Thread 3 - the one where things get serious

[Reastie]

All my plans at getting organised in the last thread left me as I realised the thread with referrals was already up and running, so the one I set up I'll link to once the current one runs out!

Welcome one and all to this safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations .

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

If there’s anything you think would be useful or good to include in this post then please do tag me and let me know here (or DM me). Also always happy to hear nominations for a thread title.

Thank you @sunshineandrain82 I just bought a Switch 2 and a game (Mario Kart) for the price of less than the Switch 2 on its own! I opened a credit account but can pay immediately, it gave me 30% off.

@PoorUncleBarry which account did you open please?

@JustMyViewOnThis the post by @PoorUncleBarry relates to this from @sunshineandrain82

There are fab options here. Thank you!

Thank you for the pasta shapes tip, I have just bought some Halloween shapes with the Lakeland free delivery which my daughter will be so happy to get as a surprise!

The Lakeland pasta is great- my now 15yo still has a bag of dinosaur pasta from there in his stocking (sadly out of stock today)

Ohh thanks for pointing this out - perfect for our Halloween movie nights with the 4yo

The Cambrian Company have an offer on at the moment, two tins (only for the earl grey and lemon verbena) for £30 and free delivery.

This is my third order with this local (to me) company, the tins make great gifts, they had homegrown saffron which makes it a bit more Christmassy and the tea is always delicious.

I’ve ordered two duo’s to split between hampers I’m making, tea strainer, mug, local fancy chocolates and biscuits are going in. Any ideas of what else to put in a tea hamper?

I think someone was asking about a soup maker? I need one for my mum & was going to hold off for Amazon prime but have come across this which has good reviews.

Fudge?

Home bargains today had some burts bees in: those in the photo and then cardboard lip balm tubes I think were £3? I got some for teacher gifts/gift stash

Why oh why am I looking at this??!!! My son has the first switch but I am tempted by this deal as he wants the new Mario game but it’s only available on the 2.

The prices of the games put me off though, they’re so dear! The Pokemon Pokopia game advertised on here the other day at Argos was only £20 but it’s gone back up to over £60.

Hamleys also has a decent toy sale on, a lot of scrolling but managed to get a few bits.

We got DS the Switch 2 last year. Luckily all the original games play on it as well. It's a lovely bit of kit. Far superior than the first one.

We have original switches but my elder one brought her self a 2. So now my others want them. So now I have brought 2 switch 2s. It definitely plays better in our opinion

granted using very I got the switch, a iPhone and preordered a few games for the PlayStation 5. And got 20% on my entire order.

I would advise buying a sd card though. My elder child can only have 4 games on hers before it runs out space.

just make sure they are for the correct one as we were caught out with her and thought her old one would fit.

Gymshark have an extra 20% off sale items with EXTRA20. It’s popular with teen DD and her friends.
