Morning ladies!

I'll catch up properly later, but I wanted to say a huge congrats to highheels. Well done you! Grin

We had a lovely holiday (yea!), but ERTD turned up on Friday (boo!). I still have no clue what caused that 40-odd-day cycle. It could have been stress, of which there's been a lot about lately. I also half wonder if it was a chemical pregnancy, though the fact I never tested positive suggests otherwise.

Tomboy sorry ERTD turned up but really glad that you had a good holiday! Have updated you on the list Smile

highheelsandequations · 03/11/2010 09:28

raspberry sorry about BFN, fingers crossed that extra line develops in the next couple of days. Also hope you're fully recovered soon.

tomboy sorry about arrival of ERTD but glad you've had a good holiday.

womanly good to see you back, thanks for the hug and the congratulations!

roundtable sorry about absence of DH

Florin I felt exactly the same about not wanting to tell my parents, know they would have sent me off to a private clinic in an instant but didn't want them to worry, and also thought it would add to the pressure having more people asking what's going on. Your appointment will be here before you know it, is it with a specialist or your GP (sorry if you've already said this)

Flick glad the clomid seems to be going well.

HRH spoke to my acupuncturist and it's fine throughout pregnancy, she says that she just does more gentle treatments.

I am off work today as my tummy is playing up, not been feeling sick again yet but running to the loo every 30 minutes. Had to run out of a class yesterday afternoon so decided to give myself a break today. Trying not to feel guilty about taking the day off. Have been panicking as I've had some cramps, NHS direct said to try not to worry, GPs still won't give me an appointment before next Friday, it's probably just because of my poorly tummy but doesn't stop the worry. In other news, phoned the FC to arrange early scan and got an appointment for next Wed! Put the phone down thinking "gosh that's very early, is that right?", then realised that the dates I told the nurse I thought I'd ovulated between were actually a week too early (wrong diary page, oops). DP says I should phone back and tell them and rearrange but I did tell them I was unsure of the dates and they said they might see more or less than they expect to. Really want to just keep the appointment to set my mind at ease. What should I do?

slowshow · 03/11/2010 10:22

I think you should probably reschedule HH. If you have a scan TOO early, there really won't be anything to see and it won't put your mind at rest.

crazybutterflylady · 03/11/2010 13:10

just sneaking in to say check out crazydayz news on the grads thread! Grin
x

highheelsandequations · 03/11/2010 16:15

Phoned the clinic back and said about dates. They said I could keep the appointment or change it if I wanted. Asked if it would be a problem if it was too early, they said no problem, the worst that could happen is that they won't see anything in which case they'll give me another appointment a week or two later. Have confused them with my mad cycle though!

gardenpixie · 03/11/2010 17:54

Highheels how exciting about your scan - I think as long as you know it might be a bit too early to see anything, you might as well go for it. FWIW, I found this info on what you can see at various stages (sadly I was looking into ovulating tracking scans rather than pg scans but hopefully I'll be looking at booking a pg one soon)!

Hello everyone else, hope Wednesday is treating you all well Grin

MissFlick · 04/11/2010 02:13

Morning All,

It's been quiet in The Three Follicles over the past few days. Champagne is on on special offer... does that tempt anyone back?!

Raspberry sorry about your BFN. Everything crossed that it is a BFP very soon.

HH hope you're doing ok- I'm proud of you for taking a day off! I know how hard it is to bring yourself to do it even when you are feeling really poo. very exciting about your scan. Do you have a rough idea of your dates?

Glad your holiday was lovely tomboy :) sorry about your ERTD. Very strange to have a rogue 40 day cycle if you are normally regular but you're right- it could be down to stress so I insist that you relax for this whole month Grin

Thanks for the SWI info garden I am waiting to here back from the clinic today re. Mr.F's spermies. I called yesterday and the nurse put me hold so she could read the report before coming back to tell me that everything looked normal but it is practice to pass the report on to my doctor to confirm and that she or the doctor will calm back today to confirm. So it looks ok so far! Hope you're not too busy at work.

Also thanks to womanly for your info too. Hope work stops swamping you soon honey xxx

miss flick good luck with your dh's results.
karstan sorry to hear ertd has arrived
My bestfriend has just told me about her little girl having worms in graphic detail- think it might have put me off having children forever!
Happy Thursday everybody hope everyone has a lovely day-nearly the weekend :)

womanlytales · 04/11/2010 10:01

Hello ladies,
Happy Diwali to all of you :) Thank you flick - DH's party is next weekend. Am going to make cupcakes (and I have NO baking skills at all) so tips about how to get the icing right will be most appreciated..my trial run last weekend ended up with some very soggy icing!

