Just to make sure we all become members of 'The Christmas Club' I've put something in the wine.... Wink

Started spotting (very lightly) on Saturday - CD bloody 20 - which seems to suggest that my FERTD will be coming even earlier than usual this month. Feeling a bit hacked off, tbh, which is STUPID because this is only cycle 2 and we only had sex twice. Shouldn't have had any expectations really!

Truffkin · 11/10/2010 11:56

Lanky good to see you and great proactive approach with booking your own hycosy. I'm impressed.

Garden still keeping everything crossed for you this cycle. I have not read too much into the fertility books yet as I know all of the things I enjoy will be banned, so am holding off as long as I can Grin

Slow sorry ERTD seems to be making an early appearance. Mine arrived a week early last month with no prior warning and I was Angry about it for a few days. Still, as the girls said to me then at least it didn't get my hopes up by staying away longer than usual so I knew where I stood early on and could concentrate on the next cycle.

Glad you hear you're surviving Josie although you do seem to be in the wars recently. A radox bath should sort you out with the aching.

So I was expecting a temp rise this morning as I felt sure I had OVed yesterday but my temperature dropped Confused I now have no idea what is going on and at CD 16 I was hoping that I could count last month as a blip and my cycles would go back to a more normal (and predictable) length. Oh well, will just have to keep tracking to see what's going on.

Womanly nice to hear from you, what's happening in your world at the moment?

LankyLegs · 11/10/2010 12:55

Truff have you still got EW? Sometimes it can take a bit of time for your temp to shoot up a)it depends when in the day you ovulated b) other factors such as booze or sleepness nights can pay havoc with your temps. Why is it not straightforward I hear you cry?! Dunno dunno dunno. I would have a safety shag tonight to make sure you have it covered and fingers crossed it shoots up in the morning.

Slow sorry about ERTD - its always a bit of a slap in the face - but I hope you feel better - at least you can drink without guilt!

Womanly lovely to hear from you - how are things going? Are you taking clomid this cycle again?

I missed mumsnet! - But will prob go awol again as I have 3 full days of workshops and evenings out planned weds-fri this week. Trying to make sure that I am not going mental with thinking about when ERTD might arrive.

MissFlick · 11/10/2010 13:07

Hi there FF's,

Just quickly coming to the pub to say hi. I'm struggling with a cold at the min and trying to battle through until Friday when my half term begins.

Great to see you back lanky We missed you! Sorry to hear you weren't feeling great- hope it wasn't anything too nasty chick. Come back on Sat and let us know how you are. Sorry to hear that your thyroid level has not decreased enough but good news that it has gone down and that you are on a new dosage. Thanks for the wishes for my scan on Friday too xx

truff that is annoying Confused for you!

Hi womanly good to hear from you, how are you doing lovely?

Been reading the Strictly thread cave and feeling very proud of your knowledge Grin Sorry to hear that you are still feeling up and down- let us keep you company while your dh is away xx

Sorry to hear that you think ERTD is playing up slow

Shock at you falling off your horsey josie! Hope you're ok- second the idea of a bath chick

Good to hear about your stabby pains garden! Everything crossed for you honey xxx

Sorry for BFN alien

Sorry for all I have missed- brain won't take anything in!

Hope you're all having as good a Monday as is possible for a Monday- boo!

Truffkin · 11/10/2010 15:20

Thanks Lanky have received similar advice on another thread so will be definitely safety shagging tonight Grin Mr T will be pleased! I don't think it's really egg white today but definitely not gone completely so there is something going on in there!

Am keeping my fingers crossed for a higher temp tomorrow as it means we will have covered all of our bases and I can go completely mental with symptom spotting during my 2ww!

HRHCavey · 11/10/2010 15:24

MissFlick thanks for the kind words, you are all such a lovely bunch.

I may take up the offer of hanging round the bar a bit more for the next few weeks whilst DH is away on a tax payer funded holiday Wink

So did we all enjoy SCD at the weekend? I don't want to spoil it for anyone that hasn't already seen it, but I was surprised that X went, though I guess she/he doesn't have a big enough fan base these days.

well peeps, went to docs and he said that the swollen tummy, pains etc are probably ovulation later this cycle, he also said that you dont ovulate every cycle which i never knew! Sadly I was in so much pain so did SWI lol . oh well, I have now deleted my i phone app and am trying to forget about TTC for a while, but I shall log on here to see how you all are and chatter about things :0) no PMT signs so far still but hey ERTD will probably arrive soon lol

Hope you are all well, I am tad stressed as OFSTED called today and are coming to my school this week!!! arrrgggghhhh

highheelsandequations · 11/10/2010 17:21

Hi everyone, happy Mondays :) Going to try and catch up now as I have abs class and then pole tonight so busy busy later.

