Good to hear from you zippys, keep us informed of the wedding plans :)

Happy weekends to the rest of the frolickers, I hope you are enjoying many cocktails and other unsuitable beverages :o

Toriajayne · 07/11/2010 12:04

Morning ladies. SOrry for my absence, the oulaws are here for the weekend and despite the fact I've been working for the past two days apparently my evenings are to be spent entertaining them as OH dropped me in it by finding a DofE conference to go to. Lovely. They're currently decimating my garden while I sit in the corner and hold my head.

Zippys Good to hear from you, very exciting about wedding plans :) Sucky news about funding though.

Lanky After buying a house this year AND going on holiday (for the first time since our honeymoon four years ago I should probably add) we're uberos skintos so trying to get most of it out of the way early. Not sure how I've ended up paying for so much of it as OH earns about thirty times what I did (ok, slight hyperbole but that's how it feels sometimes hehehe). Also means that I can send some of the Orkney ones up the road with outlaws this weekend and save on postage! Very exciting news about your move in date, I hate moving house, but I do love the excitemend of having a new place :)

Cavey Very glad to hear your salsa numbers are improving Grin

Flick Would love to help with wedding anniversary presents but we went a bit surreal with our cotton anniversary so didn't stick to it very much. I got him a book about sailing (figured the sails are made of cotton) and he got me something equally as odd (which I can't remember atm) hehehe.

Josie Sorry you're having a rubbish time. I don't have any nice wine or cocktails, but I do have five bottles of Grolsch for some reason.

Raspberry I have my eye on you!

womanlytales · 07/11/2010 17:51

Hello ladies,
Cavey - Great job with the huge turnout for your salsa classes and reading your post about building your house, I immediately thought gosh this is just perfect for someone like you with super organization skills and energy levels -- :)
Flick Will defer to Garden on the ewcm -- I tend to get it whenever and in odd times...perhaps has to do with my PCOS and fluctuating hormones?? Not sure... I do know though that on Clomid my follicle development is faster..So on the normal cycle I don't get to 18mm by day 8-9 but on Clomid I do.. DH and I typically start ttc cd 8 - 21 to catch the early, on time or late eggs!! This weekend though we were laughing about how exhausting our ttc schedule is..and we do not do it everyday..but every other day....
lanky Very exciting news about the exchange.. Big hug.
zippys Great to hear from you -- and love that you're planning a wedding.
Toria Hear you on the temps bit -- I found that very confusing and don't now. How long are the in-laws here till?

Anybody poasing this weekend? Lots of baby dust to you and hope we have some more bfps joining HH.

Am back again - or rather did not leave.. was lurking on some of the other threads in Conception ... and am trying to keep away from those where all the bfps go...
Can't believe it's a Sunday evening..we've had a really busy weekend -- with tons of cleaning at home in prep for the big party next weekend, and celebrating Diwali in the midst of all that and managing to go out on Sat night... plus saw Harry Brown...
Reading the other threads, I realized I am quite envious of the DPO state. Isn't it fabulous that some women know when they ovulated and then have a official DPO status...a la 10DPO. Then again the second half of the cycle is traumatic enough..with or without knowing you ovulated...because you always hoping for ovulation and then fertilization and then implantation and then that BFP....and then nine months later that particular bundle of joy. DH and I had one of our serious chats again that started with a ...what if we are not able to conceive...Have decided to wait till end of the year (not far...1 cycle away) to start listing out options... IT started out with us being in Sloane Square (went to Saatchi gallery) and seeing all the kids with families out listening to Xmas carols... I felt a bit sad being single...and DH was upset seeing me get affected that way...
Once again I am highly amused at how incredibly large and real this 'wanting a baby' thing has become in my life...
It's a year now since we started all the testing...discovered the PCOS, the Clomid, and the docs still are fumbling for a solution... perhaps I will ovulate this month... though am bracing for the disappointment of not as well... Perhaps this will catapult us into the IVF reception.....
So monday is my progesterone test yes, that's tomorrow, I need to remind myself. Weds is my consultant appt. and then hopefully I will be in good spirits to host everyone for our party on the weekend. I need a couple of those special cocktails, frolickers am terribly nervous and the weight is going up.