Flick Also good to hear about your DH's sperm results - hope you get to speak with your doc soon to confirm. Glad you're sleeping well - when are you scheduled for your scan? And are you on Day 2-6 for Clomid..and is that 50?
HH Agree with garden - go for the scan you're booked and if you don't seen anything, rebook for the week after.
Sorry about ERTD showing up karstan and tomboy - though glad your holiday went well. Best of luck for your scan today garden
So apart from the crazy three days i've just had -- I did go for my CD9 scan on Monday - they spotted a 17mm follicle on the right ovary. They also gave me an injection and asked me to adminster it that night. I am due to go in for a blood test on Monday - CD16 (too early, no?) DH and I have been trying to ttc everyday though last night that was not possible. I was given an Oestodial injection. Garden dear - I need your help in figuring out what this does .. THe doc did say it helps the egg mature and typically ovulation is expected in 36 hours... am feeling nervous we didn't ttc weds night..but we did mon and tues.... also very very nervous as in what if this doesn't work..tthen what? aaaaahhhhh LOL / I prefer when I really busy at work because then I don't get room to go all dramatic!
Best of luck to those of you poasing this week :)

gardenpixie · 04/11/2010 10:18

Morning lovelies

Just a quick one from me as I need to run off for my scan (eeeek) but just wanted to say happy Diwali to womanly and the injection you have will boost the levels of LH to ensure your follicle does its thing and produces a nice healthy egg ready to turn into a Diwali present for you! It also helps make sure the luteal phase is the right length.

I think there are fewer side-effects than an hcg injection and it works to boost your natural LH production rather than replace it.

Fingers crossed I'll be injected today or tomorrow so let's hope the needles are lucky for us both!

Will be back later with scan news - I am still feeling pretty certain it's not going to be our month (although I have no idea why I think this!) so any and all finger crossing will be much appreciated! Grin

womanlytales · 04/11/2010 10:35

I found some info about the injection I had - it's called ovitrelle -www.medicines.org.uk/EMC/medicine/14386/SPC/Ovitrelle+250+micrograms+0.5+ml+prefilled+syringe/
it says here to ttc on the day of the injection and the day after... so am reassured that we got that right. PHEW!!

womanlytales · 04/11/2010 10:37

Sorry about cross post Garden - Honey - All the very best with your scan, I've got all my fingers crossed that this is your month :) Thank you for the info, I feel reassured. Here's to wonderful Diwali presents for us :)

Toriajayne · 04/11/2010 11:09

Womanly Happy Diwali and fingers crossed your injection did it's job!

Garden Hope the scan brings some good news.

Flick Glad Mr Flick's spermies seem to be healthy at first glance. Fingers crossed for you too lovely.

Sorry to hear about ERTD tomboy but glad your holiday was good :)

HH How exciting that you have a scan booked already! Hope something shows up, but if not then glad they will book you back in so quickly.

CD9 already? How on earth did that happen? Have been in such a funk this month that I've repeatedly forgotten my folic acid and to take my temperature and generally have no idea what day of the week it is let along what day of my cycle! Am coming out the other side though, am on my third day off in a row so my house looks just lovely, and have a stack of Christmas presents out of the way, as well as a new party frock! Just taken delivery of a few more presens so will get them wrapped and out of the way and then spend the afernoon working on my NaNoWriMo project and knitting stockings. My friends' kids could open a knitted toy factory...

Just one quick glass, then I must be off, who'll join me?

slowshow · 04/11/2010 12:21

Hi Ladies, I've been quiet because I don't have much to report really. This flu is still lingering, but I'm back at work and feeling almost back to normal. It's amazing how, when you're ill, you forget what it feels like to feel 100% normal and well.

Happy Diwali womanly. My husband is technically Hindu but family don't really practice (well, his mum does a little) and he doesn't know the slightest thing about it! I love Indian sweets though - I have been known to eat jalebis until I feel sick Grin

Damn Facebook and its seemingly constant stream of new baby photos / pregnancy announcements. I hate feeling jealous.

Truffkin · 04/11/2010 15:19

Hi Frolickers, it is quiet in here at the moment! Clearly real life is taking over, which is clearly not asseptable Grin

No news from me as I'm CD11 and expecting ovulation about this time next week. We've both been absolutely knackered this week after a hectic weekend and long working days (plus the sodding tube strike yesterday - bah) so have only managed JSing once and that was before work on Monday morning. We have friends to stay on Saturday (a bit of a house full with 5 people - eek) but they usually leave early the next day so I'm hoping we can have a relaxing Sunday in preparation for a shagathon week!

