What are you buying your husband for Xmas

I’m absolutely out of ideas this year. He is 57. For once I’m completely stuck. I’m looking for inspiration.

I’ve bought what he’s asked for:

Bottle of a particular whisky
Case of beers (gets one for Christmas and one for his birthday - Beer-Ritz)
Some earbuds (for his new phone which he bought himself)
Running shorts

Married for 40 years. We do stockings too.

A woolly hat
Tour of his team’s stadium
Consumables and things he always needs replacing - hot sauces, socks, pants etc

Filey Bay whisky
A book relating to his favourite band and signed by the band members
Aftershave
Chocolates
Socks
A grabby thing, no idea of the correct name for it, a long flexible tube with a claw on the end. They’re meant to be useful for DIY/ car maintenance.

Last year I bought those gloves with the lights in the fingers, thought they’d be good for DIY and tinkering on the car. He threw them away!

My DH is 59

Bottle of more expensive red wine than he normally drinks

Our adult DC are buying him more wine, golf balls and a few other things that I don’t know what they are.

Mines asked for aftershave so I’ve bought him that. Also bought him a game for his console and I’ll probably pick him up some whisky and his favourite chocolates too

Nothing ….I’m 60 and we been together 40 years….stopped buying after first couple of years

That's my dream when DC leave home.

DH and I married for 13 years he's early 40s
This year I have bought him an antique diamond and gold signet ring as he lost the one he inherited unfortunately... pricey but he's worth it.
I have also purchased art relating to a band whose concert we went to just before we got married.
Ill get him a nice bottle of wine and pyjamas from dc

I've told him that this year I just don't have the mental space to think about things (just started a new job that's full on), so he needed to tell me what he wants!
He's decided on new pads for biking...he's bought them so I just transferred money! Job done.

For the last several years I've done a hamper for DH. We have a biggish shoebox, and I fill it with all sorts of snacks and sauces that we don't normally buy, have never heard of before, or are just plain peculiar. He loves it, I enjoy filling it, and we don't fill the house with things we don't need. Everybody wins 😍

I'm going to get 7 boxes and put some props/outfits for different scenarios/activities inside.

He works away a lot, we dont need STUFF and this will be more appreciated than random things.

You need to know what sort of port the person you are buying first prefers. My DH likes tawny port, specifically Barros - you can get both ten and twenty year old from vintagewineandport.co.uk - they have many different sorts of port!

Together for 37 years.

This year a cashmere sweater. He always gets a mars bar wrapped because the year ds was born we were really skint and all we could afford was a mars bar for him and a bath bomb for me. We still do it as a nod to that memory.

Apple Watch which he asked for. His old one is worn out.
New slippers, socks and pants.
Scarf.
New set of thermals.
New travel coffee mugs as his old ones are worn out.
A bit of chocolate, some nuts etc.

Trainers, vanilla vodka, a jumper, 3 x books, a new keyboard for his work computer and some pants/ socks/ sweets for his stocking.

A handmade black leather belt from a Scottish company, a gillet and some tickets to a gig, and smaller bits eg novelty socks, shaving balm, chocolate s.

Two nights in a spa hotel on the coast ft dinner and a massage. I wanted to give him something to open as well so I’ve bought him a robe/dressing gown in the style of a Traitors cloak, which he’ll love, and it goes well with the spa vibe.

It's this company. I've bought from them for me before (a cheese party in the garden during lockdown), got dad's subscription and then almost bankrupted myself when I was in Bath in the summer at their shop!! It's all been good quality.

DH wants some new walking boots so we will go shopping together to try some on. I am also getting him some of those yellow night driving glasses, probably a couple of books and whatever else I think of. Reading though previous posts, I might get him some port too!
