Morning all :)

MissFlick I agree with HRH. Your friend is probably completely oblivious to how you are feeling as she'll be all wrapped up in hre pregnancy but I'm sure that once she realises how you're feeling she'll be more sensitive.

Slow so sorry about the crap birthday. Hope you have a day to make up for it very soon. I'm always ill on holidays, not much fun. I am also sceptical of alternative therapies but have liked the way acupuncture has made me feel. Hasn't yet had any impact on my stupidly long cycle but I've definitely noticed other changes.

HRH it's interesting to hear your experience of reflexology, and something I may consider at some point, but trying not to try too many things at once :o Do keep us updated on how it goes though. How was salsa this week? Hope you had a full class.

Toria glad you're feeling a bit better after your duvet day but sorry you had to go back to work. Glad the reflexoloogy is helping you too.

womanly glad the clomid isn't making you feel too awful. I completely agree with the whole privacy thing, although it can be a bt frustrating not having anyone to talk to (in RL) at times. Am also very impressed at your running. I tried to start running for a while, couldn't keep it up. Hope your party plans are going well and your sil's visit isn't too stressful.

Tomboy glad you're excited about being top of the list :) Still have my fingers crossed for you. Hope you have a good weekend and have some good news for us when you're back.

Truffkin hope you enjoy your new mattress and hope you're going to use it as an excuse for lots more SWI!!

Lanky sorry you've been feeling rubbish. Hope the acupuncture helped and you're feeling much better now.

Raspberry hope you're feeling much better now. You're brave for watching birthing videos :o I'd be worried that I'd get put off ttc! Love the idea of pojo :o I've definitely had a few sessions on this course when I've felt a distinct lack of it! I'm still finding the butterfly a little scary tbh, but keep forcing myself to practice it in the hope that it will soon feel normal! Must have been scary seeing someone fall, luckily that has never happened in one of our classes. We put our first inverts into a routine without the crash mats last night, and also started working on some partner spins, hard work but a good laugh!

Florin thanks for the positive RT vibes, keep sending them this way!

garden totally loving the idea of a huge communal sofa to meet up on for chocolate and cocktails. I love being on the sofa, it's almost my favourite place! Also very impressed with your cooker cleaning and run, I have managed to do neither of those things despite having a fortnight off work :o

evil sorry about ERTD but very glad your insides are working.

Hi to anyone else I've missed and waves to all the graduates that have popped in. Still no news here, I've decided that Monday (CD71!!!) is when I'll phone the clinic if I've no answer by then. Keep getting cramps but then they vanish and starting to fondle my boobs obsessively every morning trying to decide if they feel normal or PMTy or weird!

For those of you who've been sharing period stories, I also wish I'd never been on the pill. I went on the pill at 16, partially because I had very heavy and quite irregular periods (although compared to what I'm having now they were not that irregular!). Didn't like it and came off it a couple of years later. Then went on the depo provera injection and stayed on that until I was about 22 so had no periods. After coming off the injection, my cycle was completely messed up, didn't bleed for ages then bled almost continuously so doctor put me on the pill to fix it. I ended up getting pregnant after going on the pill (!) and then had a mmc. Since then I was on various brands of the pill and the mini pill until I saw a gynacologist about 3 years ago and he told me to get off the hormones so they could properly investigate what was going on with my body. So basically I havent had anything like normal cycles for 14 years, wish I'd never started the pill or the injection, and think I partially blame them for my hormones being out of whack now, or at least for it not being picked up for so long. Sorry, long story!

Have a good Friday girls, may be back later, supposed to be meeting a friend this afternoon but he is notoriously unreliable and has not yet reposnded to my texts or emails so not looking too hopeul!

MissFlick · 29/10/2010 10:09

Thanks cavey and hh feel better after coming on here for a rant! I think she genuinely feels so ill that she is not thinking about how I feel, and let's be honest, why would she be?! I know it is my issue to deal with so I will just grin and bear it (and rant to all of you when it gets too much) as I am much to much of a wimp to say anything to here even though we are very close.

