Hi all,
I just went to post on the old thread and noticed it had been locked, so here is a new one!
Come on in!

OP posts:
NookNook · 21/03/2011 20:36

Congratulations Keziah!

All Just a quick (rather boring) question...

How long should downregging go on for? Mine seems to be about 2 and a half weeks. Is that normal?

Italiangreyhound · 21/03/2011 22:31

Keziah whoop whoop. Wow, great.
Helen

womanlytales · 22/03/2011 11:04

Congrats Keziah. Am due for insemination tomorrow / had my Ovitrelle shot last night.

greenygrassy · 22/03/2011 12:39

Hi,

I was hoping that one of you lovely ladies might be able to point me in the direction of a good clinic in london that will do preliminary investigations for me, particularly with respect to luteal phase.

Also, has anyone been to CRGH and are they good? Many thanks.

shirleycat1 · 22/03/2011 13:31

Hey all,

Keziah - good luck. I have everything crossed for you. How exciting.

Womanly - how you doing? Has the shot done it's thing? What's the next step? How you feeling?

Nook - my down reg has always been 2-2 1/2 weeks. How you feeling? Are you ready for the off? How's the injections been going?

Womanly- your plan re exercise sounds sensible and will hopefully keep you sane. How are things with you now?

Late - congratulations. Twins - wow. That is so cool. Well done you.

My news is weird. I've still not got af so planned to do period inducing drugs yesterday but had to do pregnancy test first which came out.... positive. Very weirded out. Am so scared. So many what ifs going on in my head. Got a scan on Thursday to have a see what's going on. Don't feel pregnant at all. Too weird. Please send me some positive vibes...

Teds77 · 22/03/2011 13:53

Hello lovely ladies, I'm hoping you might be able to help someone just starting out on the assisted route...

Our GP has said she will refer us to a ACU and said it was up to us to choose which one. Keen to give the NHS a go to save pennies and didn't know if you had any tips. I think the nearest would be Guys or Kings - do you know anything about either of these? Thanks x.

lateatwork · 22/03/2011 14:05

Keziah- good luck with the beans on board.

shirley- wooo hooo bfp. well done!

and to the ladies asking about clinic choices... i am at argc. bloody expensive. but for my profile, offered the highest sucess rates. fertilityfriends has lots of info on diff clinics too...

womanlytales · 22/03/2011 14:21

Shirley Congrats and well done. I took the shot last night and am due for insemination tomorrow at 1pm. Am struggling to focus at work or anything else really - LOL.

Keziahhopes · 22/03/2011 14:44

Shirley - congrats, hope your scan gives you reassurance next week!

I have my one embryo on board now, but cried today when found my others not good enough to freeze.... good enough to put in me apparently but not to freeze or defrost. I feel they have been wasted, and as this one was only at early stage blast they didn't grade it so it may not be "good enough" to use the embryonologists terms. So not looking forward to rest of 2ww - wish I was at work now to distract as 2weeks on my own pretty much (dh is an eternal optimist - if it was up to him we would still be ttc naturally despite nothing after many years and our old ages!!).

shirleycat1 · 22/03/2011 17:07

Thanks everyone. I am so nervous and also finding it hard to concentrate on anything.

Keziah - try to stay positive - I know it's hard. They know what they're doing that medical lot (I hope). Fingers crossed and don't be disheartened about no frozen ones - it is actually pretty rare that people get embryos to freeze. Have you got any distraction plans for your 2ww?

Womanly - good luck for tomorrow. Hope you sleep tonight.

pumpkinjoy · 22/03/2011 19:00

Hi everyone

Shirley What exciting news-Hope the scan goes well

Kesiah Well done on your emby-Try and spoil yourself and do nice things to distract you through the 2ww.

Well, just wanted to update-2nd IUI failed unfortunately. I was so upset on monday and am finding it really hard to focus on anything else. We said we would try one more IUI but since we have reached the top of list for IVF on NHS, I am thinking just go for this option. The odds are so much higher-we have an appt on friday anyway so will discuss details.

Am just so fed up and sorry for myself-What if IVF doesn't work? Sometimes I feel like I'm never going to get there and then from somewhere pull myself back up again. Sorry for the "Woe betide me post". Think it's time for a Wine Wine evening.

Keziahhopes · 22/03/2011 22:18

pumpkin - sorry about that IUI. I know the results and odds are much higher for IVF than IUI so if you are so soon to have an appointment is sounds like a good idea.
Can't cheer you up - despite having one embryo survive to be transferred I am feeling fed up and sorry for myself too! And it is hard when I read of others having multiple frosties, 2 put back etc - as this is it for us. Wine sounds a very good idea!! It is bizarre, am in 2ww and feeling so low.

Italiangreyhound · 22/03/2011 22:28

shirleycat1 Congratulations, all the best for the scan. May it all be very straight forward and wonderful.

Keziah try and be positive sweetie. I think the grading system is about freezing and unfreezing as well as what would be a good embryo so if they have already popped one in, then just give that one your attention and try not to worry. I can only imagine how you feel, when we had donated eggs before we ended up with three embryos and on the day they put two in the third one did not make it. I felt very sad for the one that did not make it! So I do understand a bit of how you feel but I think just be positive, be kind to yourself and we will hope for the best for two weeks time. HUGS! Grin

Teds77 and greenygrassyWelcome. I can?t tell you about the clinics in your area or any you mention as I know nothing about them but The HFEA should have information on these clinics and their latest stats, if that will help you make your decision. Their website is www.hfea.gov.uk/

womanlytales thinking of you.

