Welcome BOA All are welcome here, especially those with Thorntons! :)

Really sorry to hear about your mc

nickstermum · 29/08/2010 13:40

Welcome cas and back its pants that you are here, but there is comfort in numbers (un-compassionate as that may sound) Sorry to hear you have had losses also.

owlshoes · 29/08/2010 14:11

Well that's it, the PIL plus stinky dog have gone. And I managed not to lamp either of them, hurrah!

Welcome BOA , you are in the right place & this is indeed a lovely supportive bunch of folks. Just v.v. sorry that you had to come and find us in the first place.

Loopy Woop woop woop! So pleased for you :)

Hairy big boo for AF - grrr.

MamaP am impressed with the tutorial Wink however also now concerned; if the cervix is tiny little thing up thar, how does the giant vast baby come out of it? Explain me that. Grin Actually no, don't explain me that, I think I would prefer 40 weeks of complete denial then a brief instructional pamphlet about 5 minutes before the event.

How are you lot, anyway? Have the colds subsided? Hope you're all SWIing frantically, we need more BFPs cos they are always cheering.

No symptoms to repor in the Owl household, unless you count being incandescent with suppressed rage for the last 2 days. And feeling reaaaaaallllly fat.

BackOnceAgain · 29/08/2010 14:13

Thanks for your welcomes ladies Grin (I didn't see there was another newbie too, so hi and sorry for your loss Cas)

Maybe I'll stick with my new name after all Hmm

Sorry, I was going to bring wine too but drank the whole bottle to myself last night Blush

PinkFondantFancy · 29/08/2010 14:31

Hello all thanks for the chocolate fix! That plus a nap have cheered me right up!! Hi to cas and boa sorry you're here but the ladies are lovely and the chocolate and wine are very well stocked!! boa your name makes me start humming the song about back once again with the renegade master something something something power to the people :)

Hehe so yep intensive swi has rubbed DH's bits raw!!

nickstermum · 29/08/2010 14:39

Hey Owly isnt it incredibly inpolite of people to come round bearing mutts when you have a pussy cat?!

Fondant ah ha ha ha your poor DH - and how the devil are you managing it also? Jeepers creepers what is the magic potion you have been taking? Tell him to bathe it in some lavender or tea tree oil and he should be ready to go again real soon.

BackOnceAgain · 29/08/2010 15:31

not meant to be still mning but just had to say Fondant that was the song going round my head when I thought of it!! I've not heard it for ages, how bizarre you mentioned it!!

Nickstermum Thanks for the lovely mental imagery of Fondant's dh's sore bits, I am now laughing too..yes I think I'm gonna like it here Grin

owlshoes · 29/08/2010 16:01

Aw, no, sticking it back on Shock I recommend a large helping of that preseed stuff to, erm, make things easier on the poor chap PFF

We only had 2 shags during the entire SWI window this month due to excessively busy stuff going on, tis just not good enough. I shall have to start responding to all that spam mail I get trying to sell me viagra.

Nicks it is an old manky dog and they couldn't leave it at home - but yes, the cat was massively unimpressed. Yuck @ bird remnants on carpet, I know that feeling.

PinkFondantFancy · 29/08/2010 18:05

Grin hehe I bought him some tea tree cream at the shops 'for cuts and grazes' hahahaha. Remarkably I'm absolutely fine albeit completely insatiable, don't know what's happened to me! Never used to be like this!! It's taken poor DH by surprise!

nickstermum · 29/08/2010 19:51

definately know when its your fertile time if you have the twitch thing going on then & you cant get enough PFF hope the cream works for him.... and it doesnt sting

Mind you what we women have to go through to conceive or to birth a child i think a sore willy is a small price to pay Grin... tell him to grit his teeth and get on with it or better still, lie back and think of england!

Hey owly sometimes only once or twice is enough, you never know you may have caught the little eggy - my poor DH gets all sorts of supplements to boost his swimmers so they last a bit longer and so i dont end up having to sit on a rubber donut or walking like john wayne!Just dont have the time these days.. must be too old Hmm

nickstermum · 29/08/2010 19:58

BOA just re-reading back through some posts... its normal to have intense feelings after MC - and its also normal to have mixed feelings or mood swings, or fine one min and devastated the next. So i have found anyway. I just wanted to acknowledge your post really and let you know that i do get your pain :( I found out i had MC for the first time on 8th aug.. its hideous but just allow yourself to grieve and go with it.....

and of course if this thread can provide a few giggles to help ease that then hopefully it can provide you with some comfort. Its certainly worked for me :)

2 weeks ago i wasnt sure i would ever laugh again, now everything feels so much more light hearted...and positive......i hope it can do the same for you :)

BackOnceAgain · 29/08/2010 21:10

Ok so I've only just joined you gals and already I'm hooked Grin

Nickstermum thankyou so much (again) it is surreal. Seeing peoples stories of hope is so positive, and your enthusiastic thread is fantastic. I should add we're trying to conceive number 3 (number 2 for dh) and feel so blessed to have a healthy 2 yr old ds and 10 yr old dd already. I am so lacking in any parenting skills these past 2 weeks though, ice-cream, friends to stay over or (in ds's case) cheeky comments, I just think,"I love you cos you're actually really truly here" I hope other posters get what I mean by that Blush

Owlshoes only took twice last time for us, and only ONCE in the cycle to get ds (not that we hadn't tried for much longer before, I might add) but just for frame of reference.

nickstermum · 29/08/2010 21:47

No worries BOA still a newbie myself (already i too am hooked!) I get you, i am trying for DC 2 also... who is i have to say my sole reason for existence.

