendations gratefully received!

Garden where are you going for your long weekend? Sounds like a lovely idea, something we often talk about but never actually arrange! Hope you can rearrange the test to leave you with enough time to enjoy your weekend away.

Sorry for mammoth post, I had a lot of catching up to do!

highheelsandequations · 09/11/2010 17:47

Just popping in to say happy birthday to Lanky, a belated happy birthday to tomboy and yay for MissFlick's follicles! Plus garden hoping you'e managed to recover from the PMT injection. No time to catch up now as have book group tonight but hope to come and see how you're all getting on in the next few days. Will have to keep my eyes out for any news from raspberry as well.

LankyLegs · 09/11/2010 18:03

Thankyou lovely garden , Truff and Highheels for b'day wishes. How are the symtoms going HH??

Truff are they steak people? There is this great steak place off Marylebone High Street - which you can not book but all they do is steak and frites with a choice of sauce and they come around with seconds of steak! Its great www.relaisdevenise.com/

Hope everyone has had a good Tuesday xxxx

LankyLegs · 09/11/2010 18:04

P.s Truff do stick L'Atelier on the list - was truly exceptional....

womanlytales · 09/11/2010 18:15

Happy Birthday Lanky - Hope you have a wonderful day and great news about the completion date just in time for Xmas... sounds fabulous :) Live it up.

Truffkin · 09/11/2010 18:38

Thanks for that Lanky that place looks perfect! This fred is great Grin

Florin · 09/11/2010 18:38

Hello! Completly selfish post from me but I am super excited. I think I have just ovulated major ewcm haven't had it for about 4 months so it's a big thing for me plus timing should be good as swi everyday for the last 5 and will keep going for the next few just to be sure. Now off to have a glass of wine to celebrate!
lanky happy birthday hope you have had a lovely day!

Will catch up later but had to share my excitement (it's not exactly the thing you can share on facebook!)

TomboyWife · 09/11/2010 21:11

Evening ladies!

Thanks for all the birthday wishes yesterday. We didn't do anything too exciting, just went for a curry at my favourite place. Yummy as usual, which is why it's my favourite.

Lanky happy birthday for today and congrats on your completion date! The completion date really makes it all seem real, doesn't it?

Florin congrats on your eggy lady snot. Gawd, I never thought I'd be saying that to anyone. Shock

MissFlick congrats on your dominant follicle. Yet another thing I never thought I'd be saying to anyone. Grin

Not much happening here. I've been getting a little bit of EWCM so might be ovulating/about to ovulate. We've been good about SWI frequency up to now, but DH is really stressed out and depressed about work this week, so I'm not sure he'll be up to much tonight. Thank God his contract only runs til Christmas - I don't think he'd have any sanity left otherwise.

highheelsandequations · 09/11/2010 21:20

I'm sat here with a big grin on my face imagining the status update Florin is excited about her cervical mucus!

Syptoms are okay so far Lanky, have very sore boobs all the time and odd bouts of nausea but not too much yet (so of course I'm worried that I'm not sick enough :o), very tired though, been heading to bed at about 9pm every night. Also am starving and eating continuously! At this rate I'll have put on a stone by Christmas. Have been very lazy as well, sitting watching telly and eating biscuits instead of doing any form of exercise! So exciting about your moving house, and glad you had a lovely dinner.

Sorry but can't catch up with everyone else just now, need to collapse! In the meantime, have some chocolate truffles with me and hope everyone's well. xxx

HRHCavey · 09/11/2010 22:21

Hello all, I'm still here lurking!

Just wanted to let you know that there has been another arrival on the Grads thread.

Hugs and waves to all Grin

MissFlick · 10/11/2010 03:54

Morning all,

Just popping my head in to say hi today. I am off on a camp with 60 year 9 students tonight- I really don't want to go! I'll be back to catch up with all tomorrow night, if I survive!

Great news on the ovulation florin it all sounds really promising!