Anyway, enough of that- glad you are feeling a bit better slow, I hope you are even better today.

I also wish I had never gone on the pill. My periods were perfectly regular and normal until I went on the pill at 18 and now look! Although cave I have to say that my periods were similar to yours on the pill but now I am off the pill they are heavier, last longer and are more red rather than brown.

Happy Friday everyone! [hgrin] xxxx

Hello all

Slowshow glad you are on the mend! I hope you are feeling much better and can celebrate your birthday properly over the weekend

Toria that's really interesting about reflexology; I've heard it can really help with TTC and I wondered if I might go and try a bit this afternoon. There's a little place up the road from me that does it and I figured with all the clomid I'm on my poor body could probably use some help!

Joining in with all the TMI, my periods were always really heavy and long (sometimes over a week)- I was on the pill for a few years about ten years ago and it didn't make much of a difference although the clomid has really regulated them so far. Hormones are just odd aren't they?

MissFlick that's such a tough situation for you. I guess it's not just that she is talking about being pg but that she's complaining about the symptoms. As you say, you and any of us would love to be in her situation so it's pretty insensitive. Could you try a few "at least that means the pregnancy is going well" comments to try to stop her being negative? Sending hugs and as much tact as I can muster!

Highheels that is rubbish about all the pills and injections screwing up your hormones. They don't tell you about that when you go on them do they?

Womanly how are you doing today? Is it your last day of clomid pills? I am sorry they are making you feel down, not fun at all. I hope you have time to pamper yourself and take it easy.

Big waves to everyone I've missed

Not much news from me - it's the last day of my magic pills this cycle so DH and I are on the count down to our shaggathon! I have a scan booked next Thurs to see if the pills have done their job ... I'm feeling oddly negative about the chances of getting pg this cycle, I think I've convinced myself the pills aren't working as I don't feel any different. Hmm Mr G is keen to give it his best shot though so at least the next couple of weeks will be fun even if my insides aren't doing what they're meant to!

Happy Fridays everyone xxx

Karstan · 29/10/2010 10:53

Cd 20 already, how did that happen? Time just seems to be disappearing, it's lucky I have this thread so I can check up on where I am!

I'm actually feeling quite chilled about the whole ttc thing now which can only be a good thing.

MissFlick - I understand hearing someone else moan about pregnancy symptoms can be irritating, but at the same time I want to reserve the right to moan about morning sickness etc should I become pregnant which means not getting annoyed at other people moaning. And however difficult it is for me, I don't want my friends to exclude me from their pregnancy. For me, someone making sure they didn't mention pregnancy stuff to me would serve as a greater reminder of my problems than someone who acted normally around me if that makes sense.

raspberrytipple · 29/10/2010 13:18

Hello ladies,

I am still at home sick, feeling very sorry for myself. My cold hasn't really lifted but has moved onto my lungs also so am now on antibiotics which I hope will clear up that and my ear infection. I am nearly completely deaf and my right ear has bells ringing in it. Bloody miserable.

Right, this is probably going to be a mamouth post again but here goes, I am so upset.

We live in a rented house so whenever anything needs doing the landlord arranges for it to be done via the handy man. So, the front door need painting cos its all flaked away at the front. I rang the handyman three days ago and I gave him permission to collect the keys from the letting agent to do the job and we agreed he would come either NEXT Wednesday or Thursday. I'm sure you can see where this is going. Either way I asked him to ring in advance just to check it was ok. This is standard for rented property I'm sure.

So, this morning at 10.30 a.m. I am naked, sprawled out on the bed having had hot/cold flushes and hear someone moving around downstairs, I came round a bit and thought shit it's someone on the landing, I shouted out 'hello', dickhead thing to do but felt to ill to jump out of bed, terrified this voice comes back 'oh, hello.... I've come to do your door' (he was actually downstairs not on the landing) to which I replied 'you said next week' and he said 'yeah but I had a job canceled so may as well do it now'.

