Decided to combine both thread title suggestions :)

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for helping me out and I'm so excited that I was on my computer and she tagged me so I could set this one up - hurrah!

Feeling super festive today after getting the decorations up and visiting Father Christmas. Exciting news is the Christmas bedding and jumpers are all down from the loft and being washed, so I'll soon be able to walk around in my 'I [heart] Christmas' jumper Xmas Grin

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.
Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

DH is on a major health kick so I can't fill his stocking with the usual sweet treats. He suggested nuts instead. 😑 If anyone else is in a similar boat, Holland & Barrett do a range of flavoured cashews and almonds, in decent sized bags: I got him pesto, katsu, harissa and miso. 25% off for Black Friday, so £3.44 for a 210g bag. Not cheap per se, but at least a bit more interesting than just plain roasted.

Lentil crisps have more protein than regular crisps and “feel” healthy… and take up a lot of space in a stocking 😉

WimbyAce · 30/11/2025 15:23

OK thanks, I will see if the hairdryer works, otherwise will return it.

PostPopper · 30/11/2025 15:29

Pretty poor for something like a Barbie dream house not to come in additional packaging as standard, IMHO.
Obviously a Christmas present for someone young enough to believe in Santa.

I know! I just tried it for a similar item and is says gift packaging not available.....suggests sending it to a different address!

Some of the card shops have lovely cardboard boxes which I presume are reusable or recyclable and you could shred coloured paper to nest the food in.

I suppose i wouldn't need cellophane if the box closes over. That's a thought. Perfect. Thank you

I'm a bit late to the Anthropologie party, but I finally have my £20 voucher... however it's only applicable on full-priced purchases (fair enough). Because of their Black Friday sale, literally nothing on their site is full-priced, so I can't use the voucher. Did anyone find a way around this?

Hereslookinatyoukid · 30/11/2025 13:54

Oh that’s a thought… though I think the brushed cotton might drive my other half mad…

😆😆😆 My other half loves it - bottom sheet too. But we do live in an old house! Brrrrr...

TKMaxx had hamper kits, £5, the basket plus cellophane, shredded tissue and a big ribbon bow

Oh, I'll look as I'm going to drop in there tomorrow as it's near where I'm going. Thanks!

For those asking about Snackverse - we thought it was a brilliant idea and DD was desperate to get her hands on South Asian / Australian goodies. However, despite them advertising world snacks, in 12 months, not a single box came from outside Europe. It also got later and later each month, and their wording (25% off subscriptions) was inaccurate as it was actually 25% off the first box. We took them to Trading Standards and they had to change their offer wording - but they maintain they have "a few" worldwide boxes. I suspect literally two or three and they probably go to mates. I don't know anyone who's ever had a more expensive "worldwide" box - we got lots of Greece/Turkey/Lithuania/Romania - all lovely - but not worldwide by any stretch of the imagination.

We eventually gave DD a budget of £12 a month to go crazy in our local Asian goodies shop instead.

I'm in the same boat, I've decided to just wait it out (mines valid till 30/1).

Some people have bought Jellycats which are still full priced, but otherwise, the voucher is good until January so you have time to use it once sales are over.

Just back from food shopping. Aldi have some absolutely lovely 'Specially Selected' that will make lovely gifts/ stockings. I picked up winter coffee, dark chocolate almonds, chocolate coated orange slices, honey siracha. Also a Big Potato game for £10.99 & a crossword compendium for £3.99.

Someone was looking for Peppermint candles. These are £4.99 and very lovely- smell & looks

RL shopping today:

Lots of Hello Kitty merchandise reduced in Primark.

My local game-playing shop/cafe had loads of Pokémon cards for those looking for them.

M&S have 9x30ml fragrances for £30 - down from £50. They would make good team presents, etc.

Whatwouldnanado · 30/11/2025 15:52

Has anyone seen dark chocolate Bounty bars on sale please? And Old Jamaica rum and raisin chocolate?

TheBigFish · 30/11/2025 15:52

@IlovePond @MaybeItsTimeForMeNow I bought the Anthropologie PJs. I would say true to size, I ordered the small, which I think are size 8-10 and I am an 8 and they are a nice fit. Legs are a little long but I have little stumpy legs and they are absolutely fine. They are quite a thin cotton but not overly so, still fine for me as winter pjs. I might just need to wear a bra if wearing them around non family 🤣. They are lovely and soft. I have decided to keep them.

I got a lovely pair of Chelsea Peers as a gift last Christmas and they have gone baggy and see through on the bum already so I was in the market for a nice new pair.

I bought the Jellycat bunny tree decoration which is small but cute and reasonable priced when it’s only cost postage!

I'm fairly certain the dark chocolate bountys were discontinued.

Livinginacatdictatorship · 30/11/2025 16:07

Can I please check where the best place to buy jewellery at the moment is? I've seen hot diamonds and abbot lyon mentioned a lot, but are there any codes for them that currently work?
Also a few threads back i saw electric blankets with an extra toasty foot panel, does anyone have any recommendations of good ones? Thanks 😊

Sasha07 · 30/11/2025 16:11

Sorry, haven't got time to look back for names but I'm sure I seen two people asking about the sizes/quality of the Anthropologie PJs. I'm 5'8 and the trousers skim the floor (which I'm very happy about 🤣) I got Medium as I'm a size 12 and they fit lovely. Would do a 12-14 too.

Yes, they are kind of thin but not threadbare/see through thin (agree with @TheBigFish that a bra would be needed to avoid poking anyone's eye out when it's nippy 😁) but under my daylight lightbulb, they're not so thin that you can see skin colour through them. I've added a pic, might take a while to be accepted, to show my hand under the material and the length. Oh, the arms could do with being an inch or two longer for me but still fine.
I've scrubbed my feet out as although I think they're beautiful, many others wouldn't agree 😁

The old jamacia has changed I think and it's Bournville Old Jamacia so when looking check the Bournville packaging as it was only in small along the bottom that it was old jamacia. I got a bar today in home bargains.

Puffalicious · 30/11/2025 16:42

Heading to Flying Tiger tomorrow to get Christmas boxes (as suggested for hamper goods - thanks!), what else should I be looking out for? Recommendations!

You're right, it is Bournville, but very nice
