aries, that's it- I do feel a bit like I've lost my friend! I hadn't thought of it that way before- I think that's the bit I'm most sad about actually, we're not the same anymore.

Mr. F has gone to play tennis and I am lying here with a plate of cheese and last night's appretice Grin things are looking up- promise to post properly soon and not be so self centred and woe is me xx

Flick please try not to apologise for posting the way you are. We all need times like this when we can say what we like and not be judged (like we could be in RL). Indulge yourself for a while, there's no shame in it.

MissFlick · 14/10/2010 11:30

Thanks truff :) xx

Sorry if I seemed insensitive MissFlick. Please don't apologise - where else can you go for support over matters like this. People who aren't TTC just don't understand so please rant on here as much as you need to help yourself deal with your feelings. Cheese and apprentice sounds good

womanlytales · 14/10/2010 12:21

Dear missflick - BIG HUG! I know it is not easy learning what you did today Our emotions are really not explain-able. I know you will gain a lot of comfort from Mr.Flick's email - and know that all he said is all true. This is really your journey with him and don't you dare drag anyone else into it - even if it is your best friend :) The other expression that comes to mind is 'roll with the punches' - - I mean really, this is a dear friend and the both of you were going through this ttc trauma together one of you was bound to get pregnant first and the other was bound to be upset... so roll with the punches. Treat yourself extra nicely (and no crying is not a treat) for at least a week so that you can come to terms with you....
Last but not least you and Mr.Flick are certainly on the path to that bfp...as early as next week -- I love what aries said - chin up chicken :) Big hug again.

NOTE: I get upset when I see anyone on the street who is pregnant and in the most diabolical interpretation of these emotions COMPETE with all of my friends (including those on this list Blush who are also trying...how do you explain this terrible attitude...except by allowing for it and then firmly drawing that circle around me and my DH and saying... this is special, it is between the two of us and nobody else can get in the middle with us.

gardenpixie · 14/10/2010 13:58

Hope you are feeling better MissFlick and managed to have a nice relaxing evening.

Womanly I know what you mean about being competitive and you are right, we just have to accept that we are allowed to feel all kind of things we'd rather not be feeling because it's just really hard and frustrating to be TTCing for ages.

Big waves, hugs, cups of tea, cake and gin (delete as appropriate) to everyone xxx

gardenpixie · 14/10/2010 14:07

Slowshow your conveyor belt idea is brilliant! It's really cheered me up! Grin

kurlyvoice · 14/10/2010 17:39

Hey girls,

Just wanted to let you know that I had my scan today and all was well with the munchkin who waved for the camera (on my profile page). So that gives hope to all of you with dodgy cycles - given my new EDD, there can't have been more than a week between my ridiculously long period finishing and us conceiving, given that I am already 13+5. And with PCOS. And a silly uterine cyst (which seems to have disappeared!).

Hope you're all well - sprinkling lots of babydust for some October BFPs to get you into that Christmas Club!

JosieSmith1 · 14/10/2010 17:47

Glad to hear all is well Kurly! Thanks for the baby dust, will grab some for myself Grin

HRHCavey · 14/10/2010 18:04

Kurly thanks for stopping by and letting us know how you're scan went.

Your photo looks fab! Thanks for sharing!

You do lots of hope for those of us on, what feels like, the neverending cycle!

I also noticed on your profile that you are based not too far from me - I'm in Suffolk! Don't worry I'm not going to start stalking you!

I saw PinkLady last night, as it was her birthday this week - she said she lurks from time to time so [waves]! She's still on the ttc wagon, just very busy!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 14/10/2010 18:06

Just quickly popping my head in inbetween SWI Grin DH loves this time of the month :)
Good luck to you all!

womanlytales · 14/10/2010 18:26

Thanks kurly - best of luck :) Will take a look at the pic tomorrow - have to rush out for some grocery shopping right away.

Truffkin · 14/10/2010 19:15

Kurly that scan picture is great, you can actually tell what it is! So pleased to hear things are going well for you, hope the rest of your pregnancy is as enjoyable.

IfAtFirst nice work, someone's got to do it hey Wink Keep your eyes on the prize (and Mr IfAt's happy face!)

I do get the competitive thing as well. My sister has a wonder DS who is 2 and he really is a perfect child. She and her DH decided to only have the one but my Mom mentioned on the phone last week that they are now talking about trying for another next year. She fell pg easily with him and I know it might not happen the same again but I really hope we can be first. I feel awful as she's my sister and I really should just have lovely thoughts about an addition to their lovely family (and she's not even pg or even TTCing yet Blush oh dear)

Right, I'm off now as we're travelling up to Birmingham tonight to stay with the outlaws so we are half way towards the wedding we are going to tomorrow. I didn't fancy a 4 hours drive in the morning as I'd hate to be late for someone's wedding. (It's nothing to do with getting there early to make the post of our 4-poster castle bedroom I promise!)

Hope everyone enjoys the weekend, it's DH's birthday on Sunday so with that and the wedding tomorrow I think ours will be fairly alcohol soaked. I'm not feeling guilty as even if this is our month implantation wouldn't be until at least Sunday....

highheelsandequations · 14/10/2010 19:38

kurly congratulations on the scan it's a great picture.

Flick hope you're feeling better after your cheese and the apprentice. I love cheese it makes everything better :)

No chance to catch up with everyone else. I am not feeling well at all this evening but going to pole (may not survive the full class but missed last week so need to at least make the effort) in a few minutes so can't stay. Let's see if hanging upside down in skimpy shorts will tempt ERTD to make a appearance ...

LankyLegs · 14/10/2010 20:03

Evening everyone,

Oh what a time we are having in the three follicles.....