I was just so shocked I heard him go out through the front door and I couldn't bear to go down stairs to tell him what I f**king thought of him, so lay there listening to him banging around doing the door. I got myself in a right state and had to ring a very peeved DP to come home from work to calm me down, I nearly had a serious panic attack and was practically at the point of puking over the side of the bed by the time DP got home. Handy man was also gone by the time DP arrived.

DP is going to ring the landlords and make a complaint tomorrow. Seriously, that's not on is it? He may have knocked beforehand but I didn't hear as I was asleep. I don't know if he came onto the landing and saw me? He didn't have our permission to let himself into the house this week, I'm sure that can't be right, regardless of when he knocked. I know he is harmless and he was just to stupid to think through what he did but honestly, i am so freaked out. I don't even want to go back to bed now in case he returns to do something else. What if he did come to the top of the stairs, looked in and then went back down and thought 'shit' I'm going to have to say something? I am mortified and now a bit scared of the fact that someone else has access to my house. Its the first time I have ever been freaked out by living in rented. :-(

Toriajayne · 29/10/2010 13:18

Slow I can definitely recommend Reflexology, I'm pretty open to alternative therapies as it is but even my super skeptical OH has commented on the differences I'm experiencing :)

Flick Rant away, as I said the other day OH's best friend's wife is doing much the same atm. Think we're definitely in need of some good strong cocktails!

HH, I now have this image of you sitting up in bed every morning and fondling your boobs wih a look of concentration on your face!

Garden My Reflexologist lent me a book about it, one of the ones she used when she was training, and it has a little section on fertility as well as applications throughout pregnancy and the menopause, very interesting. Also have testimonials from a few friends, including one who had been trying for six years, had a couple of sessions, got wasted in Vegas and now has a three year old :) If nothing else, as Cavey said, it's a great way to relax for an hour, which can only be a good thing!

We're off to scout camp this evening so will probably not be back as I promised to spend today cleaning and packing (have been somewhat slatternly in my wifely duties of late) I also need to sort my Hallowe'en costume out as things keep disappearing into Narnia when we put them in the wardrobe.

Have a good weekend ladies!

gardenpixie · 29/10/2010 13:43

Raspberry that's awful. Are you OK? I too would be totally freaked out. It's a real invasion of your private space; and you / DP should make a complaint - if he said next Wednesday / Thurs then that's when he should come, unless he calls you first to rearrange. Just because he has has a job cancelled so needs to fill a hole in his diary, it doesn't mean your privacy can be ignored. Horrid and not at all what you need when you are poorly.

Hope you feel better and that someone manages to bollock the rubbish handyman on your behalf. [hsad] [hangry]

Florin · 29/10/2010 15:10

miss flick know how you feel about friend complaining about sickness . I find it so hard when that happens feel like shouting at them I would do anything to swap with you. I have told dh though that when I am pregnant and moaning about it he has to remind me how much we tried to get pregnant and how much I wanted it.
raspberry sorry to hear about man just walking into your house particularly when you feel poorly it must have been a real shock

Whoever updated stats can I be changed to
Cycle 8 cd 3 (if it's done today or cd 4 if tomorrow) -thank you! It would be impossible to do on the iPhone I think!
Another friend has announced their pregnancy on facebook which has really upset me. Trying to pull myself out of a mood as out for drink tonight. Large quantities of alcohol needed I think!

Here you go Florin sorry ERTD got to you. Have updated the list and I'm also passing over a selection of cocktails with fizz chasers. I hope that helps! xx

MissFlick · 29/10/2010 15:53

raspberry sorry that you are still feeling rough and also so sorry about the experience that you had today Shock. Please make sure that you do complain as that is 100% not on. I am sure that the guy would not have seen you as if he was fixing the front door he would have hopefully have just stayed downstairs. Big hugs honey xxxx

florin am pleased your ERTD arrived in the end- have you had any of your tests yet or booked in for them?

Enjoy the camp toria! Hope you got everything sorted today- I also have a case of the Narnias in my wardrobe! Wink

garden I think your brain is tricking you by preparing you for failure this month so when you get a BFP it will be a big, unexpected suprise and you won't be mentalling away like me. Definitely try reflexology! I think you'll love it.

