Settle down girls settle down as I hand you all a yummy pornstar cocktail complete with a sparkler and tacky umbrella. I take it we are all wearing our fabulous vintage 50's frocks, high heels and have our red lipstick on? Make yourself comfortable in the penthouse... the naked butlers are just heading in with grapes and truffles in trays...

All new first timers welcome - as long as suitable goodies and alcohol are dropped into the penthouse for all to share.

Oh and no AF around here - only FERTD.... Capishe??

ps cramps have eased off here but got another BFN this morning. I am loving these cheapy tests (they arrived last night) - no POAS guilt at all. Fully intend to POAS daily till ERTD arrives. Blush

JosieSmith1 · 02/09/2010 15:12

Congrats Crazy! I bet it still won't sink if for a while yet!

I am going to SWI like mad for the rest of this week and weekend and convince myself that I have done more than enough SWI to get pg this cycle.

Kaloki I'm recently married and the last few days were the most stressful for me so hope you're holding up ok! Nearly there, I bet it seems like you've been waiting ages! It'll all be worth it in the end I promise, but make the most of it as mine flew by and I really regret not appreciating it for what it was, got so bogged down in being nervous and wanting it all over with!

LankyLegs · 02/09/2010 15:25

Yes please do update us with wedding plans kaloki! Hope the nerves are not getting the better of you! It's nearly our 1 year anniversary so its bringing back ll the memories!

Cherry don't feel bad about the POAS-ing!

Locanda Locatelli is supposed to be yum - sounded like you had a good time! What sort of food were you after? Nobu is fun for yummy japanese and is very chilled out/not stuffy! We were at Galvin@Windows for DH's actual birthday which as also yum - but more formal. If you like oriental then Zuma (knightsbridge), Hakasan (tott crt rd) or Roka (charlotte stree) is also yum. OMG am salavating! Ooh and the yummiest tapas was the salt yard on goodge street (although quite a small place but a lot more relaxed). Other options may be Matsuri or if you prefer European or English food then maybe Arbitus or even Scalini's (Italian old school)... god I could go on for hours! Have done a lot of food/restaurant research recently! If you need any more suggestions let me know - willing to do the research for you!

The other place I want to try is Pied a Terre.

Also - who went to The Bleeding Heart recently? They did not report back!!

Kaloki · 02/09/2010 15:29

It's actually a week tomorrow, and it's been.. interesting.

Turns out the woman dealing with the wedding at Whipsnade has left, but no one told us. We only found out when I rang to find out when to get flowers and cake delivered. They didn't know how to spell DP's surname, or what time the ceremony is. Plus it turns out they failed to mention that we had to pay an extra £464 on top of the room hire and registrar's costs. So now we have to pay that. Oh and the new woman wants to charge us for glasses for the toast, when we were told they were free. So um, not fun.

However, my dress is finished and I'm really pleased with it. We're doing mine and DP's hair in the next few days (he's having black and white dreads and I'm going dark red)

On other news, I've still got this damn infection. So I'm off anti-biotics and waiting for an ultrasound to find out what is wrong. I haven't told anyone else, not even DP, but I'm quite scared by this. What if there is something seriously wrong? :(

crazybutterflylady · 02/09/2010 15:30

Kaloki!! Wow that's so soon... and I agree with josie the last bit was the most stressful - there are so many loose ends that can only be tied in the last week or so. I hope you are chilling though and getting excited, I was never nervous just like this --> Grin

Ha cherry you crack me up, you'll start using them as loo roll next Wink I laughed a lot at your old houmous pot, ha!! If you are a meat eater I would recommend Bocca di Lupo, it is FAB and the wine list is great. Otherwise Polpo, which is a relaxed tapas place is meant to be amazing but it doesn't take bookings so you have to be sneaky to get in before others. If you phone they'll tell you the best times! One of our fave restaurants is Zafferano but it's in Knightsbridge which is a bit of a schlep for us. Let me know if you need more ideas... this is my specialist subject Wink

Josie I am still really shocked, it feels like a dream...!