Chat over, I hope you're enjoying your weekends and have a lovely week ahead.

Truffkin · 07/11/2010 21:07

Hi Womanly sorry you've had such a challenging day emotionally, it can be so hard seeing others have what you really want and are struggling to achieve but even more so when there is a hormonal 'need' for that thing.

Let's hope your tests this week give you some answers and let you take control of your situation. We're all rooting for you and here when you need to let off steam

P.S if it helps, having a definite date for Oving makes babyfail very difficult as you know you timed everything perfectly but are still not pregnant!

womanlytales · 08/11/2010 07:26

Thanks Truff - I do see the positive side too. Happy Monday ebody.

TomboyWife · 08/11/2010 08:48

Morning ladies!

And big hugs to womanly. It's so hard seeing others with the thing you want. Of course, not all of them will have got it terribly easily. I know I tend to assume when I see a pg woman that she got that way just by her partner sneezing at her, but I also know that's not necessarily true.

In other news, happy birthday to me! Today I am 36. The original plan was that I wanted to be pg before I turned 35. Ha ha ha... Confused

Truffkin · 08/11/2010 09:48

Happy birthday Tomboy hope you have a lovely day!

Am very much not impressed with the weather today. Battling with high winds in the eain whilst being very cold does not make for a good Monday morning commute. Add to that overcrowded buses and one closed tube station and the start to my day has not set me up well for a new week!

I did have a lovely weekend though, which always makes Monday harder work AND I have to hold meetings with people who are being made redundant, which is always horrible. Still, I am expecting to lay an egg at some point this week and we're off to a cracking (geddit?!) start with SWI yesterday and this morning - yay!

Hope evetyone else is having a better start to Monday than I have managed.

slowshow · 08/11/2010 10:39

Happy birthday Tomboy. I know how you feel about self-imposed deadlines.

I'm sorry you've been finding it tough Womanly. I look at people with babies all the time and wonder whether I'm going to join them one day. It feels so unattainable.

Horrendous weather today, isn't it Truff? I'm on annual leave today, had to wait in for some tradesmen to come and install loft and cavity wall insulation. Oh, my exciting life! I'm going to drag myself out of the house at some point today, I NEED to go to Starbucks to buy a bottle of gingerbread syrup Grin. Then I have to do some household chores that I was too lazy to do at the weekend.

Started spotting yesterday (CD23) as usual. I actually thought my period started this morning, but I think it's tailed off a bit, so it'll be a couple more days before it starts properly I think. I could do without a 23 day cycle!

Feeling quite down at the moment. It's irrational, but I feel like I'm in for the long haul. My Facebook is full of pregnancies and babies, and they all seemed to get pregnant pretty quickly (and I know this because you can time it back to their weddings!) so I keep thinking that if it was so easy for them, the law of averages says it will be hard for me. And I know that's a bit mad, but honestly, things don't seem to come easily to my husband and I, and I don't see why TTC should be any different Sad

