Hi LadyBee, sorry you have been feeling down. You've been an absolute rock on here for all of us for ages. Hope you get your mojo back soon! It was my first year anniversary two months ago and it was bitter sweet. I blubbed a bit but also just spending time together and focusing on our relationship did me/us the world of good. It made me realise how much we'd been neglecting it beforehand. I really hope you get some quality time together (doesnt matter if you have a weep, its still good to connect) xxx

mousebacon I dont think a memory box is at all morbid. I threw away all the keepsakes early on and now regret it. I think it was my way of avoiding grieving, I was so focused instead on trying to "be strong" and "move on" In the end I had a big meltdown one day and it was only after that that I truly starting dealing with the loss and then started to heal. I think that it is very important to recognise that you have lost something very very precious to you, and what you have lost cannot be replaced by another pregnancy. If you are able to face and deal with your grief now then when you get pregnant again, you will be able to enjoy it for what it is, an entirely separate event from this one. In my experience of chatting to women on here, most peoples bodies are ready to TTC again long before their emotions are (even though everybody desperately wants to try immediately!) Do give yourself time to process what has happened. It can make overall "healing time" quicker in the long run.

Nix Its so hard to know whats really going on with your cycle without temping, start soon and we will analyse every facet of your chart for you! xxx

Hi caribou - I think the status update is brave and admirable. Whats wrong with showing support for women who have miscarried? Even if it is read by pregnant women? Until I mc'd I really knew nothing about it at all, and that is a bit sad really. I think perhaps you have helped to change that situation a little bit.

Am I really missing something not watching X factor? Is this something I need to be downloading?
Night all xxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxxx

PinkFondantFancy · 10/10/2010 09:25

Morning all!

Big hugs for ladybee and mouse.

Mummy A I registered with FertilityFriend by visiting your page first so fingers crossed it's recognised it came from you. Hahahahahaha-this is what it has to say about me though: "Note: Your chart data does not allow ovulation to be pinpointed to within a 24 hour timeframe.
Your temperature suggests, however, that ovulation may have occured between CD 14 and CD 29" Fabulous....

Can any of you recommend a particular brand of BBT? There are a few on Amazon but most of them have got bad reviews :-( I have bought pre-seed and about to buy TCOYF whoop now all ready and waiting for the old witch to turn up, at which point I'll buy a fertility monitor. Surely throwing money at this is the answer??!?! Erm!! I've been trying to tempt the old witch with tighty whities but she's not taking the bait!

PinkFondantFancy · 10/10/2010 09:35

I got the access diagnostics thermometer in the end. They claim to supply to the NHS although I have no clue why the NHS would want BBTs!!! I've been looking at everyones facebooks - pretty ladies! :-D

nickstermum · 10/10/2010 09:39

TCOYF???? whats that?

MA no you arent missing anything with XF its crap... but just about the only thing on tv on a sat night!! Confused

PinkFondantFancy · 10/10/2010 09:45

Sorry Nicks don't know why I thought everyone else would understand my random 5 letter acronym!! "Taking Charge of Your Fertility" book! Someone on here recommended it a couple of days ago although I can't remember who - thanks though whoever it was!

Does anyone here watch the Inbetweeners on channel 4?? It is v.v. funny - perfect if you're feeling a bit down.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 10/10/2010 10:13

pink sorry ff not giving you some better answers. I got a babymad thermometer (either from amazon or eBay, can't remember which). I don't think any if them had fabulous reviews but it seems to be working fine for me! I'm another one about to purchase TCOYF - there a few different versions on amazon but I'm assumng we want the most recent (2006?) edition.

nicks sorry your cycle's being so frustrating, get thee a thermometer! It definitely helped to clarify mine.

mousebacon I don't think it's morbid, I have a memory box with my scan pics and printouts, appt letters, hospital wristband, cards I got after we lost the baby, order of service from the memorial service etc. I also got a personalised christmas bauble from Alexandras Angel gifts, because dc3 was due at Christmas, and that's living in the memory box for now. I don't look at it very much, but somehow find it a comfort to know it's there IYKWIM. I think everyone has their own way of dealing with it (I know dh finds the memory box a bit weird) but personally I find it helps.

