I feel like I'm doing really well atm - went to B and M and Home Bargains this week and picked up some bits. I've got a couple of vouchers I'm going to use on some presents when I got to the big shopping centre in a few weeks and hoping for our first stollen of the season later this month! I'm even considering cracking out some Christmas movies to cheer me up and make me feel all warm and fuzzy!

Thank you. Glad to hear you are getting around a little bit. Christmas movie sounds just the ticket.

I saw and advertisement for a new on with Arnie coming out on prime or apple beginning of December earlier actually.

SaraHoliday · Yesterday 19:01

I'm doing quite well too. I know what I need to buy this year!

I'm making some advent calendars this year too. A beer one and a houses one - possibly another depending how it goes! I have a back-up plan in case I don't have time. I'll try to post some photos at the weekend.

The only item I've bought and opened so far is a pack of mini mince pies! 🎄 1 eaten. 8 still in situ!

for anyone who was wondering about the bath paints, these crayons are great fun and definitely wipe clean. Little bit of a reduction on a good brand.

I think I’m going to need to get better at remembering who I actually need to buy for!

Starfish order arrived - intended for me but not quite right so will be a giving tree gift
PLouise ordered - no intended recipient so will be a giving tree gift
Harper Collins books arrived - perfect and I do actually have recipients for them!
Bohomoon ordered - for me 😜

user7172 · Yesterday 19:08

I’m doing well on my diy advent for ds and have a few small presents for him but that’s it! We don’t buy for most of the adults in the family and the kids are now teens and it’s about money so don’t have too many presents to buy, but I’m really enjoying the bargains and may have picked 1 or 2 up for me! thank you all!

Cuwins · Yesterday 19:16

@Reastiejust a note- this should be thread 4 I think?!

PunishmentSnart · Yesterday 19:31

Can I ask anyone who has mid 20s daughters , or indeed are in their mid 20s , what might be some inexpensive stocking fillers for my niece, I have bought her a present which I know she will like* - what I'm looking for are some not expensive little things. She uses rollers for hair , so any useful hair things might be good , maybe those large clips hairdressers use to separate the hair when blow drying. Any ideas gratefully accepted. I'm really after useful things. She doesn't drink alcohol so wine etc literally won't go down well.

*very nice makeup brushes - I'm confident with this.

BananaWoman999 · Yesterday 20:09

I've not used properly yet - but the discount codes do appear to work, I saw an advert on Instagram for 'Coupon Birds' app. You copy the code, add to your amazon on the payment page and price lowers. Only on selected items but some very large discounts advertised. Robovacs, hairdryers, slippers etc. Maybe worth a try if there's anything on your list??

I'm after an argos code if anyone has one? I'm after the steam train lego which someone helpfully shared in the last thread at £57.50 - anything off that would be a bonus!

Not 20 or have any 20 year olds but maybe reusable make up remover pads and some remover? Clips are a great idea. Lip care. Body sprays. Maybe hair claw clips. I think bodywork do some really nice hand gels that are handy for your bag.

Not a gift idea but I’ve put my Christmas bedding on. I was in a bit of a grumpy mood the other day so thought it would be the thing to cheer me up. Did the trick. I love Christmas.

My jumper (and pyjama sets) are all due to be delivered tomorrow....but haven't been dispatched. Not looking good...

Timetotakepart · Yesterday 21:37

Thank you @Reastie for the new thread. Can't believe that the last one only lasted a month!
Huge thanks to everyone for all of their bargain links, I have completed my Christmas shopping now. I am always organised but have excelled this year and bought things that I wouldn't have known about thanks to you lovely people.

I'm the wrong side of 20s but given you are confident with nice makeup brushes as a main present then I would suggest things like:

  • Silk pillowcase
  • Reusable towel make up removers
  • Bubble bath or Bath Bombs (the lovely ones with little petals etc in them)
  • Hair sectioning comb and clips
  • A fancy body cream

Or if you had anyone else similar to buy for you could maybe buy one of the better value beauty advent calendars and split the gifts?

The Somerset Toiletry Company are having a good sale, plus 15% off your first order if you sign up. There’s a free delivery over £35. They have great small gifts (good for teachers and support staff) also in the sale so a Christmas soap is now £2.98 and the packaging is lovely imo. They have 40% off the urban cafe range- can def recommend if you like caramel latte!!

also very disappointed- my sleep and feather sets (earlier thread) came from Amazon and they are all squashed so will have to return. Has anyone else had a problem?

M and M Direct have quite a lot of bargains including French Connection jumpers for less than £20. Just bagged a nice looking denim jacket for £19.99. Delivery is extra - and they charge for returns too, just to be aware.