womanlytales · 08/11/2010 13:09

Happy Birthday Tomboy :) I hope you have a lovely year ahead.
I feel bad now for drubbling along with my miseries -- and your birthday is just what I need to sit me up and smile... We have but one life after all and there are so many things to be done... :) What are your plans for the evening? Or did you do anything special over the weekend?
Hear you on the pregnancy thingie..everybody has their story, we will just have to go out there and grab ours :)
Was at the clinic this morning for my P test After unsuccessfully trying for some blood across both arms, this tall burly chap came in and stabbed me with the needle Yes, I do not exagerate. While he did that he asked if I live far or near..and the pain of the stabbing made me temporarily forget where I lived...I stuttered a 'I live relatively near..' and then promptly started to shiver uncontrollably - - a shock response... His response was -- 'All ok, love.' and he left the room.
There was a sign there though that had me going hmmm it was addressed to mothers and visitors with children..and the message went like this 'While we would love to have you bring your children here, we'd encourage you to be considerate of the feelings of others as well.'
Well, I thought, that's some message. Made me feel quite small indeed about my not so flattering attitude towards all things pregnant..and mumsy... A friend's invited a couple over for our party and they are pregnant...I heard this and groaned inwardly...Do I really want to have a conversation about pregnancy with someone else???? Now, though, I realize, I am being really petty.
slowslow I certainly feel the way you do -- DH and I always talk about how everything happening really slowly for us....DH though accepts it and sees all sorts of silver linings in these incidents...while I hold onto these nuggets in order to really crank up my self-pity moan :) I hope you see me and realize, you're going to perk up and see the lovely benefits of well trodden paths.

Agree about the terrible weather...planned to jog back from the hospie but opted for the tube / bus... it's the wind that's really cruel out there.

Hello lovely ladies

Happy birthday Tomboy I think your imminent little person just wanted to wait for you to enjoy your birthday drinks before turning up.

I am still laughing at the idea of someone getting pg by their partner sneezing at them. It does seem like that doesn't it?

Womanly Your DH sounds lovely! I definitely need to look at silver linings more. It will happen though - look at how speedily you got to a great big follicle this month, that must mean there'll be a little womanly looking around for somewhere to spend the next eight and a half months very soon.

When do you get your P test results through?

Hi MissFlick how are you finding the clomid?

Sorry for everyone feeling down at the moment - here, I've mixed up a large jug of stiff cocktails and I'm waiting with enormous glasses and a serving spoon at the ready... any takers?

I am having a very odd day - the HCG shot on Friday seems to have sent me completely bonkers. I actually started crying on the way into work today for no real reason (apart from the obvious Monday issue) and had to reassure well meaning and concerned gents on the train that I was fine and just a bit tired Blush I only hope it's worth it and that it's tempted an egg out!

The silly thing was that I wasn't stressed or upset or anything, it just caught me off guard. Oh well, I was never that hot on the whole sanity thing anyway and Mr G reckons he wouldn't notice much difference if I did turn into a total loon Hmm

I'm off to locate chocolate and tea to make up for the hideous weather. Hope everyone's afternoons are going well xxx

womanlytales · 08/11/2010 13:56

P test in - 5.1. They want to retest on Thursday. TTC continueth. Will update at the end of the week.
garden Hope you're feeling better now with tea and chocolate.

JosieSmith1 · 08/11/2010 14:24

Oh goodness, massive congrats to Highheels!!

Glad charting is working for you Truff, it certainly showed me a lot and I?ve only done one cycle, not even that really. My temps have dropped now so figuring I?m not pg but I?m actually quite glad as I?ve got so much going on, I?m really under pressure, not just at work, and it wouldn?t be good timing. Shock at your noisy neighbours!

Hope you buttcheeks feel better now Garden Grin

Congrats on wedding plans Zippy! Sorry to hear about funding but it sounds like you?re managing well. Enjoy every minute of planning a wedding and don?t get too stressed about the small details (like I did Blush). Easier said than done though I know.

Thanks for the Grolsch Toria. I don?t drink lager but up until last week I didn?t particularly drink at all so anything coming my way greatly appreciated.

Sorry to hear you?re having a bad time Womanly, hope you?re feeling better today. I have no idea what your results mean I?m afraid.

I?m sad to report I?m still having a bad time, just got worse after the weekend. But I am planning some changes so fingers crossed in a few weeks things will be better, although my mate at work leaves tomorrow (I?ve made her a little travel journal thingy with some off the beaten track things to see and do while she?s away) so things at work are about to get much much worse and to be honest I?m not dealing with it very well.

