Thread 13 - the one with a cheesy advent calendar of 67 jumpers

Decided to combine both thread title suggestions :)

Thanks @RainbowZebraWarrior for helping me out and I'm so excited that I was on my computer and she tagged me so I could set this one up - hurrah!

Feeling super festive today after getting the decorations up and visiting Father Christmas. Exciting news is the Christmas bedding and jumpers are all down from the loft and being washed, so I'll soon be able to walk around in my 'I [heart] Christmas' jumper Xmas Grin

This post is a work in progress, and if you have any links you’d like to share or you think would be good to add, then please do let me know. The general consensus for the thread is to share any bargainous links, ideas, and/or discount codes or information. No affiliate links, please.
Please post any referral links to the separate thread linked below. This is a warm, friendly, kind and cosy corner of MN filled with Christmas cookies and hot chocolate - let’s keep it that way!
As we move towards actual Black Friday (does that even exist any more?) the threads tend to move very quickly. It can be helpful to post your bargain in bold. This can be done by adding an asterxix either side of a word with no gap in between. So Levi's would be Levi's

Ulster Weavers have VIP40 code atm, some lovely Christmassy bedding and bits in the outlet. Yesterday was an ELF and popcorn but no cheese day for me, thanks for those. Reastie great to have you back hope you’re doing well.

Puffalicious · 30/11/2025 12:17

Nipped to Primark early doors (dropping DS to weekend retail job nearby) to look at the home stuff (can often get decent seasonal bits). I don't shop there but noticed 'Nightmare Before Christmas' hoodies for £1. They had racks & racks up to age 14-15, which are generously sized for older teens.

Interestingly, DS13 is 5 foot 9, possibly bit more & has muscly legs. I've been buying a Small men's size for the past year, now inching into a medium, but Primark size 14-15 seems to be equivalent of men's small or even medium in some things. I wouldn't chance trousers/ joggers as length would be an issue, but tops seem generously sized.

I picked up a Playstation zipper (they have the franchise) today (his big present is a PS5) and it almost fits DH (medium men's). It is lovely material & a bargain at £14. Picked up a Barcelona FC tshirt too for £9 (sadly no zippers or football kits in the bigger size but they were fantastic). They seem to have the franchises for Barca/ Inter-Milan/ Liverpool/ lots of NFL teams.

I'm generally not a Primark shopper, but was pretty impressed with these.

Not very Christmassy but I need to buy dd some socks with heel padding to wear to break in her Dr M boots. Any recommendations please?

Have you seen that Dr M sells heel grips? And other brands on Amazon.

OliverBabish · 30/11/2025 12:27

Is it worth holding out on beauty advent calendars to go down in price? It’s only for me so it doesn’t matter if it’s mid-December by the time I get one! After all this shopping for everyone else, I feel like I need a treat!

OliverBabish · 30/11/2025 12:33

Also I can absolutely recommend Scent Outlet for perfumes - I’ve used them twice and they have been great. Very quick delivery and the product has been genuine. They sell discounted perfumes that may have damaged boxes - it will list it on the description. They currently have an extra 20% off with code SCENT20

for example - Good Girl by Carolina Herrara 30ml is £35.28 which is the cheapest I’ve seen it by far.

Most of the John Lewis member comps end today so remember to enter (it’s just click a button) if you haven’t already!

IlovePond · 30/11/2025 13:04

@OliverBabish - lots have sold out, but there are some good reductions on a/cs at Boots.

Thanks for sharing, it drives me mad that Xmas bedding is usually polyester though. If anyone spots any 100% cotton Xmas bedding that is reasonably bargainous, please share!

Puffalicious · 30/11/2025 13:08

RL shopping yesterday & got lovely locally sourced foodie things- chutney/ honey/dipping oil/ balsamic vinegar/ oatcakes/ ginger wine/ cheese (more cheese!!!) & I'll probably try & do small hampers with them. Any ideas on kits anywhere? I could buy small baskets & cellophane myself, but wondered if kits might be better value OR if anyone has more eco-friendly ideas other than cellophane?

Lots of Christmas/ winter themed brushed cotton out there. I'm currently looking & there's loads. If you can handle the heat that's an easy solution. I also don't buy anything that's not 100% cotton.

I actually got a brilliant green, wintery themed one (frosty trees so can be used throughout winter not just Xmas) in Aldi for DS1 who's at uni. He loves it as it's mega cosy (in his drafty old flat we're paying £££ for 🙈).

Some of the card shops have lovely cardboard boxes which I presume are reusable or recyclable and you could shred coloured paper to nest the food in.

Oh that’s a thought… though I think the brushed cotton might drive my other half mad…

Onemoret1me · 30/11/2025 14:01

Thanks for the snackverse reviews, seems very mixed. Yes the one off gift is quite expensive and the offer doesn’t seem to work on it.
think I’m going to give the subscription a go for a few months and keep my fingers crossed it’s easy to cancel

@IlovePond I ordered the Twinings calendar on Friday and it arrived yesterday. I do have Prime though

I did the same 😀

FuelledByRageAndHaribo · 30/11/2025 14:16

TKMaxx had hamper kits, £5, the basket plus cellophane, shredded tissue and a big ribbon bow

Butterontoast · 30/11/2025 14:19

Was there an abbot Lyon discount I’ve missed?

Arregaithel · 30/11/2025 14:41

Twonka · 30/11/2025 11:37

does anyone have a code for UGG please? They have a 10% Bf code but I was hoping for a meatier one if anyone can help

they have some ex display here if you'd take a punt @Twonka (limited sizes)

burblish · 30/11/2025 14:56

DH is on a major health kick so I can't fill his stocking with the usual sweet treats. He suggested nuts instead. 😑 If anyone else is in a similar boat, Holland & Barrett do a range of flavoured cashews and almonds, in decent sized bags: I got him pesto, katsu, harissa and miso. 25% off for Black Friday, so £3.44 for a 210g bag. Not cheap per se, but at least a bit more interesting than just plain roasted.

Thank you. I did actually buy some from DM shop early this morning when I couldn’t sleep and bought the wrong g ones! Waiting to see if they’ll cancel my order before buying again 🤞🏽

WimbyAce · 30/11/2025 15:05

So I got my Barbie Dreamhouse delivered yesterday, good. However it was in packaging and no other box inside and they have stuck the delivery label bang on the front, not ideal! Do I have any chance of getting this label off? Feel like returning it at the moment!

Fuckingfuckssake · 30/11/2025 15:07

@WimbyAcetry putting the hairdryer on it for a minute or two.

FurForksSake · 30/11/2025 15:08

@WimbyAceget the hairdryer on it.

Amazon are sending out where they can in own boxes rather than Amazon packaging. Check carefully the listing and at checkout and there is an option to have it sent in discreet / Amazon packaging

Thanks I will try the hairdryer. I have seen that option before but didn't see it this time, may have been as I was rushing to get it at that price. Pretty annoyed though, its not even on the back it's right on the front.

FurForksSake · 30/11/2025 15:17

It’s caught me out this year as well, really annoying!