Flick my dear ? I hope you feel better you poor thing. I think you have received some very sound advice here today and thats exactly why we are all here ? it really is not easy and its amazing when news like that can just knock you sideways without any warning. Good luck for tomorrow xx

Garden 5dpo today?! I hope the tests tomorrow are positive. I really do hope it is your month with the clomid and hcg shot. Fingers crossed chica! Xx

Truff hope the symptom spotting is going well too. Are you all recovered now my dear?

Zippys sweets how are you? Am totally sorry about your BFN ? have you had ant ERTD signs? Sending you massive amounts of vino and finest Belgium choccies I can find (hope they help) x

womanly so are you going to stick with temping? It really does help you feel more i control ? but agree that it isn?t for everyone. I hope you are well and thanks for your kind words ? you are such a sweetie.

alien hope that ofsted were not too off-putting ? must be a mare having them watch!

josie hope you enjoy temping too ? your temp sounds high ? but you do need to do it for a whole cycle to get the full picture.

Tomboy sorry about the job ? and it sounds like you won?t take the other one. Hope the hunting goes well ? it is hard work looking for jobs.

Florin have a fab weekend ? sounds like it will be laugh! Also hope its all ok telling your parents as well ? I can imagine that won?t be easy either.

Lovely picture kurly hope your pregnancy is going well and that you are enjoying it! And hello to Mrswajs too ? miss you guys over here and hope it?s all going well!

Waves to HRHCavey , Slow , Ifatfirst ,highheels , aries and everyone else Grin

I have been crazy at work and really not loving it ? the only thing that keeps me going is the fact that we should be getting our moving in date soon which means I have a valid excuse to take a bit of time off. It is shit and it sucks but I need to see the project through as being an independant consultant I can?t really dump the project in the middle of it.

To top it all off I started spotting today which means that ERTD is on its way. I just came home and got straight into bed to have a bit of a cry. I think it?s just the 1 year mark and felt a bit poignant. I wish I could take some of my own advice as well ? but it is not that easy!

Anyway ? am not going to go on about it and add more gloom ? but I totally get the whole Envy thing ? am sick to death of seeing pregnant women everywhere ? its sometimes like rubbing salt into an open wound.

TomboyWife · 14/10/2010 21:21

Evening ladies, and big hugs to Lanky and Flick. So sorry you're having a hard time and feeling down.

For my part, I've just tested and got a BFN. I guess I'm late again due to stress, though I'm really pretty sure I ov'ed this month. Oh well, at least I can drown my sorrows guilt-free now. Confused

Morning all,

Normal service resumed :) Feeling much brighter today after an evening of wallowing and blubbing. Have picked myself, dusted myself down and am going to roll with the punches like womanly said. Now the shock is over, I am feeling really happy for my friend and even managed to give her some flowers today and felt quite genuine excitement.

Thanks so much for yesterday- you all got me through it. Your messages of support were so incredible and I feel lucky to have you all :)

Just rushing off to a meeting and then off to my scan. Mr. F is taking me for dinner after so won't be back on until tomorrow probably but just wanted to let you know I was ok and to send hugs to lanky and luck to garden for the test today. Lots of luck for anyone testing soon too and sorry about your BFN Tomboy

Will catch up properly tomorrow- late for meeting now but Mnetting was more important Grin xxx

The female body is truly a mystery. Lots of baby dust to everyone and the very best to those looking to poas.

MissFlick · 15/10/2010 10:06

Hi lovelies,

Really quick update as am in the waiting room of the Gynae. Just had my scan and the cyst on left ovary was gone :) On right ovary was a dominant follicle of 22mm which she said could be released at anytime. I said would it definitely be released as I am so late in my cycle (day 34) she said not definitely as it is such a late ovulation... I said could she give me an injection of HCG to insure it popped and she said she would rather wait until next cycle for intervention so just to SWI for the next few days and wait and see if FERTD arrives.

So... Mr. F has a pot for a SA and if all is ok with him and my period does arrive she will give me clomid and track my cycle with regular scans before giving me a HCG shot when she spots a big enough follicle. It seems a little sudden but she thinks seeing as I have been off my pill for a year next month it is the right road to go down.

Best of luck alien with the testing

Catch up later xxx

JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 10:07

Fingers crossed Alien, congrats on the OFSTED!

Hope everyone is ok today?

Today is my day?.. ERTD due, no sign yet but there won?t be until pretty much the minute it arrives! If I?m lucky I might get a couple of hours notice. If I?m extra lucky it won?t arrive at all Grin. Will keep you all informed between trips to loo to check Blush

JosieSmith1 · 15/10/2010 10:19

Cross post MiccFlick, that sounds like you're really getting some answers, I'm really pleased for you!

I have decided to bite the bullet and am definitely getting my hair chopped!

slowshow · 15/10/2010 13:14

Aww Pixie I'm so glad my conveyor analogy made sense Grin I honestly need to take my own advice sometimes.

CD26 for me, and the ERTD is very imminent. I have a classic "my period's going to arrive tomorrow" headache. Someone pass me the Nurofen?

womanlytales · 15/10/2010 13:38

Flick - Fab news about the left ovary and the 22mm follicle - - All things crossed for you and DH and for ovulation to happen. :)
slow here's some nurofen and cookies.
Good luck to you too josie and love that you're getting a haircut -- I love scheduling those and the feeling after of healthy hair!!!! I asked DH just yesterday if I was due a trim and he very nicely avoided answering - LOL. Ok, message received. Looking forward to some office wear shopping this weekend :)
Have a good one ladies and catch you and hopefuly a couple of bfps next week.