Anyway, sorry for whinging! Hope everyone is ok today.

raspberrytipple · 08/11/2010 17:54

Evening ladies, not been about much as have promised DP to reduce the amount of time I spend obsessing about being pg, I've got myself really stressy about it lately but he banned me most of the weekend and I did feel better for it. I dont just spend time on here, I go on everything.

I still have no ERTD!!! Lots of cramps and two BFNs but it's still not here yet. I have promised DP I wont go on too much this week so if you dont hear from me there is no news, I shall of course be straight back if I get a BFP!

Sorry to hear you are still having a crappy time josie its so hard when life is being a cow bag and work is just pants too. My work buddy buggered off travelling a few weeks ago too so I feel your pain!

oh poor you garden, those shots must muck you about something terrible, like a massive dose of PMT in one needle. Good pulling technique though, crying on a train! Might give that one a go Wink. im terrible if I cry and someone gives me some attention, I cry even more and then I can't stop and I get all snotty, god its awful Confused

womanly your blood extraction sounds horrific, what a git! Men Hmm

tomboy happy birthday to you, hope youve had a nice pampered day or are at least on the promise of one very soon xx

sorry to hear your feeling a bit down too slow. It really gets to me too seeing the whole face book thing. A girl I know had a beautiful baby boy who is just over two years old, well when she had him, within a year they said she had some sort of cyst on her one ovary and had to remove it and that the chances were that it would spread straight to the other so it would also have to be removed so if they wanted more to get straight to it. They removed her one ovary, gave her the go ahead to start TTC, THREE weeks later she was preggers. I was delighted for her because she always wanted four children and will now only ever have the two but she is chuffed with the two she has and knows she is lucky to have them. She is only 25 so if she hadn't have started young its unlikely she would have any. I'm only saying this really because I have down days when I see all the 'sneeze' and Im preggers people around and my friend is very much like that but actually she has been to hell and back. There is often a sad story behind a lot of pregnancies that we just dont know about and some of those girls have probably lurked on a forum like this and not wanted to talk about it once they finally get pregnant. Hope that helped and didn't make you worse! It will be our day one day sweetie xx

Hello to everyone else I have missed but gotta go, DP is home in a minute and I don't want to get into trouble for being naughty already - he has sacrificed xbox time in exchange for me keeping off mumsnet!!! ooppss Hmm

Happy monday evening all xx

gardenpixie · 08/11/2010 22:09

Hi Raspberry lovely to see you! Yes it does feel a bit like mega PMS ... Poor Mr G! You are so right about there being stories behind the scenes of other people's pregnancies - I guess the only people who really shout about pregnancies are the ones who had sneeze conceptions. Hope you are OK and got away with your sneaky MNing Grin

Thanks Josie my left buttock is feeling much better! I am so sorry you are having a horrid time at work and that your friend is heading off Sad It sounds really tricky so I hope things change for you soon. In the meantime, I've made you this special G&T with lots of boo-to-nasty-people-at-work in it.
I heard a great line at work today - a particularly whiney old trout was being very painful and someone turned around and said "how about a nice big mug of shut the fuck up." I thought I'd share that in case you need to borrow it Grin

Womanly it's good that they are giving you another test - it does seem quite early for a P test, when do you think ov'd? I thought P tests were meant to be a week before ERTD? Might be wrong though. I'm sure you'll have a lovely high number next time

Right ladies, I'm off for a spot of TV before bedtime. Night night all xxx

Truffkin · 08/11/2010 22:44

Ha ha Garden that quote from your colleague made me giggle, would love to try it but I'm definitely not bold enough! There is a thread in MN classics about work faux pas and I actually laughed out loud at some of them, very funny!

Exciting times for me this evening as my friend asked me to be her bridesmaid! They just got engaged a couple of weeks ago and are getting married next October, I can't wait to help with the planning and am already thinking of hen night ideas!

