Welcome to our new shiny thread for February. The lattes and expressos were not quite hitting the mark so we have moved to the pub. Whether you need Diet Coke or stiff drink help yourself we have a tab going and hunky staff are very attentive.

Hey @RainbowZebraWarrior
I found going gluten free reduced inflammation and pain significantly (and sorted long standing tummy issues) so I'm not on a particularly high dose of codeine. I only have the 30mg and I tend only to take 2 doses a day early evening and bedtime. I could take more but it's not needed at the moment.

I feel so bad hearing about the issues others are having. Being denied pain medication is awful.

It worries me that there seems to be the huge medication back lash which leaves those of us with chronic pain without the relief we need.

Chronic pain is horrible. It's like a constant draining noise in your head that you can't turn off or get away from. At best we get to drown it out or dial it down for a few hours here and there with the help of medication. We shouldn't have to beg for it.

Akire · 18/02/2022 22:48

I describe it like having a very full bladder it’s really hard to ignore. You can’t even lay bed and watch a film because every part of you is like my bladders going explode, can’t relax can’t get comfy just horrible!

Just trying get comfy with pillows and the like. Good luck for peaceful night all

Morning. I dislocated my ankle last night by getting too excited at a rugby league game and trying to jump up cheering... it didn't end well for me. I'm in agony with it now.

Worried kidney infection not been knocked
On the head still have till Monday morning but am concerned. My pain diary been so helpful and since I’m writing out meds each day I’m learning spell some of them!

Weekends are just stressful, because I work Monday to Friday I feel like I need to make the most of my only days off, but today I spent most of my time in bed because a headache floored me. Think it's related to pain in my neck. And now I'm just frustrated

Akire · 19/02/2022 18:13

That’s is frustrating when can’t even feel like having some down time to recover from the week. Hope it eases up for you soon.

Hello, another zebra here. Limited foods and being careful not to get injured or overdo anything physical has helped me have less pain and nausea.
I just thought I'd say hello. Smile

Akire · 20/02/2022 08:35

Morning and welcome @Hydrate just coming around here with a coffee. For some reason my face is all puffy. I slept well as well! So that was nice surprise when looking in mirror Grin

Thank-you.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 20/02/2022 11:05

Hello @Hydrate 👋🦓 That's basically what I do, too. The limited foods thing is nuts. I started FODMAP years ago, then went gluten free and lactose / dairy free. I have suspected MCAS too so can't tolerate foods high in histamine. So now also low histamine / low saliclyate diet. Bloody minefield. Totally appreciate that I am still so lucky compared to some though.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 20/02/2022 11:07

@Akire could the puffiness be a side effect of the meds?

Akire · 20/02/2022 13:24

It could be yes seems to be list as long as your arm. Anyone doing anything exiting today?

Hi @Hydrate

Nothing exciting here @Akire lazy Sunday. DS1 is making a roast dinner for later. He's a good un.

ICrunchCrispsNotNumbers · 20/02/2022 15:09

Hi @Hydrate! Welcome to the thread.

Just got back from a trip to the high street. It was good to get out and get some exorcize.

Hope everyone's having a restful Sunday ❤️

Akire · 20/02/2022 15:25

I’m feeling drained had sleep and have sore throat and tingly nose. Not seen a soul for 7 days! Trying push through to bed time now.
High street visits nice now and again aren’t they.

Gilead · 20/02/2022 21:26

I’m feeling sorry for myself today. Not been mobile for a couple of days. L4 and 5 are degenerating and I have known about it all weekend. Normally I’d sit and crochet but my thumb and little finger keep sublux if!
Went to bed at six last night, didn’t bother with tea. Had some food tonight but back in bed for seven. Taken amitriptyline and oromorph so hopefully will sleep!

HerRoyalHappiness · 20/02/2022 21:43

@Gilead I hope you feel a bit better in the morning. My wrists keep going at the minute so I cant knit so I feel your pain.

Gilead · 21/02/2022 06:11

Thank you!
Storm Franklin has hit the North East, the weather here is mad and we weren’t included in the weather warnings! So no sleep,😢

HerRoyalHappiness · 21/02/2022 06:26

I had a rubbish night due to the storm too. I feel awful this morning. Not looking forward to the school run at all.

Akire · 21/02/2022 08:09

Good luck with school run for everyone. Just took last of anti-biotics have to see if get any more twinges. Waiting for lift man to appear, just because they booked him on Thursday does not mean we will be top of the list so could be any point today or not at all. It’s new lift about 18m old so shouldn’t need any new parts and need resetting or whatever. I was trapped home for 6m when they took out our old one and this new one would be much more reliable Confused
