garden I am going to try to get in for a scan tomorrow - day 2 so that I can start Clomid. This time though I am resolved to throw a fit if they do not work as a team - I am not sure I can go through another month because the doc and scanners don't see eye to eye.

Florin · 24/10/2010 14:28

Hello ladies. How is everybody? There seems to be an extreme shortage of bfp recently. Surely by the law of averages one of us must be due a bfp soon! Sorry to hear so many people having being feeling fed up sending huge pornstar cocktails to everyone sprinkled with sparkly baby dust! I have been up and down about the whole ttc thing recently. When I had scan I felt more relaxed as now doctors looking into it and knowing I hadn't ovulated meant we didn't have to worry about swi on the right days etc and there was no question about am I or am I not pregnant which was quite liberating. Now though ERTD is late and i just want it to arrive so I can do my day 1-7 blood test. As she couldn't see me ovulating on day 14 I don't see how I could possibly be pregnant so will just have to wait it out which is making me feel very fed up with the whole process.
Have been using the cd from miss flick which I think has helped a bit just to help me relax and give me some me time.

MissFlick · 24/10/2010 15:25

Hi florin, nice to see you back! Annoying about your ERTD being late but as your cycle is usually regular is there any chance you could be pregnant? Maybe you had ovulated before she scanned you? Do you think you should POAS just to rule it out even if you don't think it is possible? Glad the CD has helped :)

womanly I'm sorry that FERTD has officially arrived but am pleased that you have a plan and that you are going to fight for what you want with the doctors and the scanners. Hope it goes well for you tomorrow, will be thinking of you.

Hope you're all having lovely and relaxing Sunday's am off to bed now so will see you in the morning.

OP posts:
TomboyWife · 24/10/2010 17:01

Florin if you know you didn't ovulate, it's not particularly surprising that your cycle is longer than usual this month. Not that that makes waiting for it to end any less annoying.

womanly good luck with your scan!

I had a bit of cramping this morning, but still no sign of ERTD and my boobs were slightly sore yesterday and slightly sorer than that this morning. Either I'm due an insanely late BFP or I'll have to start tacking "Lost Cycle" posters to lamp posts.

gardenpixie · 24/10/2010 19:32

Tomboy increasingly sorer boobs sounds like a really good sign, fingers crossed you just have a shy bean who doesn't want to announce his / her presence yet! We ARE due a BFP so let's hope the baby dust is falling on you by the bucketload

Florin lovely to see you! Sorry you are having such confusion ... all I can say is that on my first clomid cycle, my consultant said I wouldn't ovulate as there wasn't a lead follicle at CD14 but then she thought my odd half a line on the HPT was a positive that didn't hang around for very long. So I must have ovulated. I am not sure the medical community has as clear an understanding of odd cycles as they think they have Confused

Womanly ERTD's arrival is great news! Hurrah! Best of luck with the scan and you are totally right to be super strident with them - as you said, you can't miss out on another cycle simply because they can't be a team. I will be sending you strident vibes tomorrow! I am going to start taking clomid tomorrow (on my CD3) so it looks like we might be clomid-synchronised again Grin

Right, am off for some dinner and to watch Sunday night Catherine Cookson! See you all tomorrow

xxx

Morning everyone. Dont you just hate cold, dark Monday mornings?!

Thanks for the heads up re Hermya MissFlick, I shall pop over to the Grads thread to check in.

Hope you had a good birthday cookie and nice to see you again Florin.
Keeping everything crossed for you Tomboy

Nothing to report in my world, but positive frame of mind is being maintained, for now! I've got so much going on at the moment that I can't worry too much about just one thing, so I'm going to concentrate on my degree and salsa class for the moment and just let my body right itself in its own good time. Of course my positive thinking may not last very long, so we'll wait and see!

Happy Monday everyone!

Toriajayne · 25/10/2010 08:53

Morning ladies! I'll catch up properly later, just on my way to work so for now a bit of a mememe post.