Incidentally, I can reliquish my hold of the lucky forum CBFM now if anyone else would like it, I can put you in touch with the owner?

cherrycobbler · 02/09/2010 15:38

Mmmmm thanks for resto ideas - will get googling. I am dying to got to Nobu but DH is not really a Japanese food fan so think it will be something more European based. Will check out Galvin (think I went to their brasserie on Baker St eons ago) Arbitus and Bocca di Lupo. Thanks guys!

Was it kkas off to the Bleeding Heart? How are you lovely? Have you handed in your notice yet? When do you start your new job?

Oh Kaloki sorry to hear about pre wedding stresses. Sounds like such a cool location tho and fab that you love your fress- you will look super cool in itw ith your dark red hair! Very Sad about the infection. You poor love. Try not to worry about it until you have the ultrasound and more investigations. Easier said than done I know. But the chances of it being something awful are slimmer than the chances of it being something thats fine to treat.

ps zippy don't know if you're still lurking but thinking of you and MrZ lots. Hope things are going ok for you & do pop in when you feel up to it.

cherrycobbler · 02/09/2010 15:40

not fress dress. Obviously. Ok, back to work now...

LankyLegs · 02/09/2010 15:40

Bocca di lupo is yum - but I think I was quite drunk when we got there - Is it Italian tapas/sharer style Crazy?

Kaloki what twats are you serious? What are you going to do - are you having to pay up for everything? I hope everything runs smoothly chica - and your hair sounds outrageous - love it! you will have to post a picture up!

OP posts:
crazybutterflylady · 02/09/2010 15:44

That's Polpo I think lanky - Bocca is Italian. Oooh, the other faaaab place is Aqua, on Regent Street. We went to the one in Honkers (flick)for the first night of our honeymoon and got in a right state, making random people limbo under the barman's tie Blush

The one here has a japanese bit but also a tapas bit! definitely worth a go x

LankyLegs · 02/09/2010 15:48

I am such an idiot Kkas if you are there - I suddenly realised that I was asking your about wedding plans the other day and not Kaloki sorry chica :(

OP posts:
JosieSmith1 · 02/09/2010 16:49

At the risk of sounding like an idiot, can anyone tell me what CBFM actually is?!

kkas · 02/09/2010 17:35

haha lanky i thought you meant kaloki but it was a lovely thought! loving the chat re restaurants. it is also a fav subject of mine - as well as googling all inclusive holidays all over the world

kaloki last minute wedding prep sounds a bit Confused but remember to step back and enjoy it! your hair sounds fab and really hope you feel better soon and they are able to tell you what is wrong. keep us updated!

it was me who went to the Bleeding Heart lanky and cherry for our 5th wedding anniversary. food was fab but sorry to report that service was seriously below par. waiter tipped water into DH's wine glass (with wine still in it!) that was the last glass of the bottle so they then said they would replace it with another glass, which never appeared. we usually hate to make a show of it but waiter was generally being a twat and they charged us for an extra coffee so DH said he wouldn't pay for service. maitre d' then had to come out to see what was wrong. they finally offered us complimentary amaretto/bailey, etc. was a bit of a faff so although i really recommend the food, i won't be taking any clients there anytime soon!

my current phase is cinnamon kitchen (liverpool street) or its big sister cinnamon club in westminster. fantastic indian/french fusion!

cherry thanks for asking re job. i handed in notice two weeks ago and surprisingly boss is very supportive and lovely about it. of course it helps that i am going to our biggest client! looks like i'll be finishing up here end of oct and starting new place on 1 nov. in the meantime, TTC is somewhat on hold but haven't given up all together. we are also starting the testing process to see if anything is physically wrong. my blood test is on tuesday.

speaking of which, DH was told by his GP that our NHS trust does not cover SA anymore. our private won't cover it either so looks like we will have to pay out ourselves. DH's GP said it was only available on NHS if woman was undergoing infertility treatment. he said i was going for blood tests but apparently that doesn't count and i either need to be on medication or having IUI/IVF? this really does not make sense to me and was wondering if anyone had heard anything similar? very frustrating since DH and i have different GPs so i was not at the appointment to probe further and of course DH just accepts whatever he is told. i will def be raising it with my GP when i see her for my blood results though.

crazy so excited re your BFP and loving flick's advice about the multiple testing. i also use a stolen plastic cup from the office water cooler!

josie i think CBFM is clear blue fertility monitor. don't have one so will have to defer to the expert flick on its use!

ooh - long post. see i told you i'd join in more!