Hope your friend didn't cancel on you HH :)

womanly sorry the Clomid is making you feel a bit blue. You are such a positive person though that I am sure you will be back to your usual self once you have finished the course- great tip to take the tablets at night.

Thanks girls for all of your comments on sicky pregnant friend! I think I will try your tactic garden of being positive and saying ' Well, it's a good sign that the pregnancy is going well' Will probably drive her mad but oh well. She is a very sicky person anyway- car sick, boat sick etc so it is to be expected that she is suffering now- am just going to try and forget it.

Mr. F has his sperm analysis tomorrow so that means getting up relatively early and a mad dash to get the sample to the clinic- the joys of TTC eh?!

Hi Flicksta! I too am giving up doing threads - I've done three in my life and all have been notable for their unluckiness!

slowshow · 29/10/2010 16:40

Oh raspberry don't get me started on the liberties landlords/agents take when you're renting. It wouldn't have been much to ask for him to ring your doorbell before letting himself in, would it?

I remember one day, I had a day off work and was going to spend the day spring cleaning the flat. But I'm an awful procrastinator and by about 2pm the place looked like a bomb had hit it. Next thing I know, I can hear a key in the door Shock. I open it, and find the landlord and a bunch of prospective buyers - turns out he was hoping to sell the flats! He spluttered a bit saying "I left you a message!" No he hadn't! He was just assuming the Mr and I would be out at work. Well, it obviously blew up in his face - the flat couldn't have looked worse, and he looked like an arsehole for trying to show people around without our permission. Then, about a year later, when we'd given notice to move out, the agents let themselves in for a viewing without permission (we knew someone had been in because the blind in the living room was up instead of down). We had our breakfast things all over the place, I had jewellery left on the coffee table, you name it Angry

We own our new place, and although that's been a different sort of nightmare (you don't want to know what we've had to contend with in the first year, seriously) I can at least be confident that no one else has a set of keys.

Well, I think I'm feeling even worse today! My symptoms were mainly respiratory but today my sinuses want in on the action. I have at least given up charting this month as my temps went through the roof right around ovulation - there's no way of knowing when I ov'd this month. Irrelevant really, as the chances of conception are very small indeed.

Although I might need a tiny slap with a wet fish this afternoon, as my boobs felt a bit sore and I wondered whether that was significant - at 1-2dpo Grin

gardenpixie · 29/10/2010 17:50

Sorry you're feeling worse Slow that sounds miserable. However, and just to be clear, slapping with wet fish is only appropriate if you are symptom spotting before ovulation. Any symptom spotting after that is entirely allowed ... even at 1DPO!

Take care and keep warm xxx

LankyLegs · 29/10/2010 20:08

Hello gals,

How are we all?

Ok - I keep saying this ? but the frolickers luck has to turn soon right?!

Firstly just wanted to say thank you all for all your messages ? am starting to feel a bit normal after the hycosy (or lack of ) experience. Felt like shit for 2 days - like someone had beaten me up inside. Womanly you are very wise and your message made me feel a million times better ? thank you. I think the body s so complex it?s hard to know whats what.

Flick my sweets hope you are ok ? perfectly normal to feel like that ? my sister does the same (she seems to get pregnant by looking at her husband) and I know they don?t mean to do it but they should really be more considerate ? esp when she knows you are TTC. Also ? sorry about the BFN ? any news of ERTD or are you testing soon. I HATE rubbish cycles. Also ? good luck with your DH?s sperm test! Lots of hugs xxx

Garden how are you chica ? is this round of clomid going ok? I see you are now onto shagathon phase- brilliant! Hope you have been conserving your energy for it!
Slow so sorry your 30th birthday was spent being ill ? I hope you feel better and are doing something fun to make up for it xx
Cavey sounds like the reflexology was interesting ? how are you feeling now about it? I think its a good idea giving it some time to work before you have another session. Really hope your ERTD makes an appearance soon xxx

Highheels - day 71 ? you poor thing. I would get on the phone to then clinic hun. Look forward to hearing news from that.
Rasberry that is awful ? you should complain girl. I hate how landlords always seem to have the upper hand even though you are paying theirn mortgage. I hope that you are feeling better now ? you cold/flu sounds dreadful xx

Florin enjoy the drink hun ? I think it?s the best way to go (not that I am condoning drinking too much) when you hear of a close friend getting pregnant ? it?s like a kick in the guts.

womanly hope that everything goes ok with the SIL ? she sounds rubbish. How is clomid going hun?