Womanly Happy Diwali, enjoy the fireworks! I must confess to not remembering my GCSE RE studying about Diwali so I don't know much about the festival at all. Still, any religious festival is cause for great celebration in my view. I'm Catholic and my favourite festival is Easter (although I do also LOVE Christmas time too)

Slow with you on the FB thing. There seem to have been lots of prgnancy announcements from friends and family recently. Oh well, hopefully we will be joining them soon! Sorry you are feeling poorly, have this to cheer you up!

Toria so jealous of your tidying spree. As I mentioned above, we have guests this weekend and our flat is such a complete tip I have no idea how we are going to get it visitor-ready. They are arriving at midday so I think Saturday morning might be a frenzy of activity.

Hello Karstan I upated the list for you; sorry to hear about ERTD. Hope you're OK?

Toria you have done well! I am exhausted just thinking about christmas pressies! Good work - here, have a large glass of wine by way of reward

Slow I can't believe you are still feeling grotty - poor you! I hope you are able to take it easy and look after yourself. Here's a big hot toddy for you...

Truff the tube strike was indeed pants. I have done a lot of growling and muttering under my breath recently because of it - so now everyone thinks I'm mad but never mind

Womanly glad that the SWI times are going to work out for you! Hurrah!

Florin WORMS??? Ergh. It's bad enough worming my pets, the thought of little people with worms grosses me out! Maybe I'm not cut out for motherhood after all!

Cookie lovely to see you hope you're OK!

MissFlick how are you doing? Are you finding the clomid is treating you well? I hope you're OK and getting excited about the pills working their magic

Highheels how are you? I am still so excited for you - I can't imagine what you must be feeling!

Big hellos to everyone else!

So my scan was sort of OK although I am a bit confused. There was a follicle that was 16.5mm on my right ovary which my consultant thinks should get to at least 19mm by tomorrow evening when she wants me to have the hcg injection.

I thought that was good because she said before that 18mm or over is about right for ovulation. But she was still a bit concerned that I might not ovulate so has asked me to have a day 21 blood test anyway Confused

I guess it's not an exact science but I do like a bit more certainty! Coupled with the wierd feeling I've had that this isn't going to be a good month for us, I'm feeling a bit like a large G&T. Hmmmm

On the up side, at least there is one in there that could be viable!

Hope everyone's Thursday is going well xxx

womanlytales · 04/11/2010 17:35

mmmm garden I think it's the strain of being on this folliclewatch month after month it can be a drag on our emotional state.. I know you're feeling weird about this month...and so aren't seeing what I just read which is - great, we have a dominant follicle (that in itself is a fab thing..I have PCOS hence my hurrah) and you'll be taking the p test - - which is the only definitive way to know if you ovulated or not.. Have that large G&T - I feel like having one myself -- just to settle all those nerves around folliclewatch! :)

Truffkin Diwali is a known as the festival of lights when good triumphed over evil..so we wear new clothes, eat sweet things, use those fireworks to dispel sour things and darkness from our lives. I enjoy Easter (my sil is catholic) -- a) because of all the Easter eggs Blush and also I think because it's in spring.... and my favorite seasons are fall and spring... I kinda like the whole renewal and circle of life concept of these two seasons..

Toria I do have my fingers crossed...though I've also been indulging in chocolate...am really nervous... but you women are such a lovely lot -- I can't tell you how much sharing all this with you helps me and then reading your responses... It's fab. [OK, NOW I really need that large G&T before I go all soppy] Glad this cycle is going by fast for you... That's the key - - staying productive :)

Wave to Lanky You're in my thoughts Do post when you can :)

raspberrytipple · 04/11/2010 18:35

oh lord, top of the list bar one again. Been feeling very sicky today but I am sure that can be attributed to my ear infection which has made the side of my face go rather uncomfortably numb today and am still deaf in my right ear boo hiss. However, seeing as I pee'd on my last stick and I am not going to buy anymore until next week here are my psycho symptoms what I have spotted the last few days:

nausea, no puking as yet Smile but probably due to infection, antibiotics and painkillers Sad
pains in my boobs Smile but not sore or swollen Sad
back ache and a slightly trapped nerve type feeling every now and then Smile but I get this with PMT Sad
very, very tired at the moment Smile but not sleeping at all well due to ear Sad
creamy white CM Blush don't know what that means but think it might be PMT symptom Confused
v. hormonal nearly cried at work yesterday and today Smile but then I am very tired and uncomfortable and this is probably PMT Sad

Not sure what else I can think of? Name me some symptoms girls!! haha, going bonkers now, I'm sure we didn't do it at the right times this month so god knows why I do this to myself.

Sorry for the mememe, I will log in properly once ERTD arrives over the weekend..... unless it doesn't arrive Shock

Sorry, I'm in a funny mood today! Grin

ttfn xx