Hi,

Just been trying to catch up a bit, though have only gotten a few pages in... I used to be such a good little lurker too... :(

Anyway, just wanted to say hi to everyone. Kaloki - I REALLY want to see your pictures, and Worrisome has baby pictures up too, but for some reason my laptop won't let me view them. :(

Zippys - great to see you back. Grin How's your health been?

Hoping Kkas is doing alright. x

And (I know it's been a while!) but does anyone ever see anything of Sevans, maybe elsewhere on MN?

Right, sorry to anyone I know and have missed out. Hope you're all well. My poor little man has a nasty cold just now, and at seven weeks, as far as I can tell, I can't do anything to make him better, which is horrible, but I have a doctor's appointment at 12 just to be 100% sure... Poor baby's completely miserable. :(

slowshow · 10/11/2010 10:49

Happy hump day everyone! And by that I mean happy Wednesday. Those who are about to ovulate can of course commence humping.

Oh, that was crass wasn't it? But I couldn't resist!

Belated happy birthday Lanky! There are a few Scorpios on this thread Grin

Whoa MissFlick, that really does sound like hell. Batten down the hatches! Sending you positive follicle vibes as well.

Hello highheels - glad you're doing ok.

Good luck Florin!

Love to everyone I've missed.

Not much going on with me. Awaiting ERTD - that's pretty much it! The Mr and I are (quite stupidly) trying to decide whether to avoid conceiving next cycle because we don't want to have an educationally disadvantaged August baby Blush

Florin and Tomboy good look with the ovulation!

Hello to everyone else - hope you are all well

I have decided to book myself a scan this afternoon rather than go for the P blood test to see if I've ovulated. My consultant said I had to have the blood test from CD21-24 but that's when I'll be away in Dorset with DH. Apparently an ultrasound will be able to show if I've ovulated (I guess the follicle will have disappeared?) and I can have that today.

Right, best dash as am in a client's office so shouldn't MN too much

Will pop back later with an update from my ovaries!

xxx

JosieSmith1 · 10/11/2010 15:18

Thanks Truff that?s really interesting, sounds like just what I want to do. It?s funny as I can be quite antisocial but I think I?d enjoy something like that.

Congrats for ewcm Florin, have got my fingers crossed for you

PMSL at hump day Slow Grin

Hope your ovaries are looking good Garden

I can?t believe I?m at CD26 and totally chilled. Got lots of things on my mind at the moment so that?s probably why, I?m very distracted, won?t be by the time Friday comes Grin

highheelsandequations · 10/11/2010 16:12

Hi girls,

Hope you don't mind me still being here but could really use my fellow frolickers just now. Feeling very :( and also quite Confused Went for scan this morning and they couldn't find anything. Except apparently one of my fallopian tubes is full of fluid. So had blood taken and have to go back and have more blood taken on Friday to check my hcg levels are doing what they should. Then I don't know what happens. I'm trying to tell myself that it's just too early to see anything yet but of course am now worried sick. Have spent all afternoon at work trying not to burst into tears and think my boss now thinks I'm seriously ill as I had to request time off on Friday for another hospital appointment with tears in my eyes. Also have no idea what this fluid means. DP asked if it was normal, the nurse said it's reasonably common after ovulation but didn't mention in pregnancy and surely it's too long after ovulation??? Google says tubes full of fluid are a form of blocked tubes but can't find anything about tubes full of fluid and pregnancy except a mention in one article that the fluid can be lethal to a fetus, which of course has me absolutely terrified. Feeling very mixed up and unsure of what's happening. I'm assuming the hosptial are suspecting an ectopic so wanting to check my hcg levels but they didn't seem to tell me much. Assumed they would phone me back this afternoon with the blood results as well but they haven't yet so don't know what's going on. Trying to stop frantically googling but I just want some answers. It seems that every step of this journey is just being made extra difficult for us.

Sorry for long, rambling, selfish and mixed up post :(
