Thanks for all your comments. Temp dropped again this morning Sad, so FF now says day 26 but gives dotted lines here.
But that's what you said it might be DG - you obviously have lots more insight than me! FF doesn't like it when things are not text book.
It's strange because since AF returned after DD my cycles have been 28, 29, 30 or 31 days and that's it so not sure what is going on this month.
Annoying as DP and I really went for it (wore him out!) and I'm the sort of person who thinks 'I don't work properly' at the first sign of anything out of the ordinary. We'll just have to wait and see. I haven't had PMT yet (or chocolate cravings!) but do have tender boobs and every so often have the odd cramping sensation, so I think AF must be on its way.
I'm quite old as well, so think my clock is ticking quite loudly.

DG hoping this one sticks well and you can come and share your good news soon on the Sept 08 thread Grin

Oh and yes, I'm just using a bog standard digital thermometer from Boots. Do they also sell fertility ones?

LadyGoneGaga · 13/10/2010 16:57

Yes, they do. Next to the pregnancy tests and stuff. I ordered mine online though and came next day delivery. Maybe your temp dip is an implantation one too, Mrs? Here's hoping. My cycles were textbook for two cycles post-DS both 28 days but then had a 40-er and since then seen to have settled around 34 or 35 days. But mc prob screwed them up again anyway!

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed · 13/10/2010 20:14

Evening ladies, and welcome to all the newbies!

I'm after your opinions. When we visited the F/specialist, he recommended chucking the charting & OPKs Hmm and SWI every-other day from CD7!

We've done as he suggested (but still charting & using OPKs Grin ). Today is CD13 and OV is usually CD14 or CD16 (never CD15??!), so in theory tomorrow is our "day off"!
So-o-o-o should we just go for it tomorrow too AND Friday, AND Saturday, or take the chance that I won't OV tomorrow and let DH re-charge :)

DH's had a s/test in January which were absolutley fine, so there shouldnt be too much of an issue and looking back at when I got pg earlier this year we SWI TWICE on CD14, and TWICE on CD15 and then got a +OPK on CD16 and that was it!

bessie26 · 13/10/2010 20:16

spilt just read your posts, am so very sorry for your loss. I can't imagine what it has been like for you to go through this, but it sounds like you & your DH are very strong people & however dark the days may seem, remember that there will be light again. Be kind to yourselves.

Bessie xx

Danilou22 · 13/10/2010 20:58

mummyabroad no idea why it is now normal!

I came off of the pill last oct and it took 5 months for me to get a period then all was okish, although irregular temps and my cycles were between 38 and 40 days then I did not get a period again for another 4 months and now it is looking normal!

All very odd, they are not sure if I have PCOS or if it is my body getting used to working after 15 years on the pill. i need to go for another blood test when I get AF this time.

It is horrible not knowing what is going on, I hope you get AF soon xx

spilttheteaagain · 13/10/2010 21:25

Thanks bessie, it's really tough at the moment. It's hard when you can't stop crying and feel like the ache will never stop, but it's equally hard when actually it feels ok and I'm distracted by watching tele or something. Then I feel guilty too Sad. I hope things are still going well for you.

I took my first temperature again this morning with mixed feelings. We decided to get things ready for trying again so we could go for it when we want to. So I've restarted the folic acid, ordered the OPKs got myself a blank chart. This whole experience has really confirmed for us that we want babies desperately. However I also think I might need a bit of time to pick up from the last pregnancy as I was so sick and tired, and I might as well make the most of pregnancy contraband for a bit... so I am a sort of Charter again.

Spent today starting to arrange little Bobbie's funeral. It's been a very tearful day, very hard to face decisions. We went to see the cemetry where we are arranging the burial and I liked it, it was very peaceful and nicely tended with lovely big trees. We're going to just have a very simple, private graveside service, just DH and I, the vicar and his wife (who is actually our funeral director). They are friends of ours so hopefully it will feel special and personal. I feel all wibbly and sad thinking about it. Should never have happened like this.

digitalgirl · 13/10/2010 22:00

spilt the arrangements you're planning sound perfect. It shouldn't have to be this way, but you'll get through this. Bobbie will never be forgotten. X

LadyGoneGaga · 13/10/2010 23:03

As Digi said it sounds like a beautiful tribute to your dear child. He/she will always be with you in your heart. Glad to hear you're feeling strong enough to think beyond your grief and towards the future. Will be thinking of you both.

MummyAbroad · 14/10/2010 02:09

Hi all

Split my thoughts are with you and your family. Your intimate funeral sounds lovely, but even though there will be a small number of people there, there will be many many more (of us) thinking about you all and wishing peace for little Bobby. xxxx

Danilou gosh, that is a long time to wait post pill. Hope you get some answers from your blood test.

IfAtFirstUDontSucceed Did you ask your doc why he gave you that advice? and if not, will you get another chance soon to ask him/her? Personally, if a doctor advises me to do anything that goes against my instinct I want to have a good reason as to why. What does your instinct say?

I have read a few reasons for this kind of recommendation

  1. if you DH has a low sperm count (which you rule out)
  2. if one or both of you are getting stressed out by charting/opks. Are you?
  3. you dont get clear ovulation patterns because of PCOS, so charting/SWI becomes stressful/not much use

There is also the possibility that you use charts/opks incorrectly and therefore miss good oppotunities to SWI, but I think thats a bit patronising really...

