POAS BFN :(

BUT still absolutely no sign of the old bitch and I didnt get a BFP til day 40 or 42 (cant remember) last time so all is not lost (although I'm being realistic)

appleblossoms · 09/10/2010 11:10

Will pop back later once ds is asleep for a proper catch up, but wanted to put you all out of your suspense...just got back home with an hpt, and it's a BFP!!! I'm still shaking! Oh my goodness. It came up really quick and really dark so i'm hoping that's a good sign.
Any news from velvet??

appleblossoms · 09/10/2010 11:16

Oh hun x-posted with you. I'm sorry. Fx it's just too early.

Velvetcu · 09/10/2010 11:18

Congrats apple at least one of us got one :)

youremindmeofthebabe · 09/10/2010 11:28

Yey apple!! thats fantastic news! fx for uneventful pregnancy!

Boo, velvet. Still, it aint all over til the OB sings.. fx for you.

mouse there's debate that perhaps the ERPC thins the womb lining excessively (cos of the scraping) so then it would need a cycle to regain enough thickness in order for bean to stick properly. But as you may have guessed, nobody really knows. Sorry you're here though.

hairy that's fab! I bet it's just too early, so good luck for the 22nd! woop!

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/10/2010 12:21

appleblossoms · 09/10/2010 12:59

Right, DS is in bed at least... so a moment to catch up.

Have messaged a few of you about facebook...if I haven't and you'd like to meet up message me! Smile

Welcome mouse, so sorry for your loss. This is a great place to be though, these chocoholics ladies are fantastic! and there's always plenty of wine and chocolate being passed round to cheer up even the teariest day Grin. about waiting or not, I didn't actively try in the WTF cycle but didn't take any real precautions either, and did find I was actually almost relieved when AF appeared....but was suitably disappointed by AF#2!

How are the rest of you today? Apart from being in suspenders all morning?? You can now take them all off...

nicks feeling any better my love? That's good news about the infection, not at all MC related!

PFF sorry you had a crappy day yesterday, sometimes I think a good cry can do the world of good.

owls I know you're already gone, but hope you have a really relaxing holiday!

I've stopped shaking now....feeling a mix of excited and scared right now. Please say I can stick around though?? Still don't really believe it...maybe I'll POAfewmoreS next week just to convince myself. Just goes to show though....sometimes opk's do pick up pregnancy!

waves to everyone..promise to be a little less self-obsessed from now on!

AandRMum · 09/10/2010 13:01

Ooooo apples am so pleased for you.

velvet fx it is a bit early.

MummyAbroad · 09/10/2010 13:39

ASmile PSmile PSmile LSmile ESmile

Grin Grin Grin GrinGREAT NEWS!!! Grin Grin Grin

Velvet, we are all here to hold your hand through the next few days, suspenders still on for you! xxxxxxxxxxxx

Apple really hope you stick around with us for longer and after BFP you are allowed to a be a little more obsessed if you like (I suspect I would be Smile) Did you know that there is a grads thread too? (Its over on Pregnancy topic)
Cheers!

Right another update on the Lesley Reagan Miscarriage book. Its jam packed full of info but not for the faint hearted. Its a bit like googling your worst fears and finding pages of gory descriptions of things that could be wrong with you that you never knew about before but suddenly feel convinced you now suffer from! Several times a page I have to stop and take a deep breath and remind myself its not a self diagnostic tool.

Have a lovely weekend everyone xxxx

nickstermum · 09/10/2010 14:14

Helloooooooooooooooo!

Velvet Hunny xxxxx Perhaps its too early?! M?Y BFP came on day 42 last time.

apples whoop whoop :) news of awesomeness xx RIGHT - feetup DVD chick movie on and lots of brocolli for you young lady xxxx

fondant sorry u were feeling crap,,, hope the nice weather has cheered you up?

Hmmm my head is well and truly scrambled today over Ovulation times. Its so pickled i nearly didnt come on here, thinking its making me obsessive! Then again thats just me!! I have been having twitchiness and high cervix since day 15 which followd 2 days of spotting. Then day 18 19 and 20 heavy pant snot!! Now... who the hell knows how long this cycle will be as its first after MC but equally i have been drinking tons of pineapple juice in the last 3 days.. could that be having the same effect as grapefruit juice? TBH i now have no clue when i ov, and is dead certain to have missed the window!
I suspect i have got it wrong... when i have conceived before i DTD day 18 which means i OV between 18 and 20 on a 35 day cycle

Talk to me about temping... do i need a special thermometer or can i just use a normal one? HELP! i think that is my only way forward !

PinkFondantFancy · 09/10/2010 14:30

velvet sorry about BFN can I hang around with you while we both wait to see what on earth is going on??

apples yay yay yay yay yay I reckon quick and dark is a great sign! Awesomeness!

nickster I am no expert so anyone who knows better, shout, but I've been using a normal 1 decimal place one and seems to be doing the job ( of stressing me out...)hehe no be seriously have noticed about a half degree difference between first half and second half of cycle.