MissFlick · 09/11/2010 01:51

Morning All,

Sorry for being a bit AWOL- combination of being busy at work and not wanting to look at my computer when I get home in the evenings and also being a bit ?over? the TTC obsession. Of course I am not bored of you lovely ladies, I am just bored with thinking about TTC all the time and have enjoyed not focusing on it- bit like you raspberry. Lovely story about your friend by the way!! Fingers crossed for you this week honey.

Will attempt a very quick catch up now :)

Lovely to see you popping in zips I can?t wait to hear all about your wedding plans!

Happy birthday for yesterday tomboy :)

And I think I remember that it is lankys birthday today?! If it is and you?re lurking... HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

garden sorry the shot has made you all emotional, just shows that it is working and if it is working that well I?m sure that the egg will have popped out :) Did you say that you were having a higher dose of it this month? I love your colleagues quote!

truff that is so exciting! I am being a bridesmaid for the first time EVER in Feb and I?m really excited (none of my other friends are even engaged yet!) October is a gorgeous time for a wedding, the one we went to on the 2nd October was beautiful with all the leaves changing colour.

Hope things get better for you soon josie and that you?ll be back to your ususal sunny self soon xxx

womanly I agree with garden it does seem a little early for a progesterone test- what day did you have your injection on?Did you say you had a consultant appointment tomorrow- hopefully you can have a good chat about it all then. I hope you?re doing ok honey and look forward to hearing your update at the end of the week.

Hope you?re feeling a bit better today too slow - I think that nasty virus is still in your system making you feel down.

Hi to toria hope you?ve coped ok with the outlaws :)

In news from me, I had a scan on day 7, the day after I finished my Clomid and there were 4 or 5 follicles developing on each ovary which the gynae said was good progress. The biggest one on the right was 7.5mm and the biggest one on the left was 8mm (the smaller ones were around 5mm). I am going back today which is CD10 for another scan to see how they?re progressing.

Hope you all have a great Tuesday xxx

PS. forgot to say that all was good with Mr. F's sperm. My doctor even said that it was an 'exceptional' sample Blush Everything was double the figure for what is classed as normal! Now, I don't know what his sperm was like before of course, but he has been taking Fertilaid for men since March so I imagine that has had some impact on producing the super spunk so I can really recommend it if any of your want to give your men a little boost! xx

Hi Flick and nice work on being chilled! Glad you came to give us an update though as everything seems to be going well this month. I did LOL at the 'super spunk' I bet Mr F was very proud of himself!

Morning MissFlick hurrah for your excellent follicle growth and for Mr Flick's superswimmers! Very good news indeed Smile

It?s awful isn?t it Raspberry! Not only am I going to miss her, she?s made me feel like I could be doing a lot better so now I?m not happy at all! Been looking for a new job. Is anyone on here a carer? I?ve been thinking about doing something like that, would like to do something that makes a difference to someone?s life.

Garden that drink sounds like it?ll do just the trick, and the saying! It?s fab! Grin. The only good part about my friend going is that I can give her my hand made pressie of a travel journal. I downloaded some info about the places she?ll be visiting, some off the beaten track places she could visit, and have put them in a little notebook for her to take away.

Truff that?s fantastic! I had my cousin and my best mate as bridesmaids and I couldn?t have asked for anything more from them, especially on the day itself, they were invaluable for keeping me calm! I?m bridesmaid for my best friend in July and I?m loving going looking for dresses and trying stuff on! We picked up her dress last Saturday (none of her family would go with her Shock) and I nearly cried, as did she when I tried mine on earlier this year! It?s such a good bonding experience and we had such good fun. Sorry, went off on a bit of a tangent there Blush

Thanks MissFlick, much better today, think I got a lot of it out of my system yesterday so feeling stronger and better able to deal with it all today. PMSL at your DH?s super spunk GrinGrin, and fab news about your follicles Smile

Happy birthday for yesterday Tomboy, and happy birthday for today Lanky.