Truff did you get Take That tickets? I presume you were buying them?

Waves to lovely toria , Tomboy and josie - hope you are having a nice break btw.

And where is kaloki - hope you are enjoying Halloween!

Don?t get me started on periods and coming off the pill. My skin has been the shitest ever!! No seriously ? I look 13 with zits everywhere. I just went into SpaceNK on the way home and ended up spending £120 on skincare ? I am a mug yes, but I feel so awful at the moment I thought a decent face mask, some nice new foundation and a gorgeous new body scrub is just what a girl needs to pamper herself. Anyway ? so that is what I am doing this evening while DH is in the pub. Am quite enjoying a night in on my own ? work is stressful and doesn?t look like it?s going to get any easier. The only reason I don?t quit is because it?s going to pay for all the renovations in the new house! Means to an end.....

Ladies ? am turning 31 the week after next ? I really thought I would be pregnant this birthday... but will have to focus on copious amounts of bubbles to help me forget.

Have good weekends all ? we are going antiques hunting tomorrow for some nice pieces for the house and then out for dinner. Hope everyone enjoys their weekends too! xxx

Florin · 30/10/2010 09:22

garden thanks for updating the list for me :-)
flick yes had my blood tests so now just waiting on docs appointment which is in 2 weeks time. I decided to wait for a super early one so it is going to be at 7:15 in the morning but does mean not missing work. I figure I might need other appointments which I will need time off for and don't want to take the piss too much.
I had the best night out lots of wine was consumed and then me and another girl from work talked about babies all night she has one already and after 2 bottles of wine we both admitted to be ttc and both struggling it was so nice to chat with someone about it face to face. Should be interesting if we both get bfp at the same time as we are only an office of 6 so it would mean a third of the work force would be pregnant!

raspberrytipple · 30/10/2010 13:19

Well good morning ladies. I had a really good nights sleep last night and I think a days worth of antibiotics are kicking in so feeling quite a bit better today chest wise. Ears wise not so good, still deaf!!

I have recovered almost from my shock of someone arriving in my house un-announced. I rang the letting agency and they were very sympathetic and said they would tell him to ring and apologise and it was not protocol etc. Handy man rang 20 mins later but I couldn't face talking to him so I ignored the phone.

Florin glad you had a good night out on the wine. Hope your head isn't too sore! It's always nice to confide in someone, especially as you then find out most people have been through the same thing. I've told a few people mainly because I am a very open person so I always end up saying something I shouldn't and leave people wondering. I like people that I would turn to for support to know these things, it does help I think.

Lanky glad you are starting to feel better after your awful experience. I find I'm a bit of a mess after something like a smear, its horrible so can't imagine how you must have been feeling you poor thing Sad

slow we have had similar experiences to yours with landlords just arriving unannounced and coming in but luckily that once we had just returned from holiday and were unpacking our suitcase and to be fair they had asked the letting agency to advise us they would be calling in, which they did but only two days before by leaving a message on our phone (they were asked by the landlords three weeks before to send us a letter and didn't cos they are bl**dy useless. gggrrrrr, it's made me want to get my bum in gear and get our own place. Thank you for mybirth.tv - I am totally hooked!!!

flick sorry to hear your sicky friend is being a bit inconsiderate with her comments. It's probably just her excitement at being pg that's making her talk about it or moan, morning sickness is such a massive part of being up the duff in the early stages she probably is enjoying having it and being able to moan about it iyswim. Bear with her, I'm sure she'll calm down and if she doesn't maybe drop a subtle reminder that you haven't yet experienced it and she might quieten down. Hope all went well with the sperm analysis xx

Toria hope scout camp is good. You sound the same as me with slacking on the wifey role every now and then. I need to kick myself up the arse sometimes, I really am such a lazy cowbag.