((( ladybee ))) hope you're feeling better today and managing to enjoy your anniversary. It's very difficult to get to "big" occasions and realise that where you are is very different to where you had planned and hoped to be, if that makes sense. But the fact that you have helped each other through this last year and managed to stay strong is worth celebrating.

appleblossoms · 10/10/2010 10:15

Thanks for all the congratulations, I'm trying to think positive this morning... Will call the GP tomorrow and hopefully see him this week and book an early scan. My big thing is since I had a mmc last time, I just don't trust any 'symptoms' I may or may not feel..ah well, worrying isn't going to change the outcome. EEEEK! not quite sure I'm ready to be a graduate though, is pretty scary seeing it there in black and white.... Confused

nicks sorry your body's playing silly buggers and not letting you know what's going on. That's just plain rude! Sorry you've been having a rubbish time lately, hope all improves soon.

MA any sign of AF??? Hope you're not left hanging around toooo much longer.

sunchild good luck with 2ww and not getting stressed... sometimes I wish we were back in the dark ages when we had no idea how babies were really made, might take some of this anxiety out of it all! Just wake up one morning with a bump and then sometime later a baby... Smile

jam being hungry is definitely a pregnancy sign. Yup! Wink hehe

Congrats on wedding anniversary lady - hope you're DH knows he's starting a trend here. Expensive meals out and celebrations every year! I hope today is going better and you're enjoying yourself. As MummyA said, can be really good to just focus on yourself and your relationship for a little bit. So are you on the 2ww now? Good luck

Caribooooo how are you doing sweetie? How's pregnancy?? are you enjoying it?

mouse I think your memory box is a great idea. I threw away most of my things as I just couldn't bare to look at them, but MA is right (she is about most things! Wink) I've since regretted it as it was a real pregnancy and deserves to be remembered.

PFF, velvet how are you lovely girls feeling today?

anyone heard from dachs recently? Hope you're doing okay lovely.

who else is on fb that i'm missing? It's lovely to actually 'see' you all!

I'm making chelsea buns today in my breadmaker, just because! If they turn out okay I shall bring some along later for an evening treat!

big hugs to all those that need them, and waves to everyone

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 10/10/2010 10:18

Oh and velvet of course - any news yet? >

Velvetcu · 10/10/2010 11:43

mmmm Chelsea buns :)
Any more symptoms apple? I also had mmc so wouldnt trust anything either!

I'm on fb too - how are you all getting each others info to add?

No news from me, still lots of white stuff and expanding boobs. Usually I have 2-3 days of spotting before AF so no idea what she's doing. Will POAS again next weekend if nothing happens. Have been googling, which as we know, is not a good idea! My sister didnt get a BFP on HPT until day 45 too so, being a scientist, this got me to thinking maybe we have odd hCG which cant be detected unless it is in large quantities. Turns out that this is a possibility.

However, I'm not getting my hopes up. Was grumpy yesteday about BFN and have dealt with it so I am just waiting for RTD to get here.

I am happy this morning coz its sunny enough to hang out the washing - how sad is that!!

Choccybick · 10/10/2010 11:45

Good morning......
just thinking 10.10.10 has to be a day to make history - so is anyone POAS today??

MummyA - you´re not really missing much not watching XF. BUT I just love the first ones when people think they can sing and get a hoot out of it. Now some of the ones who have gone through to the live shows can´t sing but will split the nation of XF watchers. As Nickster said there´s nothing much else on tv on Sat night....even though we have 100s of channels...LOL I am outing myself as an XF fan here.Blush

Apple good luck with your buns. Now youre really proving the point of having bun in the oven. Chelsea Buns! I think you´re right in getting in touch with your doc. see what they can do for you to organise some extra scan or something...
I still cant believe the fact that you have to wait 12 weeks in UK.

Im still wondering about this ff thing. or if I should start taking my temp. now heres a really blonde question...... do you just take your temp with thermometer in mouth..... you dont stick it up other SWI places do you???

BLONDE MOMENT

Thanks chattermonsters xx
Do not know what the hell my body is doing Angry had a row with DH about it yest, and its just making me stressy as hell. He told me to go buy a CBFM but i would prefer to spend 6 quid rather than 100!! I have now had my biology lesson on FF and feel more comfortable having been taught about the birds and the bees once more, had a looksy at some diff charts and started to understand it somewhat xx

catch up later DS howlind x

MummyAbroad · 10/10/2010 13:45

Hello!