MissFlick I am also battling the cold whilst simultaneously counting down the days to half term on Friday, it cannot come quickly enough. Struggled into work this morning to be rewarded with a extra class to cover for my efforts giving me a six period day plus after school meeting Angry The walk on Saturday was lovely, I ended up with a glass of wine instead of a pint but that was lovely too :)

HRH sorry you're still on the neverending cycle and that you're going to be home alone. Hope you manage to enjoy some R&R whilst DH is away and feel free to joing us lot in the pub whenever you're lonely.

Truffkin my temps dipped on the day of ov last cycle so enjoy your safety shag! Glad your physio seems to be helping and you're not in so much pain.

Lanky good to see you back, sorry you've been feeling yuck, hope you're fully recovered and that work calms down a little.

Slow sorry about impending early arrival of FERTD.

Josie hope you're not too sore after your fall.

Toria good for you on the detox. I've been 8 weeks without caffeine now and am very impressed with myself. Really miss the odd cup of coffee though, especially as my acupuncturist told me to avoid decaf coffee as well.

Garden glad things are looking hopeful on ov-watch :)

Raspberry so sorry about arrival of FERTD (and the incovenient timing). Hope you're fully recoverd from your hangover. I didn't make pole last Thurs as was so shattered I didn't think I'd manage to hang on! Going tonight to make up for it though so hopefully will catch up with anything I've missed. Your tricks masterclass sounds good, keep me posted on anything cool you learn, I like hearing about other moves people have learnt.

alien oooh shiny new boots :)

kaloki I usually go to a halloween night but wondering if I'm starting to get too old. Would love to have a party but no time to plan!

Hi to everyone else, would love to send messages to all but realy have to run or I'll be late for class and get given extra sit ups! CD50 here and still no sign of FERTD (grr). POAS this morning just in case (50 seemed like a milestone), BFN, but knew it would be so not really :( or surprised. Enjoy your evenings.

womanlytales · 11/10/2010 17:42

hello to all you out there asking about me -- you're really the best group of gals :)
Am doing kinda ok. Am in the non-clomid cycle because they saw a cyst on Day 2 of this cycle and said no to clomid. They being the scan people who I learnt aren't really talking / teaming with my consultant to be making those decisions.. LOL
Met with my consultant - boy was that a low point the complete sod - as non communicative as ever - I actually left feeling sorry for HIM given he has to live with this - - Hanibal Lector restraining suit - - type personality!! DH was home and his answer was a round of spontaneous u know what Wink and that's really only the right response I figure... off late ..

My android phone app is convinced that I will ovulate this week - lol - so look forward to some more of u know what - - and come next cycle will be ready for another round of clomid that is the stars align between the scanning team and my consultant!

Consultant said since I've ovulated once on Clomid 50 - he won't increase the dosage and we'll have to give it six months of trying. DH and I are going to give it till Jan before we rethink on our options...

So will be lying low here and try to be busy and not let the ttc worry turn my hair grey!

Oh and have been building a list of ways I can help my liver...in the hope that it will help my hormones play in tune.

Sorry about the bfn highheels -- big hug.
Best of luck to all those poas and baby dust to everybody ovulating :)

SpookyKalooki · 11/10/2010 20:29

highheels No such thing as too old for Hallowe'en! Sorry to hear about the BFN, t's horrible being on a long cycle after a BFN, so lots of virtual hugs for you!

alien I didn't know that either! It's amazing the amount of things I didn't know about my body before TTC! I seem to be constantly saying, "oh, really?! it does that?"

TomboyWife · 12/10/2010 07:16

Morning ladies, and apologies but it's going to be a me-me-me post as I've been too busy to keep up. I had my two job interviews yesterday, which seemed to go well despite my completely and utterly bricking it beforehand.

I'm now officially late, again, but I still don't feel pg and I'm pretty sure all the stress about the job interviews is just messing with my cycle. I'll give it a few more days before I consider testing.

MissFlick · 12/10/2010 07:44

Morning All,

tomboy good news on the job interviews. When will you hear the result? I think that not feeling pregnant is actually a very good symptom my dear :)

Hope the Hallowe'en plans are going well Kaloki!

womanly how rubbish about the lack of communication between the sonographers and the consultant :( You'd think that they would be a team. The stars will align for you, I know it. Good idea to set yourself a deadline of rethinking options- I am sure that by Jan everything will have worked out and you will be on your way to that little bundle in your arms. Keep hanging out here as we miss your loveliness.

