Settle down girls settle down as I hand you all a yummy pornstar cocktail complete with a sparkler and tacky umbrella. I take it we are all wearing our fabulous vintage 50's frocks, high heels and have our red lipstick on? Make yourself comfortable in the penthouse... the naked butlers are just heading in with grapes and truffles in trays...

All new first timers welcome - as long as suitable goodies and alcohol are dropped into the penthouse for all to share.

Oh and no AF around here - only FERTD.... Capishe??

You next lanky Wink I am hoping that CBFM will still be in its wrapper and in eBay within the month!

The Wire is FAB. The accents are a bit tricky but you learn to understand tham after about half an hour? I did anyway. They are really cheap on Amazon too.

And the job is borrrrrrrring. If I couldn't read/watch TV on my PC I would go insane. But holding out for maternity pay... otherwise I would probably start looking for something else.

roamie the email from Mr Roam made me well up! xx

crazybutterflylady · 01/09/2010 09:28

Hmm perhaps I should spend my spare time at work brushing up on my typing skills... sorry for all the typos! x

kkas · 01/09/2010 10:22

congrats roam and kurly so happy for you Grin

JosieSmith1 · 01/09/2010 10:22

Ha ha Bellaby, I was waiting for you to get to that bit as I complained about it on here when I reached it too! Didn?t want to spoil it for you so didn?t mention it.

Highheels that is ridiculous and you should absolutely complain and ask them what to do now! How can they leave something so important so late!

Crazybutterflylady I will say hi to geordieland for you Grin

Congrats to Roamfree and Kurly [happy] [happy]

Cavemum that website is great, I will be flicking over every now and again.

I did the most unimaginably cruel thing to DH last night! After complaining that we have to SWI this week and convincing him that he had to no matter what, he was all up for it and ready (read lying naked on bed Blush) but as we?d just got in, it was 8pm and I?d had no tea and was hungry, I told him he?d have to wait until we?d had tea, and then we could have an early night so we could just go to sleep after! Needless to say he, ahem, ?deflated? pretty quick Grin Blush. Anyway, he got it in the end and it was gooooood (TMI Blush). We were lying in bed afterwards and I just said to DH ?same time tomorrow?, which made us both laugh, but he agreed, and not at all reluctantly. We laughed loads this time so I made good on my promise that it?d be fun!

felicityFlick · 01/09/2010 10:34

OMG!!! Just seen your news kurly EEEEEEEEKKKKK SO thrilled for you honey!! Especially after all you've been through. You must promise me something though lady... YOU HAVE TO COME BACK AND KEEP US UPDATED!!! no going AWOL again cos I've been missing you and I want to know what's going on!!

Had to post this before I read anything else as I couldn't take any other posts in :) back to read the rest of your news!

What a great day for the Frolickers- September is going to be an awesome month for us, I can feel it in me waters!

xx

JosieSmith1 · 01/09/2010 10:48

Oh my god Cavemum I am having to try reeeeaaaally hard not to laugh out loud at some of those names! Everyone is looking at me funny as I'm trying not to laugh but my whole body is shaking trying to keep it in! Grin Grin

gardenpixie · 01/09/2010 11:10

Wowsers frolickers you have been busy - 2 BFPs!!!

Enormous congratulations to roam and kurly that's such great news all round!

Tomboy how is your DH? Hope the appt went well?

Florin hope your DH is on the mend too

Highheels I am very Angry on your behalf. That is an utterly crap way to behave towards someone who is TTC-ing. Also it is totally unreasonable to expect someone who has irregular cycles to predict three months in advance when their first two weeks will be. Ridiculous. I definitely think you should complain and ask the consultant how he suggests you work out when to go for an HSG.

Well my scan was disappointing - no sign of any egg ready to come out. Which was odd given that I was prescribed clomid because my ovulation was irregular but not absent. So not sure what's going on really.

Have been given a prescription for a higher dose but I think I had better luck with old Agnus TBH so might just keep going with that.

Feel a bit sad that all our SWI-ing has been totally useless as I thought we had cracked it in terms of timings.

At least the consultant didn't joke about me being a man this time so that was good!