Welcome to the world of FF charting Nix! Its a real eye opener - you will be even more converted after TCOYF!! I got a second hand copy off Amazon its the 10th Anniversary Edition and it came with CD Rom of charting software that I never used because a) its only a 15 day trial version, then you have to buy it b) I prefer to have my data online on FF so it wont get lost. c) I think FF software is better, see below.

I am not absolutely sure about this, so best do your own research but I think these are the differences between FF, clearblue and persona

FF - uses temps, OPK, cervix checking and CM position to calculate ov date. The software used to do the calculations is tailor made by FF, but at any time you can change the settings to use other methods like FAM (which is method described in TCOYF) or the one used in clearblue/persona amongst others (total 4 methods)

Clearblue - uses pee sticks testing for oestrogen (estradiol) and LH, uses its own tailor made software based on current pee sticks and past menstral dates and ov dates.

Persona - tests only (??) LH levels and uses its own tailor made software based on current pee sticks and past menstral dates and ov dates

I thought about getting the clearblue a while back, but because I have to pay shipping costs to costa rica the expense (especially of pee sticks) was looking like too much. I calculated that instead of buying the monitor I could buy enough OPK's to be able to test twice a day and still be in pocket. So thats what I am doing right now, maxing the OPK's and using FF to do all my calculations.

Thanks for the free VIP days by the way!! Make sure you are the next person to recommend someone so you get some too Smile

I took my last round of progesterone tablets yesterday so I am expecting AF to arrive very soon. Bit worried TBH as I have read so many scary things lately, if it doesnt come then I really do have a problem...

AppleBunintheOven I had an mmc too, its very frightening what your body can do without letting you know about it. FX you get that early scan, I think its the only thing that will really reassure you. xxx

Right I am off to make chilli con carne for 20 people. The in laws are coming!!Shock

xxxxxxxxxxxxxx

nickstermum · 10/10/2010 14:49

Velvet message the posters you want to connect to on bookface and then include your name or email address, thats the easiest thing!

MA you really are the ORACLE! thankyou. considering i dont have much luck POAS for OV then i will stick to FF (and the cheapo thermometre) I am going to force DH to watch those videos too..... wish me luck Grin

velvet everything still crossed for you, fondant i hope you dont get yours but MA i hope you do get yours xx

SUNS OUT, GORGE DAY,...... FAB!!!! Grin Grin Grin

MummyAbroad · 10/10/2010 17:06

chocky I take my temperature orally, I think this is the most common. I have read that if your temps seem to be leaping about a bit you can take them vaginally and supposedly this works a bit better (something to do with sleeping with your mouth open messing up temps for some people) You can also take it rectally if you like Shock

Velvet - I'll message you (if I havent already, getting mightily confused now as to who everyone really is!

Nix what videos? looks like you have found something I havent. I signed up for the "fertility course" where they send you about 20 emails to your inbox.

I wish I was an oracle then i could predict when I am going to get bloody AF! Grin

nickstermum · 10/10/2010 17:43

theres enough furtling about in the old foo foo so i think i wont be doing that vaginally Shock GrinGrin

Not videos, little power point slide shows that take you back to basics talking about EWCM and Temping! (on FF)

nickstermum · 10/10/2010 17:48

velvet you are not sad about the washing. I am delighted to have got mine out this weekend. Sadly the washer has just packed up tho, with my smalls in it!!! Biscuit

Jamface · 10/10/2010 17:51

Hello all,

Hope your chilli goes well mummya, sounds tasty. And fingers crossed that progesterone does its job.

I guess you're trying to realistic/pessimistic to avoid disappointment velvet about what's going on but I agree, if your boobs are expanding and your sis had a similar experience then anything's possible. Fingers crossed for you too my dear.

Hope you're doing well apple and have enjoyed your good news this weekend.

Hope you and Dh have made up nickster. It's a hard subject to talk about with them and they can normally almost always be guaranteed to say the wrong thing.

Any Hi to everyone else too.

Weekend has been good - enjoying the sunshine today, wasn't it beautiful? Feeling a bit fed up though as have started spotting. Would love to think it is implantation bleeding, but think it's more likely to be bloody AF screwing around and arriving early this time instead of 3 weeks late like last 2 cycles Sad. I have got over the very raw grief stage and most of the time just get on with stuff and don't let myself wallow too much, but today am thinking WHY is everything so bloody difficult and nothing easy or straightforward.

