Who else can't sleep?

I'm just too excited/anxious. Did I buy enough? Will the kids love their gifts? Thoughts of Christmas dinner and giving dh his gifts are swirling round my head.

I love giving gifts. I love awkward video chats with family. I love the chaos. I love the food. I love love love Christmas. I just wish I could sleep.

Ha I'm up too! But I was up until 3am wrapping presents last night and trying to summon some energy to do the rest.

I cant sleep either.

Have stomach ache, and still haven't even put gifts out under the tree yet. Stomach is making me feel queasy so that sucks.

I get stomach ache every day, would love just one day off.

We are still waiting for the teens to go to sleep so we can put their stockings upstairs. Reckon we will be up for another hour or so

Waiting for teens to go up will be my Christmas in a few years time. I'm making the most of Christmas with preteens at the minute.

I'd die if I stayed up till 3am!! I actually wouldn't cope.

Yep listening out for DS 20 to get in, at local pub.

I’m thinking about how much I love my new baby granddaughter and I’m looking at the tree with everything all wrapped up and for the first time in 45 years I don’t want to hear a song about struggling and overcoming. I want to hear a sing about success and greatness so I’m going to play ‘we are the champions’ by Queen. Happy Christmas everyone x

The thought of my dc being at the pub on Christmas is so far away but it'll be my turn to wait up before I know it.

My only one and 20 years has flown by. We said tonight, Christmas just isnt the same now, the magic has gone. Although still buy a chocolate advent and lego advent each year which he loves. Makes me sad. Cherrish these early years

Hearing about everyone's Christmases with grown dc has made me feel a bit emotional. I'm definitely going to treasure tomorrow. Dd12 doesn't believe but she plays along and ds10 I don't think believes anymore but he's afraid to say anything. Dd7 is a full on believer.

I hope mine let me buy them advent calendars when they're grown!

We have just come back from a really beautiful midnight communion service. Waiting for the teens to go to bed so we can fill their sacks - they know the score but we all play along!

I can’t sleep, 39 weeks pregnant and so uncomfortable. DH snoring right in my face but I can’t turn over as my hips hurt so much on that side. Praying baby doesn’t decide Christmas Day is the right time to come as I also have a toddler!

My 22 and 19 year old lads fully embrace the Christmas madness for me, every year advent calendars, biscuits and a drink for Santa and they still sit with me on the sofa to watch Christmas films and read the night before Christmas. I’m lucky, they firmly have their tongues lodged in cheeks but I still love it.

Merry Christmas! DD still will not go to bloody sleep, I am so tired. She doesn't really believe anyway but that's not the point. I just want to sneak a stocking on her bed. Every time I go past on the landing her little face is peering at me, or she's pretending (badly) to be asleep. We're both going to be utter zombie wrecks tomorrow. Tantrums before lunch, I predict. (Her or me. Maybe both).

Oh those last few weeks of pregnancy are so tough. Sleeping is impossible, everything aches. I really feel for you. Hopefully baby will stay inside for a few more days! New years eve would make for a fantastic birthday I've always thought

We did ours yesterday and all went well for the kids but my husband got me some random shit that I am upset about. What man buys knickers with their name on it?? I’m 40+ 😳🤮 Wanting to be “adventurous” Please don’t. 😩😆

Plus side: lovely Midnight service and currently sat eating warm mince pies with Stilton.

I was up until 1am finishing my son's Christmas present (handmade pillow) and now I can't sleep because I'm expecting the baby to wake up! He usually wakes up at 1, 3 and 6am so he's behind schedule and I feel like I can't relax and sleep 🤔

Wide awake here too. The joy of taking high dose steroids.
My 7 year old is in my bed and I love it. He’s fast asleep and snuggled up next to me. If he wasn’t in my bed I’d probably get up and make a start on the cauliflower cheese and red cabbage which is my offering for Christmas dinner. I’ll give it another hour and take a nytol and see if I can drop off.

Hope everyone can finally get some rest

Can't sleep. Not my own bed, room too hot, backache, husband snoring, the wine probably isn't helping. Now getting stressed I'm going to be tired and grumpy during the day.
I've got up and am eating toast to see if it helps.
We don't do stockings so at least I don't have that to consider!

I'm up. DP is working tomorrow and I don't know how to "do" the presents. DC are 9 and 11. Perfectly capable of waiting until 7-8pm. I was thinking stockings when the wake up. Presents from their friends and my side of the family late morning. Dinner then our presents and his side in the evening.

I'm still wide awake. I just can't switch off. I'm listening to the dog lightly snoring. I might have a cup of decaff tea.

Awake here too, my dad died this year and even though I didn’t see him on Christmas day I’m really not feeling it this year.

Am also hoping the kids love their presents. Will be a long day for us all if we don’t sleep
soon!