Toriajayne · 02/09/2010 18:08

Wooo! Congratulations Crazy (and Mr Crazy as well obviously)

Flick I'm not used to this people being younger than me being in positions of authority/allowed to drink/allowed to practice medicine thing. I'm only 25! he did look about 12 though, poor boy! Mind you, my OH still gets us IDd on a regular basis and he'll also be 25 next month... Speaking of HTFU, have you ever seen the YouTube vid by that name (spelled out obv)

Kalokai The last week before my wedding nearly had me eloping (alone unfortnately as OH wanted the wedding we had booked) Fingers crossed that's the worst of it over and the rest runs smoothly! Hope you feel better soon as well, that sounds nasty :(

kkas I've never heard that about fertility tests/reatment and it sounds insane to me. Did they give any reason?

Cherry as big a hypocrite as this makes me, it's still early. Fingers crossed lovely.

For pee pots, I had a stack of cheap plastic cups in the garage, so one of them suffices. Wish I could have stolen one from work though, that's so much cooler lol.. Also loving the Three Follicles as a pub name :) I am fairly boring today, I have a clegg bite the diameter of a pint glass on my right forearm (always react badly to them) which has left me taking undoubtedly TTC unfriendly antihistamines in an attempt to not chew my arm off. OH irritated the livings out of me last night so no action for us but as am about a week ahead of ovulation he has plenty of time to get back in my good books Wink wanted to aim for every other day from day ten this month so as to cover all bases as it were but we'll see. Feeling a bit off again being back at work but reckon that's Chavetta being back from her holidays and setting my teeth on edge. He's out tonight jumping off rock faces or something similarly dangerous and stupid so I plan to make a cheesecake (for dinner with friends tomorrow, not just because), have a long hot bath and lurk on mumsnet do something constructive.

DessieLou · 02/09/2010 18:24

Bloody Hell Girls! I disappear for a week and not only do go and move thread but I have a sneaky suspision I have missed a couple of BFP's too! What's going on?!
I saw Steg's BFP before I went AWOL but do I detect a BFP for Crazy too?
How exciting! Congratulations!!!!! Did I miss the celebratory Pornstars?
What else have I missed then?

Truffkin · 02/09/2010 18:26

Loving the restaurant chat and have taken some pointers from you guys. We went to Le Gavroche in Mayfair for our anniversary last year and absolutely loved it. The food was so amazing and DH even started giggling at his main course because he couldn't believe how gorgeous it was. We went to a French place round the corner this year, which is tiny and not famous but the food was lucious and we could walk home in 5 minutes so bonus!

If you're a meat eater I would absolutely recommend Maze for unbelievably good steak and great, friendly service. We ended up in the kitchen with the chefs having our photo taken with the steak board by the end of the night.

On my list to try soon is Galvin at Windows, also Gordon Ramsay at Hospital Road and Smiths of Smithfield. A bit further afield I really fancy the Auberge Du Lac in Welwyn and of course, Heston's Fat Duck in Bray. Good job I'm not on a diet!!

alien06 · 02/09/2010 18:37

hey everyone , hope you are all well, just to let you know that I may not be posting as much as just gone back to work and am shattered and not enjoying it at all :0( I feel crap and all the TTC with no results is getting on my nerves, even though it is only my 2nd cycle. ERTD is due next week sometime, so am awaiting my mammoth eating session the day before

congrats to all the BFP's and fingers crossed for many more ! I shall still look in most days to see how everyone is , hopefully I shall be able to post at the weekends when I may have part of my life back and feel a little bit more positive xx

DessieLou · 02/09/2010 18:38

Hell fire! Just found the list. Roamfree and Kurly too!!! Congrats to you both!
I am ridiculously excited!
I've had a hell of a week. Random sackings and fallings out at work, busy bank holiday (hate them!), late nights and funeral on Tues...so glad its over. Roll on Sunday when it's my day off! So I have not had a shag all week! I know, I know, must try harder, sorry girls!
Best go, just got back from work and need to get changed before going to see the husband of the lady that died.... may have to pick up a pizza on the way home!