Sorry about your BFN higheels and your cold and your extra cover. What a rubbish day :( My record for cycle length is 57 days- I think your ERTD will be here before then. Hope you enjoyed your busy evening- you put me to shame.

alien good news on the chilled approach. that is what I have been aiming for this month and I must say that it has been really nice. Good luck with the OFSTED eeekk. They came to my last school a week before my wedding- I was not loving it, that's for sure!

Sorry about your FERTD karstan at least you seem to have been spared the curse of wonky cycles so I guess that maybe that can be a small silver lining for you?

cave yes I was suprised about Strictly too! I loved the professional's quick step that they did on the results show.

Hi to everyone else- I am still snuffling away but came to work today. Am thinking that I might stay at home tomorrow but I'll see in the morning. I think Emma Cannon would tell me to rest Wink No news from me, desperately trying not to lose the plot and to remain calm for this last bit of my cycle (well, that's if we assume I am having a 'normal' cycle this month!)

Will pop back later on xx

Morning Frollickers

Good luck for the interview feedback Tomboy

Flick am impressed with your chilledness this cycle but Sad you're feeling ill. Must be the manic weekend catching up on you after the jet lag!

My exciting news is that I had a temp shift this morning, which means for the first cycle ever I accurately predicted OVing and timed SWI to coincide. I know this is a small thing but after long, then normal, then a very short cycle it does feel like progress! This will clearly be shortlived if my temp doesn't stay up now but let's see what tomorrow brings!

Am off to the Irish embassy before work to fetch a passport form for DH who has left it until 6 weeks before we go away to tell me his passport expired in August!!!

MissFlick · 12/10/2010 08:17

Exciting on the temp shift truff I LOVE charting. Everything just makes so much sense when it works!I did it for 4 months and got obsessed very in to it. I might get back into it in a couple of months but for now I will continue to try and not stress. I can feel my calmness slipping as I type so not sure how much longer it will be before I have a bout of outrageous symptom spotting as usual :) I think that you should have enough time to get the passport sorted- embassies are usually pretty quick if you are dealing directly with them. Fingers crossed!

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 12/10/2010 09:23

I haven't got a clue when it comes to temps but considering getting one of those fertility monitor thingys as I'm not sure I'm actually oving anymore, symptoms aren't really showing up as much, so at least if I try it a couple of times I canget an idea and then if I'm not oving I could go to docs, if I am oving I can get to the SWI

Hope everyone is ok today xx

Truffkin · 12/10/2010 09:43

Josie why don't you try temping first to see if that helps rather than shelling out for a CBFM? I joined Fertility Friend (inutially you get a free trial of the VIP service that helps to analyse your chart) and bought a BBT from Boots and it's been great even on my first month of temping. Annoyingly for me the own brand fertility thermometer has been reduced to £3.50 in my local Boots and I paid £15 for it only a month ago! If it's not reduced near you, they are available cheaply on the internet. Just make sure you get one that reads your temp to 2 decimal points as you need this level of accuracy to chart.

Sorry that turned into an epic post!

LankyLegs · 12/10/2010 09:50

Morning all,

Truff great news about the temp shift - well done on the timing. It always feels like such a great achievement! Hope your expedition to the embassy is fun!

Flick hope you are feeling ok - everyone is getting ill around here too - change in weather I think. Do try and take time out - although easier said than done!

Tomboy good luck with hearing about the interviews and also sounds exciting that you are late! Keep us posted!!

Womanly well done for staying positive about your consultant experience - he sounds like a twat. I hope that just going with it for a few months does the trick and come January you wont be in a position to think about what to do next.

highheels sorry about BFN as well - CD50 now? Poor thing. I hope you get an answer soon one way or the other

Cavey any FERTD news for you? I know you are feeling a bit up and down about it - really hope that you find out what is going on soon. I have been keenly watching SCD too - can not believe who actually stayed in.

Anyone watching Xfactor too? Or am I the only saddo around here?!

Waves to everyone else. Spooky love the new name in hommage of Halloween!!

I am getting some cramps today - not sure if they are ERTD or otherwise - feel a bit strange, but given up trying to read my body's signals - its too confusing!! Am totally expecting ERTD to turn up come Saturday as well. Am hoping this hycosy on Oct 26th will do the trick - but again trying not to think about it too much.

Have good day's all!

xxx

gardenpixie · 12/10/2010 10:20

Morning Frolickers

Womanly that's terrible about your consultant. It's so horrid anyway having to go and talk to medical folk about TTC that having to deal with a dysfunctional Dr as well is just not fair. I have a little dictaphone I use for interviews for work; do you want to borrow it and record his rubbishness so he can hear it back? Seriously though, well done for staying positive about it and realising it is entirely his problem. What a twat. (Is that an appropriate thing to call a gynae consultant...?)

