Welcome to our new shiny thread for February. The lattes and expressos were not quite hitting the mark so we have moved to the pub. Whether you need Diet Coke or stiff drink help yourself we have a tab going and hunky staff are very attentive.

@Justalittlebitfurther

Sorry to hear about your kidney infection *@Akire and the issue with Sainsburys @RainbowZebraWarrior*. I had a better GP appointment, she’s running some more bloods and going to refer me to a neurologist if the bloods come back with no cause for pain. So that’s something. Fingers crossed for a better day for everyone tomorrow.
Good to see your GP is following the correct processes.

RainbowZebraWarrior · 14/02/2022 19:09

@Akire me and DD will have the steak at some point from the 'Valentines meal' She can also have the cheesecake. The wine will go to my folks. I'm probably going to do an air fryer special tonight myself.

Akire · 14/02/2022 19:14

Morning all.
Really struggling to keep upon here sorry. Awful brain fog.
Pleased to hear of peoples positive GP appts. @Akire I hope you start to feel better soon.
Is anyone here menopausal or on HRT? As if I don't have enough going on, I think I am progesterone intolerant. Yesterday was a very bad day with it. It actually scares me.
I am on the menopause board but just wondered if anyone here has experience of this.

Awful weather here today. Half term.
I have to take my DS school blazer to the dry cleaners today or I won't get it back on Friday. It feels like a major mission.
So tired!
DH actually gone into the office today ( different city and 1 hour on the train) I get very anxious when he does this as I worry if something happens and he is so far away. Probably daft but I can't help it.
Hope everyone is doing ok this morning Flowers

Yes I am on HRT. Progesterone is a git. And actually a bad enemy of joint pain. I don't have much advice I'm afraid as I've just stuck with the Evorel Conti which is oestrogen patches for 2 weeks and combination of oestrogen and progesterone patch for 2 weeks. I feel that menopause / peri made all of my issues go from 10 to 1000. It was like falling off a cliff.

Might be worth starting a new thread on menopause boards about possible progesterone issues. I know there's a poster there called jingling hells bells who is amazing. It's a bloody minefield to navigate on top of pain and brain fog Flowers

Daimyum · 15/02/2022 10:33

I'm on tibolone. It seems to help.
But, had prostrap injections then hysterectomy due to adenomyosis and endometriosis. So not a natural menopause. That was at 38, 41 now

Daimyum · 15/02/2022 10:35

Hot flushes are the only thing I get now, but could also be a MS symptom. Can't have the heating on, is a pain

Akire · 15/02/2022 10:47

Morning all! Happy to report kidneys are much better just gall bladder pain racing to the top of the pain charts today. It’s going to be a very lazy day also pouring here which always makes me feel like hibernating.

HerRoyalHappiness · 15/02/2022 12:09

Afternoon. It's bloody freezing which if course plays havoc with my joints

wildthingsinthenight · 15/02/2022 15:19

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior I have found a thread on there with some good advice. Just need to get my gp on board plus get her to refer me for my pain etc or do something and stop being so wishy washy. No mean feat!
Thanks everyone else for HRT info.
Yes joint pain SO much worse when on progesterone.
Managed my mission to dry cleaners and actually persuaded DS he should come with me and go to Wagamama for lunch. It's his favourite and one has opened near us. Bribery!

Akire · 16/02/2022 11:27

How is everyone doing today? I feel so much brighter and side affects meds on stomach are million times better. Managed clean boiler cupboard for safety check tomorrow so feel like domestic goddess!

HerRoyalHappiness · 16/02/2022 12:13

Oh well done @Akire

I've sorted through the kids clothes. I've been saving up to buy them new stuff so that will be here tomorrow, so we sorted their drawers out ready

wildthingsinthenight · 16/02/2022 12:45

Well done @Akire and @HerRoyalHappiness positive starts ❤
I feel brighter today too as ditched my last progesterone tablet last night and started stronger oestrogen. Just more can and hopeful.
Sorted and cleaned tea/coffee/condiments cupboards this morning. Miracle Grin

wildthingsinthenight · 16/02/2022 12:45

Calm not can

Akire · 16/02/2022 13:11

That's good. Was that on the basis of what you found out on the Meno board yesterday or have you managed to speak to GP again?
wildthingsinthenight · 16/02/2022 21:57

Yes it was after advice from Meno.board plus research by me. I have to take it as I have a womb so I need it prescribing differently. Bioidentical instead of synthetic and possibly for use vaginally. So this will now take up all my gp appt tmrw as it is time sensitive. I'll then need to make another appt about my pain/long covid/ fibro. ...
Ugh. I'm tired!

wildthingsinthenight · 17/02/2022 10:18

Morning.
Hope everyone had a good night 💜

HerRoyalHappiness · 17/02/2022 12:11

The wind kept me awake most of the night.
Ventured out to aldi. Only I forgot to print off my free school meal voucher. Luckily I had enough in the bank to pay for it regardless but I'm skint now.

Akire · 17/02/2022 13:01

Slept ok but lift is broke and didn’t find out until I went out to get my taxi! So annoying and frustrating (wheelchair user) So stuck at home and been storm prepping in case we get it bad.

OP posts:
wildthingsinthenight · 17/02/2022 15:12

Ah no what a pain @HerRoyalHappiness that is so annoying. Well done for getting out and shopping though.
@Akire that seems so unfair that you are now stuck in. Assume its been reported. How long does it usually take to fix?

Our front fence is hanging by a thread this morning. Landlord will not be interested Hmm
Gp has referred me to Pain Clinc today. Felt very "don't tell me tell them" at the appt.
What happened at a PC? I feel she has missed a few steps out and I should be at rheumatology or neurology first? No experience of a pain clinic before.

I did get what I wanted HRT wise though. Sort of. I 100% knew more than her which is scary.

Akire · 17/02/2022 15:21

So they referred you to pain clinic without finding out or getting wheels in motion to find out why you are in pain? I mean good get pain support but dare say can’t do much if don’t know why or give drugs (don’t think they do this anyway!)

Lift used to be emergency call out 4 hours. The last 5 times though I’ve rang after least 5h and been told oh our system didn’t work or engineer didn’t pick up work messages. But now saying it’s 24h call out as a mim because it depends on contractor. It was reported 5pm yesterday I rang at around 10am. Sounds like using cheaper service as I’m sure there are companies attending faster. Then course once get here it’s the oh we need order a part it be days/weeks. So who knows when it will be fixed.

With storm and power cuts then not be able get out again. Plus or we do have power cut it need resetting or whatever as shuts off for safety reason. Good job I’m well used to it spoiling my days.

That's about it yes. Although I have just googled pain clinics in UK and they can prescribe meds and you can also attend them even if you don't yet know why you are in pain. Hmmm. Probably a v long waiting list
Akire · 17/02/2022 22:14

Hope everyone has decent night and storm doesn’t keep you awake.