MrsWajs · 02/09/2010 18:40

:O:O:O:O 3 BFP's :O:O:O:O

I am uber excited for you guys!!!

WELL DONE!!! x

MrsWajs · 02/09/2010 18:41

Ok they were meant to be shocked faces! Ooops! Silly Wajs

cherrycobbler · 02/09/2010 18:41

also LOVING the restaurant chat!

Oooh Truffkin I am a complete pig and obsessed with eating and have been to both Auberge and the Fat Duck. I love, love, love the Auberge - really good value for a Saturday lunch too, tend to go there for all our family big celebration meals. Had the tasting menu at the Fat Duck about four years ago and tastebuds were completely freaked out by it (and I eat anything). Was craving something carby and plain by the end. Think the non tasting menu stuff is good though. I want to try his pub, also in Bray - the Hinds head? Never been to Maze but DH loves his steak so that is a top tip, thanks! Ditto Le Gavroche. So many places to try it seems - and now I have stopped spending £1,000 a week on expensive POAS tests surely I can justify trying a few of those places out..

Kkas yay for boss being nice and good luck with tests. That is just plain odd re the SA things. Def raise it with your GP.

Toria what is a clegg bite? I am imagining Nick Clegg biting your arm but suspect that's not what you're referring to.

Dessie, kurlyvoice and roamfree also got their BFPS - its been a fertile time for the frolickers!

This is my last moan about my cramps I promise but I am getting all my pre AF symptoms and feeling very Sad about it. No sympathy please, I am going to HTFU and roll up my sleeves for next month.

kurlyvoice · 02/09/2010 18:44

Flick, I have been a good girl and made an appointment at the doctors. I was not, however, as lucky as crazy with her next-day fella but will only have to wait until Monday evening to convince them to give me an early scan...

Am absolutely knackered and have spent the last two days feeling queasy all day. And I always need a wee! Grrr. I would put it down to start-of-term nerves but usually that's only in the morning! Guess the little bean is trying to make itself into something that vaguely resembles, well, a bean!

To add my little piece to the what-does-a-pregnany-test-positive-look-like discussion, I have been a complete loser and taken a photo of my two and they are on my MN profile... what a loser!?! I can't join the food discussion as I live in the back-of-beyond!

Crazy, am so pleased for you and your CBdigi result - it does feel SO much more real when there is actual writing! As you worked out, yes, I have NO idea when I ovulated - in fact, I was pretty sure that I wasn't, so this all just goes to show how wrong you can be. Well, at the moment. I MUST NOT BE TOO POSITIVE.

Kaloki, I really hope that you can enjoy your last week of wedding organising, despite STUPID people costing you extra money. Make sure you have time to get your nails done, etc!

Anyway, darling darling DH is making my dinner Blush having brought me flowers Grin, so I had better go and pretend to be supportive (in a sitting-down sort of way).

Toriajayne · 02/09/2010 18:51

Cherry Cleggs are horseflies, though during the election campaign someone in the news did make note of this and refer to clegg bites being irritating in the short term but easily forgotten!

raspberrytipple · 02/09/2010 18:56

ok, I got really over excited with all the BFPs especially as Crazy is due on Monday and so am I so I poas - BFN. Oh well, I'm not too gutted because now my grand plan is to get pg next month and that will be perfect timing to tell everyone on Christmas day. :-) Still think I'd rather have had a BFN though, I dont like being the odd one out but am super thrilled for the three muskateers!!

raspberrytipple · 02/09/2010 18:57

sorry, I meant I still think Id rather have a BFP..... my chocolate twirl distracted me.

highheelsandequations · 02/09/2010 20:02

On way out to pictures so super quick post to say YAY 1-2 weeks for crazy woo hoo!

And sorry to those with BFNs just now but remember it ain't over till ...

Very nearly Friday! Have a good one all, see you in the 3 follicles at 5 tommorrow? xx

(And it's so difficult to keep up with all the daytime chat when I can only really log on in the evenings now!)
