Hi I'm new to the conception boards. Is anyone else planning to start ttc in November or december and wants to join me on a new thread?
DS has an appointment at GOSH on 25 November, we are waiting to get that out of the way before ttc number 2!

Congratulations Magen!

Chateau - sorry but keep positive as Magen says.

I'm now on CD6 of what will be our first month of trying, fingers crossed, although I don't even really expect to ovulate yet after being on the pill.

asouth don't count it out a lot of women are fertile right after stopping. Be on the look out for EWCM! That's what did it for us.

ChateauMargot · 30/11/2010 19:02

Thanks, Magen and southwold. Trying to be philosophical about it - it was only the first go, after all, and my cycle's been all over the place since coming off the pill. Feeling a bit woozy now and trying not to think that it could be pregnancy hormones - much more likely the mahoosive gingerbread latte I just inhaled!

GrownupsLikeQuiet · 01/12/2010 16:07

Congratulations Magen, and commiserations Chateau.

I decided not to try this month - don't want to be pg over Christmas Grin. Will apply myself properly next monthXmas Grin

wallydog · 01/12/2010 23:04

Congratulations Magen, and commiserations Chateau.

Me too - think gonna be January now!!!!Xmas Grin

Arabella36 · 02/12/2010 09:36

Aha! I'm not the only one reluctant to be preggers over Christmas partying time then! I see wallydogs and grownups are of a similar mind.
I was pg last year so will be nice to be able to join in the festivities with greater gusto this time!

Hils74 · 02/12/2010 19:12

Hi all, on the look out for EWCM but seem to have 'spotting' instead, I know its a pg symptom but I don't have any others.

Anyone on here who already has DC had this before?

asouthwoldmummy · 02/12/2010 20:18

Hils - I had spotting with DS. It was when my period was due. I had spotting last thing at night, I thought AF was starting. The next day there was nothing so I done a test and it was positive. Good luck, fingers crossed!

Hi Hills, I also had spotting with DD1 and period-like cramps when AF was due. I really thought AF was starting and kept nipping to the loo at work to check before doing a test which was neg. Two days (and lots of tests) later I finally got the BFP.

Arabella36 · 02/12/2010 20:36

Hi HILS74 - I was the same as Grownups before my BFP. I told my DH that I wasn't going to be pregnant that month as I had pre-menstrual symptoms. Then I did a purely precautionary preg test before going to a big party as i knew I'd be drinking more than usual and I wanted to be 100% sure I could get drunk safely.

Could have knocked me down with a feather when it said "Pregnant 1-2 weeks"! No drunken-ness for me at that party!

Hils74 · 03/12/2010 13:06

Thank you ladies, was a bit worried that AF was 2 wks early! How soon can I do a test if showing symptoms but not due for 2 wks?

Arabella36 · 03/12/2010 13:23

Hi Hils, first response is 6 days before period is due. But obviously it is more likely to pick it up closer to your period. Still though, it can't give you a false positive so the worst it can do is waste your money! And encourage obsessiveness Xmas Grin

tallulahpolly · 04/12/2010 07:25

Hello, may I join you friendly lot?
DH and I started ttc in november. Been on the pill for nearly 20 years so am worried about what it has done to my insides! We also havn't told anyone so I am dying to chat about it with people who understand. good luck to all Smile

asouthwoldmummy · 04/12/2010 09:01

Hi tallulah. My sister took 2 months to conceive after 15 years on the pill if that reassures you a little.

Any more symptoms hils?

OP posts:
Hils74 · 04/12/2010 14:30

I did feel queasy this morning but could have been the wine I drank last night, still keeping up the pretence of everything being normal!

Tallulah, same situation here, came off the pill after 20 years, in 3rd month of ttc, and its very hard not telling anyone

tallulahpolly · 06/12/2010 18:13

Thanks southwold, that is reasuring. I know everyone is different but I am secretly hoping for good news at christmas! possibly a bit optimistic!

chocolatebuttontheif · 06/12/2010 21:18

That would be a great Christmas present.

We were meant to DTD tonight but DS is ill, neither DH nor I got any sleep last night. DH is now asleep next to me on the sofa so I guess we'll be missing a day. Thankfully i haven't had a positive OPK yet!

chocolatebuttontheif · 06/12/2010 21:31

Previously asouthwoldmummy. Sorry, I forgot i'd namechanged!

Hils74 · 07/12/2010 18:45

POAS tonight but got a BFN, 6 days before AF expected so will do another one in 4 days just in case but its looking unlikely this month.

Not a bad thing I suppose as it means I can enjoy myself over xmas :)

GrownupsLikeQuiet · 07/12/2010 21:22

Hello Tallula.

Not been on for a few days - DCs and DH been poorly and now I have tonsillitis. Only DTD once this month so not much chance haha

louby86 · 07/12/2010 22:22

Hello everyone! I saw this thread and wondered if I could join you all? I came off the pill a couple of weeks ago after getting married in the summer and we're hoping to have a baby sometime next year, not sure how long it will take, I'm trying not to get too carried away!

chocolatebuttontheif · 07/12/2010 22:45

Sorry hils, don't rule it out just yet though!

Hi louby, you're in the same position as me, I've been off the pill for 2 weeks as well.

louby86 · 07/12/2010 22:51

That's cool, it's really nice to know there's someone in the same place as me! Makes me feel loads better! Especially because I'm not really talking to anyone else about it either other than the hubby!

chocolatebuttontheif · 09/12/2010 20:26

It's probably a stupid question, but can anyone tell me if spotting is a sign of ovulation?

I had a little spotting earlier, but as I'm only halfway through my first month of ttc it's very very unlikely that I could be pregnant! If nothing to do with ovulation could it be anything to do with changes re coming off the pill?

Also opk was negative today.

louby86 · 09/12/2010 20:32

It can be sometimes, yes. I'm still waiting for AF after coming off the pill. Had really bad cramps last weekend and nosebleeds for a couple of days, but no sign of anything else!