Highheels sorry about your BFN - whether you expect it or not, it's never nice. Hope you are OK and feeling better?

Miss Flick boooo that you are feeling snuffly today; I think I nice day on the sofa tomorrow might be just what you need! Then you can dedicate some proper time to MN looking after yourself Grin

HRHCavey I'm afraid I've not been watching SCD yet. My attention span is rubbish so I usually leave it until later in the series so there are fewer people for me to remember! Also, my shameful televisual secret at the moment is True Blood. I just bought series one and two on DVD and spend most of my TV time watching it! Just finished though so it might be time for me to watch more normal stuff with fewer vampires in it ...

Tomboy wow how are you feeling after two interviews? I always find them so exhausting! I am keeping my fingers crossed for you that you get offered both jobs and can then take your pick. Don't worry about not feeling pg; my big surprise over the last few days is that, because of the HCG shot, I was briefed to prepare myself for really bad pg symptoms for a few days and have actually felt nothing... Am hoping for a nice BFP for you along with your job offers

Truff hurrah for temp shifts! Excellent news and great that you've SWI'd at the right time too. Fingers and toes crossed!

Lanky I hope your cramps are more pg than ERTD related! Hopefully you won't need to go for the hycosy! I did mine privately - it was so quick and easy, I was really surprised.

Josie I am sorry you think you might not be ov-ing; def worth getting a BTT though as it seems like the cheapest way to start checking.

Big waves to everyone else Grin xxxxx

JosieSmith1 · 12/10/2010 11:49

Thanks for the advice Truff and Garden, BBT sounds like a good idea, will give it a bash. I could be totally off the mark, just the first few cycles were really obvious but then the pains started on other days too and now they don?t seem to exist so might as well check.

Lanky I luuurve x-factor! Not allowed to watch SCD or I would watch that too, just managed to stretch to x-factor as DH used to like it but has gone off it now. Have to admit I?m a bit bored of all the talking and politics so tend to watch it on the internet later.

Argh, I just realised that when I worked out what part of my cycle I am on, I wrote it on my notepad, so have just noticed 12DPO written quite largely on it! Don?t think anyone would understand it but have scribbled it out just in case!

Might have made some leeway with DH about getting tattoo number 3 for xmas off him. He doesn?t want me to get anymore but now that he realises why I want it he?s bending every so slightly, just gotta keep at it Grin. And then once I?ve got that one I can work on number 4 and final Hmm one

zippys · 12/10/2010 17:34

Sorry I have been a little quiet but still no ERTD so I am going to test tonight - 9 ish days late now!! Think I will be having another funny cycle but there is still that little bit of hope in me that I refuse to give up on.

Will report back tomorrow.

Karstan · 12/10/2010 20:26

Yes MissFlick I am blessed Hmm with regular cycles, a positive thing when trying to conceive, less convenient the rest of my life!

But, yes, it's one less thing to worry about and I think at least I don't have chance to build up any false hopes to then have them dashed.

Difficulty getting pregnant for me isn't likely to be hormonal, more structural (fibroids). And I'm aware time is ticking, because in a few years I may need surgery (hysterectomy) and then this chapter is closed. But trying to stay positive, at least my cycles are fairly short so that's 13 opportunities per year :-)

HRHCavey · 12/10/2010 20:40

Good evening ladies, just popping my head round the door to say hi.

I'm being naughty and Mumsnetting when I should be finishing off my first piece of coursewaork ready to hand in next week. I think it is safe to say I just can't be arsed at the moment!
It is more or less finished as it is: the only thing I have left to do is get myself filmed giving my presentation and that is all set to happen on Friday.

Still no sign of anything on the ERTD front. To be honest I'm trying not to think about it too much. There is nothing I can do to MAKE it arrive so I just have to wait it out.

zippys good luck with your testing.

[waves] to everyone else :)

TomboyWife · 12/10/2010 20:51

Evening ladies, and good luck zippys ! Fingers crossed for you.

Good luck also to Truffkin that everything's come together right and this month is your month.

Lanky I reckon feeling weird is a good sign.

I ought to hear about my job interviews in the next few days. Part of me wants not to be pg this month as it would be less than nice for any new employer, and normally I wouldn't be looking to change jobs while TTC, but I'm due to be made redundant sometime next year, so I don't have much choice.

Still no ERTD and I'm getting twitchy to POAS. This is partly because my work colleagues are going on the p*ss tomorrow night and I want to know if I can join them. I've been very somewhat lax about the alcohol this month, but this is likely to be a whole new level of laxity. My colleagues could drink for England.
