Thread 3 - the one where things get serious

1000 replies

Reastie · 22/09/2026 15:23

All my plans at getting organised in the last thread left me as I realised the thread with referrals was already up and running, so the one I set up I'll link to once the current one runs out!

Welcome one and all to this safe, warm and fuzzy place for people to share discounts, bargains and Christmas gift ideas both online and IRL. Please note the tone and intention of the thread and join with spirit as generous as DC helping themselves to the Christmas chocolate celebrations Smile .

Here’s some useful information about how to save the thread or a specific post so you don’t need to have a message to check in for every thread so you have the thread saved:

To watch the thread - click on the little bell that has ‘watch’ under my first message. This adds the whole thread to your ‘watched threads’

You can also bookmark a specific post by clicking on the ‘bookmark’ under the specific post. This saves your exact place in a thread but doesn’t alert you to new replies.

If you have any referral links or codes, please share them on the referral thread here

A reminder that we don't use affiliated links on here please

If there’s anything you think would be useful or good to include in this post then please do tag me and let me know here (or DM me). Also always happy to hear nominations for a thread title.

Very have the switch 2 for £354.99.
if your a new account holder then 20% off takes it down to £283.99

How do you get the new account discount? Is it the basic account or only the Very Pay credit account?

AliceinNumberland · 27/09/2026 12:06

For those that suggested very (with the 20% off for first order) for a PS5 - is that the Very credit? Because the offer excludes PS5s unfortunately, as well as a few other things like the newest iPhones.

That's a shame, as I got the PS5 last year opening a credit account.

Can someone please reshare the claw game link, I think it was from Debenhams... I closed the page by accident!

In return I can offer Lakeland has free delivery until the 28th.

DaffodilsInAJamjar · 27/09/2026 12:44

Does anyone have any recommendations for a pirate ship suitable for a bath for a 5 year old. A certain mean mummy binned the tomy one as they were sick of all the black mould that needed constant cleaning.... But now can't find a suitable replacement.

I had hoped (not that it was me who binned the beloved mouldy boat) the green toy company would do them as their boats can be chucked in the dishwasher. However, 5 year old finds their boats too 'nice' and not piratey enough.

Feel like I'm hunting the impossible...

MuchAdoAbout · 27/09/2026 12:57

@Fireside10 how about this? Not suggesting the dough would be good for the bath, but the rest?

My 5 year old loves a Playmobil boat in the bath. Pretty sure there are various pirate ships available.

I found them cheaper at The Range (online as well) so worth checking there

Last year EE did a discount on Benefit Mascara. It was a good hit for my older teen, I usually have to stick to the list but I like to get some nice surprises in there if I can. Does anyone know if it's likely they'll do the same again this year? I think it has been done on previous years too but I wasn't on here then!

My girls are going to be hard to buy for this year!

there has already been a couple of deals posted on the previous threads. I also got a deal on John Lewis site with buy 2 get a free gift set a few weeks ago. If I see any more I will post.

Very niche question for ballet mums. I'm looking to buy a pair of dance warm up booties for an 11 year old who does ballet at a reasonably high level (has danced at ENB Christmas ballet type performance level), so would prefer to get a recognisable good quality brand.

Do Bloch ever have sales or shall I just get them now?

I find them hit and miss for sales. Especially for the latest designs. I find them good quality boots though and my daughters get a hammer including in winter. Sometimes they have 10 or 20.per cent off so you could wait and see.

Thanks. I don't think it's important that they are the latest designs (although what prompted me was seeing a really cute pair with a London city map print on, sadly they are no longer stocked), so I will hang on until Black Friday in case.

beansoup · 27/09/2026 13:30

My Starfish Project order parcel has just arrived - beautiful packaging and the items are gorgeous, so I am very happy. I hope everyone else's parcels arrive soon :)

Think I have seen those on the Planet Dance website sale page so you may get lucky. We have bought from there before but not for a while.

Just trying to add extra info as it didn’t work for someone who tried - I am getting into a pickle trying to add pictures so please ignore me if it shows too many times.

Thanks I got for £0.48 so happy with that! I like Nivea so bargain!

Fireside10 · 27/09/2026 13:46

@AmazingBeesooh we have the Playmobil one - stupidly have never told him to stick that in the bath! Thank you 😂

Piskiegold · 27/09/2026 13:57

Amazon have a few pairs of kids crocs very reduced (£7-11 rather than £30-40). Takes a bit of looking through different colour and size combos.

Eg infant size 5 for £6.78 -

I have tried to add photos and info to your post and have got into a pickle but have tried to show pics incase it helps in a separate post.

Thank you. I think everyone gets different offers. This morning I was £1.20, now it’s £1.08 if I subscribe. X

Is beautifulearthboutique a well known site?

I am finding it harder and harder to establish (particularly with stainless steel costume jewellery) which are genuine boutiques and which are just selling rebadged Temu stuff. Almost a case of who is copying whom.

And to be fair, I have had some really nice jewellery from Temu, I’m not going to pay 10x as much from somewhere else if it’s the same actual product.

According to reddit it seems to be a drop shipping operation, although based in London, as you rightly suspect @fishfingersandchipsagain

I’m late to these threads this year and want to buy from starfish even though I have no idea what you’re all buying! What is it and am I too late?