IMHO (and Toni's Grin)charting and OPK's really do increase your odds, but can make it all a bit stressful. Doing it the doctors way would mean accepting their odds (their standard line is it could take up to a year) and my deafening biological clock and post mc mania doesnt like those odds at all, so you wouldnt be able to wrestle the pee sticks off me Shock Grin

LadyGoneGaga · 14/10/2010 07:56

Morning all. Temps have gone back up again today from yesterdays polar drop Smile. Hope they stay up! [[http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/2fee7f
]]

I was getting quite a lot of CM yesterday, sort of white and a little bit stringy. Not like EWCM where you get a long stretch, but sort of little gummy stretchy bits. And my cervix seems very firm. Hmm, signs? Or am I setting myself up for a huge fall?

Truffkin · 14/10/2010 07:56

Morning Ladies,

Just wanted to say hello to Split and although we've not 'met' before as I'm new to the thread I have great admiration for the dignified way you are handling yourself. You and DH sound unbelievably strong.

IfatFirst what was your GP's reason for advising not to chart? Is it the stress thing? If every day feels like too much then you'd be ok missing out Friday wouldn't you as you'd still have the swimmers saved up from Friday if OV did happen then and refresh the stocks again on Saturday just in case!

http://www.fertilityfriend.com/m/chart.php I'm posting here the link to my chart again as I've now got 3 days of temps above the coverline and am quite excited about that. Have assumed it wont do the cross hatching on the mobile site (still in bed so on my phone Blush to post!)

Truffkin · 14/10/2010 07:58

Sorry link FAIL will get off my lazy arse and post on the PC shortly. Am working from home this morning so was taking advantage of no commuting time!

Truffkin · 14/10/2010 07:59

Sorry Lady cross posted. Looking good for you! Really keeping my fingers crossed for the next few days.

Truffkin · 14/10/2010 09:22

Right, actually got up to do some work. My very exciting (for me!) chart is [[http://www.fertilityfriend.com/home/285f22
here!]]

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 14/10/2010 09:30

Morning. Split, like Truffkin, I am new to this thread so wouldn't presume to know what you are going through but your posts show such strength and dignity. I hope things are bearable.

I am looking similar to you Lady. here
Temp shot up today, but if i did ov day 26, then as I'm on day 31, it may just be my normal, albeit delayed, luteal phase. I normally have a LP of 10 or 11 days, so I'm expecting AF next week.
Trying not to get my hopes up.

LadyGoneGaga · 14/10/2010 10:30

Truff you have a truly beautiful chart. V neat and tidy and non-ambiguous! Very well timed SWI too - t'is a good feeling.

Mrs hope it is a dip for you too. Time slows down dutring the TWW doesn't it!

Truffkin · 14/10/2010 10:37

Oh Lady you've made me Blush but you're right, is such a good feeling. I just feel like I've got my head round it after so much faffing around in the last year. I wish I had discovered the wonders of MN and FF earlier But fanks, am still keeping my fingers crossed for you

digitalgirl · 14/10/2010 11:20

Fingers crossed ladies!

ladyggg classic implantation dip! Got the same white globby stringy stuff. Thought it was DH Blush.

mrsA can see why you're a bit confused, reckon changing to a bbt thermometer may help (got my one from boots when ttc DS). Also do you take your temp at the same time everyday? I used to set my alarm for 6 - as I knew I would never normally get up earlier than that. Wake up, take temp, then go back to sleep till preferred random wake-up time. I also made sure DH did all the night-time checks with DS so I could have the full 3 hours rest before taking temp.

truffkin Beautiful textbook chart you've got there!

Looking forward to some triphasic action followed lots of bfps next week! [charting geek emoticon]

MA I didn't use opks this cycle. Which seems to have reinforced my theory that I only ever conceive when I don't use OPKs (four times now). Just kept going with SWI till I got my confirmed temp rise. I think I get the surge earlier than most, I remember the previous cycle getting two positive opks and three days later cervix was still wide open. I really hope you get some answers soon. Did you say whether you'd started acupuncture, I found it amazing for getting my cycles on track, even if they were 40 days long, at least they were consistent.

LadyGoneGaga · 14/10/2010 12:28

Let's hope so, Digi. How are you feeling at the mo?

TerrysNo2 · 14/10/2010 12:46

Hi Ladies - have to make this a quick post, am on a business trip and really fed up so wanted to come online to read some nice stuff and see friendly faces!!

LadyG I also have quasi EWCM but not as stretchy??

Also I am overly hormonal today - I didn't get any sleep last night so that may be why but is it a PG symptom? I know its a PMT symptom but maybe could be both?!?

digitalgirl · 14/10/2010 13:14

terrys hope it's a pg symptom

ladyggg feeling worrying normal today. but trying not to think about it...

digitalgirl · 14/10/2010 13:16

worringly normal.

rocketleaf · 14/10/2010 13:27

Don't worry digi I felt worryingly normal from about week 5 to 6, then BOOM, the MS kicked in, enjoy it while is lasts, is all I can say! :o

LadyGoneGaga · 14/10/2010 13:46

And you get good days and bad days, just to keep you on your toes Grin. Glad to hear you're ok though.

MrsArchchancellorRidcully · 14/10/2010 14:12

Hmm - now I'm not so sure. DD had disturbed sleep last night, she was coughing a bit. She didn't wake and I didn't get up but it woke me at 4am. I've also had a cold this week, so maybe this will affect things.

I do take at the same time everyday, more or less. I'm not as disciplined as you DG as I value my sleep too much but I set my alarm for 6.30 everyday and it's unusual for DD to wake before then.
Going to see what happens next week before shelling out for a BBT thermometer (looking positively), although i reckon it's likely I'll buy one.
It took us 12 months to conceive DD and when I got pg, we were just embarking on the road of fertility tests. I know back then our bloods and sperm tests were all fine, so I think it's possibily because I have a shortish LP.
Would feel a bit cheeky to go back to docs, as we already have one IYSWIM, but if nothing happens by the end of the year, we're gonna have to as I'm 38 so getting on a bit Grin
