Who's else setting their alarms ridiculously early tomorrow morning to join the Tesco queue and bag their Christmas delivery slot? 🤣🎄

My husband gets up for work at 4:45am anyway, so he's already been instructed to wake me up at the same time so I can get myself ready to jump in the queue at 5am!

Thought I'd start a little thread so we can all keep each other company tomorrow morning while we're half asleep, clutching our coffees and desperately waiting for our turn to book our Christmas slots!

Who's joining me for the annual Tesco Christmas slot madness?

I wonder if the Xmas slots have run out so it just defaults to normal delivery slots? That’s just a guess though obviously. They should make it clear if that is the case

You have to have the anytime delivery saver for early access. There will still be some available on Nov 5th though. My friend has the off peak so doesn't get early access but she always gets the date she wants.

Can you open up the December dates? You should be able to open the dates and see what slots are filled and what aren’t? Even if they’re full you should be able to open the December dates and view the full daily schedule?

If you’re only seeing up to the end of November, that doesn’t sound right - that’s what I could see before they opened up the waiting room. I couldn’t click on dates in December, they were greyed out.

Have you tried going in through the Christmas tab at the top of the page, just in case that routes you differently?

I've got mine booked. It didn't seem to take long this year.

Same goes for you @RedBullAndYop - can you open up the actual December dates or are they not clickable? If they’re full you should still be able to click on them and view the hourly slots…

Finally in and done. Got the evening of the 22nd. Still a few slots for the 23rd but nothing for the 24th but I like mine a bit earlier in case of substitutions

got the 23rd between 7&8am thanks to this thread also got £44 in vouchers so very happy that’s one thing ticked off the loooooong list

Just got in and plenty of slots available here (south east). You have to click “view Christmas slots” once you click in to “home delivery” . Could be easily missed

Thanks for pointing that out - I've spent 40 mins waiting to get on the website only to find you can't select any December slots. I downloaded the app and have 30 mins to wait there. But mine is an off-peak delivery plan so that must be why.

It's my first year of having deliveries and it all seems rather complicated. I wouldn't have even known about it if I hadn't happened to see the threads here - no notifications or emails from Tesco about it.

Are you limited to only 1 slot over the Chrisfmas period? We generally get several deliveries a week as the food my DC are able to eat changes so often that it's hard to plan ahead.

I set my alarm for 6, got in the queue, was told I had an hour wait, stirred again at 6.30 and was in, booked for the 22nd which is what I wanted! Much smoother this year!

Some stores do, my local Tesco Extra does, and they were there to choose this morning (but I booked the 23rd)

Got the slot i wanted (23rd) so still leaves me time to whizz out for anything they didn't send - last year there was no turkey crowns on my delivery on the 21st 😱 so had to rush out to Morrisons for a frozen one… it was bloody lovely!

Slung a load of stuff in my virtual trolley and checked it out about 10 mins ago so thats one job ticked off the list, and now Ddog and me are back to bed for a top-up sleep🎄

You can have one slot per day if you like and there is availability.

i didn’t think I’d had the emails from Tesco this year, but just found out my gmail helpfully put the emails into the promotions section it has (which I never check as it’s almost always spam I don’t want). However, if you don’t have the anytime plan, I wouldn’t expect you to receive the early access end anyway!

22nd morning will have had enough of shopping by then and will want to get on with more fun things (if there is anything missing or forgotten I can send H and a teenager out with a list)

Would’ve been ideal if they hadn’t lied about wait time when first logged on, 20 minutes they said. Although I assume they were working on the “stick one item in basket now”.

Assume ours don’t deliver on 24th either because all 23/24 gone, hope not it would be nice to think they give their packers and drivers that day off.

Might do the week before slot later - need to fill out diary as it is and guess when we will be in.

Not going to worry about it. Can always go shop in person.

No Dec dates available to me. I don’t normally get a delivery so I must be on a different list!! Ho hum, I will tackle it in person as I usually do. I don’t mind too much 😇

Waited 30 odd mins to get in , got to the front of queue and kicked out. Back in the queue for another 35 mins, got the front and the screen has been hanging for 15 mins. Wasted an hour 15 mins so far on this shit. Missed my morning class for this. If i can't get my preferred slot i will be phoning up to complain .. might get a free voucher as good will gesture .. I'll be pushing for one anyways ..

That’s interesting. I thought they stopped after there was a problem with some deliveries on the 24th.

The slots are only open today for people with delivery saver plans. It's Thurs at 6am for everyone else.

My Tesco's had slots for the 24th (though I went for 23rd too - I'm not risking missing something vital and having no time to pop out for it).
