Hi all,
I just went to post on the old thread and noticed it had been locked, so here is a new one!
Come on in!

Hi all,

Nook cool news! So what's the plan? Which day of your cycle are you starting the injections?

Deli I was advised to take a couple of days off for ec. I had work the following day and the nurse said she thought I shouldn't go. I can't remember if I did or not. EC is the more stressful physically because of the anaesthetic, the abdominal discomfort. Your ovaries are still enlarged and you want rest them and be in the best possible condition for the embryo transfer.
Take the extra day off. After transfer, if you feel OK you could go back to work. It really is a stroll in the park after ec.
A few women who went to my local clinic took off a couple of weeks for their first IVFs and went stir-crazy, but the following time I remember at least two went back to work and had bfps.
Sending positive vibes to you and the eggies, have you heard how many fertilised yet?

delilahbelle · 02/03/2011 19:45

Hi rowing

Nope, I've not heard anything yet. Have been told to expect a phone call tomorrow between half 8 and 10.. Eek. If one or two fertilise we will have the transfer tomorrow, if all three fertilise we will go for a day 3 transfer and pick the best two on Friday. I am trying not to think about how I would feel if none fertilise. Treatment is so stressful!

Nook, hi, thanks for the welcome, good luck with your treatment.

at everyone else.

rowingboat · 02/03/2011 21:59

Hi all,
Deli I have everything crossed for you.
Don't even let that bad thought enter your head, it won't make any difference to the outcome and there's no point getting all upset before you know. Those embryos don't want a stressed mummy! Big deep breath! Smile

I've just heard from the lady at my clinic and I'm scanning and emailing my blood tests over to them.
They expect test results to be no more than 6 months old so I'm hoping that if I send them now, even if I am a bit over the 6 months, they might not mind.

Hi Rowing - I start on day 21 - is that normal?

Good luck with your clinic!

Deli - I will be checking the thread tomorrow for news! So exciting.

I'm just playing (another) waiting game now! I think I need a hobby - any suggestions?!

Italian - how's everything with you?

Big wave to everyone else!

Italiangreyhound · 03/03/2011 00:21

delilahbelle · 03/03/2011 10:01

:) 2 embryos, one grade A/B, the other grade B are going to be replaced this afternoon. Now the 2ww begins...!

Thanks for the PMA, I needed it!

Good luck to everyone else.

Cerubina · 03/03/2011 11:37

Hi all

I thought I would drop in and update those who remember me that I had my twins on Saturday night. They were 8 weeks early and delivered by emcs because I began bleeding quite heavily, it seems because of a placental abruption. Fortunately I'd already been given some steroids the day before to help their lungs develop in case of early arrival, after apparently starting to go into labour. So they were really keen to come out!

As they were early they are still in hospital and will be for a while, but they are adorable and we are so happy to have them. Their names are Sebastian and Rosamund (Rosie) and their weights at birth were 3lb 4oz and 3lb 9oz respectively. Seb needs a bit more help than Rosie at the moment but the doctors say both are doing really well. There are some pictures on my profile page if you are interested.

Anyway, this is all made possible by the fantastic team at Guy's ACU and we couldn't be more grateful to them, and now to the neonatal teams at St George's hospital. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have been successful with our first cycle of ICSI in August, and wish all of you ladies on this thread as much luck and happiness for yourselves in your journeys. Thanks to all who were around to support and encourage me while it was going on - it helped hugely!

All the best,

Cerub

rowingboat · 03/03/2011 12:44

Hi all,

Cerubina what fantastic news! Welcome Seb and Rosie, keep up the good work you little tots! Their pictures made me cry, they are so gorgeous. I hope you are managing to get a bit of rest when you can, just to keep the hallucinations at bay.Smile Well done to you! Hugs to all three of you!

Deli that's fantastic news. Two embryos and good quality, that's great! Is transfer today?

Nook I think I started my protocol on day 3, it can be either day 3 or day 21, can't remember exactly why that is. I will google it later.

Oh no! I have to scan those document and I haven't used the scanner before. Groan!

Italiangreyhound · 03/03/2011 23:43

Hi all,

Waves
Italian, how are you?

OP posts:
delilahbelle · 04/03/2011 17:41

Hi rowing

I had two transfered yesterday afternoon and am now PUPO (horribly twee phrase, but it makes me smile) Now the 2WW and associated madness begins..

Hope you got the scanner sorted, and your blood tests were accepted. The amount of blood these clinics want..!

Nook - I started down regging on day 21 of my cycle. Good luck with yours x

Keziahhopes · 04/03/2011 20:02

Cerub, your photos of your twins are adorable - glad they are doing well.

Delilah - congrats on your 2 embies transferrred.

LissySilver · 05/03/2011 13:39

Hi ladies!

Cerubina-Many congrats on the birth of your twins. Love the names! May you be happy and healthy and not too sleep deprived...

Delilah-Good luck on your 2WW. The best advice I was given was to keep yourself occupied and try not to dwell. Rest and relax, it's the best thing you can do for yourself.

Nook-Lovely that you're getting started. Don't be nervous, it's all going to be worth it.

rowing-At least you have a plan of action. No mad rushing about for flight changes and whatnot. April will be here before you know it, and then you'll SO be ready...

AFM, I got a nasty surprise on Tuesday, when I went to the GP with stomach pain. He sent me to A and E, and I wound up having my appendix taken out! I just got home yesterday afternoon. Luckily, this happened before A)Hawaii, and B)starting fertility treatments. Now I have to rest up and get my strength back. Boy, it really takes it out of you!

Hugs and sticky baby dust to everyone!

