I haven’t seen one of these thread yet this year and with lots of “help need ideas for…” type posts thought might be useful, plus I’m nosy and love hearing what everyone has bought their DC

(misers, moaners and the “DC should only gets a resource book, pair of socks and a satsuma” brigade need not comment.)

Three teenage girls 14, 17 & 18 was in my element shopping for them this year if I’m honest.

Phew all done, looking at this I think there is a gap in my youngest DD’s sack (like to keep things equal) so I’d love to read what you have all got your DC.

A stocking and a sack?

That’s what I was thinking 🤨

Nottodaythankyou123 · 18/12/2025 20:01

Sounds like they’ll be thoroughly spoilt, lucky girls!

Mine are younger and basically enjoy anything that’s wrapped up, so theirs is a combo of fun things (Barbie’s and babies and colouring and glittery crafts) and then more practical bits (socks and tights and pants and bubble bath). They haven’t actually got any big ticket items really this year as they’ve got everything they could need (and that we have space to store) so it’s mostly smaller little bits.

MoreIcedLattePlease · 18/12/2025 20:03

I mean a “table present” is self explanatory I would have thought….

Except you then said it goes on the bed rather than the table!

A table present is normally a small gift left on each person's place setting

You got your 14 year old Baileys? And Victoria’s Secret pants?

god I do worry about some people on here 🤣

Sleepysleepycoffeecoffee · 18/12/2025 20:07

A lot of Victoria’s Secret pants are just plain normal every day pants. There is also a range aimed at teens called pink.

RollyPollyBatFace · 18/12/2025 20:13

And I can’t get on board with some posters wringing their hands all piously, basically saying that only poor people can post their very meagre lists or only those weirdos who only buy according to that horrible little poem about buying something they need , want, to read etc

in the real world, everyone has a different budget. And everyone is equally welcome to post what they want aren’t they?

I don’t have the funds for ponies and 3 iPhone upgrades. Does that mean OP shouldn’t post , to save my potential hurty feelz?

Where did you get equidry socks?! All out of stock at the moment 🤪

We pre ordered from Equidry, they arrived today, a real treat and quite expensive but they do spend a lot of time cold and wet time at the yard!

Not unlike your user name.

You sound real fun.

It's a quote from a beautiful Joni Mitchell song. What an unkind remark. Money doesn't necessarily buy fun.

ilovepixie · 18/12/2025 06:41

A stocking and a sack?

And don't forget the upgraded iphones given at the table.

Halfjob · 18/12/2025 20:29

I’m another who loves being nosy these threads.

I have £150 budget per child.
Eldest has a jumper, perfume, notebooks for uni and some cosmetics. Present from Father Christmas is some earrings. Stocking contains sweets, chocolates, spot patches, face masks, phone charger, pants, socks, lip balm, a reusable spoolie, a keyring and razor blades.

Second has some clothes and perfume. Present from Father Christmas is a kinetic watch winder. Stocking is fairly similar to above but with a few differences eg nail clippers instead of a spoolie.

God that poem is so twee and shit. And it’s always said so pompously too.

FreeRangeClassA6LargeEggs · 18/12/2025 20:36

Was thinking about this. I don't even think this is real. It can't be. Wealthy people aren't vulgar like this. It's either credit card debt or complete bollocks. No one buys that much, it's obscene. And laughable.

Filterphobia · 18/12/2025 20:41

I did read your list and think wow, I’m lucky I don’t have girls or I would be broke. I love Christmas and spending money but with two boys I often think girls must be so much easier to buy for.

DS12

Nintendo switch 2
Pokemon ZA game
Wireless headphones for switch
Lego Ninjago mega combiner mech
Oreo milkshake set
Harry Potter calendar
Stranger things hoodie
Slippers
PJs
Loki book
Drawing book plus fineliners

Sweets and a selection box

DS13

Sweets and a selection box

Older DS has slightly more but the price is about the same. Younger DS has his birthday on 21st so will be getting a mini fridge for his room plus other Lego sets then.

Both boys will also get lots of gifts from family. They are very lucky.

OP your girls will have a lovely Christmas with all of those thoughtful gifts.

Oh give over with the pearl clutching over a miniature bottle of Baileys in my daughter’s stocking, she is 14 (rising 15 in the new year) not 4, wait till I tell you she will likely also be allowed a small glass of champagne with Christmas dinner, I’m sure some of will positively combust.

I know it's ridiculous. I've got my DD14 a litre of vodka and 20 Benson's. What's wrong with that?