Weekend away was lovely, in it's way, did find out that one of my friends has found a lump in her breast and another was diagnosed with skin cancer in August, which sucked, but both seem to be quite low risk according to their respective medical teams. Did have some fun with one of my bridesmaids who cannot not complain and spent the weekend trying to undermine plans and get her own way she also repeatedly asks me about us TTC, usually in public, but as most people have indirectly asked us by now that's not as irritating as it once was. But we're learning to deal with her!

In other news, I'm exhaused, thirsty, my boobs are most definitely sore now and have been for a few days (not usual ERTD symptom for me), I cannot concentrate on anything (on the bus the other night I could have sworn I was dreaming/hallucinating) and I had a tiny bit of spotting yesterday. I took on sat as we were going out which was negative, but it's still early so I'm struggling not to let myself get excited. If it's a false alarm I will be mightily embarrassed with myself hehehe.

Have a nice Monday everyone, I'll come back and speak nicely later!

MissFlick · 25/10/2010 09:09

Shock toria those symptoms sound amazing! Trying not to get too excited for you either but it sounds like you're onto a winner here... come back soon and tell us when you will POAS again! Sorry about your poorly friend's but very glad that they are seen as low risk. Lots of people have very harmless lumps in their boobs so hopefully your friend's is one of those.

Loving your positive attitude cavey [hsmile] think I could do with taking a leaf out of your book. You are one busy lady so you have lots to keep your mind off your ERTD.

Am just hanging around at work until my pilates class at 4.45 and then am off home to cook a chickpea and chilli curry It's day one again of my diet so I am really trying to be good!

In not so impressive behaviour... I have 6 internet cheapies left- that is enough for one POAS a day from tomorrow until Saturday when i think (as much as I can be sure with my strange body) that I will be 14DPO. Does anyone else think that peeing on an internet cheapie doesn't count?! My reasoning is that I had better use them up so that they are not burning a hole in my drawer for next month when I will know if/when I have ovulated due to the follicle tracking and HCG injection I will be having . Terrible I know but someone humour me [hgrin]

OP posts:
gardenpixie · 25/10/2010 10:18

Morning all

MissFlick POinternetcheapyS does not count and you are therefore free to wee with impunity! Seriously though, if you want to POAS and you have them to hand, and they don't cost too much then why not? Obviously with the huge caveat that a BFN might be totally inaccurate.

We are due a BFP soon ladies so I think all POAS action is to be encouraged!

I suspect I will have to have a higher dose of hcg this cycle (if I have any follicles ready to pop) because of the odd spotting / bleeding last cycle and apparently you have to wait one day for every 100micogram of hcg to clear your system - given I had 1000 migr last time round, that'll mean I'll probably have to have 1500 this time round so won't be able to POAS until a whopping 15DPO!!! Ergh!

Womanly I hope your scan goes well, I am keeping my fingers crossed and my be-assertive-with-drs transmitters engaged so there is lots of stridency heading your way from the garden household! Hope you get your clomid today xxx

HRHCavey you are an inspiration! You fit so much into your week, it's amazing. I'm struggling with doing a teeny bit of working from home and the laundry [hblush]

Toria I am sorry to hear about your friends but pleased they are low risk. Very exciting about your symptoms - I really hope you are an October BFP!

MissFlick · 25/10/2010 12:33

Thanks for the go ahead garden [hgrin] even Mr.F thinks I should use them up! Although I think he is so keen as if I get BFP on Saturday or before that means he won't have to do his business in a pot Grin as I am taking his swimmers off to be tested on Saturday morning- he he! Rubbish to the 15DPO but yay to the higher dose of HCG doing it's thing. What day do you have to go in for your first scan?

Loving you feeling the BFP in your bones... I think I can hear one calling out to the Frolickers too! This will be our BFP week :)

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 25/10/2010 12:52

Morning everyone

DH and I have decided to hold off TTC for a while as we really need to save up a lot more money before I could afford to go off on maternity leave, but somehow doubt it'll happen that way. Do you think if I convince myself I don't want to get pg I might accidentally fall pg in a reverse psychology kind of way [hhmm] [hgrin]

Sorry for all the BFNs and horrible things going on, hope we get a BFP soon.

highheelsandequations · 25/10/2010 13:08

MissFlick I am very impressed with both the pilates and the cooking! Internet cheapies definitely don't count [hgrin] think I've been averaging about 2 per week since CD45, just in case...

gardenpixie · 25/10/2010 13:12

MissFlick I am chuckling at MrFlick being super keen on a BFP for you so he doesn't have to produce any swimmers for inspection! I need to book a scan in for next Friday (which will be CD14) to see if there is any follicular activity going on. Until then all I can do is take it easy and pamper myself a bit (to avoid stress hormones which apparently are bad for egg production)!

