Hi all - Good to see you digi and brilliant news on the scan, great stuff!
ah mummyabroad, well, if you're really worried than I guess you need to see whether you can find a specialist with some experience in Ashermans there. Have you found the support group online? Maybe they can give you some advice?
Well, the appointment went fine this morning, mostly. There was one result not back yet, and they didn't receive a sample from me to do the chromosome testing so I have to go back and give that again.
The consultant himself was ok, quite a blunt manner but not unfriendly and not patronising, especially when he realised I'd come prepared and could talk numbers to him.
So results are - tested positive for Leiden Factor V mutation, but only one copy of the mutation on my gene, not two - this raises risk of clotting by ~ 10% I think, whereas if I had two copies it would much much higher. Consultant didn't feel that I should be treated for this on pregnancy to try to prevent miscarriage, but that it should be noted if pregnancy proceeds in case I get hospitalized for any reason as they'd probably want to keep an eye on it.
Not sure how I feel about that, pleased that I don't immediately need to contemplate daily injections, but think I'll get the 'testing' ladies view on it as well.
Other clotting tests seem to be within normal ranges.
Antiphospholipid test wasn't completed yet so have to wait a bit longer that.
Follicular screening all looked mostly fine for someone with PCOS - my LH/FSH ratio is looking good, and he was happy with me remaining on Metformin, feels confident that I'm ovulating on it, which I agree with.
He reminded me
that PCOS is associated with increased MC risk (oh good). I guess I'd blanked that out, concentrating on PCOS effect on getting pg in the first place and wasn't worrying about so much as I seem to be ovulating ok.
Anyway - apart from the Leiden Factor V, I'm basically in the same position as I was before I conceived DS, so no difference at the moment, we just keep on trying and hope the next one sticks.
Got a follow-up in 4 weeks where maybe some results on the antiphospholipid will be in.