Both times of conception for me have been very luckily quite easy, (just 2nd wasnt sticky enough Angry ) although this time round i am not anticipating such an easy ride as my cycle seems to have gone all over the place.. will see what its like once my AF arrives...

reallygrumpy · 29/08/2010 22:22

Hello all, DD and I did some baking today so thought I'd pop in to pass round flapjacks and chocolate cornflake cakes.

Hello BOA and nickstermum sorry you've found yourselves on here but everyone is lovely and v kind.

I felt a bit sick this eve and wondered if it was a sign... If I had a positve OPK on mon (last mon) when's the soonest I can test?

owlshoes · 29/08/2010 22:30

Ooo, missed other lovely new person. Hello & welcome cas , make yourself at home :)

BOA you have cheered me greatly with the 'it only took two' - cos I fear that's as much as we are ever likely to manage, we are so rubbish.

Did someone mention cornflake-based snacks? I'm all over those, oh yes indeed.

Grumps I think the recommended interval is 14 DPO for a relatively reliable result although some of those expensive fancy test kits supposedly work at 10 DPO or less. So you're about 7 DPO now, are you not? Plenty of time to join those of us who are in the two week wait and imagining all manner of excellent symptoms. Grin

I'm handing out a foot-wide chocolate chip cookie for the best effort.

MummyAbroad · 30/08/2010 03:05

Hello everyone,

Hi LittleMiss, Cas and hello again BOA (I like your abbreviated name, makes you seem very fiesty and strongSmile)

Hope you three are doing OK, those first few weeks after mc are really rough. Hugs to you all.

Loved the tutorial MamaP, I just received my copy of Taking Charge of Your Fertility and was impatient to get to that bit, read your post and and found my cervix immediately!

In my news: I had a lovely time at the hot springs resort, and inspired by knitter managed twice in a day. Grin Anyone else getting more action since reading about that? Grin
Still BFN no AF, run out of test sticks. Spa waters have relaxed me a lot, might even be able to cope without testing until next Amazon order arrives. Note the might, not promising anything...

xxxxxxxxx

MummyAbroad · 30/08/2010 04:35

You are all asleep and its only 8pm for me, so I am having a go at doing the list!! Its my first time ever and there aren?t any instructions so if I screw it up then I' ll just blame you I apologise.

So what you all got planned for Bank Holiday Monday.? I'm home alone, DP has gone off to do work stuff so some free time for me!

That said I have a whole load of washing to do.. house to clean and wedding to plan! It's just dawned on me the date is looming and I've done nothing Shock 22nd October is the date and I haven't even got a dress.

Welcome to BOA sorry you find yourself here but the Thortons are most welcome! You can keep the wine I'm on the wagon for a while. Wink

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 30/08/2010 09:15

Morning all, welcome to BOA and cas, sorry you've found yourself here but it's a nice place to be in the circumstances. May your stay be short!

Right, am on my first month of CBFM and needing some guidance: I'm on cd 18 of a 29 day cycle and CBFM is showing the 7th day of high but no peak so far. Could it just be that it's the first month of using and therefore it's still getting to know me and perhaps not detecting everything reliably (hopeful but Hmm), or am I not ovulating or ovulating too late? Anyone?!

I'm slightly paranoid about this because I think I used to ovulate really late (DS was conceived 4 days before my LMP; only realised when an early scan at what should have been 6.5 weeks showed I was actually 9 weeks). Thought this had resolved itself though as DD and DC3 were all conceived in the middle of the month, textbook-fashion. Now I'm worrying about it again! Confused

Hope you're all having a good weekend, any news from those having surprise WTF cycles and stubborn BFNs?

PrettyVacant1 · 30/08/2010 09:47

Morning Peeps. < still slightly krunk hungover> Smile

Sorry been AWOL, SIL is staying with us and it's The Mattthew St Festival so we were out early and in (very) late.
Doing it all again today.

LittleMiss Sweets I'm sorry.
Look after yourself. xx

Sorry to see more Newbies, a big welcome and as Izzy said try not to stick around too long Smile

Update RTD very rudely arrived at 5am Sun morn so I'm now on CD2.
Can not be doing with that very month!

Have to run ,love to everyone, have a super sunny BH mon xxxx

Just adding myself to the WTTC list. Thanks again to everyone for your lovely welcomes they have really cheered me up Grin

MummyAbroad glad you had a good time away, you deserved it. Hot springs sound lovely, as does Costa Rica... Yes BOA as in constrictor, I like it too Grin

Littlemiss hi, dh has gone to work too, not that I'm complaining I suppose but by the look of it its going to be a nice day so I refuse to do any housework! (I didn't buy my wedding dress til 4 weeks before the wedding either, much less stressful I thought Confused good luck!)

Izzy I am a late in cycle gal too, also long cycles, thinking of getting on the Agnus Castus to sort out my cycles (worked like a dream just before ds) however you're not meant to take it if you're actively trying. Also want to get AF after ERPC first to make sure everything's ok in there...

Yummy flapjack ReallyGrumpy Smile

PinkFondantFancy · 30/08/2010 11:17

Thanks for flapjack really, lucky you made a big batch with us lot around!! I'm off into London today to meet up with my mum and bro so should be a v nice day! Really needed to tidy the house though-all my good plans for the weekend to sort house out and catch up on sleep have been overtaken by socialising and watching 'just one more' episode of 24!!

Hi littlemiss, sorry I don't think I said hello before! Hopefully you should be able to get a really good bargain on a dress compared to ordering it in advance, and you won't have the stress of endless fittings.

IzzyWizzyletsgetbusy · 30/08/2010 11:49

PV sorry RTD got you, fx for next month.

BOA - do you know why you're not supposed to take agnus castus if you're TTC? I haven't heard that before. I thought I read somewhere that starflower oil was good for regulating cycles, but am not sure and don't want to start taking the wrong things! Any advice appreciated Confused