Oh, and our once-a-day-for-most-of-it-but-twice-a-day-around-ovulation shaggathon begins in six days... Mr G is very excited about it!

Josie the fact that you have even put doubts about TTCing down in writing means that you will be pg in the next few days. I think you won't even have to wait until ovulation - it'll be spontaneous! Seriously though I hope you are OK? The money thing is tough isn't it? I'm self-employed so no maternity pay for me and I earn more than MrG so it's going to be a bit of a shock to the system if i ever do get bloody when I fall pg. How are you feeling about taking some time off TTC?

gardenpixie · 25/10/2010 13:13

Afternoon HH how are you doing? Hope your hangover has subsided! Grin

slowshow · 25/10/2010 13:42

There's a lot to be said for reverse psychology Josie. I keep telling myself that if I don't get pregnant this cycle it won't be such a bad thing, because I have quite a lot on in December and could do without being newly pregnant and feeling ill.

Of course, there's a tiny voice in the back of my head thinking I'm BOUND to get pregnant now, and feeling quite pleased about it Grin

Truffkin · 25/10/2010 14:26

Hi Frolickers, how did Monday come around so quickly again? We had a really chilled weekend, did practically nothing except eat, sleep and watch crap TV - bliss!

I POAS yesterday and BFN, convinced myself it was too early to be accurate (13DPO) and then FCBWERTD arrived this morning. I'm feeling particularly sorry for myself this month, I think a mixture of charting so knowing all the timings were right this month plus SIL's pg announcement and knowing how easy it has been for them. I'm feeling very self indulgent so if you can all just leave me to snivel in the corner for a few days, I'm sure that will sort me out.

I'm trying to count all the silver linings and so far have come up with the following. 1) I can get very drunk at family party in Ireland next month, 2) will not have to share pg announcement time with SIL who has just found out she is pg for 3rd time 'without actively trying', 3) if I fall pg next month the baybee would be due on our 4th wedding anniversary 4) another month of enjoyable sex with no fear of pg symptoms getting in the way of my libido, 5) ERTD is being kind and hasn't brought any nasty side effects with it so far. I think that's a decent list!

Josie how are you feeling about taking a break? Your post sounds quite upbeat but these things can be difficult. I know we've talked about what we would do financially in the longer term as I have fairly generous maternity pay from work but am not sure I would want to continue in such a high pressure role once baybees come along. Am agreeing with Garden that you will clearly fall pregnant in some sort of ironic instant-conception style way now you've said that!

HRH nice work with the positive thinking, can you chuck some good vibes my way?

Garden good luck for the marathon again, make sure you feed Mr G lots of carbs for energy {grin}

Flick totally get where Mr F is coming from! I think we may need another SA our end as my hyco and lap n dye were ok, plus I've been charting so know I'm ovulating and that we timed SWI perfectly this month. (have suspected in previous months but not had the data to back it up). Mr T hates it (I understand, it feels a bit 'grubbier' than the tests I've had, which are more medical if you know what I mean) but needs must I suppose.

Looking forward to a BFP on this thread soon, we need to keep up some sort of momentum so I can take advantage of the tail wind next month!

Florin · 25/10/2010 14:51

truffkin sorry to here that ertd got you, it's always so disappointing isn't it. Like to see you are trying to see the positives though! You could also add that you can eat whatever food you like i.e. Stinky cheese, pate, shellfish etc.
Ertd still hasn't turned up, wish it would just hurry up so I could get on with tests. If I get to next weekend I will test although think my chances of being pregnant are about 1 in a billion!
Wishing everybody bfp's soon!

highheelsandequations · 25/10/2010 15:03

My hangover has subsided garden, thanks for the TLC yesterday :o unfortunately although the pain has gone, I'm still eating everything in sight (hangover symptom of mine!) and dreading not fitting into my work clothes next Monday if I carry on like this!

