My kids are little, it would be cruel to make them eat in the kitchen away from their new toys!
So I think I will have a fruit plate and nice muffins, buns etc. out for them on their small table while we open presents. This way we can have tea/coffee as well just sitting around the tree.
I'm expecting #3 so I won't be drinking much that day, maybe just one glass of wine with dinner which we have at 5.

Myrrhcy · 13/12/2008 18:42

Not sure yet but it will probably be one or two of the following

Pain au chocolat
Croissant
Belgian waffles (with maple syrup)
Pancakes (ditto)

First drink will probaly be in the middle/towards the end of cooking lunch, so 1pm ish (sherry in my case probably)

AnarchyInAManger · 13/12/2008 18:43

bitofasnowqueen · 13/12/2008 18:50

Pancakes, bacon and maple syrup. Mmmmmm.

Going to my parents on Christmas day and bar opens at 12.

cyLENTeeNIGHT · 13/12/2008 18:53

mmm, booze for breakfast (not that I'll be indulging this year as am breastfeeding).

Not sure what's for breakfast as we're staying at my best friend's house - I might just purchase a selection of bread-based comestibles

flaminhell · 13/12/2008 18:56

We have croissants with cheese and bacon, absolutely gorgeous followed by fruits and chocolate, and a glass of bubbly!! Lurve Christmas morning1

MilaMae · 13/12/2008 19:21

We have our normal Dorset meusli followed by Pannetone and Illy coffee. The dc (and dp and I sometimes) like porridge with frozen raspberries and honey for some bizarre reason on xmas morning (if they aren't too stuffed with choc). I quite like Bucks Fizz too if I'm up to it.

Coffee when we first get up, then scrambled egg with smoked salmon and bucks fizz. My dad has a penchant for scallops with bacon.

The fizz carries on all day!

ScottishMummy · 13/12/2008 19:48

smoked salmon and cream cheese blini, croissants.OJ,and cuppa tea

ThingOne · 13/12/2008 19:52

Croissants - maybe some mini ones so they can have two.

TheVirginGoober · 13/12/2008 19:55

Was thinking about making some cranberry and white chocolate muffins on christmas eve to have with a pot of coffee.

eekareindeer · 13/12/2008 19:55

We will have our normal breakfast, cereal or toast, probably croissants or brioche, some grapefruit perhaps, satsumas, really nice coffee, a hot choc for the children. The same amount of food as we normally eat for breakfast, but a bit posher quality iyswim.

But a full English? But what are you going to be eating later in the day? Do you really want to get all that lot washed up before you even start cooking lunch?

We all love our Christmas lunch so much we want to be HUNGRY when we sit down to it.

First alcoholic drink for us will be a sherry or a G&T at about 11.30am/noon.

Alcohol at breakfast very over-rated imho!

sophy · 13/12/2008 20:03

Normal breakfast - we all have something different usually. Nothing special because it's xmas, that all comes later in day.

First drink is usually glass of champagne about 12 noon.