Hope everyone is well and enjoying a sunny Wednesday xx

felicityFlick · 01/09/2010 11:20

Phew- have calmed down a bit now.

This thread is so wonderful- the two BFPs and all of your loveliness have really cheered me up a treat.

I actually think I?d go mad without the Frolickers to vent too- either that or I?d be divorced /friendless/sacked/carted off!

Ok crazy, seeing as you?ve been so nice to me today I will let you know the names I like! Girls. I have a million but current faves are Sylvie, Iris, Nancy, Mabel, Mavis,Nora. SO MANY! My boy?s choice is a bit strange but me and Mr. F love it, don?t know why- it?s Leonard. Mr. Flick likes all of the girls names but even when I bully him and say ?yeah but, which one is your favourite? he still says they?re all nice which annoys me! My Mum?s a geordie so I have a soft spot for them too :) Means I love you and josie even more. Your DH sounds funny! There are so many cheap used ones on ebay but I have to admit I didnt want to wee on one that had already had wee in it! Don?t know why cos obviously if it?s being sold it obviously works right?! and it?s not like you actually wee on it...

Glad I entertain you in the mornings bella :) I always like to read your posts too. Thanks for your frustration on my behalf!I think that?s the annoying thing as I felt confident that they had settled down before my holiday. Mr. Flick says that they were settled before we went on holiday so they will settle again, just give it time. How annoying is that?! Even though he is right, which actually makes it more annoying! :) I?m keeping everything crossed that you don?t need to make that doctors appointment at the end of this month. You have been putting in the hard graft with all that SWI so there is no reason why this is not your month.

Great job on the PSF?s lanky. As you don?t have your CBFM you will have to just ?KEEEEEP SHAGGING! I meant to ask you this morning whether you have any more thyroid tests or check ups coming up soon? I?m a bit thick and I didn?t find the accents on The Wire too much of a problem :) I am taking a break from it at the min until we finish Mad Men season 2 and then will get stuck back into the wire. The only thing that I found with the first few episodes is that they seem really long as they are an hour and I?m used to watching 45 minute things once all of the adverts are taken out for DVD. Attention span of a flea me!

Hiya raspberry nice to see you back. Def get a CBFM :) and like lanky said you can get them on amazon or I got mine from a wholesaler place on ebay.

Sorry you are having a crap day too cherry :( Stay positive, you know that FERTD symptoms are the same as BFP ones so am keeping everything crossed for you. I used my CBFM when I was staying at my parents and my pils and no one appeared to notice anything out of the ordinary although I have to agree about SWI?ing with the parents/pils being in close vicinity is a little off putting! Fingers crossed you wont need it though :)

Oh garden I?m sorry you had disappointing news at your scan :( Did they say when you should go back or give you any signs of when you might ovulate?Perhaps you are just going to ovulate a bit later on as it is only day 12 isn?t it?It doesn?t mean you won?t be pregnant this cycle sweet, like you said- your ovulation has been irregular, not absent so there is no reason for you not to ovulate this month.

I had better go as Mr. Flick is taking me out for a mid week dinner. We are going to an all your can eat Tapas place- it is bloody lovely! He is behaving strangely, if we weren?t already married I?d be thinking he was going to propose! or perhaps he is just being extra nice cos I?ve been such a moody grump?!

Love to you all xxx

Toriajayne · 01/09/2010 11:29

Roam and Kurly What a great way to sart the month! Huge cograts for you both Grin Def a lucky thread methinks Grin

Highheels What an absolute farce, I second the phoning/writing/visiting and going mental route. That really is unacceptable. I sometimes wonder why people go into health care if they don't give a flying toss about helping people! My mum is a nurse and midwife and some of the stories she tells me about people (usually women oddly enough) she has worked with have put me right off the NHS, unfortunately we can't afford to go private.

Flick I'm feeling somewhat better, in that I'm no no longer dying but still not 100%, my appt is at 2 so will see what they say, there are some nasty bugs going about atm so good chance I've had one of them and they'll just tell me to see how I go, wanted to talk to them about TTC as well so it's a two birds, one stone kinda deal :) You must be a saint btw, if my MIL got stuck here with me for two weeks after having already been here for two weeks I would surely have to kill her dead...