Sorry about arrival of BFCBFERTD truffkin, have a slice of my lemon drizzle cake :)

Hope everyone else is enjoying their Mondays, I'm off to check on my Christmas cake that is merrily cooking away but will hopefully be back later for a catch up.

highheelsandequations · 25/10/2010 15:04

PS: MissFlick hope your first day back hasn't been too horrendous, sorry you only have a week off, that's rubbish!

womanlytales · 25/10/2010 16:44

Whoa long catch up even more tough when I really should be listening in to this meeting I am dialled in for - LOL...
BUT couldn't wait to share and learn how you girls are doing.
missflick Test away hon -- and everything crossed for a bfp...yes, yes, yes :)
Truffkin Sorry about ERTD showing up... here's a large cocktail.
highheels - hope you get a fast resolution -- poor you.
florin - I am with you - and hope ERTD arrives quickly - i spent the month waiting half hoping my body would ovulate on its own and the other half knowing that I will need some medication!
garden We're clomid twins again Went for the scan - they scheduled me for the afternoon..so went in twice.. but was very glad that I got to see someone. Ovaries looking normal and healthy so I am on for Clomid and a CD9 scan with potential HCG shot. While it took two trips and 15 mins in all to get the scan done, it took me 50 minutes to receive my clomid the efficiency rates at the pharmacy is really abysmal. Glad you're having great skin and sleep -- Am glad to get going too though am always hesitant about taking clomid..but naturally I am just not ovulating for some bizarre reason. :)

Baby dust to all those testing this week - really wish for a few more bfps before we usher November in.

womanlytales · 25/10/2010 16:49

oh and big wave to lanky - Hope you're doing well and not too busy.
hh love that you're taking salsa classes -- it's those shoes that I really covet after and of course the ability to stand up in a pair that high :)

Toriajayne · 25/10/2010 17:26

Slow I bought something for the nursery, as it will be, a while back at work, it was going out of stock, I had to! [hblush]

Cookie Thanks for the cake! Fingers crossed for your gynae appt.

Cavey You sound very positive and zen-like, which can only be good {hsmile]

Flick POinternetcheapieS most defnitely does not count. I counted mine last night and have 12, it would be rude not to use them!

Josie I am almost certain you are, even as we speak, now pregnant, simply because you have decided to wait. That method worked for at least three of my friends!

Truff Sorry about FERTD. Agree with Florin about eating all the bad foods [hsmile]

HH Josie and Flick we were staying with friends in their flat behind Haymarket, we don't get to do hotels in Edinburgh hehehe. We didn't go to the zoo this time, but went about a year ago, just before we moved away so have seen most of their new stuff, including the Bonobo trail which a friend of mine worked on. Didn't drink many cocktails as I was trying to be good, but did go to the Roseleaf on The Shore where they have a Mad Hatter theme and serve you cocktails in teapots! And very nice they were too. Also ate everything I'm not supposed to eat and sampled their homemade lemonades and presses. Fabulous.

TomboyWife · 25/10/2010 18:34

Evening ladies!

Toria that all sounds incredibly promising!

Truff sorry about BFN and ERTD. Sad

For my part, I tried to tempt fate today by buying a pair of jeans, but fate would not be tempted. All my jeans had worn down to ribbons, I bought a pair a few weeks ago that I've decided I really like, so I went back today to get a second pair. But 'twas not to be. No sign of them in the shop. I figured if I started stocking up on non-maternity clothes that would be (like Josie deciding to take a break from TTC) a sure way to assure I'm pg. But maybe not finding what I was after is nature's way of saying, "Don't bother, you'll be growing out of them in a few months"? Maybe? Hmm

Still no ERTD, and I'm getting sorry, TMI coming but I'm really curious if anyone knows about this just stupid amounts of CM. More than I've ever had before. Is that a pg symptom?

TomboyWife · 25/10/2010 18:46

Well, if nature was sending me a sign, I'm ignoring it. Just tempted fate online. Three cheers for internet shopping! [hgrin]