Hi to everyone else, am on phone so hard to see all messages.

MummyAbroad · 09/10/2010 14:50

Hello,

Nix and Pink, yes you do need a basal digital thermometer, they are calibrated to be more accurate at normal temp ranges whereas the fever ones are better at detecting very high (fever) temps. They are dead cheap on Amazon, about 6 quid. They also work faster than a normal one, and beep at you to let you know you are doing it right both important things because you have to do it FIRST THING after you open your eyes in the morning, before moving or getting up to wee etc.

Then get yourself signed up on FertilityFriend website- i have only just realised that if I recommend people then we both get extra VIP days, so visit my page and click on sign up. Here you can input your temps and it does all the chart drawing and maths for you. (its similar software to what is inside a clear blue digital monitor) FF is free but if you have VIP membership you get extra bells and whistles and you can ask the staff experts to look at your chart and answer questions.

You can even visit the site via Iphone (someone on here does this, is it you Izzy? or Wiggle, sorry I forget!)

FF also has really good tutorials that they send via email, they will teach you everything you need to know about temping and also EWCM, cervical position and all that stuff.

Also really useful is the Charters Anonymous thread , loads of experts on there who will anaylse your chart for you!

nickstermum · 09/10/2010 15:36

/cheers MA somehow i managed to get it right twice before but this time my head is shredded.

will go on amazon now :) and FF next xxx

MummyAbroad · 09/10/2010 15:54

I know how you feel, I did 2WW twice back to back!! Its was horrible. First doctor told me I was ovulating, and I believed him, then two weeks later I started temping and realised I had just ovualated and therefore had to wait ANOTHER two weeks... and then didnt get AF or BFPConfused makes you just feel mental doesnt it?

I love the temping thing though, its the only thing that really reassured me that I did ovulate (as it matched info from cervix and OPK's) and highlighted that I did have a problem with AF returning.

By the way I am also recording in the notes bit of FF what vits I am taking, helping lots to keep track of that too.

nickstermum · 09/10/2010 16:39

MENTAL! I feel like am going NUTS! DH is getting pissed off with me as i have been saying for 5 days "must be OV today" and then we end up arguing and he wont shag me!! Angry GAH! I am now indeed having a lesson on fertility on FF! Add that to me being away and he being fluey just a fucking shit bad combo!... and not having 1 positive OPK! Head is spinning with it all GRRRR!

on a plus the weather is fab here, been out on a 7mile bike ride :) (with DH and DS in his seat) blown away the cobwebs and had the afternoon in the garden... weeding :( & trying to stop the cats from murdering each other... Hmm (nope make that trying to stop DS chopping his hands off in the greenhouse, and the big cat from murdering the little cat, and weeding!)

Thanks for the tips MA i realised i was already registered with FF but had lost pword. Watching videos later on to refresh myself !

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 09/10/2010 17:33

(((( nicks )))) sounds like you're having a tough day! I found the temping really helpful, it makes things much clearer somehow, and yes it was me who downloaded the ff app onto iPhone so I cam input it without getting out of bed! I got a proper bbt thermometer (2 decimal places) but it was really cheap from amazon (under a fiver). They come in either Celsius or fahrenheit, so just make sure you get the right one depending on what units you're most comfortable with.

mummyabroad am ashamed to say I've never even read TCOYF, was just looking at buyingbit but there are about 3 different versions on amazon - which ine do I want? Should I just buy the most recent edition?

sunchild77 · 09/10/2010 17:50

aw nicks I'm sorry that you are having a crappy time of it. I swear I have to pretend to be all hornyl, seductive etc to get dh to shag me. If I mention ttc at all, he seems to find it the biggest turn off ever, and then doesnt understand why we arent getting upduffed FFS. MEN!

I've never temped before, but if still no bfp by next month I'm going to start it for sure.

I'm just starting 2ww and trying TRYING not to get stressed/anxious about it all.

I am a bit sad as I saw yesterday that a girl I was on March 2011 with had a mmc. I dont know her all that well, but from reading other's experiences here, my heart really goes out to her.

Izzywizzy hi to you too! I'm having an ok weekend. Going out tonight for a "ladies night" fundraiser so planning on having a few drinkies :o

sunchild77 · 09/10/2010 17:51

hornyl = horny! LOL

Jamface · 09/10/2010 18:03

Congratulations Apple, that's fantastic news!

Fingers crossed velvet that it was just a bit too early. Hope you're feeling OK.

hello to everyone else Grin. I don't know where time is going at the moment. I've been popping in fairly often to see what's been happening, but have never felt like I have the time to do a proper post. Hope everyone is having a good weekend. DH is out tonight and I'm DELIGHTED as it means I get a night of guilt free X-Factor!

