Who else can't sleep?

I'm just too excited/anxious. Did I buy enough? Will the kids love their gifts? Thoughts of Christmas dinner and giving dh his gifts are swirling round my head.

I love giving gifts. I love awkward video chats with family. I love the chaos. I love the food. I love love love Christmas. I just wish I could sleep.

Right I'm back off to bed to hopefully sleep this time. Merry Christmas everyone. I'm so sorry for those of you suffering losses. Those of you woth awake children adult or young, I hope they let you sleep soon. And those of us who just can't sleep, let's hope we aren't zombies tomorrow!

I haven’t gone to bed yet. Dh is sleeping in the chair. Ds2 and ddil were here earlier and they opened their presents as she is Mexican and they celebrate on Christmas Eve. My baby, ds3 (19), won’t be home for Christmas for the first time ever. He’s working miles away from home, where he doesn’t really know anyone, so I’m a bit worried about him and missing him. He’s hoping to get home for new year. I do actually know that I’m really lucky. Ds1 is here and ds2 and ddil are coming back tomorrow for dinner but change is hard and I haven’t got used to my baby being so far away yet.

I’m still up. Had yet another argument and I so nearly walked out. Sleeping in the car is more appealing than here. But couldnt do that to DC.

Wide awake. Our nine month old hads been up for three hours and won't settle. DH is in with our 3 year old who's also buzzing. I am TIRED!

Magic has definitely gone...DS now home currently being sick in the bathroom 🤦‍♀️😡

Still waiting for DS1 to get in from his 12hr pub crawl... 😭

Woke up for the toilet and pointless going bk to sleep as my alarm goes off at 4am as im working this morning , only until 10am so not so bad eldest ds 21 still awake on his pc gaming . Everyone else fast asleep

Cant sleep as feeling rough, we’re staying in a lovely holiday cottage and had a bit too much wine last night and not enough food , should know better at age 56.
Our Ds’s are mid /early 20’s and DD is 15.
Was sat in the hot tub with DS , age 23 and DD, lovely sunset, precious moments (glimmers)
I’ve saved all year to come away this Christmas, not far from home, just wanted a change.
Slightly concerned about the cooking today, different oven, so thats probably keeping me awake too
hope it all goes well for everyone 🎄

I was in bed. Now awake. I feel so ill diabetically. I'm certainly not awake due to excitement I can assure you!

I've had 2 hrs but now wide awake. My DS17 is mega excited, as are the pets. My cat has been knocking his and the dogs presents off the table, so I've had to shut them away (presents, not the pets).
One part thinks what the heck, wake DS and open presents now. But if I then feel tired and sleep, I'll wake up and not have anything to unwrap, lol.

Dkitten woke me with his crying as he had pood in the litter tray and wanted it cleaned - such a diva!

I obliged as all cat servants do then nipped to the loo. The cold floor has jolted me fully awake so I've bit the bullet and moved the santa sack and filled stockings from their hiding place to the sitting room

Now back in bed trying to get warm again

Ive been up for a few reasons. Tummy pains, partner snoring, waiting for 19yr DS to come back from night out. Hes now home which is good and Ive moved to the sofa. I really want some sleep tonight.

Can’t sleep either, but because I have an upset stomach! Worst possible timing.

I’m up, I got one hour between 11 and 12. I’m afraid to say I have the most atrocious wind from eating too much bread (which I KNOW gives me IBS) and Brussels sprouts at Christmas dinner this evening. I can’t even open a window because the wind is howling.

I fell asleep at around 11pm but woke up at 3am. Now I can’t get back to sleep!

I'm up as my asd/ adhd dd is absolutely refusing to sleep, has woken her brother who is now up and full of excitement, we are sat watching a christmas film with me desperately hoping they nod off soon!

Me! Have given in and am now enjoying a glass of wine and plan on going back to the kitchen for crisps because I'm now hungry. Should really sleep but I'm quite enjoying my little me-time. Better not overdo it as DCs will be up in a few hours and I really don't want to be remembered as the mum who was hungover on Christmas morning.

Was starting to panic as DS wasn’t home from his night out yet and I knew the pub was shutting at 2am.

He’s just come in and flopped on my bed for a Merry Christmas hug, so I can finally sleep.

He wants wakened at 8am in the morning as going to his Dad’s at 10.00. Heard it

Also awake. DD (6) invaded out bed just after midnight and is fast asleep, talking about "the most delicious thing ever". DH decamped elsewhere to sleep, and I now can't sleep due to DD's sleep talking.

Doom scrolling it is, then.

I am awake because I drank too much champagne at my friends house earlier - perimenopause essentially means anything more than two drinks and my sleep is screwed. DS arrived in our bed an hour ago having wet his own bed (always happens when he drinks squash which we don’t allow usually!) so I was up stripping a bed and putting washing on. Now I can’t sleep! The wind is noisy. Not helping myself by looking at my phone….

Oh God yes. The wind is insane tonight.

@TheEveningReport 💨💨 where are you ? It’s incredibly windy here too, I’m on south coast. my letter box keeps banging and scaring me. Hope your stomach ache settles soon !