Keziahhopes · 05/03/2011 14:49

Ooh Lissy that sounds a very nasty surprise, but like you said it could have been worse timing! Hoping you can rest well, to recover.

I am not stimming - boy, awful headache despite more water than I thought possible to drink - and have my first scan next week.

Italiangreyhound · 06/03/2011 12:49

delilahbelle wow wonderful news Grin Grin What does PUPO mean?

Lissy oohh sorry to hear about the appendix but good to get it out of the way now. Hope you will recover very soon.

Nook greetings and all best wishes.

Horton how are you?

Keziah All the very best. Thinking of you.

Rowing How are you?
I am fine. My period came back and that was a real boost. I have not given up hope for a new baby in the next few months (I mean a BFP in the next few months) but if it does not happen by the summer I think we will just have to lay that particular dream down and look into adoption or not as we feel right,

I have edited my local NCT newsletter for the last three years (plus) and I have finally decided to given the committee notice. It is huge step for me. It is a chance to move on. If we get a new baby we will not need to volunteer left right and centre as we have and if no baby then I can move on relatively painlessly. Not sure if that makes sense but it foes to me.

I'm now reading Overcoming Overeating: It's Not What You Eat, It's What's Eating You! by Lisa Morrone.

It is really brilliant.

Italiangreyhound · 06/03/2011 12:50

Sorry that should be but it DOES for me not it foes for me!

delilahbelle · 06/03/2011 18:50

Italiangreyhound Pregnant Until Proven Otherwise

Lissy Hope you recover swiftly, at least it was before treatment!

Keziah Hopefully all that water will do some good.

rowing Hope you are doing well.

AFM - 5 days since egg collection. 2 more days and I will be into the 1ww. Having a few random pains, but I think it's probably just the brusing and swelling from EC and ET.

My clinic wants us to test 2 weeks after egg transfer but that is so not going to happen - I have 3 tests upstairs calling to be and will be happy if I can hold out to day 11!

pumpkinjoy · 07/03/2011 10:35

Hello everyone-I would love to join you if I may? I joined last year but then decided to take a MN break (is that allowed?) Have been checking in on you though from the sidelines!

Did finally get my first BFP last september after 2 1/2 years TTC-DH fine, they have found I have short luteal phase. Had x2 attempts IUI one with just clomid and the next with clomid and progesterone injections (after they discovered short LP-only took 2 1/2 years) first month the two meds were put together it was successful. Unfortunately had a MMC and then an ERPC on 29th october at 10 weeks. Absolutely gutted and it is very hard to deal with.

Am now trying again with gusto-IUI again today. Feel down but know it has to be done and if produces a good outcome then it will all be worth it. Was given ovitrelle yesterday after a scan which showed 3 large follicles-I only normally produce one. On to injections tomorrow night.

Sorry to go on and on-ME, ME, ME!

You all sound like you've been through so much and take comfort in the support of each other. Feels like a nice place to be. Speak soon I hope.

shirleycat1 · 07/03/2011 20:26

Hello everyone,

Not checked in for a while, but it looks like loads has been going on.

Rowing: How did your clinic appointment go?

Italian: Sounds like you're being pretty sensible and have seriously thought through all your issues. Don't give up hope - there's always options.

Lissy: What a nightmare. How are you recovering. Anesthetic totally takes it out of you doesn't it. Hope you're feeling better and have been able to get some R and R.

Keziah: How's stimming? Have you had a scan yet?

Deliah: What day are we on now?

Waves to everyone else who I'm not name checking and sorry to be so ignorant!

I'm OK. Still waiting for AF. Expecting it in the next day or 2 and will then start down regging. Feeling in mixed minds about it, but definitely more apprehensive and less keen and excited than last time. I need to remember it's worked before, I'm still only 30, I'm healthy and whatever happens me and dp and ds are very happy. Continuing with acupuncture and it's been nice having that time to zone out for a change. Will keep you updated and please send me positive vibes...

delilahbelle · 08/03/2011 07:40

Hey all

I am now 5 days post transfer, 7dpo.
Having a bit of a wobble, as I don't feel at all different. Logically I know it is too early... But...
I've also managed to pick up a sore throat/cold from somewhere, and I am having hot flushes. Not sure whether I am running a temp due to the germs, or whether this is the normal hot flushes I get pre AF. :(

Sorry for the mememe whinge, but it's either get it out on her or burst into tears.. Meh, I want to fast forward a week.

shirleycat1 · 08/03/2011 08:37

Deliah - poor you. It is such a stressful time isn't it. And you just spend your entire time looking for signs one way or the other and I think your mind really plays tricks on you as well. The best thing is to try and get your mind of it somehow, but I know that is seriously hard. Not long to go. I've got my fingers crossed for you. Come and rant here whenever you need to...

NookNook · 08/03/2011 23:15

Welcome Pumpkin!

Delilah - Perfectly understandable to have a wobble! What a long time it must seem! Hang in there.

Shirleycat positive vibes!!

DoeADeer · 09/03/2011 12:00

Hi everyone,

May I join you? I've just come over from another thread as I was told you guys are a really nice bunch! And it seems I'm kind of in the same boat, as it were.

I've just started by 4th IVF cycle - no success yet - but I'm still hopeful. I can totally relate to Delilahbelle - I become a bit obsessed in the 2ww and can't stop reading about other people's pregnancy symptoms to see if I'm having them too!

This time around I'm trying to do things differently to see if it might help getting a BFP. So I've started acupunture, which does seem to have some nice relaxing effects so I'm burying my scepticism and keeping with it. And I'm also increasing my protein intake even though I'm not sure this is really necessary. Today I drank a whole litre of milk. I'm sat here looking a the empty bottle and wondering if that was really a good idea......