Crazy We don't get away with reading at work but we do spend the first hour-hour and a half drinking coffee in the office unless anyone comes in :)

Happy Wednesday to everyone else!

Toriajayne · 01/09/2010 11:34

Missed your post there Garden (my internet is in a funk this morning) Sorry for the disappointing scan, echo Flick, maybe it's still to come and your body is just playing tricks on you? Re Agnes, I'd be tempted to say do what feels best for you chick.

haloflo · 01/09/2010 11:48

Congrats roam - we haven't "met" but i'm glad the luck of this thread got you first time!

Congrats to kurly also - those free tests from duo fertility are certainly lucky!! (what i used!) Smile Come join us on the grads whenever you feel ready. We have all been there in the anxious first few weeks and will hold your hand if you want us to!

Grin
LankyLegs · 01/09/2010 11:52

Garden sorry about your news. Is there any chance you might be ovulating later? Or is it certain that you won't now? I can imagine it must be quite frustrating putting all that effort in knowing that clomid is hopefully doing its thing. So what is next for you - another round on a higher dose? Hope you are ok my dear.

Crazy you are very sweet - am hoping that it is our month but who knows right? Been so long now almost seems impossible! Have resigned to living the normal life again though so not to disappoint myself too much. I agree with sticking around for the mat pay - seems silly to look for a new job now. I am actually a freelance consultant so wont be getting any maternity pay or even holidays etc! I work from client to client on projects - but the plus side is that the pay is much better as you get taxed less and working on a day rate is a lot more lucrative. MrLanky however holds down a permanent job so that we have security that way. The idea is that I then maybe work on 1 project a year (after babies are born) and then can be home for 6 months - but will see how that works out to be honest. Sometimes it can be quite stressful trying to deliver projects on time. But I refuse to go back and work for a management consultancy where I was based all over the place and was never at home Mon-Fri - hated that. To be honest right now I would love to stay at home with the babies and start my upholstery business or even a cake baking business!! Who knows what will happen!!

So the wire is good huh - will defo have to get my hands on the box set then. I too have the attention span of a goldfish so will see how that pans out!

Flick hope you have a lovely dinner - mmm tapas! Yum Yum! I need to book in for another blood test to check thyroid levels on the new dose - but they like to leave it 6 weeks to see the effects before they change your dose again. So will have too see what the are like in a few weeks time. I also have another scan on the 15th to make sure the cysts they saw last time are normal and disappeared. God - why is this whole TTC thing so complicated?! Have you got any signs of ERTD yet? Well done for staying upbeat and positive.. can imagine you are going stir crazy at times - I would be.

Josie you crack me up with your stories! Glad the SWI did happen at some point though!! Like flick I think I would die if my DH saw what I was writing on here sometimes!

crazybutterflylady · 01/09/2010 12:08

garden that's very frustrating news. Will you stop talking the Clomid while you go back on the AC? Hopefully you are just having a longer cycle than usual?

flick those names are cute! Would you use Leo or keep it full - and would it be pronounced Le-o-nard or Lennard? My nephew is called Leon and I love that too. I thoguht you might have had a bit of northerner going on when you said "I can feel it in me water" Wink

Lanky you sound so focussed about work/babies etc, it's really admirable that you have thought it all through. If we move I am thinking I wouldn't come back to work in town if I had a baby, maybe work nearer home a few days or something, just for pocket money. But these things are very fluid, especially since not even near a BFP yet! I would LOVE to open a florist Grin that's my dream I think.

I have read all morning. Hmmm, what could I watch on tv now...

xx

crazybutterflylady · 01/09/2010 12:14

talking taking... sorry!

LankyLegs · 01/09/2010 12:18

Crazy sounds like a plan - florist would be lovely! I Hope to do the same - guess it depends how much childcare v working would be as well - sometimes there is not financial benefit in working if you have to pay through the nose for childcare. I certainly would do something - but am trying to focus on popping put the 3 babies for now!