Moan over, have a nice eve ladies x

appleblossoms · 10/10/2010 17:54

Evening all

Hope you've all been enjoying the sunshine.

I'm the same MummyA, I'm getting a tad confused with who's who in RL...but it is lovely seeing you all, you're such a preeeeety bunch of ladies!

maybe we could do a quick head count of who wants to be contacted on FB and then someone who is good at these things could send us all a message with everyone's real name and MN name?

velvet I really don't have any symptoms to speak of right now...boobs are still a bit sore, and dh reckons they're getting bigger...and I had a nice afternoon nap today...but it's all pretty subjective stuff that I feel I could be imagining How are you feeling?? and PFF??

and jam when are you testing??? I think we deserve a few more BFPs...

appleblossoms · 10/10/2010 17:57

sorry you're feeling rubbish today...

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 10/10/2010 18:15

((((hugs)))) jamface sorry you're feeling down, I do sympathise. This month I also had early spotting and you keep telling yourself it's AF arriving early (which it was) but there's always a tiny part of you that can't give up hope that it might be IB, and then it's such a huge disappointment when she does arrive. Fx it'll turn out to be the other for you though, not over yet.

nicks I also do temping orally. Vaginally is supposed to be more accurate but tbh we're having a hard enough time trying to keep the romance alive without dh having to wake up to me popping the thermometer up my fanjo every day! Hope you and dh are back on good terms now.

mummyabroad hope AF stays away from jam and hurries over to you instead!

apples - relax and breathe Smile

I've been to local harvest fair this afternoon and have had a lovely time watching Morris dancing and drinking cider in the sunshine, while the DCs made bird feeders out of reeds and apples and the like, so feeling very chilled out now. Was slightly concerned when cider farmers warned us it could be hallucinogenic "because sometimes they gather up mushrooms along with the apples, but it does add some extra flavour, just don't drink too much!" but thus far the weirdest things I've seen are the Morris dancers, so I think I've escaped unscathed!

LadyBee · 10/10/2010 18:34

izzy psychotropic cider sounds like a good name for a modern Morris group, you seem to have been superbly lucky for the day out, what a stunning autumn day!

I also looked with satisfaction at my washing on the line. Did any of you see the thread about line-drying being banned in many neighbourhoods in USA? I pity them for forgetting how gooooood it smells.

Well, the day has been pretty low-key, DS is in the bath so hopefully in bed before the babysitter arrives. House is reasonably respectable and I'm just about to go upstairs to get dressed to go out. Got a very thoughtful gift from dh and I'm really looking forward to the restaurant. And FINALLY ff drew an ovulation line on my chart. She reckons I ov on day 15, not sure how but I'm not going to argue : I'd rather jump to 5dpo than have to start counting from today. Not feeling totally positive about our chances but not despairing either so we'll see what happens.

See you tomorrow ladies for a proper catch up.

nickstermum · 10/10/2010 19:03

BEE have a fantabulously magical evening out and congrats for making it 1 year xx

(you only get into bickering mode when you have achieved 10 like me and mr nicks Shock Hmm but its lovely really Grin) xx

the last time i was like that was on gas & air!!

Izz fanjo ha ha ha ha ha.... is it round with a long arm and does he strum your strings to make magic music!?!?!?! Grin

Been such an awesome wkend weather wise, been out and about in the sun for most of it :) Wonderful to get at least 2 days of an indian summer!

Getting back to ME i think what has thrown me this month has been the mega ov symptoms i have had over such a long period of time ie EWCM for like 4 days, open & twitchy from day 15, high cervix etc. I have NEVER had symptoms for that length of time, only 1 or 2 days at most..... it must be the fruit juice helping! Well,i dont expect a bfp this month, but hopefully DH will be more receptive to SWI on the spot next month xxxx

Waves to jam- hiya toots, chin up xxx
apples great u having symptoms, feet up... second you too..... all the ladies are very pretty indeed xxx

Choccybick · 10/10/2010 19:55

Hi peeps

was also getting somewhat confused about the fb and mixing up names, so have made a list....will send it to all of you and velvet.
x
Yep -have to agree - you´re all a lovely looking bunch.

So....Im freshly bathed, hair washed and ready on the sofa for XF Grin
unfortunately no maltesers tonight....

Apple - are your chelsea buns ready??

Izzy - your day sounded nice

I spent mine in the garden, a friend came over and we had bangers&mash for tea. Smile