Kartasan glad you are feeling chilled out - deffo the best way to be. I may take a leaf out of your book and chill until christmas now. whether it happens or not is another thing, I can but try though!!

Garden has your shaggathon started yet? DP has been most put off by my being ill the last week. I have looked especially rough so I offered to do it with the lights off and he was like 'um, but you're still wheezing like a sixty year old, 50 a day ciggie habit man'. Nice, no wonder he's not too interested so I am very jealous that you are getting underway! I know you said you were feeling negative for this cycle but push that feeling to the back of your mind and just enjoy loads of SWI!!!

highheels caterpillar is way scary and I always worry about my bum but practice makes perfect an all that. We don't do routines as part of the lesson, she does separate routine classes which I go to sometimes, 30 minutes and I'm done in, its really hard to keep going. It's nice though cos we dont have to learn a routine cos she wants us to freestyle and develop our own style so she just shouts out random moves and we put our own slant on it, its good fun but I always feel a bit odd and awkward to start with until I warm up!

Hello to all else ((waves)).

I am now on CD twentysomething. I am not sure when I ovulated, according to ov calculators it would have been Monday just gone. I am getting slightly odd stitchy pains and very mild cramps and pains in my boobs. Probably just AF coming on because I dont think for one second we BD at the right times this month, unless DP has super spunk! I was all set to have a few drinks tonight but now being on antibiotics I can't really Sad. Nevermind, AF is due next weekend when we have a night out planned so will make up for it then!

Hope everyone has a nice weekend. xx

happy belated birthday slowshow. I had mine a couple days ago... right when I ovulated (so hopefully I've got a nice little present coming:) did they manage to sell the table?

missflick you sound like a very good friend!! Impressed you have kept your cool so far. I think what you wrote would be perfect to say!

HRH does reflexology involve pins (like acupuncture)? I am thinking about trying it but can't get past the needles...

raspberry sorry to hear you think you didn't SWI at the right times... but you never know until AF comes.

Sorry to everyone else I missed!! All i know is that there should be lots of BFPs soon!! Still a week until I can test, no symptoms so far!

Very quickly popping in to say hello and hope everyone's enjoying their weekend. Did manage to see my friend yesterday and ended up sat up till 2.45 am drinking wine and watching rubbish so not feeling my best today Confused Was meant to be going out for halloween tonight but to be perfectly honest I can't be bothered! It's going to be mostly full of 18-25 year olds and I'm unlikely to know more than a handful of people, plus the idea of a bubble bath and then some homemade pizza sounds much more appealing [hgrin] I must be getting old!

No news still, have been ravenously hungry for the past 2 days (ate 4 pancakes, 2 eggs and 5 rashers of bacon for breakfast!) and so have convinced myself that this is a sign, despite the fact that I have no idea where I am in my cycle or if I have even ovulated (although I did have some EWCM 2 weeks ago, temperatures were not completely convincing and then I stopped taking them so no clue!). I definitely need a slap I think!

Need to go and help DP, he's trying to hook up the radiator in the kitchen and has managed to get water everywhere! Apologies for the me me post, back later in the weekend to catch up properly.

Well girls it seems our luck is changing, I just got a BFP!

I am shaking like a leaf, in complete shock and feeling very guilty about all the wine consumption this week, and terrified :o

HRHCavey · 30/10/2010 20:00

highheels!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been over on the Strictly thread and just popped by to check in!

I'm so happy for you, I actually squealed when I read your post!

Don't beat yourself up over the wine, we've all said before that the embryo will not absorb from you until the placenta is formed and that doesn't happen till about 6-8 weeks.

The main thing is you know now! I'll ask my standard question, how did Mr HH take the news?

raspberrytipple · 30/10/2010 20:01

if this was facebook I would be LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE LIKE you lucky girl!!! Very very happy for you. You have kick started the BFPs for this month....... Grin