Hope you find something entertaining to do for the afternoon. I have mountains of project plans and documents to get through :(

Bellaby · 01/09/2010 12:23

kurly well done to you. Great news and glad you are back xxx

crazy you will have to ket me know what you think of Flashforward as it's one I am thinking about buying. I too am a complete box set addict. Which others do you like?

lanky you make me feel guilty for not going to the gym! The Wire does have very strong accents so it takes a few episodes to be able to understand them but after that it adds to the series and makes it more realistic. Definitely give it a go

CaveMum · 01/09/2010 12:27

Hello ladies, I'm posting from a queue in the Post Office so will keep it brief.

Just wanted to say massive congrats to Kurly! I must say you've given me hope as your cycles have been crazier than mine!

Must dash but will pop back later. I'm having dinner with PinkLady tonight so will see what her news is as I see she is verging on POAS territory!

evilgiraffe · 01/09/2010 12:27

Hey all, just checking in. Still nothing happening (yet) with me, so I think it's probably a good idea to stop counting the days - it's pretty meaningless now, eh? If whoever updates the list next could move me to the "not counting days" section, I'd appreciate it! As soon as ERTD is back I'll rejoin the "real" list and start posting on here properly once more

Best of luck to all! :)

crazybutterflylady · 01/09/2010 12:44

Bellaby I am loving flashforward! I really thought I wouldn't as I never got into Lost and I hated Heroes, but I am really enjoying it.

Another one you should look at (if you like Friends) is How I Met Your Mother. FAB!!! You have to watch from the start though - cheap on amazon again. Oh and Cougar Town, though that's not out till the end of the month.

And my all time fave is The West Wing. Love love love. Oh and 24, obviously.

I haven't seen Mad Men yet but am going to give it a try once Dexter and Flash Forward are done Grin

I am a tv geek Blush

Lanky want to send me some work? I'll do anything Hmm

CaveMum · 01/09/2010 13:11

crazy I'm with you. I love How I Met Your Mother and also The West Wing!

I'm also addicted to House (though haven't caught up with the latest series yet), Scrubs and The Big Bang Theory.

The West Wing is what I watch whe I am ill. I get out of bed, onto the sofa under my duvet and watch episdodes back to back! I just love that the writers never dumbed down the political speak, you are just expected to understand and get on with it! In fact I think I almost understand how the US elections work now!
I read an article a few years ago that said Matt Santos was based on Barak Obama and Josh Lyman was based on Obama's now Chief of Staff Rahm Emmanuel.

However, that all said Buffy the Vampire Slayer is my geek thing guilty pleasure Blush

crazybutterflylady · 01/09/2010 13:19

Yes definitely! And when we had the hung parliament here it reminded me of a similar episode in TWW where Barlett went up to the Hill to sort it out in person :) remember that one? I didn't know that about Santos but it makes sense now. I love Josh! And I cried when Leo died!

I have the first series of House at home, unopened. Should I open then?

JosieSmith1 · 01/09/2010 13:37

I haven't watched any of those but loooooved Dexter!

I also like Buffy Angel Legend of the Seeker Smallville anything going really! Grin

cherrycobbler · 01/09/2010 13:45

Ooh now have lots of box sets to add to amazon list! My DH loved flashforward but I've not watched it. Current guilty pleasure is 30 Rock. Silly sitcom - but Alec Baldwin is comic genius in it (if you have a very silly sense of humour like me...)

Hello evilg! hope you're ok - am on phone so can't update sorry

crazy and lanky I am with you on the dream shop and babies plan! Currently in v stressy job with long hours and can't wait to have a batch of babies and waft about work hard in a cake shop or deli or interior design consultancy. Not sure how this squares with lack of pregnancy or me having to work to pay mortgage, let alone kiddie expenses but... You have to hope!

CaveMum · 01/09/2010 13:49

crazy definitely watch House! PinkLady got me into it a few years ago. It's another well written, intelligent drama.

Back to The West Wing the episode The Supremes with Glenn Close is my favourite. I also cried when Leo died, and Mrs Landingham and I jumped off my sofa and screamed with delight when Josh and Donna finally got together on election night.

crazybutterflylady · 01/09/2010 14:03

Yes Mrs Laningham :( but I loved her replacement! And Charley, love him!

I will look out for the Supremes, thank you x