On a 1WW now. Still stupid symptom spotting (the most ridiculous reason I've come up with to think I could be pregnant is being hungry Hmm.) But even if not, I feel like my cycle is back on track so finally getting there (somewhere?!) post mc x

nickstermum · 09/10/2010 19:07

Hey sunny :) know exactly what you mean. Why is TTC such a turn off for them? You would think they would be happy to get their oats so regularly...and actually get something out of it at the end of it too! Oh well XF tonight so maybe Chezza will do it for him Grin although i do think she has been a bit bland the last couple of weeks! Pussy cat dolly bird was a bit of a breath of fresh air i thought, even though she clearly loves her self! Wonder what controversy tonight will bring x

mousebacon · 09/10/2010 19:32

Thank you for all your advice ladies. Having a bit of a down day again today and still testing positive so a bit up in the air at the mo. It's only been a week though so still v early days. Just keep thinking "as long as I'm pg by Xmas" or "maybe it'll work straight away this time" but I know I'm being ridiculous. Gah! I just wish none of this had happened. I bought our memory box today to put the few bits and bobs in. Is that really morbid?

Sorry for the self indulgence. It's so lovely to see a BFP on here already as well Smile xxx

CaribouMoo · 09/10/2010 20:10

Hurrraah Apples that's brilliant news!! Try and keep calm and enjoy as much as possible. Sorry it wasn't a double celebration Velvet, yet at least.

Nicks having tried just about the lot I swear by temping and using Tesco opks mid cycle when I am about to OV. The CBFM is good but v expensive when the former delivers the same results. Got my temp kit from Boots.

Mouse its not morbid at all and you need to do what you need to do to heal and remember your baby. I have one with the positive pregnancy tests and various scan pics from my 2 losses and my current pregnancy - with a little gaurdian angel in there to look after them. You're right, its very early days and this is a long haul but it does get easier so take care.

I just about plucked the courage up today to put the pregnancy loss status update on FB then one of my friends announced her pregnancy. It kind of threw me, thinking that if I did that it would make her feel bad or think I was intentionally trying to make her feel guilty. Does that make sense?

There's probably no one about since X Factor is on. Hope you're all having a good night

LadyBee · 09/10/2010 20:47

Evening all

apples! hooray! Congratulations m'dear I hope you're managing to enjoy the glow of getting the bfp and haven't jumped straight into worry. You deserve every happiness. Am dead chuffed. Grin

velvetcu sorry about your bfn but am still crossing fingers that AF never turns up. If she didn't arrive 5 mins after testing I take that as a good sign.

nickster why do you think you've missed the window? If you're still getting ewcm I'd assume you haven't ov yet. Once you see cloudy/gluggy cm or it dries up I'd assume you had as it's the progesterone that does that. Temping is good for checking whether it's over with, although no guarantee (see my last post). If your cycle is regular at 35 days I'd assume ov 13-14 days before that, so day 21-22. DTD on day 18 would certainly have a good chance of getting you pg. if your dh is protesting I reckon you should attempt to DTD around day 12, in case day 15 is an early ov, then day 15, 18, 20, 22 or 15, 18, 21 if that's more your style.
But I reckon not telling him that you're ovulating would be better, I know it isn't fair but noone likes to think that the only reason they're being seduced is for their genetic material. Smile

My dh really struggles with this, we've had several failed attempts in this month and previous cycles, I really try to not let him know exactly when I think it's crucial, but I get pissed off with having to act all nonchalant when we both want me to get pregnant. I'm a bit guilty of not continuing DTD after ovulation, but then so is he! so it's quite hard to pretend it's not the 'right' time when I do start initiating. Ah it's a minefield!

pink Sorry to hear you've been low the last few days. I have too - two days of being very weepy, today was a bit better but I still don't feel like the optimistic me of this time last week. Ive noted it down because I can't work out whether it's a cycle-thing or whether it's just how I feel iyswim.

Tomorrow is my first wedding anniversary. I am looking forward to a nice dinner out but am a bit scared I'll dissolve into tears at some point - it hasn't been a first year to celebrate in many ways. Still, nice that dh has made the effort, he booked everything including the babysitter ShockGrin. I hope this is something that continues in future years Hmm

Oh. And my temp is finally climbing - ff still hasn't drawn a line but I'm pretty sure that's me done.

nickstermum · 09/10/2010 22:10

hi ladies, trying to watch XF without cringing, but struggling!! Some good some hideous!

carib going to start temping for sure. Hope you are feeling good xx
Bee Missed the window as DH is not about and has been poorly the last couple of days so SWI too early day 15 and not since Confused. Have to go for that perfectly timed once or twice just cos we are ships that pass in the night which just adds to the frustration! Thanks for the suggestions though :) My cycle pre MC was anything between 32 and 40 so i think i have to assume i am OV late and stop getting self into manic obsessive mode!!!

Enough ME ME ME...sorry ladies! sorry you are feeling low BEE comes and goes doesnt it? Hopefully you will have a wonderful night tomorrow and DH spoils you xxx

mouse hope you are ok toots xx i think its a lovely idea for a memory box. I wish i had something to save for mine :(

apples how you feeling luvvy? Ecstatic and scared i would have thought.... try to relax and enjoy it :)

Waves to everyone fondant hope you are feeling better, Izz, MA, MP and anyone else who have missed. Have a fab weekend x