Italiangreyhound · 22/03/2011 22:29

Arrow prayers to us all.

Thinking of all you wonderful women and sending baby-dust .... and tea.... Brew Brew

FlipFantasia · 23/03/2011 08:58

Shirley congrats on your pregnancy!! Wonderful news! Having gotten a natural BFP myself recently I know it's a surreal and scary thing, but it's still something to celebrate! Good luck for Thursday. I've got a scan next week (I'm 6 weeks today) and am counting down the days until then...oh I also don't feel pregnant. But I didn't with DS either so am trying not to worry too much

Keziah congrats on your ET! Great news that you're currently PUPO
(I love that expression Smile). I also felt sad about our embies that didn't make it, but my doctor had emphasised that freezing is really rare, especially if you get to blast. Although we had two blasts transferred one was OK and one was quite poor - the other two didn't make it (we also had to wait a day to hear if they would make it). Also, don't forget that your womb is the best place for that blast. No embryologist is as good as your womb for helping that little embie burrow down and grow! Take it easy on yourself for the tww. Have you got any nice pampering or days out that could help take your mind off things?

pumpkin sorry to hear that IUI didn't work. Hope the app on Friday goes well. IVF is really not as bad as people make out, so it may be worth just going straight for it if you're at the top of the list.

womanlytales · 23/03/2011 16:52

Keziah, I am also hopeful like others, and have thing crossed for u. This is very hard, I know. Finished with my insemination this afternoon and feel really sore. It's now waiting time till Apr 8 when I get to test. Have no idea if I have ovulated and the clinic isn't monitoring that. Also no idea about Progesterone levels either since I haven't ovulated in over a year.. despite clomid and ovitrelle... so no idea if I have a luteal phase issue or not... still am doing alp that I am aware of, the rest is in the hands of someone up there. Let's keep the faith ladies and totally hear the others on treating ourselves nicely.

shirleycat1 · 24/03/2011 12:43

Hi everyone.

Pumpkin - I'm so sorry. How shit is that? Are you going to go for IVF? I would agree with Flip that it's not as bad as it is sometimes made out to be.

Flip - how you feeling? When's your scan? It's so weird isn't it?

Womanly - Good luck. I have everything crossed for you.

Keziah - how are you feeling? Are you keeping busy? At least the sun's been shining.

I had my scan today. I am 5 weeks and 2 days. I saw the sack and a "shadow" of a heartbeat and the little dot where a baby will hopefully grow. I'm still in shock a bit. It was so unexpected. It has always been made pretty clear that I could not ever get pregnant naturally. I am nervous now, but feeling pretty positive. I've got another scan in 2 weeks time and if that is all as it should be I'll be saying goodbye to ACU, hopefully for ever. Wow. Please keep your fingers crossed for me.

Hope everyone is OK... x

Keziahhopes · 24/03/2011 13:54

Shirley - gosh that was an early scan, how amazing that you got pregnant naturally! hope the next scan shows you the heartbeat and baby more clearly! You will have a lovely set of photos!

The sunshine is lovely x

FlipFantasia · 24/03/2011 17:55

Shirley congrats on the scan! Sounds like you saw loads for such an early scan. I'll keep my fingers crossed you have a November baby too! Hope the days pass quickly until your next scan.

NookNook · 24/03/2011 23:00

Shirley Huge congratulations!! Also thanks for the downreg info.

Pumpkin I agree with the others - IVF (so far!) not as bad as it first seems!

Keziah how are you doing?

bluishmist · 26/03/2011 17:25

Hi, this is my first post here, but i'm driving myself crazy here and could do with some advice.

I'm 12 dpo today, had 2 3 day embryos transferred, and got a faintish BFP on a test from the 99p shop 11dpo.

My breasts were hurting on day 10, but then stopped yesterday.
Got BFN this morning on same brand as before and also on First Response.

Now i having having light spotting, or I guess possibly the beginning of my period. Also my breasts are starting to hurt again.

Presumably this was a chemical preg, but do you think there is any possibly the other embryo implanted subsequently?

Or am I just holding out false hope and should accept the fact it hasn't worked?

TIA

Keziahhopes · 26/03/2011 18:03

Hi Bluishmist - am afraid I know nothing about testing (am 10 dpo and too scared to test yet, with one embryo) - but hope the reesult change on your OTD. Could the 11dpo result be the trigger shot drugs or whatever you used still in your system and the bfn be because still too early? Hope so

Am doing ok, kept calm all week, swing from positive (at least I had ivf) to oh no, no symptoms etc.

LissySilver · 26/03/2011 18:37

Hello ladies. Just wanted to let you know that I'm still lurking, and wishing everyone positive vibes and sticky baby dust. Heading to LA and Hawaii early tomorrow morning, and once back, starting new cycle.

Will definitely name check when I come back, but in the meantime, I hope everyone gets their BFP!

Keziahhopes · 26/03/2011 19:50

hope you have a lovely time - very jealous of the Hawaii bit!! x

Keziahhopes · 29/03/2011 16:15

Pink blood here today, not due to test til Sunday - mother's day! Not looking forward to this one, why does it have to be such a day for my OTD - a sad reminder forever now. Sad
